I have a question, a couple of months ago, I bought a black underwire bra at VS. I don't usually love their bras, but I had to have one with a really low front to fit under a formal dress. This was the easiest place to find one.
I've worn the bra maybe 5 times total. The most recent time I wore it under said dress to a party and the underwire popped out. There is a rip in the fabric.
I'm sure I don't have the receipt. Will they let me exchange this?
I called one VS here in NYC and the employee told me to bring in the bra and talk to a store manager.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Wanted to let you know I understand what you are going through, I bought six bras from VS and they all ended up having the underwire poke through the fabric. Since then I have given up on VS and started buying my bras from a department store. I never thought about trying to get a refund. Let me know how it turns out if you do return it. Good luck!

Yeah, I usually don't buy VS because of the poor quality, but this is ridiculous! I've had the bra maybe 3 months and wore it 5 times!
CindyM I'll keep you updated.

I suppose there is no harm in trying. If you paid by debit or credit, they might have your purchase on file.
Good luck, and let us know what happens!
I hate it when you buy something and it breaks after only using it for a few times! Especially clothes - because then you feel like you *can't* return it :(

I remember on the other side there was a girl who worked at VS and she said there was a specific type of bra that had this problem. Returning that type wasn't a problem, but with others it varried. She also said that poping underwire means the bra was a wrong size to begin with. If you live/work near a store, give it a shot, they might let you exchange it vs returning for a refund.

I swore someone posted on the other boards that you could return anything to VS at anytime. The post was about VS panties falling apart after just a few washings, and supposedly someone who worked there said you can return defective items whenever, regardless of how long you've had it.

Thanks for everyone's help!
OK, on the other site I found a post stating
If you bought your VS bra within the last 3 months or so, you can return it. The company allows returns (without a reciept) for an exchange within 90 days of purchase. I used to work there and basically, we accepted any returns for really any reason. I've returned 2 Very Sexy bras because the underwire popped out within the first few months of wearing them (I have many in the same style and it hasn't happened to most of them).
and this
Also, you can almost always exchange a bra for just about any reason. If the squeaking makes you nuts, swap it out for a different one. Also, we got a slew of Very Sexy Push-up Plunge bras returned for the wire popping. I believe there was a quality issue as it seems to have stopped being a problem. If it happens more than once, definitely check the size. Popping an underwire is a classic sign that the cup is too small.
Both of these items were posted by women who worked at VS. I'm going to try and exchange it. I never really expected to be able to return it for money, just to exchange it for another one.
I'll try over the weekend.

All of the Limited Brands Companies (bath and body works, VS, limited, express, etc) are VERY good about exchanges or getting store credit. When I worked at B&BW we were to take any product back, regardless of whether or not it was used (even candles that were half burned) we took everything back and issued a store credit or gave an immediate exchange.
My girlfriend works at limited HQ and it is their customer service policy to take anything back at any time and issue store credit or to do an exchange. Now you may not get a whole lot of store credit (if the item is no longer being sold which happens in B&BW a lot) but you can do a direct exchange (ie you return the sunripened raspberry shampoo that is no longer made but they have the peaberry shampoo so you could get that)
They shouldn't give you any problems!

I had the same problem with a VS bra several years ago- I had only worn it twice when the underwire popped through. I had no problem returning it, even without a receipt. I do live in Columbus (home of Limited Brands) and just as ce_Kathleen said, they are really good about returns and exchanges as a matter of company policy.

I just had an underwire pop on a VS bra the other day. I think that's interesting that it could be a sign of an incorrect size. I'll have to go measure myself and see what the numbers say I am.

Yesterday I went and exchanged the bra no problem. It was really easy. I told them the underwire had popped out and ripped the fabric, then I showed them the bra I wanted instead. They scanned it in, put in a code and off I went with my new bra!!
Thanks for the help.
