DH is going to Singapore in November for 2 weeks for a martial arts tournament. He has asked me to give him a list of stuff I would like him to bring back for me. Jewelry, clothing, handbags, whatever. Thing is I have NO IDEA what Singapore is well-known for, though I do know the shopping is said to be PHENOMENAL.

So, any ideas on what types of things I should ask for?
I love all types of jewelry, and I am a shore*. Plus, I love clothes.

When I was in Singapore (granted, that was >10 years ago), there were many tourists stocking up on high-end designer goods and luxury perfumes, cosmetics, etc. which apparently cost less in Singapore than in the US/Europe.

I'm not into these types of things, but did stock up on lots of nice and affordable petite sportswear that I really liked. The women there tend to be smaller than the average American woman, so I could find clothes *everywhere*.

Id love to hear about this too as Im off there for a short trip next week. I'll be working most of the day so I only have a few hours to hit the stores. What can I bring back?

Electronics are also cheap there.

As far as I can tell, anything fashion related in Singapore cost about the same it did in the US. There is a fabulous selection b/c Singapore is almost like one giant high end mall....but its not cheaper.

I saw a lot of people buying jewelry there but I found the prices there higher than in New York.

I think it depends upon where you live. If you have access to all this stuff at home, its probably not worth brining much back.

Electronics are cheaper but beware that the outlets are not meant for the US.
