no AF this month-when do i start?

I always have my period on time. This month of course (since we are planning to start ttc, it doesnt come :( ). Well, my question is when do I know what days to start trying?) I was planning to just count on the charts which would have been the 9th day through the 12 day after AF. I was supposed to get AF Wed. I had very light brown spot on Sat. But, thats it. So do I assume that was AF and get started next week?

Have you been on birth control pills? It may be a while before your cycle is regular. I wouldn't count one day of minimal spotting as AF.

Spotting could mean a few things:
1. ovulation (rare)
2. implantation (a little more common)
3. your period is coming (very common)

If you haven't been using birth control for the past cycle, you could be pregnant already. Take a HPT if you want to find out.

If that's negative, you may just be having a weird cycle and need to wait some more for AF.

My initial reaction is to ask, are you sure you aren't pg already? The brown spotting could possibly be implantation spotting. If there's no way you could be pg, then I would say that you are still in the same cycle until AF shows. Are you charting? Do you know if you did or didn't ovulate this cycle? Lots of factors could cause your O date to be delayed. It may be that you are simply having a longer cycle and you haven't O'd yet, in which case I would say to start BDing now. Or you could be having an annov. cycle and AF will eventually show up.

Without knowing more information, that's my best guess. :)

Thank you ladies. I have been on bc for 2 years now since my dd was born.

I finished my last pill on tuesday from the pack. My doc said I can start right away. So, I was just waiting for AF to arrive as usual. When I finish my last pill I usually get AF 2 days later which would have been wed or thurs.

So, that is why I am confused. I guess I can start trying anyway. I took a HPT and it was negative.

I am new with the charting, just started this month. I will go by what it says and see what happens this month.
