I'm not sure I like the idea of just hosting my photos on Snapfish or Photobucket. It's nice for some stuff, but I'd like a better way to store lots of photos for easy (and aesthetically nicer) browsing. Sort of an online gallery for my work :)

The thing is, there are SO many websites. I thought that I had a decent thing going with blogspot (blogger.com), but recently I added some pictures and the entries were showing up in wierd order. Basically, it's just not very good for what I want.

Does anyone have any recommendations? If you made (or have made) your own website (ie, buying a domain and hosting space), what did you do? Where did you buy it?

I wish I had more specific questions, but I just don't know where to start.

I want a nice way to host some of my pictures and I'd love to know of some functional, reliable places to do that.

Thanks!!

hi,

i've been looking at this company bc they provide nice templates for a reasonable price. i'm a wedding coordinator but the site templates are designed more for photographers:

I have been looking at smugmug.com.

I haven't tried it just yet though...

I really like Flickr.com - they're great for organizing and posting. I love that I can use tags and folder and decide how I want to share my photos ... public, friends or family only or completely private. More than likely you'll need a Pro account, but it's only about $20 a year.
