We actually took this month off because it was just getting too stressful. I was totally obsessed with it. The whole we have to BD because I "might" be ovulating. My cycles were getting so out of whack. We'll get back with it next month (waiting on AF right now). Hopefully it'll happen soon

Funny you posted that. My b-day is 03/22, my moms b day is 11/22, my sons dads b day is 01/22 and my water with DS broke on 08/22. Of course he ended up taking his sweet time and now showing until 08/24, but it would've been cool.

Hi,
I participated on the thread over at the WC when I was TTC, and thought I would check in here too.
I am 16 weeks pregnant and I am starting to just feel really fat in the tummy. Can anyone who is further along or had babies tell me when I will get more of a ball? Right now it sort of feels like all my "tummy pudge" (it sounds more fun that way) is being pushed up and out. Maternity shirts look ridiculous but I have all these rolls in my summer t-shirts and work shirts showing. I don't feel very cute!
Just wondering.
thank you for any insight!

Hey ladies,
I want to be added to the roster. I'm glad to see that Plus Size & TTC found it's way over here.
We're planning on TTC later this year(earlier if my cycle acts right). I've been to the dr. and she's ready to go with a script of Clomid as soon as my cycle starts. If it's not here in a reasonable time, then she'll give me something to bring it down. But I told her I wanted to be as natural as possible. Even taking the Clomid is a jump for me! But I'm ok with it. I don't know why I'm so scared of medicine...LOL
Anyway, I'm here to stay. Hope you all are too!

Doing better here. The boys seem very content where they are, had another NST today and everything looked great. Were hoping for 2 more weeks, but it could be up to 4 more weeks (they won't let me go beyond 38 wees).

Ramona, My own experience with charting has been so helpful! I was not O'ing on my own, and was able to tell from charting. I took my charts to my dr and she decided to start me on Clomid. Are you doing u/s to check for cysts? If you are seeing an RE, they typically will not start you on another Clomid cycle until you are cyst-free, which is why they do an u/s every cycle. So really, there may not be a right or wrong answer, but I would highly recommend charting, from my personal experience.
Good luck! :)

I was trying pretty hard to loss some weight before getting pregnant, or rather before starting treatment to get pg (I have PCOS, and never ovulated in 2 years), but i guess the exercising was all I needed :D I am super happy and incredibly thrilled although I'm worried how my weight will affect being pg and giving birth, and I am deathly afraid of not finding maternity clothes that fit! and looking pregnant, arg....

Congrats red!!
So, you've been TTC for 2 years and the month you start exercising you get preggo?!?! Am I understanding that right? (As I race to the gym...LOL)

[delurking]You know what I thought, this is funny. I was just realizing that I had a similar experience as Red. After my m/c in the first part of January I decided to go back to the gym. Lose some weight, get fit, etc. And I found I was PG March. Maybe it is the gym thing! HHHMMMM :p ;)
CONGRATS AGAIN RED!

Annie, you've confirmed it...I'm fitting exercise into my schedule anyway I can. I have a machine at home. The problem is that we just moved and there are boxes everywhere. We have only unpacked a couple of rooms. I work and go to school full time, so that's why it's tough to find time for much else. But I am starting tonight with a workout plan. Did you do 30 minutes a day whey you got preggo? More? Less? What about you red?
Also, if you don't mind me asking? How much were you trying to lose? How close had you gotten to your goal before you got preggo?

hey there mrssmith! lol, my story is indeed interested, and yup, you got those facts right. Hubby and I have been ttc since August 2003, charting since March 2004. And no O's...never ever. I tried metformin, had to go back on BCP's for a month to reduce a cyst and I had the quite classic string of pearl cycsts on my ovaries of PCOS. I had no hope in mind to ovulate naturally, so I took the summer off from trying before we started clomid in september. Part of my "summer off" I joined he gym and have been doing 45 minute sof aquafit and 15 minutes of swimming laps 5 days a week. I love it! I did this for May and June, and tada, i'm almost 5 weeks preggo. I just can't believe it! I never expected it. I am still very far from my ideal weight. I probably lost only about 20 pounds during my two months, and that was only the tip of the iceberg that I need to lose. So big surprise!

Sounds like that is the ticket! It's worth a shot, in my opinion! :D

That is quite amazing, red!! You're giving me hope! I'm supposed to go to the dr. and get clomid. We held off on the prescription before because we were just about to close on our house and knew we'd be moving and didn't want something else on our plate. So, we planned on getting started in late summer/early fall. I'd like to lose about 15 pounds to make a difference. That's where I'm used to being and where my clothes fit and look good. I'd still be overweight by contemporary standards, but I wouldn't look like it, KWIM? I'll have to find a way to get up earlier and work out. It'll be very rough right now because of my schedule, but it'll be worth it if I can lose and get preggo. I'd like to either lose 15 pounds or get preggo by the end of the year...what if I can do both!?!? Will you girls help me stay accountable? I can at least give it a shot. Even if I don't get preggo and just lose the weight, it'll be well worth it.
Oh, BTW, I'm TTC in August/September 2005. That's an update from before.

Yay Red is here!!
I totally hear you on this:
I'm worried how my weight will affect being pg and giving birth, and I am deathly afraid of not finding maternity clothes that fit! and looking pregnant, arg....
I have found the whole clothes issue to be really challenging... its so frustrating how little is out there... but so far so good... i havent lacked for an outfit yet...
my advice on this subject is, if you see something you like... buy it!!! i started hording clothes when i was about 8 weeks pregnant and I am so glad I did because since there is so little selection, I have found (at least with the Motherhood website and the JC Penny website) that the sizes sell out fast and there is never much stock at any given time.
My biggest challenge so far was finding something to wear to the evening wedding i am going to tomorrow... i ended up with a blouse from lane bryant (non-maternity) and a super stretchy long black skirt (non-maternity) from jjil.com i just bought a size uup on the shirt and surprisingly the skirt is so stretchy i just got my normal size from jjill.
My biggest gripe is there are no dresses for plus size available... and what few there are... (like 3) are short! I never wear short skirts... i dont think i'm going to start now! but anyway... point being... you might have to get a little creative, but its definitely workable :) (my favorite sites for elastic waisted skirts are www.jjill.com and www.coldwatercreek.com)
as far as health concerns. I havent had any officially yet... (though i failed my 1hr glucose test last week and am taking the 3 hr test next week... fingers crossed everyone that i pass... )
I think your timing is really good for one health related thing! You wont have the hot weather to contend with! my feet are so swollen at the end of the day it isnt funny :( but i think that is partly due to the heat we have had... so yay for a March baby!
anyway... best of luck for a very happy and healthy 9 months!

Hello ladies! I found the new fall/winter JCPenny catalog has plus sizes and lots of really cute stuff. My gf told me they run true to size, so I plan on getting most of my clothes thru them as long as they do fit right.
So I had a O ultrasound today and my OB told me that a normal womans vagina is about 10 inches deep to the cervix. Mine is 15 inches deep, meaning that the spermies can't get to it before dying. So wednesday I'm having a in office insemination done then she is putting a cap on the cervix to keep it all in there. She said its a little painful but won't need drugs. I'm nervous as HECK about having it done, and even more so about the possibility of having like 5 babies at once. AHHHH
Has anyone else had this done or known someone who has??
Have a great day ladies.

HEY THERE!!! I am so so so happy for you! I just wanted to add, I agree with Alanna on if you see something GET IT! BUT I have to admit I have NOT had a hard time finding clothes, and I have quite enjoyed pg clothes. I found things at ross, motherhood, gap, old navy, and target. SOme of the stuff I bought has been just regular plus size clothes, but MOST has been maternity.
Don't buy TOO much in the beginning though because some stuff DOES get too small as you get bigger. SOme people get bigger in the back side and legs too, so if the pants are a little tight you might want to go up one size.
I am just tickled pink for you.

I am scared of giving birth though..do you have any nerves about that?
sure!!!!!!!! I do freek out now and then, but DH and I are taking Bradleys method classes, and they really help prepare you for giving birth. We do different exersizes, DH helps with relaxation techniques, it has made me much more relaxed about the actual part of giving birth. I was SUPER freaked out about it though. I also think woman today are more freaked out because its in a hospital and you don't see it (other than on TV) as much as you did in the old days. And the TV shows can scare the cr@p out of ya. I am not saying I don't think we should give birth in a hospital, just saying that its sort of WAY more private now.
Anyway YES I felt scared, and still do here and there but the baby has got to come out some how
Dan's*Girl - good luck hope the week goes by super fast for you. ******sending you BFP vibes********

shush how is bradley my husband choked when he heard it was for 12 weeks.
Question: DH will be getting a new job where we will be making what he 'thinks' we should to have a baby but he wants to pay off all old debt first. I don't care to wait until next spring b/c I've already been wating to get the show on the road. We were supposed to start trying in May until I got laid off. I would LOVE a spring baby not a summer one cuz I don't tollerate the heat well.
My mom suggested that I get my IUD out and make him responsible for B/C and let nature do what it will.
So should I wait and respect his wishes (I KNOW once I get a BFP he will be happy about it)
Or should I take my mom's advise and neither prevent nor try?
Astara
07-21-2005, 09:22 AM
Shushy - can you tell me what kind of stuff you do in that class? you are too funny.. you're right, the baby does have to come out sometime or another lol I think your right about what you said about how ppl give birth in the hospital now and its more private then back in the day so those ladies were more exposed to it.
GoodLuck Dan's Girl!! ~*~*~*~Sending lots of BFP vibes~*~*~*~*~
[B]LynzeyAHL What a tough spot to be in.. If I were in that situation I would probably want to get the IUD taken out and let him provide the B/C.. Of course I would talk to him about it first to make sure he's ok with it. That way when you decide for sure your ready... you can start the BDFest that day! :) lol just my 2 cents.
I hope everyone's having a good day today!!! :) I am running out of clothes to wear and a bigger shirt I just bought shrunk in the dryer lol. fun times. I miss my old size clothes!! I'm so not used to having a tummy and it being good at the same time lol so almost everytime me and my husband go out.. i always ask him "do I just look like i have a big fat roll or pregnant?" lol poor guy.

sunshineab622 Welcome
Astara/ LynzeyAHL the reason they do 12 week classes is because they do a LOT of preperation for the coach. I love it, I thought 12W  but it has done nothing but brought DH and I closer. He feels VERY empowered by the classes. We only had ONE so far and we went over kegels, pelvic thrusts, relaxation techniques, squating, and how much protien to eat. Our homework was to walk 10 min. a day, 50 kegels... and so on for each excersize. DH calls me to remind me to eat this or that or to do my ____ excersize. Here is a link to their Bradleys home page (http://www.bradleybirth.com/Why12.aspx) Its not for everyone, but I LOVE IT! Here is their course outline (http://www.bradleybirth.com/CC.aspx)
Astara - I had a big fat roll before I got pg, so now I just feel the same. I mean everyone else says they can totally see the difference, and so can I but I dont feel like I am ALL TUMMY/all baby, I still feel very FAT.
LynzeyAHL Thats a hard question. FIRST no matter what you do, I would talk it over with your DH first. I would want the IUD out, just so your body can start doing its own thing again, but I totally understand wanting to get a leg up on the bills. Talk it over with DH if he hates condoms (like most guys) then he might not be all that happy with your decision and feel like he is being cornered. Oh and just one other thing about trying to TIME your pg. I just want you to know that my DH was INSISTANT on having the baby during a certain time of year. And then I had 4 m/c's and his attitude changed QUITE A BIT. I am not saying you are going to have problems but one never knows. I bought a BBT and started to temp to know what was going on with my body too. THat might help you feel like you are starting to take control a little.
Sorry for the long response, that is just my 2cents. I am sure what ever you end up doing, it will be right for your family. Good luck, I know when I was ready, there was NO STOPPING ME! :o ;)

Hello everyone!
I have a question. I have a wedding to go to in September and I will be around 7 months pregnant by then. Does anyone know of any links to a dress that would be nice enough for a wedding but isn't short?! All these dresses and skirts are knee length and looked awful before I got pregnant, so I am pretty sure the added swelling will do nothing to make me look better.
Anyone know of a nice simple wedding dress that is not short- and as an added bonus has sleeves of some sort? If you have an idea of something sleeveless I can just get a cardigan. My arms are horrible too :(
Thank you so much if anyone can help!

Currently my second biggest fear about being pregnant are things that involve my weight. Like exposing my stomach to the doctor when it’s still flab and not a hard ball. I dread the thought of getting on the scale when I’ve gained 20 lbs. Or being told by my doctor that I can only gain 15 lbs. Does anyone else obsess over these things? And does it go away once you are actually pregnant and say in your 2nd trimester?
Congratulations Red. Best of luck to everyone else trying this cycle.
Ericka_Jarett

Rebecca,
Your doctor won't say to gain only 15 lbs, if that is not healthy for the baby. When I was pregnant, my doctor never even gave me a limit to how much to gain, most important was that the baby was growing and getting the right nutrients. I lost 15 lbs (not trying) before I got pregnant and than after having my daughter back in April (was 24 weeks) I went down about 10 lbs, doctor never even said anything about my weight. I am trying to stay in the same level I was before I got pregnant, but how much success I had will be seen soon (don't go back to the doctor until December 1st, unless I am prayerfully pregnant before than) You can always lose it easier when you deliver and can get out for walks (remember at this point you would have an April baby if you got preggers now) and also if you plan to bf.
I was planning on doing the walks with my daughter Rebekah, but only went for 1 walk since having her. No fun and not very enthusiastic when not pushing a baby stroller around the neighborhood. :(

bumble~ Hello & welcome to the group! :) I used to feel the same way about all the things you mentioned above. I was most nervous about showing my stomache to the DR's & was nervous when I got the U/S because of that same reason. But my fears were quickly melted away when I was treated just like any other patient. Then I realized... they see people like me everyday probably all day long. You actually may not gain that much.. my last appointment at 21 weeks I had gained a total of 7lbs. I'm sure that has changed and I will find out thursday but thats not too bad and I have been eating whatever my body tells me it wants..ie: lots of pizza lol. My DR never put a weight limit on how much I need to gain. They have never said anything negative about my weight in any way. Actually before I even knew I was preg. I told the dr I was thinking about TTC and how I wasnt sure if it would be good to do while being heavy and she said as long as your doing some excersises there should be no reasons why I shouldnt start a family. And the excersising was just to help prevent getting GD. I have obsessed over these kinds of things for so long.. and it does go away esp in your second trimester. it did for me at least. Now I could care less. I know noone is judging me.. im sure they've seen it all before. I've only had to show my stomache about 3 times.. the first time I was nervous. the second I was like 'eh oh well' and the third i didnt care. It really does get better. HTH! Goodluck this cycle~*~*~*~*~babydust!~*~*~*~
Shushy I had a fat roll before pregnancy too lol I think thats why its still a roll and not a pregnant tummy. When I sit down it still looks kinda like a fat roll but when I stand up i think for the most part it looks pregnant.. I hope at least! lol thanks for the info on the classes!!

Pregnancy is the one thing that has got me into eating right and portion control. I've been extremely sick throughout the entire pregnancy, and have lost weight as a result. The baby is measuring fine though, so doc isin't worried. I am, of course, thrilled. I figured since I was overweight to start out with, when I got pregnant I would gain like 500 lbs.

Yeah, really! we gotta get some conversations rolling in here...
Welcome Chimichanga
I went to my DR's appt yesterday.. I've gained 3 pounds in 2 weeks. making a total of 12 pounds so far. I really need to be careful now though, I want to stay under my goal of 20-25 pounds. Baby measeured 32 weeks, which is a week more than she has been measuring.. (she has been measuring 2 weeks ahead, now its 3) so hopefully it was just the difference of DR measurements and Gigi really isnt that big! lol :) I am a little anemic so I have to eat red meat at least 2 times a week and she said it would be better if i had it 3 times a week if i could do that. I never eat red meat! I'm an all white meat girl. that's gonna be hard for me. and I shouldnt drink milk with eggs in the morning :( Milk would be better as a snack. but I crave it!!! I want to drink the whole gallon!!! :) Hope everyone is having a great day~

Don't get me wrong, I am super thrilled and know how incredibly lucky I am, but barfing 24/7 gets alittle hard to deal with sometimes, ya know? It's not even the throwing up that's the real problem, it's the constant battle NOT to! lol, It's all for the better good though :D I did say I'd paint myself green and run through the streets for my baby, so a little porcelain worship is hardly a hardship :p
Thank you to everyoen for the warm congratulations!! Makes a girl feel good, ya know? :D:D
I'm already starting to outbelly my pants, which amazes me since i'm only 9weeks! I thought I'd have more leaway because of being bigger and all. I dread looking even more plump and not preggo. I keep chanting in my head that jenny said she looked more preggo around 25 weeks, so 14 more weeks and i'm there! I've started collected websites that sell plus-size maternity wear, i thnk i may start ordering soon ;)
welcome Chimichanga!
How are you doing shushyk? i can't believe you are what, 31 weeks already? Holy cow!

ETA - i know we can all be rather self-conscious when it comes to bellies, but i'd be eternally grateful is someone could post a belly shot to give me hope that one day i will have a cute baby belly. I lurk in the belly pic thread and seeing all the perfectly round bellies is kinda depressing :p I know there were some in this thred *over there*, but none here?

red_canuck - HEY! I am so sorry you are dealing with M/S 24-7 YUCK. I hope you feel better. Don't feel like you can't complain just because it took you a while to get pg. I felt guilty complaining because of all the losses, but ya know sometimes ya just gotta feel a little sorry for yourself ;)
Oh yeah, the chub factor. Its pretty funny to see peoples faces when they are tring to ask but not ask if I am pg. They get this look on their face like oh geez please tell me I didn't just ask this fat lady if she is pg and she isn't... I considered making a t-shirt that said yes I am fat, AND PREGNANT :o
Try to hang in there, I hope your m/s goes away soon and is replaced with the enjoying bliss of 2nd trimester! I didn't really start showing till 18 or 19W but you could KIND OF tell around 15 or 16W (unless you were family, and NEW)
Astara - YOWSERS 3 weeks ahead. They can't tell by feeling your belly. Unfortunatly being on the bigger side, its not as easy they need to do an u/s to be sure. My dr. doesn't even say anything just says OK your doing great see ya in 2 weeks. Hey why can't you drink milk with your eggs? I am ALWAYS drinking milk with everything. Go through 3-4 glasses a day easily. Does it not let you digest the protien?
Hi everyone else -
I am doing great, we go for our hospital tour tonight and CANT WAIT!! We had our bedroom repainted and it looks like a magazine bedroom. Now just to find the right furniture and I will be in business! I also ordered the baby's bedding finally. http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/kli/kli1500beds-big.jpg It should get here next week. I can't wait to see how it looks in the room. Although we dont have the furniture in there yet. I found a changing table I really liked from Target, but they dont have one on display, and I dont want to order it with out seeing it in person. Not to mention its 100 bucks for shipping - NO THANKS. back to the drawing board with that.

shushy Oh, I see.. well maybe it was my own belly measuring big for me then! :) ~whew~ never thought that would make me feel good! lol The OB I had said it was too much protein at once, and I suppose it wont let you digest the amount you need bc there is too much? mm i want some milk now. I LOVE the baby's bedding you guys have chosen.. SO CUTE!!!! will there be nursery pics once its finished?? :) :D
Just for you red.. Here is a BAD close up shot from 28 weeks. I will have DH take one of me tonight so its more current (and a little faurther away).. if i can ever find my camera charger..

Astara - I never heard that your body can't digest that much protien. I am taking bradelys method and they want you to eat up to 40grams for b-fast so that would include milk!!! I heard that you can't digest more than 500mg of calcium at one sitting, but not protien. I will look into that more. because if thats the case, I will never get enough protien in
OH and I will post nursery pics as soon as ANYTHING comes in. I can't wait. I hope that bedding doesn't clash with our lime green walls I don't want to repaint that room

shushy cute picture! :).. well I know that calcium absorbs iron as well.. and thats one reason why I cant drink milk with eggs, but she also said something about it being too much protein. Maybe I have it wrong, thats just what I figured she ment.. :)

Hi! Sorry I haven't been around in a while. I was on vacation all last week in sunny Florida :).
I'm at 10w1d now. It seems to be flying by. My pants are starting to feel a little tight already. I ordered a bunch of clothes from JC Penney yesterday and one pair of jeans from the gap. Does anyone know if any JC Penney stores carry plus size maternity? The two store's I've checked (one in my town and one in FL) only had regular sizes. I'm hoping everything fits. I ordered 2X in pants because my hips are wide and 1X in the tops since I'm smaller up top. I normally wear an 18/20.
I'm going to a maternity/baby fair in my town tomorrow. The lady at the motherhood maternity store told me that they gave away car seats and crib sets as door prizes last year. I'm hoping maybe I'll win some cool stuff :).
DH and I are also seriously considering buying a house. We first looked at it about a week before I found out I was PG. It's a new house and it's the very last one in the subdivision. We looked at it on Wednesday night (it just happened to be open) and called about it first thing Friday morning. Well, it turns out some kids (they think) went into it and set the carpet on fire! So they've been working on it since then repairing it.
They had to replace all of the duct work because of the smoke damage. All of the carpet, appliances, linoleum in the kitchen and the sheetrock. Well they finally got it all finished and we looked at it on Monday and it looks fantastic! We have another appointment to look at it tomorrow with our parents and then afterwards we hope to make a final decision. I'm so excited :) :)

solongtogo What a cute picture!!
I took a test this morning and it was negative. :( I'm hoping that I just tested too early; my last cycle was REALLY long. I've been having some pressure in my abdoment and getting "unsettled' during the day (not queasy but it feels like I could throw up at any time).
I did have a dream last night about getting MS at work. Not the funnest dream, but I'd love it to come true!!

I've heard Lane Bryant/Fashion bug sells plus size maternity clothes. I haven't needed to buy them (yet) but they look pretty stylish. I do like the way Lane Bryant fits me. And since the stores are sister companies; I'd kind of expect the same from Fashion Bug.
I know you can look at it online but I'm not sure if they have physical stores.

Chimichanga- I don't know about the maternity clothes from FB, but I thought Lane Bryant's quality was a lot better. I ordered some stuff online a few months back and the shirt was so thin you could see straight through it. I took it back to a store that was about an hour away and while I was there I looked at other clothes. They also seemed to not have as good quality as Lane Bryant. That's weird since they are both owned by the same people.

Lane Bryant does NOT sell maternity, unless it's a very new addition. They always tell you to go to FB. FB is not bad, but it's not the same quality as LB. If you buy from FB, buy things on sale or clearance because the life will not be as long as something of higher quality.
Astara
08-14-2005, 03:03 PM
Yeah and the clothes at FB always seem to look old lady-ish. On the other hand LB stuff is sometimes so impractical for everday wear so its hard if you just decide to buy the next size up like me.

Hey RED bring those photos over here too. We need more baby pics in here.
I am doing great, but feeling overwhelmed a little today. I guess I am feeling the pressure of really needing to shop and get things in order for this baby. I thought I had it all figured out, until I went to order the crib and changing table and it was an online thing only and now I am back to square one! I am headed shopping after I take the dog in for her check up. I hope to have some things ordered by the end of the week.
I am not sure if I am getting a cold or if I have allergies (they just mowed the lawn and it could be from that). I was around a sick baby this weekend (didn't know he was sick until AFTER I was holding him - I would have been more careful)
Oh I should be getting the baby bedding any minute now :D that is pretty exciting! Also I am amazed at how beautiful our bedroom looks it is JUST PERFECT exactly what I wanted. I can't wait till its done. I no longer have a journal, I might post a pic or two when its all done I am so proud of the changes!!!
OK, off to find something to eat and get the dog ready for her shots. See ya all later.

Hi girls! Wow! I've been out of the loop!
Love the belly pics! And simply adore all the baby pics!!
Before I do any S/O's I have to say a HUGE congrats to Red I'm so excited to see you're suffering through ms!!! LOL! It'll go away soon, and if you're like me, you actually have a love/hate thing going on with ms. Love to have ms because our hormones are doing what they are supposed to, and hate it because, well, no one likes to be sick!
I started wearing maternity clothes full time at 14 weeks, and part time (pants only) at 10 or 11 weeks. My mom said I just started to show early like she did. I do have to say that I started looking PG around 18 weeks in most clothes, and at 20/22 weeks, totally PG look going on by then! (now the belly keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger)
Wish I had some pics to share, but I haven't really had any taken! :o

Jenny~ Your welcome for the link, not only did I find some GREAT maternity, but also work and casual clothes that I had no idea existed. I'm happy to share my secret :) My Clomid is going ok, this is my 4th month on it and my OB has not uped it to 100mg yet. She said I was simulating enough on 50mg, and my side effects have been hot flashes and crabbiness. I notice I have a lot of CM towards the end of it, which I have heard is not normal because most women get dried out. Also I get some headaches, but that could just be stress. I hope yours works for you :)
Ok, so I'm freakin exhausted! We have BD'd everyday since last tuesday!!!! I didn't buy the OPK's this month so we wanted to make sure we covered the window of time correctly. Luckily we made it fun and it didn't seem as much like a chore as other months, but dang I'm tired and glad O is over. This unfortunately is the time when we stop doing it until AF comes because we are tired. Makes me wonder if I O late and we are missing it by doing that? Hmmmm...

Girls, I am feeling really nervous. I don't know how many times I can post that in one thread...LOL...I am overwhelmed with the thought of TTC. I have been for about 2 weeks. I just can't stop thinking about it, reading about it, talking about it. I've started taking some herbs to see if they can help me out. Just drinking some teas mainly. MrsSmith - I was like that too. be careful how much green tea you drink (there was a new study that showed it doesn't allow your body to absorb folic acid, which you should be taking while TTC) Its hard not to be, you come on here and find out there is all this STUFF you can do. Like charting, OPKs, and stuff. Most important to just BD as much as possible! Good luck.
Dan's*Girl Hope you cought the egg. I was always worried about missing the timing or what ever. I was obsessed with charting and would stare at my chart for days after I thought I Oed.

jennylou HI!
AstaraHI!
***********supers sticky extra strong baby dust to everyone****************
ME- Hangin in there. Last night was the first night I actually SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT. OMG it feels SO GOOD THIS MORNING. Only slept till 5am, but HEY usually I am up around 2 and thats it, only 3-4 good hrs of sleep. So I feel better. Yesterday I was walking around like a nut job, some kind of complete zombi!
I have to pick out a crib and am having a hard time because I oribinally had my heart set on a non-moving parts crib. but after reading some reviews online, I read that a lot of kids teething chew on the crib, and there aren't any teething covers for those cribs. Not to mention its hard to get the mobile on them too. So I feel like I have to reconsider the knee push kind? With the lack of sleep I feel unable to make a decision.
We also redid our bedroom ( I think I mentioned this before) but we finally have the furniture narrowed down. So that made me happy, one less frustrating decision out of the way.
I am feeling like a beached whale these days. My legs have never been fatter in my LIFE. I can't describe the amount of grossness I feel looking at myself hips down, I just keep thinking it took me so long to get pg and keep my pgcy, that I am fine with all the cellulite. I can always go back to the gym, but the baby is a real miracle! I just LOVE being pg, but hate how my legs have changed (I am sure that is due to what I have been eating and NOT the baby!)
Anyway thats my update, hope everyone else is doing well.

Hey girls,
Thanks for the encouragement. I'm hoping that my nerves don't ruin it for me. I've just been praying and trying to stay motivated for a positive outcome.
Shushyk - I've been drinking Dong Qaia tea, but I'm going to cut that regiment out almost immediately. It causes MAJOR insomnia for me. I'm talking about not being able to sleep for 2 days straight
You just have a little more to go! Glad to hear you're getting some rest. You'll need it soon ;)
Dotsie

MrsSmith Try drinking grapefruit juice and taking a few doses of regular Robitussin. I tried for 2 cycles before getting pg with my DS. The 1st cycle I didn't use either the grapefruit or the Robitussin. The 2nd cycle I did and I got pg. I don't know if it's coincidence or not but I am a believer. The juice and the guaifinessin (robitussin) supposedly makes your ewcm more plentiful which makes it easier for the sperm to reach the egg.
I know it's hard not to get too hyped about ttc. I am very amped about it. The more I think about it the more nervous I get.

MrsSmith - are you on clomid? I noticed your stats said you were going to be because of PCOS. Dry CM is pretty common. I recommend tons and tons of water. It's the only thing that helps for me.
shushky - hiya girl! Glad to hear you are doing well. :)
solongtogo - since you're having a c/s here is my advice: use a pillow for everything that first week or so. To get up, to cough, to sneeze, to laugh, etc. It'll help with the "guts are falling out" feeling. If you are going to breast feed, take your boppy to the hospital....you need the extra support it offers when you can't offer it. GL to you and can't wait to see pics of C girl. :)

Hi Ladies! I'm almost 12 weeks now :D which I can't believe.
I think I'm about to the point of wearing maternity pants full time. I wore "regular" pants today and can't wait to get home and change.
I got my stuff from JC Penney the other day and so far their clothes and Motherhood seem to work the best. I drove over an hour to the only Gap store in my state to get there and find they only carry Maternity clothes up to a 14. I only saw one pair of jeans that were over a 14  . They didn't even have any XXL stuff either.
I had an ultrasound on last Thursday and got to see the baby moving around. It was a truly awesome experience. One that seems like I've waited forever for. So here is the picture from it.

Dotsie - With that regimen are you drinking Robittusin every day? twice a day? every hour? Is it regular robitussin or a particular flavor or potency? I'll give it a shot. I'm not a fan of medicine, but that seems to be how it's going
for me :( Plus, it just seems so much more sure that I'll get preggo with all this stuff in my system to make it happen. That's a little weird to think about also. I don't know. I'm trying to remain calm and optimistic, yet cautious at the same time.
Jenny - Actually, I haven't taken it yet because I'm waiting to cycle. I'm trying herbal remedies to start my cycle right now. When it starts, I'll just call the doc and she'll call in the script. However, if my cycle hasn't started by the middle of next month, I'll have to take some medicine to bring it down. I am REALLY trying to avoid this. :(
ajb - congrats on your first ultrasound! You're looking good. I can definitely see a baby in there :D Hopefully, you'll be able to find some more cute maternity clothes soon. Have you had to search for bras yet? That'll be my struggle when the time comes.

MrsSmith I start drinking about 24 oz of regular grapefruit juice the day after my period is over. That is also when I start taking the regualr Robitussin. This is what I found on the web. The site is www.fertilityplus.org
What kind of Robitussin is used to improve cervical mucus?
One should buy the plain kind with no letters after it. The only active ingredient is guaifenesin, and it contains 100 mg per teaspoon. It is very important to avoid the versions that contain decongestants as those may dry up cervical mucus.
Like this website said. I used the ones with no letters on it. It really does help. I took 2 teaspoons every 6 hours.

Astara- I found that Motherhood's pants seemed to run on the small size :(. I can normally wear an 18 in normal clothes and figured a 1x would fit from there, but in pants I had to get a 2x. Maybe it's just me though. I've also noticed that they seemed to have shrunk a little after washing a couple of times.
MrsSmith- Luckily I haven't had to Bra shop yet. All my normal bra's are still working since I don't think my bb's have grown that much. I know it's just a matter of time though ;).

motherhood i have had both experiences with their clothes... i have a long jean skirt and a pair of khaki shorts that are 2x and i have been swimming in them... where as i bought a pair of 2x khaki capris from them that are getting very tight...
over all i think i have liked jc penny's fit better.. though they have this annoying thing where they have the band under belly style pants.. but they dont sew the fabric of the band to the elastic... so it gets all twisted up... its driving me crazy.. ive started trying to sew them in myself

When I was pg with my DS everyone told me about Motherhood shirts and how they would get too small as you got bigger. They were right. Back then I wasn't a plus size. I started out a size medium and at the end of my pregnancy I was an extra large. Their shirts always seemed really short in the front. The front panel of my pants would show and I hated that!!!

Hi there! I see a few familiar names from WC!!! I am 6 weeks pg, and already a plus size. The three years of TTC has taken it's toll on my weight, and I have gained about 40 pounds since I got married in 2001... Now that I am pregnant (Yipeeeeee!!!) I have been eating really well, and while I am not dieting, I have lost 4 pounds since I found out. All those crazy books out there have me all worried about gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia, especially since I have the added risk of being 40, so I am trying to stay calm, eat well, and grow this little bean as best I can! My due date is April 24, 2006.
Tray, thanks for those codes.. I just ordered a bunch of tops for 6.98... I agree - that's quite a bargain, and hoping I can use them for working, since many of my things are not that comfortable any more.
Here's my stats:
Me: Kimmiebride (40) WC name: Kimmiebride
DH: Wubs (40)
Married:7/28/2001

all is well with me. Feeling a bit excited but still no real desire to get the house together or to DO a lot. I think I am just tired though. I would like the energy to kick in like a turbo booster any day now :o but all in all I am happy things are getting done (just SLOWER than I normally do things). OUr new bedroom furniture will be delivered tomorrow, the crib should be in fri or next week some time. I can get those two rooms done and I can start setting up the babys room!!! YAY!

shushy I really am not that nervous anymore (I will probably just be nervous when the actual time comes).. now I just can't wait.. I actually find myself daydreaming about my water breaking and everything... I am 33 weeks and 2 days~ how exciting for us!!! :) I know what you mean about being slow.. I am the same way. Yay on the baby furniture coming in.. are you going to post pics once you get everything all set up??!
trying to get ready to go swimming soon.. I tried making a 'Due in October' shirt today with glittery letters..(iron on) and I messed that up. So I wasted most of my morning on that. It would have been cute too~ oh well.. i ordered a motherhood maternity shirt and its WAYYYY too big. oops.. def. makes me feel good though! I'll have to send it back for a smaller size.. hopefully it comes soon.. I was bad and oredered 3 more shirts from that site. I need clothes! :)

Astara oooh swimming - NO WAY could I get myself to go out in public right now :o  I need a few more shirts so I just went to ross (the plus sizes) and got a few that look maternity but are LONG for my belly. Now I need one or two more pairs of pants, its just 5Weeks left, I can probably get away with what I have when I put it like that
I am really nervous what my body will look like after the baby. I totally stopped working out (with all the m/cs I had) and now I am all flabby everywhere! luckily DH said he would go on WW with me after the baby was born so we can both lose some weight. we really want to have our weight under control so we can try to pass good eating habbits to our kids.
Yeah I guess I am no longer worried about delivery as much as I am excited now! sorry about your shirt that does sound like it would have been cute!

shushy I go swimming with DH's nana at the comftor inn.. It's only her and some of her older friends there.. They are so sweet~ I love them all! :) I'm pretty much the only young one there! I have totally stopped working out too save the pool. I can't wait to work out hardcore once I have the baby. It will feel so good to not have cravings and be able to work out hard again..I cant wait!
I did something embaressing yesterday..
I was watching one of those baby shows on discovery health and it said something about and abruption. I thought I remembered the lady who did my 3-D u/s say I had it. But I never thought anything of it bc I didnt know what it was. So I called my OB office and told them.. they seem to be kind of annoyed bc i didnt say anything and ive had 2 appts since then.. the nurse tells me there isnt anything they can do unless I have a written report. So I have DH call the 3-D lady (this is what I should have done in the first place before calling the OBO but I was in panic mode.) to see if she rememberes us.. She does and says that I have an anterior placenta.. not an abruption. She said she would have said something and told me to go to my doctors if that was the case. She was really nice about it and kind of chuckled and said "where did she come up with that?" DH told her I watch baby shows and talk on baby msg boards.. she said "Oh no! thats not good :) " eheh I guess cuz this kind of thing happens. Anyways I am embaressed that I called my OB.. I just wasnt thinking clearly. They could of been a little bit nicer though. Anyone else have any kind of similar experiance with their DR.. it would make me feel better! :)

Hi ladies!! For soem odd reason I havne't been getting notifications for this thread, so I've completely slacked. Welcome to the new members and to those newly TTC!!
I have a question for those who've been through pregnancy - when did you first hear the heartbeat with the doppler at the dr's? My dr. tried last week and we couldn't hear anything, and it's really freaking me out, even though I knew it would be hard to hear because of my large quantity of "insulation" ;) I have an appt. with my new ob next week (i'll be 13 weeks) and i so want to hear the heartbeat!!

Harumph, my damn doc at the time told me it was too early to try and hear it. I got to hear it at my 18 week u/s. Then, my next appt was at 22 weeks and she FINALLY used the doppler.

just wanted to add that the more form fitting maternity shirts made you look 'more pregnant' than just the baggyish t-shirt.
for a long time being plus sized I was afraid of ANYTHING clingy now I try and play up that I do have a smaller waist and bust and buy clothes that fit those areas well and it tends to take the focus away from the parts I don't like. I'm thinking that will be my cue for when I am pregnant to not go baggy just b/c nothing is fitting quite right and embrace the expanding waist and boobies.

ooooh thanks :D you like my shirts!!
Target (green one)
Pink is from motherhood.
I don't know if either place still has them, I got them in the begining of the season.
I just want to say about the form fitting clothes, they are great when you get bigger. but in the beggining it really looks funny. AND you will end up buying a second wardrobe at the end of your pg. I am in my 9th month and hardly any of my pants fit, and most of my shirts (even the really lose ones) are too short. Oh and that green top and pink top were both really loose in the first 2 trimesters. Not till the end of the 2nd trimester did they get more form fitting.

I got my fashion bug stuff yestereday, and the tops are soooo cute! I can't wait to show more so I can wear them, but I am sure I'll be wearing them now too! The only thing that's changed for me so far (7w3d) is that my pants that zip are too tight, and my boobs are HUGE! I have passed the point I was where I had my breast reduction 6 years ago, and there's no stopping them. I went to try on bras at Macy's on Monday, and couldn't find any that fit that were comfortable. I think I might just live in tank tops with built in bras as long as I can...
Shushyk, I have a question... how do you deal with people being annoyed that you have decided to find out the sex of your baby when it's born? We have told a few people, who immediately ask is it a boy or girl or are you going to find out, and when we say no, it's going to be a surprise, and they all sort of harumph off... I long for the days when MOST people didn't find out, so they could understand our wanting to be surprised. It's not that we don't want to know... it's that we want to be surprised!

So ladies...had a horrible run in with my *new* ob today. Full story in my journal, but let's just say I will not be going back. He was a complete arsehole about my weight, and made the appt. hell. I was so in shock i couldn't reply. First thing tomorrow morning I'm calling the local midwives and begging them to take me on ;)
What I was wondering is, did any of your dr's every give you grief over your size? My previous dr was fabulous, my weight was never an issue. i realize being overweight is a cause for increase risks, but other than my weight, i'm as healthy as a horse. Seriously, my b/p, bloodwork, heart...all perfect. I'm a non-smoker, non-drinker, and other than my weight take good care of myself, and I was in the process of losing when I got pg. PCOS did a number on my body, and unfortunately weight was one of my major issues. This guy totally didn't get it, he even made the comment that "You must have eaten pretty crappy to be like this". WTF?! so yeah....he was a pretty big dickwad ;)
We did hear Lucky's heartbeat though, and it was a wonderful wonderful sound :D

red I just have to say that I am praying you can get the hell away from that doctor!! My OB just said that this time around we are going to aim for a lower weight gain since I am bigger starting then I was last time. She was very positive in telling me how I could best eat healthy but not diet to stay on top of things. She pointedly told me that I cant diet and the main concern is just eating healthy with no cuts in carbs, etc. There are increased risks with being overweight, but with #1 I wasnt "overweight" and still got PIH and Pre-e. Ugh, dickard is way too nice of a word to describe that doc!

Red My Dr's have never said anything about my being overweight & if they said anything like your DR is saying to you, I would have def switched asap. You dont have to be an olympic gymnist (like some books or DR's would like you to be believe) in order to have a healthy pregnancy. It just makes me so angry that you were treated like this!! What a horrible doctor that guy is. If he is like that at your first appointment.. just wonder what he would be like while your in labor! what an ass!!!!!

Red, sorry for his royal dickness... Man, I hate doctors like that! Not sure if I posted it in this thread, but I changed RE's because he said I was too old and too fat to ever get pregnant, and if I wanted to even try I should go right to IVF as it was my only chance, and not a good one at that... Major a-hole. When I started seeing my wonderful doctor, we had a plan right away, and voila, here I am - pregnant on a break from the meds. Now I have to leave her and go to the regular OB's again. I am terrified, but I enlisted the help of a friend of a friend who is an OB for Kaiser, and knows everyone in this practice. She sent a note to one of her friends, and so hopefully I won't get blasted for starting out a little fluffy. I haven't gained any weight since I found out I was pg, and have been eating really well. I am almost 8 weeks. I am worried about GD and PIH/Pre-e, and am trying to do everything I can to give this little one a really good chance. People who discriminate against otherwise healthy overweight people really suck!!!
hugs,
Kimmie

thanks for the support ladies. I've ditched the dick, and have gotten an appt with a local midwives group, which I am super happy about. I cannot wait to go in and see them!
In other news (god, what would I do without this group?) I start classes today. I was thinking about which lecture halls I would be in this semester when it hit me that for a few of my classes I'll be in the old school style chairs with desk attached (http://www.designboom.com/history/transformer/stool/d3.jpg) and with my non-baby belly I just fit in comfortably. There is no way that my 5-6 month baby belly will fit! How embarrasing :p I'm going to have to creatively problem solve this one.
How is everyone else doing?

We had our Jack & Jill shower on Saturday.. WOW.. we got so much stuff. I am still going through it all. The clothes from the shower alone fill an adult sized hamper that we got! I have to sort the colors so we can wash them.. we still have all the clothes in the nursery to do too! SFIL made us a gorgeous bassinett.. that matches the bed set he made us for our wedding. It's so awesome! I also got a great full body belly shot at our shower too.. I'll be back to post some pictures as soon as I get some! :) Hope everyone's having a great week.. we need conversation in here.. this thread is lonely!~

Andrea - you're looking great.
Dan's girl - good luck with the 2 WW. :)
Astara - get those pics soon!
As for me, 6 dpo here. I hate the 2WW. I think I might test on Sunday, which is 10 dpo. I'm not overly anxious this cycle, which is refreshing. I figure if it's not the one, it's fine. I want to lose 10 pounds by Halloween. If I'm not pregnant then, I want to lose another 10 pounds by Thanksgiving. If I'm still not pregnant I want to lose another 10 pounds by Christmas. Right now I'm just with the OB. If I'm not pregnant by Christmas, I'll schedule an appointment with the RE at that point.
I'm 20 pounds under my pre pregnancy weight, so I figured clomid would be working better this time...no dice, yet!

Speaking of clothes was anyone disappointed with their Fashion bug order?
The stuff I got was SO off color to what I thought I was buying and the pants one is like thin shiney polyester yucky looking and the other are like a pair of peg bundy married with children stretch pants. I feel like I got Dinked.
I'll make sure to shop in the store going forward

I wasn't happy with all of my FB stuff either, but most of it worked ok... the pants that were supposed to be "twill" were cotton t-shirt material, and a couple of the tops were way to small, and some fit just fine... go figure. The things were like $6 each, so I am not sending back either.

FB clothes Yeah I've been to the store a couple of times and it seems like all of their clothes are junk. You might get lucky and find one good thing but for the most part it's junky and old ladyish.. their sizes seem to run pretty small to me too.
Shush I will post pics ASAP.. I just hope my friend that has all the good pics will make me a picture cd soon!~ I will post a couple of pics I took off my camera of the stuff I got though.. probably tonight :)

YES! YES! YES! Our planned TTC time is next month and today I started CD1 so I feel like it is officially here. When things like predicting an EDD are possible it gets VERY real. I have been worrying a lot over the last few months if everything is in order. Is my health where I want it? I'm not to the weight I wanted to be :( . DH didn't get a new (closer) job yet. Do I want to be pg without him nearby everyday? Millions of things running through my head.
Today I am off to my neurologist to possibly get Botox injections to help with my migraines. His plan for me is to give me the injection, let me go TTC and in 3 months if I haven't gotten pg I'll get them again. And the cycle will continue. This will hopefully keep me off of my meds. But then, I'm nervous as heck about what my life will be like without my meds and WITH all these headaches. Will I be a good vessel for this baby??
good grief. I'm with you Lynzey.

Hula - When I got pregnant last year, DH was working anywhere from 45 minutes on a good traffic day to much longer (especially in the snow). He found a new job, less than five minutes from home when I was about halfway through my pregnancy. Even though he's far now, he can still keep looking and hopefully, find something closer before you get close enough to worrying about going into labor. Good luck to you!

Hey ladies!!
AJB and shusyk - beautiful bellies! I know you can't wait to meet your little ones.
Jenny - I hope that you get a BFP pretty soon. If not, losing weight is always a good plan. I'm actually on the same page. I'm going to postpone my TTC date to December because of my starting a new job. So, I hope to lose about 15 pounds before then. Wish me luck!
Lynzey - I think I got a little nervous because hubby didn't seem as committed as I wanted. He was nervous and scared just like I was, but we showed it differently. So, that made it a little rough for me. I actually feel great about starting in December though. I think I'll be completely ready by then. :)

We're starting in January b/c I don't want to be 40 weeks prego in Sept when it’s still hot as B@LL$ as my husband so eloquently puts it. Perhaps we'll have kids around the same time would be awfully fun to have a PG buddy.

Well AF arrived last week and we're on to another cycle now. I'm getting rather sick of ttc. I know it hasn't been that long this time, but we have basically been charting-pregnant-charting for over two years with nothing to show for our efforts save for a few pictures.
I'm hoping to actually lose a few more pounds. I was able to wear a few XL shirts during my last pregnancy and would love to fit into all XL. Might be too much to hope for, but I want cute clothes!

While I really wanted to try for these next few months, it just wouldn't make sense right now. It would be really irresponsible to go forward right now knowing that I won't have the type of time off that I'd really want and need. So, I made the tough choice. Thanks for the support ;)
I understand what you mean about getting sick of TTC. While we've only been 'actively trying' for a few months, but it's been the source of a little tension for me. When we were just seeing what happens, there was no pressure. Even though we were a little concerned about what might have been going on, there wasn't the same pressure. It's weird. When you do what's supposed to make you preggo and it doesn't happen, all sorts of tension and feelings come into play that you didn't even know you had. It's much more frustrating than just pretending nothing is wrong. Anyway...I'm starting to ramble...I guess that's why I need a journal...LOL...I don't have one. I just never started one since I erased mine on WC. I was hoping to start it off with some good news, like a BFP. Otherwise, I think I'm pretty boring. :o

Red - sorry about the headaches...I had horrible ones while pregnant.
All of you made me laugh. The obsession level is a wee bit too high to stop temping until after Hawaii! Also, after discussion with DH, he's of the mindset that he doesn't care if we miss the cruise, he just wants to get me pregnant...the sooner the better. Hopefully, it'll be this cycle because this is getting aggravating!
