Does anyone know where all those 10% off at Home Depot coupons that are going like hotcakes on Ebay are coming from? I bought 4 back in January and used them all with no problems (the cashier even checked with the manager the last time) and I just bought more to use. There are literally thousands of them up for auction. I'm just curious. They're not the moving coupons either.

How do you tell the difference between those and the moving coupons?

The moving ones look like this:

These other ones look like this:

I looked at a few auctions and the one seller says the coupon is free and you are paying her for the effort of finding them. I wonder if they have home depot credit cards and these coupons come in the statement?

Beats me. The seller I got them from has sold at least 3000 of them and there are about 5 others selling them too. At first I thought they were reproductions but I'm sure Home Depot would've put a stop to it by now. It sure didn't take Old Navy long to pick up on those $5 coupons ;)

Just to let you know - the reason the seller put on there that you are paying for her time is because there is some sort of law/regulation that says you can't sell coupons. I sold some coupons on ebay and I had to put the same thing.

I have a question about those 10% off moving coupons - we got and used one of these when we moved into our house 3 years ago. Has anyone used the coupon more than once - requested another one to your address and used it at the same store? Or does Home Depot keep track?
We're about to spend $$$$ on windows at HD and I'd love to save some cash.
Thanks!

I had the first one sent to our old address, and it got forwarded to us. I'm going to send for a new one in a few weeks, I'll let you know if they catch on to it.
Some people have said that Lowe's accepts the Home Depot coupons, too.

bea_mama, you can try signing up for the Home Depot moving coupons again using a different e-mail address or maybe have them sent to someone else's house. I remember I got two of them somehow.
If that doesn't work, you can always get the ones from Ebay. I just order 4 for 5.98 plus .37. Like I said before, they seem to be legit and even the manager at Home Depot okayed it. It's just a matter of how long they'll accept them.

FYI: Home Depot accepts Loew's 10% off coupons.
If you go to Loews.com you can request a moving coupon with an email or mailing option.
I had them email me the coupon to print myself. I printed a ton of them and just take the printout to HD whenever I go there. I've never once had a problem having them accept them.

I got a Home Depot gift card of an unknown denomination when I attended a Seattle Mariner's baseball game last month. They gave them out to the first several thousand people to enter the stadium. When I went to HD to check the value on the cards DH & I got at the game, they were only worth $1 each.
Anyway, these were gift CARDS, not paper gift certificates like someone posted a picture of above...so not the same thing. But maybe those gift certs. were given out at some sort of event as a promotional thing, or something. Just an idea.

I had a moving coupon sent to my home address and my work address. Both worked but it takes about 3-4 weeks to receive it.
Jodi - I tried the Lowes thing, but it never came! :(

That's strange - my e-mail came the next day.

We filled out moving cards for the "family" (DH and me together, same last name) and then for just me in my maiden name. For that, we got 2 Lowe's moving coupons. The previous owners of our house had a boatload of names to register. The coupons all came to the house after we took ownership and they were all addressed to "[Former Owner] Or Current Resident." Being that we were "Current Resident," it was ok for us to open them and use them. As a result, we ended up with 7 Lowe's coupons. All of which worked. We used some at Lowe's and some at HD. They didn't care how many times you had used a coupon...
I might try to print a coupon from Lowe's tonight...we're going to be buying a bunch of stuff on Thursday and Saturday, so it might be handy to have!

I just went to the Lowe's site and registered for a moving coupon - when I submitted the information it said I would receive my coupon either by email or mail. If I gave them an email address (I did), will they email it to me?
I hope we get it and can use it more than once. We just spent $250 on driveway sealer at Home Depot this week and I would have loved to get 10% off!

I signed up for a Lowes coupon that never arrived either. It's very frustrating, as we could really use it now! I may try to sign up for another one ... I wish I could remember what info I used last time so I could change it a little for this one!

Hubby and I moved in January. Since the move, we have gotten the non-moving style of 10% off coupons from both Home Depot and Lowes, and 20% coupons from BBB and Linens & Things just about every month since. We've used some of them, but only when we actually needed something. The ones we didn't use I gave to friends to use. They just keep sending them to us!

Here's what I get when I register at www.lowes.com/moving. But I never receive anything in the mail or email:
Registration Confirmation
Thank you for responding to Lowe's New Mover 10% Savings Coupon offer!
Check back often as special information, new offers and promotions designed for our registered movers are added frequently.
Your New Mover 10% Savings Coupon offer is being processed. Your coupon will be delivered via email or U.S. postal mail in 5-7 days. If sent to your email address, you will be able to print out your valid coupon for purchases at any Lowe's store.
Is there another address that you use to register for this coupon?

vwinkel: I registered on-line at Lowe's yesterday and got my printable coupon via email today. But, it ended up in my bulk mail folder (I use yahoo for email). If you have a spam blocker, maybe it's getting blocked? Or check your bulk folder.
Alternatively, sign up for a yahoo address that you will only use for special offers if you don't mind doing that.
So, now I have my 10% off Lowes Coupon!! I think we might use it on windows. It does say that it is a one-time use coupon, but if I can use it at Home Depot as well I'll be happy! I wonder if Home Depot keeps track of the special one-time use only code on the coupon. Hmmm.

Just had this evil thought - Since Home Depot takes the Lowe's coupons. What is to stop us from making copies of the email coupons and using them multiple times at Home Depot? (besides the morals thing).
The one I received has an expiration of 9/1. I'm planning on many painting projects this month. So I could use it at Lowe's for the one time usage thing, then use my copies at Home Depot multiple times whenever I need a new paintbrush or whatever. Right?
If this is the case, there's no need to buy them on ebay. Maybe we should sell our email ones on ebay??
