Yeah its been really painful to watch lately. Last night's game was just horrendous-El Duque tanked. Glavine is just terrible these days though-WTF???. Beltran-I can't even discuss him-enough with the knee already-just hit the damn ball like you get paid to do!!!

I really don't mind the losses bc, like you said, they are still in 1st place, but to lose to the Yankees makes it SO much worse. I had to come to work today and listen to all the gloating Yankee fans ... aughhh!!!!

we went to see a minor league game on sunday. the binghamton mets vs the trenton thunder (yanks minor league team). it was alot of fun. endy chavez played for binghamton during his rehab assignment.

sem426, it probably helps that Tim Teufel (2nd baseman for '86 Mets) is an old family friend. We're basically family in the way his parents and my parents feel about each other (before his dad passed).

I swear I'm not trying to be snarky when I post this article (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/02/opinion/02tue4.html) from today's NY Times about sporting grief. I know from experience... the pain is real. I was physically ill when my college team blew it in the regional finals a couple of years ago; I called out of work the next day.

Again, I am sorry, guys. I'm just as shocked as the rest of New York. Never saw this coming. I love Willie and hope he doesn't get thrown under the bus.

I hope Willie gets axed, although from today's reports it looks like that won't happen. I can't stand him (and not just bc he was a former Yankee:)) He has made awful decisions throughout the whole season. That's not to say it's all his fault we collapsed. Oh- our errors, pitching and lack of teamwork all contributed to that! :(
That article is so true. I give myself a stomach ache sometimes when I watch my teams play. College Football and Basketball are torturous!
I think this isn't "hurting" so much because it played out over a few weeks and i basically knew it was coming. Last year losing in Game 7 to St Louis stung more because I really thought we were going to win that game.

Well another disappointing seasong ending for the NY MEts :( I cant believe it to be honest. It is much more somber since they closed Shea Stadium doors yesterday and we cant go back!

I really just hope this team gets back on track and fast. Lots of work to do this winter for sure. Talk about a devastation.

I'm sad that there will be no more Shea but completely disgusted at our team.
I was at the game on Saturday and was so proud of Santana...he pitched a phenomenal game....and then I was at the game yesterday and was just appalled....Perez had a decent outing but we couldn't get the hits we needed to back him up...and then when we had to go to the bullpen, they could not deliver. What a shame.

I was glad to be at the final game at Shea, cannot believe I walked out of there for the last time ever. Felt very nostalgic for all of the memories we had there, but I guess its time for new ones at Citi Field....maybe thats what they need, a new stadium to help whip them into shape!
