Does anyone know where I can get a modern, customized birthstone ring for my mom? I'd like to give her a ring with my sibling and my birthstones in it - just a simple band with the two stones, maybe something like this:

I haven't really liked any of the more intricate rings that come up on Google - any ideas for jewelers? If you have a picture of your ring, I'd love to see it!

You could try searching for Mother's rings instead. You might get more results.

http://www.momsring.com/ looks like a good start.
I would love to do this for my mom, but it would be so ugly. She's garnet, I'm amethyst, my dad is ruby. Two reds and a purple, yuck.

Thanks for the replies! For some reason, it's hard to find a simple, straight band...maybe I'll have to visit a jeweler and do it that way.
greenbunny - you could maybe do a mother-daughter ring of just garnet and amethyst?

Walmart has some pretty nice ones. Most of the major jewlery stores sell them too. but searching for mothers rings would give you more of what you are looking for.

I found these by googling "unique mother's ring". Hope those help!

I love mother's rings! I've always wanted to get my mom one, but she doesn't like the way our birthstones look together (emerald, amethyst, and yellow topaz). I think they look fine, though.
I love the style of that first ring!

Im bumping this up for mothers day...
I want to get a mothers ring for myself, but I just dont see anything I like. Im leaning more towards getting eternity bands of each girls birthstone and then just stacking them together...but even with that all the eternity bands Ive seen are really cheap looking...Any ideas ladies?
I also found one other I liked that had 3 stones and the names on the side but then I run into the problem of DD1 and my birthstone are the same.

Zales has a bunch of them here (http://www.zales.com/search/index.jsp?sr=1&fbc=0&origkw=mothers+ring&kw=mothers+ring&kwCatId=&numResultsPerPage=80&pg=1&kpc=1). I got this one (http://www.zales.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2136677&cp=&pg=1&numResultsPerPage=80&sr=1&fbc=0&origkw=mothers+ring&kpc=1&kw=mothers+ring&parentPage=search&searchId=20578532601) in white gold for Christmas and I love it.

What about etsy? (http://www.etsy.com) There's bound to be someone over there who can make one for you.
Or maybe your local bead shop? Most bead shops have items on display from local beaders, they may be able to get you hooked up with someone who can make you exactly what you want.
ETA: Found this one. (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=5734938)

My mom has a simple one with 3 of our birthstones. (I have 3 brothers, but one brother and i share the same birth month) So she has March (aquamarine), April (diamond) and October (pinkish stone)
I will get one soon and it will either be April (diamond for my daughter), September (sapphire for my son) and either October (pinkish stone) or November (amber) for baby #3. I will not be putting my stone, although it's April (diamond) It's just going to be of my kids, not hubby or I on it.

I got one as a gift for my mom ages ago that is unfortunately topaz/garnet/topaz - it's so ugly. ;) I have never heard of having the mother's birthstone, too, though. I can see why that would make sense for an only child, but it seems like w/ 2+ kids, it could be overkill. Just my 2 cents.

This is an honest question: I am confused by how many women are buying these rings for themselves nowadays. Isn't a mother's ring traditionally supposed to be something your kids buy for you? (Or, with Dad's help?)
I have to admit, I think they are utterly hideous and I will never wear one. (Hope I don't offend anyone--they just aren't my bag. Especially since my kid is going to be born in November or maybe early December and both of those months have horrific stones.)

Hi Wen. Back in the day, my dad bought my mom a birthstone ring with my stone, my two sisters' stones, and both his and my mom's stones  ! It was busy looking to say the least (garnet, ruby, yellow topaz times 3 set in a gold nugget setting - it was the 70's) but sort of traditional in the sense we were all represented in one cluster. It was all dad...;)
I have a birthstone necklace for Pierson instead of a ring - it's a white gold choker with 5 aquamarines set evenly in stations (sorta like the diamonds by the yard look) that I wear with a dainty initial pendant, also in white gold. A little different twist on the mom jewelry, I guess.
