I hope some of you were lucky enough to get to see this. To say I was impressed with the man is a gross understatement. We so need politicians that have his ethics, compassion and vision.
I hope we see his star rise and swiftly, I could easily see this man in the White House.

Oh No!!! Maybe you could go to Oprah's website, there might be a transcript of it somewhere you could read.

I have it taped so I can watch it with DH. I've heard great things about this guy! I think there's a good possibility he'll run for the White House. My only hope is that people don't look at his name and get a negative image because it sounds similar to Osama, and believe me there are a lot of ignorant people out there who would do this :(
Did they touch on this on Oprah?

No they didn't address his name on the show. They mostly reviewed his latest book, "The Audacity of Hope", and talked about his perspective on America, what we have lost sight of, and what needs to change.
They also brought his wife out and discussed marriage and family.

I am concerned about his position on gay marriage--did he talk about this at all?

ooh...I love him! I caught the last half hour with him yesterday and was so, so very impressed. From the way he spoke to his ideas to the way he looks. We need more politicians like Barack! Here's hoping he can do something in 2008.
And does he have the most gorgeous family or what? I think Michelle would make a wonderful first lady.

No, he didn't discuss this, and I wish he would have as it's one of the very few issues I have with him.
I don't think we're going to see any politicians any time soon advocating for same-sex marriage. It's just too divisive an issue right now. And I have a feeling that we're mainly going to see politicians not just "not" advocating for it but actively opposing it, as that seems to be the safe way to go even for the dems.
I wonder if the interview will make it onto YouTube . . .
I had the pleasure of briefly meeting him at the 2004 DNC and was very impressed with him! I think that he is going to continue to be a rising star on the political scene in the next few years!
