I have a sidekick II and I have mixed emotions somewhat. Its a great phone and I am stuck to it like glue. But I am wondering if I should have just gotten a blackberry instead. Hmmmmm

Anywho what type of cell phone do you have?

I have an LG slidephone. I like it. I use my cell phone as a cell phone - not as a computer or organizer.

The trouble with the blackberry is that you have to pay for the monthly service too (internet service, not phone service).

I love my phone - a Samsung E105.

I go through cell phones like water bc I work in the industry. If you want a powerful phone and you don't want a blackberry, you can go with something that has a symbian operating system which is basically Windows for your cell phone. It can be overwhelming though... it really depends how into technology you are and what you want to do with your phone. Nokia, Siemens, Samsung, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson all make Symbian phones. For instance, the Nokia 6600 is one.

Personally I don't want to deal with symbian phones. My FH has got the 6600 and finds it too bulky (although there are smaller ones out on the market). I find them complicated and just too susceptible to bugs and glitches since they are rather new and susceptible to viruses. I am currently using a Panasonic p342i but I know they don't sell this model in the US. I've also got a Nokia 7250i (they also do not sell this specific model on the US) and a Sharp GS30 (it's a POS). FH has got the same Panasonic as I do, plus the Nokia 6600 as well as a Sony Ericsson (it's old so I can't remember the model number).

If you're looking for the usability of the blackberry, you might also want to consider a PDA with a cellular capability like a Treo Smartphone.

I have a Nokia, which I love:

http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5d934b3127cce92ba2b25446e00000015108CZNWTZw2ac

Hubby has been on me to upgrade to a newer phone, so he refurbished a Motorola Razr for me, which I kinda like (but haven't made the switch yet):

http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5d934b3127cce92ba2b20c55b00000016108CZNWTZw2ac

And then I saw the new BLACK Razr on Tuesday, which is just gorgeous. I think I want this one (hubby had a Razr 3 or 4 phones ago and loved it):

http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5d934b3127cce92ba2b2ec55500000016108CZNWTZw2ac

Hubby works for Cingular, so he has a new phone every 1-2 months and is constantly trying to get me to switch phones every often as well. I've held onto my current phone for almost 2 years now, it's prehistoric to him but so familiar and comfortable to me. :)

I used to have the same one Rancid13 does.

After almost 3 years, it started turning itself off - frequently. I finally got fed up with it, and got a Nokia 3120, which is decent and no-frills. I get worse reception with it than I did my 3650, but at least it doesn't switch off whenever it feels like it.

I have the Samsung 315 and I like it OK. The buttons are a bit small so it will take a while for me to get used to it.

I just got it this week and I have already dropped it twice, and I am so mad at myself.

I have the motorola v180 and its okay. Very small and compact. Very basic. The speaker isn't the best. I am looking to upgrading to either the sidekick2 (which my boyfriend has and loves) or the tmobile blackberry. I haven't decided yet though. i am tired of lugging around my pda and a cell phone and would much rather have it all in one. I am very upset that tmobile doesn't care the treo's anymore and has no plans on getting the 650.

We also had the Ericsson Z500a, but we didn't like ours. We traded them in for the L1400 and LOVE it! It still has a digital camera (one feature we really liked with the Z500a), but it's not as *boxy* looking.

I did a search, but didn't find anything. Forgive me if this is a repost!

DH and I are looking to change our cell providers. I had a pretty good deal b/c I used to work for the company. DH needs a bunch more daytime minutes and we can't seem to make it work with our current company. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences. Well, let me rephrase. We have all had bad experiences! Can anyone recommend any good plans?

Thanks!

My DH and I have a Cingular family plan that has a ton of anytime minutes, free nights & weekends, free calls to any AT&T or Cingular (which is good since we both are ;), my parents, etc.), and Rollover. My DH's old bill with another company was ~$150 month and mine was about $70. Our combined bill is now approx. $120 (saving about $50 per month). We have not gone over (as he did every time with the old plan  ) and have therefore saved a lot of minutes to our Rollover, in case we ever do.

Their service has been great. It was a little confusing to figure out their billing at first because they pre-bill, but once I got the concept through my head, it was fine. Our reception is good, too, except in our apt., and NO cell phones work in here, so I guess I can't be mad.

I really like T-Mobile. Decent price, no charge when DH and I call each other (even during the day) and a free phone upgrade every year. Good service in our area, too. There have been very few places I've been unable to get a signal.

It really depends on your area, because certain carriers have better coverage in each particular area. I would ask people you know locally. I personally have Verizon and love them, but I don't know how Verizon is in your area.

I have an LG flip phone model from about two years ago, and I really like it. I'd always had Nokias before, so it took some time to get used to the set up, but I've been very pleased with it. I'll probably get another LG when I'm eligible for a new phone.

Mark just bought me an LG VI-125 and I really like it. I had an ancient Sumsung A460 that just randomly decided to delete my phonebook (all 50 or so numbers) the other day!

So, Mark bought me the LG and I like it much better. No camera, but I didn't really care for one anyway. I just wanted a color display and the ability to download fun ringers (like my SATC one I have now! :D )

I have Sprint. I'm not sure if I like them or not. I refuse to deal with them anymore, but hubby likes the service. So, we still have it. I think we pay too much. It'd be interesting to get an idea of what people are paying each month. Maybe that'll make me feel better about it. Sorry I'm not much help.

We have Verizon Wireless and we love it! We always have service where our friends with other services drop calls and lose signal all the time. I don't know anything about the pricing of the plans compared to different companies though.
DH and I have the family share plan and we pay about $120 each month. It includes unlimited calls to other Verizon subscribers, unlimited push-to-talk, the service area includes nation-wide and that's all I remember right now. We also pay a little extra for unlimited text messages which we can do without ;)

We have Verizon, and I really like it. I think we pay about $100 per month, for me, Bert, and his dad. We get 700 daytime, and unlimited night and weekends, and free calls within Verizon.

I have a Motorola V600 and I really like it. The best part is the bluetooth wireless headset I can use with it. Downside is the headset needs charging almost as much as the phone. It's a camera phone but I never use the camera. Another weird thing is the send and end buttons are switched--send is on the right. Maybe it's a Motorola thing? Really screws me up when I use our home (cell) phone. It has caller ID on the outside, which is a big plus from my old flip phone (Motorola V66).

The Treo is a fabulous phone! I can't live without my Palm software -- it syncs your email, date book, memos, etc. It has a pretty decent camera too. It's a tad big for a cell phone, but it's a great size for a PDA. Love it!

Cannot sing the praises of Verizon Wireless enough. We never drop calls, and I have never roamed while traveling in the US. The deals they give to members are pretty good as well. And it doesn't hurt that I get a company discount through my employer.:D

I had Tmobile for about a yr before switching to Cingular out of convenience (my family and DH's family has Cingular). Tmobile is very resonably priced, and they have excellent customer service. They also have plans with a good amount of mins, free nights and w/e and mobile to mobile. I would definitely recommend them.

I just signed up for tmobil tonight. I used to be an AT&T customer, but then they merged with Cingular, and all my account information has been very difficult to access since.

tmobil has a generous $20 a month, national plan, for people like me who don't use their cell enough to warrant a $40plus monthly service fee. I was able to carry over my number so I didn't need to change it, plus got a $200 phone for free when I switched.

The only thing that kind of stunk was the $35 activation fee, which although standard for most cell phone companies, seems like a bit like nickle and diming to me. I tried to find a discount promo code online but couldn't. Ah well.

A few months back I upgraded my LG4400 under Verizon's "new every 2" program to the Samsung A670 camera phone. I was pretty happy with it, but it had a tragic accident: it was charging on the kitchen counter when the blender leaked and soaked the phone. The phone still sends and receives calls, but the screen is solid gray with little bright pin-pricks of light.

So it's another 18+ months until I can upgrade under my contract and I'm looking at buying a new phone on eBay. I don't necessarily want to just go out and buy another A670. Like I said, I was pretty happy with it, but I thought the text messaging function was a little clumsy compared to my previous phone. The picture resolution was good, though.

If you have a camera phone, tell me if you'd buy it again. And how are Audiovox phones? They're a lot less expensive on eBay - but is there a good reason for that? What I read on epinons didn't make them sound too bad. But I don't want to save $40 in the short run just to have to go out and buy another phone again in a while.

I'm considering the LG6100 and above, Audiovox 8910, Motorola v265. I want to spend no more than $150, preferably less. I don't care about v-cast or a gazillion ringtones.

I'm not very delicate with my phones and use about 1100 minutes of airtime a month. I have a decent digital camera, and mainly use the camera phone feature to send pix messages to friends.

Thanks!

Secret_Squirrel Do you have insurance on the phone? If you do you can go get another at the store.

I am getting the LG6100 next Monday. I'm not much of a guru with this stuff, but I just liked it when I looked at it last week. It had a variety of ringtones, which I like. I am not going to be downloading anymore rings or anything since you can't take those downloads to a new phone. IMO- it's just a way to get more money from us.

Sorry I can't help you more. Good luck with your choice.

The deal with insurance on cell phones is you can always add it, but they have to verify your phone is working (by sending you a code to your phone). So if you want to be sneaky, you can add the insurance since your phone does work, and then a few weeks later take it in and tell them it had an accident. I don't know this from experience, and I realize it's not entirely ethical, but there you go.

Secret_Squirrel

I don't have insurance. The phone was free and insurance at Verizon is about $60 a year - if I had been paying for insurance for the last several years I've had a phone, I easily could have "bought" a couple of phones by now. Even thought I have to pay out of pocket, I'm still ahead over time.

The deal with insurance on cell phones is you can always add it, but they have to verify your phone is working (by sending you a code to your phone). Interesting possibility. Fortunately, I'm saved from the ethical temptation because DH already called Verizon to inquire about our options and they've activated my old phone for me. I'm sure there's a handy note in the file that my phone drowned.

I am getting the LG6100 next Monday.

So it's still in stores? The LG 8100 is out now and I didn't want to get anything too outdated. It would probably be perfect for my use, but it's bigger than the a670. The latest thing is so tempting, but I don't want to pay for it.

I was looking at one of the following 3 cell phones from Verizon only.

I *really* like the Motorola E815 Phone by Verizon Wireless. For any of you that have this phone, what do you like/not like about this cell phone? I have a LG cell phone now & I haven't had any real problems with it for the last 2 yrs..

Any *other* phones that you would suggest? I have a $100 upgrade trade-in. I have that new Every two plan.

Just wondering if anyone has the Verizon - Motorola E815 cell phone.?

tlew12778
11-18-2005, 02:54 AM
The Motorola and the LG are EXTREMELY similar. The Motorola wins out on bigger phone book capacity and longer talk time, but it's just slightly bigger and heavier. You can also sync the Motorola with your PC if this aspect interests you. This chart (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/compare.php?id%5B%5D=665&id%5B%5D=663&id%5B%5D=&id%5B%5D=&id%5B%5D=)compares the two.

The only thing the Samsung wins out on is size. It has less talktime and it weighs almost as much as the Motorola even though it's shorter (it's shorter only bc it has an internal antenna). You can see the chart comparing all 3 models here (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/compare.php?id%5B%5D=748&id%5B%5D=663&id%5B%5D=665&id%5B%5D=&id%5B%5D=).

I actually work in the wireless industry so I'm pretty picky with my phones. I would go with the Motorola if choosing from these 3 models.

tlew thanks for your input. We went to Verizon last evening & we upgraded our cellular plan & phone.
I decided to go with the Verizon Motorola E815. I'm glad that I did!

I like the larger screen for viewing, the keypads are larger for dialing, the sleek look and the talktime & battery time have longer hrs..

The only downside is that it only came with the home charger. They used to come with a car charger, leather case, earpiece, belt clip, and home base charger. The accessory kits are not cheap either! They're around $50. eeks!

What type of Bluetooth headset would be compatible with the Motorola E815 phone? I forgot to ask.

~Thanks!

tlew12778
11-27-2005, 11:54 AM
You can ebay all the accessories and you don't need to get "motorola" brand pieces. Just make sure that the listing has the compatibility for your phone listed. I'll look around tomorrow to see if I can find a bluetooth headset for your phone. I actually never use my headset (I never drive bc I live in a big city) so I only have the one that came with my phone.

I'd go with the Samsung 950 if you are buying today, I hear they have a super deal on it this weekend!

Otherwise, Samsung 950 or the LG 8100 are great options! Verizon has a navigation system that is all their own and so simple to use, I'd pick one of the phones that has that.

hula They were having a pretty great deal on that Samsung 950! I ended up going with the Verizon Motorola E815 phone & it's been great so far! The new phone that I just got a few days ago, has a little bit more than I would ever need/use, but it's free. The Samsung looked like it was a fun phone to have. What do you mean by the Navigation system?

tlew Great! Thanks for the links. I did check out the one link so far and I can't get over at how expensive those little earpieces are. eek! I might just go buy the accessory pack ($50) and call it a day. I didn't stop to think about Ebay, that's a good suggestion!-although, I don't even know how to use Ebay. Terrible, isn't it?!

Actually, that's one of the reasons I won't shell out the money for a bluetooth headset. I change cell phones at least once a year and I actually carry 2 (one for work, one for personal use) and you can only sync your headset to one of the phones. FH has one by Jabra and it's not compatible with his latest phone so it feels like a waste kind of. Maybe the next phone .

Hula1974
12-05-2005, 08:46 PM
What do you mean by the Navigation system?

It's the menu options, etc. The way the screen looks. I hear it's really easy to use and is on a bunch of different Verizon phones. So you don't have to learn a new system when you get a new phone!

tlew12778
12-06-2005, 03:35 AM
If you're interested in a real navigation system (GPS for the car I mean)there is a thing called a TOM TOM that you can attach to your phone and it makes it a GPS device. It's really expensive though... but you can find it on ebay usually.

hula oh, o.k.! I think I do have that accessible on my phone! It's amazing what cell phones can do these days.

tlew I feel the same way about the price. For me, I think I'll just stick with the Jabra headseat. Plus, I only use it for when I visit my Mom. I saw the other thread about BT.

So far, I'm loving my new cell phone & all of the 'extras' !!

I'm currently wanting to upgrade my phone to a bluetooth phone and headset. I have cingular service, so I'm trying to decide between the Motorola RAZR V3, the Sony Ericsson Z520a, and the Samsung D357. I don't think I will use the camera phone at all - I basically just need a phone for making calls with a bluetooth headset. I've checked the reviews online of these phones and either people LOVE the phone or they HATE it - so I'm not sure what to think....
Just wondering if anyone on here has had good or bad experiences with any of these phones. Also, if you have a bluetooth headset - which one do you have and do you like it?

TIA!!!

I have a Samsung and they are my favorites. I had a Nokia once and found it to be cheap and not very "cool."

Motorola v551. I'd had Nokias since the beginning of time and was hesitant to make the switch, but I do love my new phone. The menus aren't as intuitive as on the Nokias, but I'm getting used to it.

DH had a Motorola from a few years ago and the "send" and "end" were reversed - highly frustrating when he was used to "send" being on the left.

My cousin has had a Razr for a few months now and is on his 3rd or 4th. They keep breaking on him - screens going out and the like. But part of me would still *love* a pink Razr.

I find that I use the camera on my phone more than I thought I would. It's good for taking a quick shot when you have one of those "you wouldn't believe what I just saw" moments, or you want to remember what section you're parked in. I didn't think I'd use it, but I'm glad I have it.

Nextel and I HATE it! Can't wait to switch to Verizon!

Some friends of mine have Nextel and hate it, too. They don't get good reception.

DH had Sprint before he met me. He almost never had good reception with them, either.

We've never had a problem with Verizon.

Have a Rzr with Cingular. Really happy with it and the Bluetooth works with my car for integrated handfree communication.

My DH has a Motorola Slivr
http://www.motorola-slivr.com/images/Motoroloa-SLIVR.jpg
- which he loves...although with both the Razr and the Slivr he had problems with the Bluetooth headset disconnecting for no reason. Happens mostly at home versus when he's out on the road - so I think we just have interference in the house from something.

We've also been happy with Cingular - great coverage in our area.

I'm currently wanting to upgrade my phone to a bluetooth phone and headset. I have cingular service, so I'm trying to decide between the Motorola RAZR V3, the Sony Ericsson Z520a, and the Samsung D357. ...
Just wondering if anyone on here has had good or bad experiences with any of these phones. Also, if you have a bluetooth headset - which one do you have and do you like it?
TIA!!!
I have the Motorola RAZR V3 from Verizon. I have experienced a very annoying problem: sometimes it lockes up and I can't make or receive calls. I have to turn it off and on to get it working again. ( it could be a phone or service issue) Other than that is works well. I have a bluetooth headset that works great, but I can't think of the brand name right now.

I had as of 2 days ago a Razr, I had been through 3 of them since March and was not about ready to get a 4th one so I called cingular and told them I was fed up they finally gave me 2 other options this time and I went with the Sony Ericksson W810i, I'm not a music person but it was the best of the two choices, I love it so far but cant wait to get back to a flip phone.

Razr......I had pretty much every stinking version of them I was on the V3 and it even went bad, they were all mechanical problems. My husband is on his 2nd razr as well. Thankfully they were all covered under the warrenty exchange plan.

Our plan expires in March so we will probably both upgrade to a blackberry or PDA phone, I can get my data paid for by work.

http://www1.sprintpcs.com/media/Assets/Equipment/Handsets/Phones/LG225KITR_thumb_s_69840d.gif

I've had it about 8 months now and I really like it. It does all it's basic phone duties without any problems. I like that it's a flip phone, and the camera has proven much more useful than I originally thought it would. I really like that it has an internal antenna (I've broken antennas off phones before). And the little thing is amazingly sturdy. I've dropped it countless times, often on concrete, sometimes while open. One totally clumsy day I drop kicked it several yards down the street while trying to take a picture and walk at the same time. I thought it was broken for sure. Nope, camera was still on and everything. It's scratched and nicked horribly now, but I'm terrified of replacing it. I don't think most cell phones could withstand what this one has.

Just got a fire red MotoKrzr for my bday... I love it! You can only hold about 8 songs on it without buying the upgraded memory card but I use it a lot! The screen is large and the only downside I've found so far is the keypad. The keys aren't raised at all, so it's kinda hard to txt msg. Good thing I rarely txt... I really like the menu too.

Hi, I'm in great need of feedback on two Blackberry models. I have the oldest Blackberry (7290 or some such number) and want to upgrade when my contract comes up in May, but I am torn between these two and it seems my mind changes literally every day. It's driving me crazy!

8700g
http://www.discoverblackberry.com/pc/images/product/device_fullsize/101_1.jpg
The keyboard size is good for typing, but I feel that it is too large to fit in my pocket or in my wristlet which I often carry instead of a full size purse. I have also heard a few people say it's a bit awkward to talk on unless you use Bluetooth all the time b/c it feels like you're holding a calculator to your ear.
Pearl
http://www.discoverblackberry.com/pc/images/product/device_fullsize/203_1.jpg
It's small enough to throw in my pocket or wristlet, but I really don't like the keyboard with the two letters on every key. I think that would get old really fast. Also it has that predictive text typing which I do not understand - even when the salesperson tried to explain it to me! If it's anything like the predictive text typing my current phone has (which I always turn off) then I do not think I will like it.

Opinions? I currently have both a cell phone and blackberry but would like to combine my voice and data service into one device. Thus my dilemma. Neither is exactly right.

tigger8402

My boyfriend (who sells cell phones) said if you do more talking then to go with the pearl but if you do more data then go with the 8700. He said you can turn off the predictive text on the pearl, since that was a concern.

I just got a Nokia E65. This thing is awesome. I've only had it for 2 days and I can't put it down. It's quad-band GSM, EDGE, UMTS, wifi (so you can use VOIP to call plus surf the internet). It has office suite, team suite (for grouping emails, calls, etc.), adobe... Oh it plays MP3s too but I never use this feature on any of my phones since I iPod it.

It's really small too bc it's a slide phone. It's also very thin. The only thing is that you cannot put a lanyard on it and I like to use lanyards to fish the phone out of my bag. Also, there is no camera on the front of the phone so video calls are sort of awkward.

I had a Blackberry 8700 (whatever the latest model was last year) and it was really, really awkward to use as a phone. I totally agree with the comparison to a calculator. I didn't really like the text input, either; I hated that I couldn't go back to change a typo without deleting things.

My boss just got a Blackjack and she loves it in comparison to her old Treo. It's a really good size, too. It weighs less than my motorola flip phone, but still seems pretty sturdy.

i don't know if you've made your choice already - in which case this would be a mute point - but i have the 7130e which is a model in between the two you're looking at but has the double-key feature that the pearl has. it's SUPER ANNOYING. the predictive text is actually awesome (it learns words you use often - like my name!) but there are so many words that are the same combo of key strokes and you have to scroll to get the word you want. just having to scroll around and select and make sure that your email/text sounds right is totally aggravating. if you don't catch it, your email sounds really funny! my favorite is:

"are you in a but" instead of "see you in a bit" :D

Tmobile is awesome and thats not because my BF works for them. I haven't had problems with their customer care people at all and my service coverage is great. Well, we both have Sony Ericsson camera phones from 2 years ago. Obviously I'm not big on having the latest technology. The camera is nice but not an absolute necessity. Any wireless companies that treat existing customers decently?

We're up for renewal soon with Sprint. (Our contract is up in 2 months, but we can renew and get the new phone credit now.) Except we just found out that we basically won't get a phone for free because we're not new customers. New customers get $200 off the price of a phone, and we'll get $150 off. Which is total bull to me - why should they reward new customers while treating us like dirt (we've been with them for 4 years)?

Any suggestions on companies to look at or ways to threaten sprint into giving us more $ off the price of a phone?

Have you looked into buying your phone online from Sprint and not through a retail store or 3rd party vendor? We were looking at using our upgrade credit with Cingular, and, buying the phones through Cingular's website came out far better than going through a company store, or Best Buy, where we first signed up.

Amazon.com also has good prices on phones. Much, much better than the Cingular company stores.

the way i had to break it down to BF who was "dying" for one is he has an 80 gig ipod that he just bought for like $350 in may and he wants/"needs" this phone that has a 8 gig memory for everything for $600 which makes sense? Even if its convenient to only have one device its pointless to the bank account and the bank account wins. I mean we are used to carrying more then one device so its not a huge deal. The Cingular people didn't appreciate it much but oh well!

tlew12778
07-10-2007, 09:02 AM
Yeah I do. I actually just took it in for a text message problem but I am pretty sure that DH messed it up and it wasn't a phone issue.

It's really handy bc you can upload maps onto it. Even if you don't want to use a GPS device (which you can buy for like $50), you can still get directions if you are lost. It's just not real time like GPS is.

Also, I love being able to bluetooth documents onto the phone. I walk around with copies of work documents like that actually.

I rarely ever surf the net on it, but when I do, I can always find a free wifi connection to hop onto and I am all set. I never ever have to call information for a number or an address. Also, I can Skype with this phone if I want.

If you don't want to carry around an MP3 player, you can upload those too. I still carry an iPod though since I already had one.

I have never printed pics from the camera but I have used it for pics and videos. The video quality is actually pretty decent and it records the sound too. Since there is an external memory card, you aren't really limited in terms of recording time.

Oh actually the external memory card is a good function to have. I back up all my phone data with the click of one button. I never did this with my other phones bc I couldn't be bothered setting up the phone with the computer and/or buying the cord that was never included in my package.

I was using one of these indestructible phones for the last 4 or so years (I did flirt with a Razr on occasion, as DH worked for Cingular and was always on me to update my phone already):

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v432/rancid13/oldnokia.jpg

I finally splurged and got an iPhone. I love it. Sure, it's not perfect (what phone/wireless multimedia device truly is?) but it's as close to perfect as you can get. DH agrees with my take on it, and he worked for Cingular for ~11 years and has owned and/or tested just about every phone on the market for that provider. Oh yeah, and he got one also.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v432/rancid13/iphone.jpg

My only complaints are that you can can't zoom in on the subject when you're taking a picture. You can zoom in after you've taken the picture though. And you can't clear out single calls in your call list. If you hit delete, it's either all or nothing. And there isn't a ring tone I like on it, and you can't download any yet, from what I've been told.

Yeah the price is a drawback too, but I think it's worth it. I'd rather have one of these than a designer handbag, expensive shoes, or designer clothes any day.

I had DH download the wallpaper picture of the clown fish, as it was not available in the wallpaper on the phone.

It's about time that I get a new phone as my 2 year contract just came up. I currently have an LG 8100. I can get a lot of phones for free through Verizon but I just can't decide between them. It's so overwhelming! Does anyone have a Verizon phone and would you mind sharing your experience?

What's most important to me is good reception, long battery life and a good camera. I really don't like a super small phone so the Razor isn't an option for me.

I'm leaning toward the LG Strawberry Chocolate - I like how this one looks but I'm not sure if I'd like it considering I don't normally listen to music on my phone. Is that a large part of the phone? Or would I still like it if I didn't use it for that purpose?

On our flight home to CA a guy that works for T-mobile said that honestly it's the best cell company he ever worked for. He said he worked for and even ran a Sprint store; said absolute worst company ever. He said AT&T was good and All-tel is great if you can get them in your area. Verizon is good as well he said. He liked any of the companies really but Sprint.

I have Sprint, have for at least 8 yrs now, never had major issues with them. I am possibly going to switch though, my contract has been up for a while now.

I can 2nd T-Mobile IF you can get good reception from them.

DH had them when we lived down in SoCal and they were fine - reception everywhere down there. They have great plans as well. However, once we moved up to NorCal T-Mobile barely had ANY reception up here. He couldn't even get service in our house. So he switched to Verizon and when my contract with Cingular (same problem - no service) ran out, I did as well.

Just bought one for DH and he loves it. A little too much, as he's succumb to the "crackberry" mentality of checking it under the table, etc. I wish it was a bit faster searching the internet on the Edge network, but it's better than nothing.
