I'm trying to figure out where to get Naomi's one-yeat pictures taken- I've used JC Penny and Picture People and was really pleased with both.
I've always been impressed with the portraits in the window at Glamour Shots, but I have not idea about the pricing, paper quality, etc.

Anyone use them?
Thanks!

I can't speak for the quality but I will say, that man, Glamour Shots sure has changed! I knew it as a cheesy place where they do cheesy makeup and make your hair huge and take "sexy" photos, but from looking at the website, it looks like they do take some adorable kids pictures.
Sorry, I'm no help though!

I did pictures of DD there one time, mainly because they were running a special offer w/a coupon and they had some cute Easter props.
I wasn't impressed. Obviously, they don't do the hair or make-up thing w/kids, but the overall experience for us was not as good as Picture People or Sears. The quality of the photos seemed cheap - like something printed on digital paper on a home computer. I also didn't like how they were really high pressure about trying to sell me enhancements, special color effects, bigger packages, etc. I mean, I was there with a coupon and I guess maybe they're taught to always upsell, but I wasn't a huge fan of the shots anyway and I was on a budget. I like the low-key approach of PP and Sears where they basically let you look at the photos and make choices in peace.

I had mother daughter pics made there last year for Father's Day when DD was 3 weeks old. I was really impressed with the quality and had a good experience (they didn't even mind when DD tinkled on their drape) but they were hella expensive. Like $700. I will NEVER go back there again. I'm sticking with Picture People from here on out.

Andrea - They have some really cute pics on the website, but a friend of mine had a similar experience as mamax2. They are pretty expensive and very pushy about buying huge packages and were vague about whether or not my friend could just buy individual sheets. I am sure like most places that each studio is different. I too am trying to decide where to do C's one year pictures. I have been happy with Sear and Kiddie Kandids so I will probably go back.

Have you considered hiring a professional photographer? If you let me know what city you're in, I can give you some names.

My BFF's husband had them done for Mother's Day - the kids were 5+ and 3 1/2 at the time. The pictures came out fantastically but were incredibly expensive. They did a few normal poses, but then also did her DD's hair and makeup and did some fun pictures with the kids. While the pictures were great, I wouldn't use them for normal portraits (though I am not sure what the pricing would have been for just the normal portraits - but I can imagine they would still have been much more than Sears, JCPenney, Picture Place, etc.)
