I originally found it in a local bridal shop selling for about $950 + tax, but after some research online & some help from some WC ladies, I figured out the manufacturer of the dress (tag was cut out in the sample I tried on in the local bridal shop :mad: ) & found a bridal shop out-of-state who I could order it through for $495 (+ free shipping & no tax)! :eek:

Mine is *fake Italian accent* Design ala Momma. Yup-my mom made my dress for me after picking and choosing different features I liked from about 3 different patterns.

I originally had a simple ivory gown, one that I hadn't paid a lot of money for, but really loved. Well, six days before our wedding, I realized I had an alterations fiasco on my hands. And so, five days before my wedding, I threw all caution to the wind and became a two dress... a green dress... bride. :D

Fortunately, all my accessories except my borrowed veil still worked and even my flowers and blue BM dresses all meshed so nicely. Do I feel a little weird saying I wore a green wedding dress? Yep. Do I regret it for one second? No way.

It seems so long ago...I just had to go back and look at these pictures again! I wore a gown by Impression Bridal - I got it at a small bridal store on the sample sale rack - $99. It had barely even been tried on and fit like a glove. It was a very simple gown and sometimes I see other gowns I wish I had gotten, but overall I was pleased with the way I looked (as was DH) and it was definitely an incredible deal.

PookiePrincess- I almost bought that dress! I had loved that for a long time--but then the one I bought flet perfect to me, so I went with that one instead!!

Have you bought your accessories for it yet? There is a veil at David's- It's a 3 teir detachable veil with a little bit of crystal/rhinestone to it to make it sparkle, and that looks AMAZING with this dress!!

I designed my dress. It is Alencon-style lace (from Walmart of all places :p ) over satin on the bodice and sleeves, and tulle over satin on the skirt. 3/4 length slightly flared notched sleeves.
It was made by a dear friend of mine who, as a surprise wedding gift, did not charge me. It was overwhelming.

I made the mistake of asking for feedback on my dress on the knot when i first purchased it.
I got 60+ comments saying it was tacky, ugly, gaudy, 80's looking, costumey, that it would look like the dress was wearing me, that it was hideous and any variation/combination of any of those wors you can think of.

I didnt care though. :D

My Dress is Davids Bridal, not sure if it has a specific name or anything....I bought it about 3 months after we got engaged(last November)and i love it! I cannot wait to wear it. My dress was an Alfred Angelo. It was in their informal collection, but has been discontinued. I loved it because it gave me a big train for the ceremony, but afterwards, I just took it off. It was held on with latches. During pictures, it was on, it was off constantly. And yes, I did wear flipflops for the whole ceremony and reception.

thank you Luzbel :) The veil is embroidered silk-chiffon that I bought at a local fabric store specializing in silk and saris. My MIL and I made the veil to copy Tori Spelling's wedding veil. It is mantilla style, and attached, without any gathers, to a beaded beadband. It was very easy to make!

My dress was free. I work with a lot of garment manufacturers, and when one of them heard I was getting married, said he had a leftover sample in his warehouse and if I liked it I could have it. He had no idea how long it had been there. I came down to look at it, and fell in love with the material- a deep ivory dupioni silk. It only needed alterations in the shoulder! I felt like it was meant for me. I believe the manufacturer was "Bianchi".

I was a three dress bride. When we decided to scrap the fancy wedding and get married in Maui, I had to ditch the Jasmine gown I'd purchased for something a little less formal. I then purchased a very cute breezy gown but the shop that ordered it made a gigantic error and then refused to alter it, so I had to get a third dress. I didn't love it and looking back, it was probably the exact wrong dress for my body type, but what's a girl to do?

Nearly four years later it's sitting in its garment bag, rolled up in a rubbermaid bin somewhere.

My dress was made from traditional Filipino fabric made from banana fibers and hand-embroidered with sampaguita (a flower) and beaded. The material was ivory, like raw silk, but more fibrous, and had a short train with embroidery all the way to the floor. Sadly, no pictures of the train.

Well thank you! I did have it made in the philippines. My parents were living there and my titas did all the measuring and adjustments on this end. My other tita made the headpiece with pink pearls and gold wire. You can't really see it, but there is also a gold and tortoiseshell comb in my hair. My grandmother bought the necklace in India in 1952 on a trip around the world. It is pearls and 22K gold with semi-precious and precious pendants. My mom had the earrings made to match. I felt a bit too ornate, like Queen Amydala, but overall the effect was nice.

Not to brag.. but the main designer at Mary's Bridal and I went to Jr. high and HS together. Just saw her not long ago at our 20 yr HS reunion. Of course she asked if I wore one of her dresses!!
