View Full Version : Calling Cards in Mexico / Cabo San Lucas?

My bosses just bought into a timeshare in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They were down there last week, & now that they've bought in, they'll be going back frequently.

Their cell phone reception (their service is through Verizon) wasn't very good while they were down there. Verizon told them before their trip that they would probably only have service on the east side of town, but not the west (& of course their timeshare is located on the west side of town.)

So, they've asked me to look into calling card options so that they can make more affordble calls from their hotel room phone on future trips. They suggested that I contact our local phone provider, Qwest, to inquire about getting a calling card that would work in Mexico, but I'm thinking the best option is probably to purchase a calling card locally when they're there in Mexico next time. Does anyone know anything about this? I'm trying to figure out if this is something I can arrange for them in advance, or if I just need to tell them to buy a calling card when they get there. I've also suggested that we could look into renting them some local cell phones that would have better reception/coverage, but so far they don't seem to think that's worth pursuing, they're focused on the calling card idea right now. *shrug*

TIA for any suggestions!
