I have a question. I had my cd 13 u/s this morning and had one mature follicle. I triggered at 7:45 AM and the nurse said to BD tomorrow evening. DH & I will not be together tomorrow evening because he has a show that he cannot get out of. So the nurse said go ahead with tonight & as early as possible on Sunday AM.
My question is, how long after trigger can I expect to O? I've heard it's something between 12-36 hrs? Does anyone have a more definitive answer?
This was always a confusing one for me too. I was always told ovulation occurs around 12 hours. But 12-36 hours seems to be what alot of the ladies at SAI have been told. If I triggered in the morning my instructions were to bd that night and the next morning...basically 2 times in 24 hours. But I did find that when I asked, there were slightly different responses as far as bd instructions were concerned. Maybe ask at SAI too.

It's normally 36 hours. Each of my IUIs were scheduled 36hrs after the trigger--and those instructions were the same at both the clinics I went to. I thought the "Oing 12-36hrs later" was just for OPKs?
I too was told ovulation occurs approx 36 hours after triggering, with a range of 12 hours in either direction. I triggered on a Wednesday morning, ovulated Friday, and with BD'ing Wed, Thurs, and Fri nights conceived DD. :)

I was triggered on a Tuesday around noon, then was told to BD that night, the next night and the morning after..so BD on Tuesday night, Wednesday night and Thurs morning. DD was conceived sometime in that period. :-)
DD was conceived sometime in that period.
Not to be a huge PITA, but technically, with any ovulation, including triggered ovulation, fertilization doesn't necessarily occur right away. A woman can trigger Tuesday noon, ovulate Thursday noon, and the sperm that ends up fertilizing the egg could get to it early Friday morning (sperm don't all head straight for the tubes right away, most hang out in cervical crypts and a steady stream heads north). Eggs are fertilizable for up to 24 hours after they're released. So, the poster's DD was conceived from BDing Tues night - Thurs morning, true, but not necessarily actually "conceived during" that period.
Ok, I've gotten in my nitpicky post for the day and can rest easy now. ;)

BTB you crack me (in a good way, of course!).
Ok, so 36 hours seems to be the norm. My next question is, can it happen later? I think the stress from moving delayed O for me till Tuesday or maybe even Wednesday. I never get EWCM several days after O and this cycle I did have a nice gob on Tuesday PM which was 4.5 days post trigger. Plus, mty bb's start getting sore usually 5-7 days post O. This time they didn't till 10 DPO which makes me think that O was delayed. Today is cd28 so either she shows tomorrow or I'll know for sure O was delayed. It would be better timing anyway.
