Tell me about your implantation spotting!

I woke up this morning to spotting at 10DPO...I have *never* experienced spotting before AF in my lifetime. I am using progesterone supps but they didn't cause spotting last time around. I also had some strange not-quite-AF-like cramping on an off today (concentrated in the morning, mostly). BFN this morning but I'm still hopeful.

Anyone else experience something similar and get a BFP?

I could have written your post, about 11 months ago. Spotting at 8 and 10dpo, really unusual for me. On progesterone, but no spotting the previous 7 months I'd taken it. And on 13dpo, a BFP. DD was 3 months old yesterday. Good luck!

I had implantation spotting at 9DPO. I don't think it even lasted 1/2 a day. I also had cramps very early after ovulation. I think they came while I was sleeping because they would go away soon after I woke up. I tested positive with an early result test at 11DPO. I did have spotting later on due to the prog. supps.. I didn't start them until after the BFP.

I had some very slight spotting at 10 and 11 DPO and I too had never had pre-AF spotting at that point in my cycle before. I tested on 10DPO and got a BFN but when I tested again on 12DPO I got a BFP.

Yep, I did! AF-ish cramps right around the time she was due, and about a week after. After the BFP, I kept running to the bathroom to check because even when you know they're normal, the cramps just *feel* worrisome.

My temp went down a bit this morning (but I did take my temp earlier than usual). But no AF when I woke up so I'm still in the clear for now. BFN today...maybe tomorrow will be the day?

I usually spotted right before my period (9 DPO), but the cycle I got pregnant, I started spotting at 7 DPO (continued to 11 DPO) with really bad cramps. I thought I'd just gotten AF earlier, but it never got bright red. But the cramps, etc. were so similar to AF, I thought for sure I wasn't pregnant. I got a BFN on 12 DPO and a positive on 15 DPO.

One more chiming in with AF-like cramps starting at about 8 DPO, and very light spotting at 11 and 12 DPO. I had my first (light!) BFP at 11 DPO, so when I saw that spotting I almost had a heart attack, thinking everything was over before it had begun, but thank God it didn't turn into AF. I also had a LOT of CM that looked like EWCM, very confusing, starting right after O and continuing.....well, still continuing now, going into my 6th month!

I had spotting at around 8 or 9 dpo, I didn't realize it was implantation spotting and thought af was here very early. But when the bleeding didn't continue I realized that's what it was even though I didn't get my bfp until around 18dpo and I was testing about every other day.

I don't know if mine was implantation spotting, but I had spotting at 5 & 6DPO and got a BFP at 13DPO (first day I tested) and +BPT on 14DPO. It got my attention because I had NEVER spotted mid-cycle in my 17 months of TTC, but then when I looked up more information about it, it seemed to early to be implantation spotting, so I ignored it.

I just got my BFP a few days ago and am in the "freak out" stage especially since I have a prior loss. So, I don't know how useful this information is...I just thought I'd add my 2 cents!

Today is 12 DPO and I got a BFN at 5am (when I woke up to go to the bathroom!). The good news is that after yesterday's temp drop, my temp went back up today!! The spotting stopped on Thurs afternoon, and was gone all day Friday, until the evening, when it came back a little bit. I thought for sure AF was going to arrive this morning....but nope. Maybe my BFP will be a little bit late. 12 DPO is still slightly early, so there's still hope!!

I had implantation spotting the morning of 7DPO. It was brown and there was very little of it, so I didn't think it was AF. I also had cramps 7-9DPO and I got my faint BFP today at 9DPO!

I had implantation spotting at 7DPO - started pretty strong, then slowly tapered off over a few days.

I got my BFP at 12 DPO. :)

I had some pinkish spotting on 7 and 8dpo, nothing on 9dpo, and then today on 10dpo I had bright red spotting this morning (I checked my cervix last night, so I think that could have been from irritation), and then again this afternoon. My temp stayed up today, though. Do you think the red spotting is a bad sign?

ps. I also had cramping on and off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and they are gone now. I tested BFN this morning.

I'm glad someone bumped up this thread because I have a question. DH and I are *planning* on starting TTC next month, but yesterday I told DH it was O time so we should get busy. We ended up DTD, but he ended up pulling out before fully finishing (some was obviously released). We both know that I could get pregnant by doing that, and we would be happy with that.

Now for my question: Today I've had normal EWCM, but about 5 minutes ago when I went to the bathroom it was streaked with red/brown and I have never had mid-month spotting before. Since its only been 24 hours since DTD, is this too early for it to be implantation spotting? Am I just reading too much into it since I want it so bad??

ETA: I just found this online so I guess its not the answer I want

There are no rules to implantation spotting other than it not occurring before 5 days after ovulation because the egg has to have 4-5 days to prepare and travel down the fallopian tubes into your uterus.

I had what I thought was implantation spotting on 8DPO, light brown and lasted for 1 day. I got a BFN at 10DPO and today at 14DPO :(. This is my first cycle off BCP so no clue what my cycle length should be. I have had the following symptoms for the last few days - backache, feeling like I have done about 500 crunches when I haven't worked out at all, lack of appetite, and some dizziness.

So my question is...is there still a chance for a BFP and has anyone had spotting around the same time as me and not gotten a BFP?

I had implantation spotting for the 2 days leading up to my BFP. Mine was more like brownish tinged cm. Sorry for TMI, but figure it might help someone out there trying to decifer if theirs is implantation spotting or not. ;)

I have had brown spotting from 9DPO to 12DPO (currently at 12 DPO) - guess I'm just trying to find out if there is still hope for this cycle. I've never had this much brown spotting before AF before. It's encouraging to hear that others did and got BFP at 15 and 16 DPO after stark white negatives before ... I have taken 2 $ store tests - one in the afternoon of 9 DPO and one late last night - couldn't even get an evap line! You ladies have given me some hope.

Does my spotting sound similar? I know it can still be (and probably is) nothing - but if anyone spotted for a few days before BFP, it would be great to hear the stories!

ETA - eh, I think I'm out. Brown is starting to turn to red - I think AF has decided to show her ugly face a little earlier this month.

DH and I are trying for our 3rd child. BD during ovulation (I don't chart because I have seem to have fairly regular cycles) The 13th was my last day of ovulation. Last night after some adult time ;) ;) I noticed some spotting (it was not a lot actually) and that was the only time. Is it too early for implantion bleeding? I read that there could also be some bleeding after sex when you are pregnant. AF is suppose to be here on the 25th.

I am starting to have some symptoms: sore BBs, hungary all the time, and some mild cramping. You know, after 2 kids you would think I would have this down!

I stopped taking my BC last cycle. This is my first cycle w/o any pills whatsoever (although last cycle I sure missed alot of them :rolleyes: )

Anywhoo, here is my question relating to this thread: DH and I BD'd 48 hours before O, then on said O day, and then the day after. About 5 DPO I started having some symptoms which would lead me to believe I may be PG. Then on 7 DPO, I woke up to bleeding and light cramps. I let all hope go, as the blood (sorry if TMI) was dark brown with red, and I read somewhere implantation bleeding is not red. Is this in fact true?

It is early for my period, and the bleeding has been so light and without any more cramping, and I am known for the worst periods. In fact, today, which would be day 3, I am stopping, if not already stopped.

Could this still be implantation bleeding? Or just a whacky cycle?

Could it be implantation spotting if you have brown spotting and very mild AF like cramping (I mean very mild) on only 4dpo/dpiui? It's probably not possible, but what is it then? Is it just all the extra hormones that were pumped into my body for iui?

I sometimes (but rarely) spot at around 11 or 12dpo (the day before AF starts), but I have never in my life had spotting so early. Actually, now that I'm writing this, I did one time have spotting for 2-3 days mid-cycle when I went off BCP and then started taking them again a month later. So I guess it is very probable that the extra hormones are playing tricks with my cycle!

I see you posted in the CBEFM thread, too--does that mean you know when you ovulated? When you say your period was due on 8/5, was that based on your ovulation day and your luteal phase length? Or was that based on the number of days in your cycle usually?

I ask because it's possible it could be implantation or a weird period. Without more info it's hard to make a guess!

Yep. I thought for sure that I was starting b/c it was reddish (after BD one night) and I spotted brown for the better part of a week. I figured AF was just slow to show up, and then when I didn't get full flow I took a test and was pretty shocked to get a BFP. I'm thinking (with some help on my math, Scooter, ;)) that the spotting started about 8 DPO.

Maggi, your cycle lengths are varying a bit, meaning your ovulation day most likely changes a bit each cycle. Knowing which day you ovulated and how long your luteal phase is (the time between ovulation and getting your period) is the best way to predict which day your period is due. Guessing based on the length of your last cycle, when your cycles are varying up to 4 days difference, is not the most accurate way to judge. Did you use the CBEFM this month and do you know when you ovulated?

Since Aug 9th was one day longer than your longest cycle, you can definitely take a pregnancy test by now to find out the answer to your question! If it's positive, you'll know it was implantation spotting and not a real period. :)

I had some spotting today. It was reddish brown and went away (started around noon-ish and when i went to the bathroom again around 3 it was gone). I estimate I'm about 11 DPO - I have never charted and have pretty weird cycles.

I had super tender bbs before today so I'm wondering if I was "thinking" myself pregnant. But, I have also had some pretty bad headaches and nosebleeds which are very uncommon for me.

I'm going to test tomorrow - I was going to do it on Saturday but I need to know. I've had two m/c since December and I want to know so I can get to the doctor for tests right away.

Crossing fingers because both DH and I think this could be the one that sticks!! :)

No, it was AF. She reared her head in full force the next day. Of course - right after I took a HPT. :rolleyes:

I had some random spotting on Tuesday - really weird. The previous cycle ended 8/25 and this occured on 9/2 - about a week later. Just odd for me. I guess we'll see what happens in a few weeks!
