i don't know why i am having the hardest time trying to find window guards. we live on the second floor and i am totally paranoid of DD falling out of the window (our cat fell out last year!). i saw the guardian angel type ones but they are pretty expensive. i am looking for these (http://securemychild.com/childguards.htm) specifically, but in white. when i try to order them through this website only the black ones are showing up. i can't find a phone number to contact and i have sent an email but haven't gotten a reply. i was surprised that babiesrus doesnt sell anything like this - has anyone ever bought some, and if so where? thanks!

We bought these Window Guards (http://www.safebeginnings.com/WebComponents/Catalog/Public/showproduct.asp?id=285&cat=Childproofing) from SafeBeginnings.com. I think they have a 10% discount code "BCGA" or "LW" (from Blue Cross and Life Wise, but anyone can use the codes).

Athough in the photo they're tan, they are really bright white, and screw into the sides of the window frame. They are not removable in case of fire like the Angel Guard ones, but the windows where DD plays are not accessible as an escape anyway.

They should be placed with the bottom bar 4" above the window sill, and we got a stop to prevent the window from opening more than 4" above the top bar.

We found some at onestepahead.com. They're removeable if needed. Also, rightstart.com has these in white - they can be used as gates or window guards. Also removable I think. Sorry about your cat.

great, thanks for the info! i am getting impatient as i want to order these asap since it is cooling off here and the windows will be open. i was planning on just putting them in one window per room so we can 'escape' out of the other one if we need too.

seapoet i didn't see any on the rightstart website, can you point me in the right direction? thanks.

also i guess i should mention that my cat survived the fall! i rushed her to the animal ER (got lost so it took almost an hour, good thing she wasn't bleeding profusely or anything). she didn't have any broken bones and only had a scratched lip! she landed right on the pavement.
