To switch a celeb you use the add a celeb button. Pick who you want to add (can't already be on someone's team) and then they will let you pick who you want to get rid of!

Same league and team through the 1st of Nov. That's why you can swap out players and if you want you can try to trade celebrities with other player also. I have never done the trade thing but I have swapped. If you poke around on the website you will see that they rank celebrities by the amount of points they receive over time. You can try to get a high point getter if no one else has them. You never know when something out of the blue will happen though!

You are absolutely correct! CC4 drafted Oct. 9 so their points will be off from the ones that drafted on the 11th. They have 2 extra days of points! We both end on Nov. 1st though so this will make the points a little tricky to figure out.

But in my defense, I was the first person in the draft, so while I got my #1 person, I didn't get another celeb for 20 positions, so the number gaining celebs were all gone. I am not sure how exactly they award the points - I see that sarahh finally got her points though! I think that they have people actually reading these stories so the headline names probably get their points immediately then they read through the story to see if anyone else needs to be awarded points.

What does everyone think about getting everyone to start the same exact day next time. I think that there has been enough exposure now that people that would be interested know about it. We will start setting up the leagues to start on a particular day - open to suggestions here! I was also thinking maybe we could self limit the teams to 6 people so that there is a better chance of getting a high scoring celeb? Ideas? Suggestions? Thoughts?

S&S, that sounds great, especially the part about having all the leagues have the same start and end dates and limiting the size of the leagues.

S&S I think fewer teams per league is a good idea. You really do need at least one notorious celeb to win, although at the same time so much of it comes down to dumb luck with the automatic draft. The idea of ranking celebs for the draft is really hard when you have no idea how the draft will go down. This time around, I also think the whole Anna Nicole Smith thing was unfortunate for many players because at the time we drafted she was probably several people's top pick but then that whole thing just petered out. The site/concept is something that can probably never work perfectly fairly or objectively, but it's still some good, clean fun! Thanks for sharing the idea and coordinating.

Excellent idea about the unique passwords! We could use PMs to pass them out to the first X people who request to join each league.

Sorry if I'm overthinking this, but:

If we start a new contest when this is over, it'll include Thanksgiving, but not Christmas/New Year. SO, we could

1) do another league for November, and a third contest for December (so much good stuff happening during the holidays)

2) hold off the next league until Thanksgiving and get Christmas, but not New Year's covered

(this is based on my thought that the contests last 4 weeks. Is that even correct?)

Any way we do it, I'm IN!!! But I'm traveling (and may not have steady computer access) so I don't want to be a team leader. Dang, I'll be in the Virgin Islands during Christmas, how will I keep my eye on my team?!

And yes, I'm settling back in to the coveted LAST POSITION on CC3. Come on Gwenyth, DO SOMETHING in Spain. Insult someone, have an affair - whatever.

Season In Progress
This is when scoring takes place! The season is the longest part and can be as short as 3 weeks and as long as 12 weeks. Each day, Fafarazzi scorekeepers take in celebrity gossip events and give them a score. If that celebrity is on your team, you get points. Each team gets points from their celebrities and at the end of the season the team with the most points wins the league.

I'd love to do this again and think the idea for smaller teams is a good one. I don't have time to lead a league, barely have time to keep up with this thread but I would love to play again :)
Maybe next time I will do better, I have been lingering in second to last place for too long in CC5!

I think if we start the next one after this one (within a few days or so) and have it a month long, that will let us get one more in before Christmas. Then if some people don't want to do it over Christmas/New Year's, it will be over before then. It looks like they don't do scoring on US holidays (Thanksgiving) and weekends, so I don't think it will be a big deal to do it during Thanksgiving...nothing is tracked during most of the days that people would be away from their computers if they are traveling.

I think you wouldn't want to have them longer than about a month to 6 weeks at a time anyway...people may get bored with their team if it's much longer than that, and it's easier for new people to join if there aren't super long periods before each new round starts.

The FREE leagues are only 3 weeks.

To be a team leader you wouldn't have to do much. Just set up the league (CC, CC1, etc.) and the draft date and PM the password to the first ___ people that need it. After that you are done! So far I have 4 people that can lead a team.
