On my way home from work, I found the sweetest little kitten by the side of the road just waiting to be smashed by the cars speeding by. I picked her up and brought her home (note: I'm not sure yet if she's a she or a he, but for now I'll call her a "she"), but I can't keep her. I'd like to find her a good home -- preferably as an indoor cat, as she seems to be prone to walking in the street. She's really very cute and quite sweet. She seems pretty low-key and purrs all the time. So I've sent out an email to my work and we're going to ask around the neighborhood to see if anyone wants her. I've checked into local no-kill shelters, but none of the ones I've found are accepting new cats.

I hope I find a place for her soon since I really, really can't keep her, and she's living in the guest bathroom right now. Let me know if you want a very sweet little kitten. PM me if you're interested, okay?

Here she is. Isn't she cute?

She/He is adorable! You may want to put up some "found" kitten flyers...just in case she already belongs to someone in the area though! She looks too clean and well fed to be a stray.

Yeah, I doubt she's a stray. She's very people-oriented. But, honestly, I don't know how I feel about someone who would let a kitten so small outside. Maybe she somehow got out without them realizing it, though. Maybe I'll post some flyers in the area, but where I found her, there really aren't very many houses.

Poor thing. She's just so sweet. She doesn't seem to have any of the rambunctious kitten qualities of biting and scratching. She just seems really content to be pet and sit on my lap.

Where in NC are you? If you're near Raleigh we may take him.

It would probably be a good idea to see if it's anyone's cat before sending it to a new home.

Actually, I've spoken w/the friend who's taking her and she knows that I plan to put up some signs -- she's okay with taking the kitten even with th possibility of having to return her to her original owner. We really can't keep her in our house. We have two cats right now, and it's really a disruption to their lives, and I can't let her roam around the house. I feel bad keeping her confined to a small place like the bathroom, so I'm happy she'll be able to run around at my friend's house.

The thing is, this kitten's pretty dirty and a little skinny. So, while she's definitely tame and people-friendly, I think she's been without a home for a while, and I doubt I'll find her owners. Also, where I found her, there aren't really many homes -- it's mostly businesses, so that's another strike against finding whoever she may have belonged to. And honestly, even though I'll be putting up signs, I hope no one comes forward because it makes me angry that she was outside at all. She's much too small to have been let outside. I realize, though, that she could have slipped outside by accident. I know that's happened with my cats before.

I'd call the local animal shelter or animal rescue league and see if anyone has reported a lost kitten. Just to be on the safe side! :)

She's about the same size as our cat was when I found her in a parking lot. Our cat was also very people-friendly. I probably wouldn't have taken her if she hadn't been circling my legs and meowing. We have no idea what her history is and how she knew people weren't scary. She was also very, very sweet at first. She just wanted to be held. Haha - now she's a crazy cat and showing no signs of slowing down at a year and a half! :p

Update: I've called the Humane Society and got nowhere. And I'll put up some signs tonight.

The kitten's at my office with her new mom (my friend), who absolutely loves her. She's a real hit here. She's very happy to be getting so much attention.

She's very playful and seems to be loving life. :D

Glad you found her a good home. Of course when you asked the question "Who wants her?" I had to stop myself from saying "I do! I do!".

Yeah. I wanted to keep her, too, but it just wouldn't have been a good idea for us. She's so scrumptious! :)
