Congrats, Monty!!!!

I had a dream last night that someone sent us our first baby gift. It was a big Lands End-type tote/diaper bag. It was monogrammed, but instead of having my name on it, it said "Lily Tomlin." Freakin weird. Why am I dreaming about Lily Tomlin? :D

Metag00~Cant WAIT to hear all about your dr. appointment today:D

Monty~Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Sadie~LOL! Thats funny!

Well, queasies still here :(..........nothing else new. Dad had some no name Gravol at home but it said for pregnant women not to take it. My doctor told me to take Gravol, so I wonder if it doesnt have a certain ingredient in it compared to the no name stuff. Oh well....going to talk to my pharmacist tonight and see what she says:D

Very weird!

Last night I had my first baby dream since conception. I've had other baby dreams on & off through the years, and they are always weird and confusing. This one wasn't that way at all. It was actually pretty nice. So, baby was a few days old and no milk had come in yet. I wasn't worried b/c I knew she was getting good colostrum, but I was hoping it would be soon. So (in the dream) I woke up in the middle of the night and even though baby wasn't quite away I stuck her on the breast anyway. I couldn't get her latched really well, she was mostly hovering at the very tip of the nipple.
Then baby opened her mouth real huge and took in like half my breast and then milk started pouring all over the place! I as so excited.:D
When I woke up for real I was laying on that boob at a weird angle and it really hurt.:(

My brother had a dream about my baby the night I found out- but he wasn't told until a few days later! His dream had to do with taking the baby swimming, and he was also caring for a baby tiger at the same time. And he kept getting them mixed up and losing one or the other. So, no babysitting for my brother!

Congrats and Welcome, Monty!!

Sadie - so weird! I haven't had any strange dreams lately, I think because I've had to get up and pee in the middle of the night, which I'm not used to it. :p

Rico'sAlice: That's actually pretty funny - except for the painful boob part. Your brother's dream cracked me up, too.

--------

I quit posting baby stuff in my LJ because I have several friends who have been trying for a long time and can't get pregnant, and I have another friend who has had several m/c. I feel guilty about getting pregnant so fast, and I don't know what to say. I don't want to act happy when they're dealing with their issues. But at the same time, I don't want to feel bad for being happy!

I ended up starting a separate LJ just for baby stuff, and then I opened it up to whoever wanted to join. I have to admit, there's a part of me that feels hurt that a few people haven't even said "congratulations" and a couple of people don't want to follow along in the baby journal until it gets interesting. I really don't care about weddings, but I still try to post and be supportive and "ooh" and "aaah" over my friends' wedding stuff.

Maybe it's the hormones, but I was wondering if any of you had experienced the same thing?

KeliAnn~GREAT Idea starting a new lj....I also have a few friends who have been trying for a really long time.....I felt so anxious about posting my news, but thankfully most of them were So Happy for me. Or said they were anyhow. I'm sorry that a efw of your friends havent even congratulated you yet...I can understand their feelings, but I dont know why they wouldnt be genuinely happy for their friend........:(
And like you, I am totally supportive of all of my friends, jb or not, in whatever stage of life they are in....its such a pity that everyone cant be supportive:( But you are totally right, you shouldnt feel bad for being happy, and I think creating a new journal for those friends who are going through a hard time shows just how supportive of your friends you are:D

KeliAnn
09-12-2006, 09:06 AM
Sunshine: So far, the baby journal has been good for me, because I've been able to get a lot of advice from the mommies. I understand why people who aren't ready for kids wouldn't want to join in, and they're part of the reason I created the journal. Not out of spite - just out of courtesy so that they wouldn't have to deal with reading about it.

But it still hurts that they're not interested in the most important thing in my life right now. And even if they're not interested, they could at least pretend to be. :(

Sunshine
09-12-2006, 09:11 AM
KeliAnn~ITA, I dont know why they cant just pretend to be happy and say congratulations:( These people are your friends:(
Could I join your pregnancy journal? I would love to follow your pregnancy on lj as well! If not, not a biggie, just thought I would ask:)

I am dealing with a different aspect of this. I don't have any close friends currently dealing with infertility (almost all of them already have one or two kids), so the majority are very happy for me. However, I think that my best friend is feeling a little left behind by everyone else--of our close-knit bunch, she's the only one who's not married, and now will be the only one without kids. I'm sure I would feel the same way in her shoes, but at the same time, it really sucks that my best friend isn't more excited for me. I don't want us to grow apart just because we are (temporarily) at different places in our lives.

Sadie: Oh that's too bad. :( It's a catch-22 for you, as well, because you want to be happy and excited, yet you don't want to overdo it and make her uncomfortable.

The couple of people I mentioned who don't care about the baby stuff are younger and married just not into babies. Maybe not ever. And I get that - I really do! I'm not mad at them or anything. I am just worried that I'm going to lose their friendship. Right now, I want to keep posting about normal life, but in the end, my baby will be more important than making sure I have plenty of non-baby stuff to talk about in my journal.

KeliAnn~Thanks! It's done:)
Yuo know, I said the same thing in my journal, that I was going to continue talking about normal stuff, but for me, right now, pregnancy Is normal stuff, KWIM?
Oh well...........I hope they come around:D

I am excited that my ultrasound is tomorrow. It looks like I will be the first one here to see my little one.
I am supposed to get an u/s at my appt tomorrow too and I am sooooo excited! I'm going to be really upset if the receptionist was wrong and they don't give me one! DH is coming with me..did I mention how excited I am? :D I can't wait to see the baby *fingers and toes crossed that it's where it should be and has a heartbeat* and get a due date so that I can figure out what chapters I should be reading in my PG books.

Welcome and congrats, LILRTL!

I got to see my little munchkin on 9/1, but at only 3 weeks, there was not much to see-but you could see it was something! I get to see him/her on Thursday again!! I can't wait.

I still haven't told the other here at work. I am going to tell a couple after work, mostly those on my closing team. I will make a big announcement to everyone in the office after my dr.'s appointment. I want to see that little heart beating first!:D

I am feeling really good! The only symptoms I feel are I am really really tired and it feels like someone is ripping my bb's off:rolleyes:

DH is being so good about letting me nap and he has been cleaning the house for me. He has been great! He CAN NOT wait for the baby to get here!!

Congrats and welcome, LILRTL! :D

I'm so jealous of you guys who are going to see your little ones so soon! I am having a hard time getting my OB appt set, so you've given me more reason to get it done already. Might as well put those pregnancy hormones to good use, right? ;)

foxyboo751~Dont worry, my doctor told me I will only have an u/s at my first appointment (In which I will be 11w1d) if he doesnt agree with my due date compared to my physical exam....other-wise I wont see my lil monkey until 20weeks..........

KeliAnn~I'm jealous too, my first appointment isnt until I am 11w1d.....and I was the first one to join this thread:p And my doc told me I would definatetly hear the heartbeat but unless he thinks I am further along or not as far along as my due date, an u/s wont be done until around 20w.....
Oh well......... a heart beat is just as good for me!

BerBer~Thinking of you! Please come back so we can stop worrying about you!

~Well, tomorrow is already 7 weeks! I cant believe it!!!!!
Weird dreams every night for the past week. I wont even get into what I dream about b/c really, I dont understand why I am having such bizarre dreams.............

I gagged a bit this morning, just looking at the toilet  , and had a hard time eating supper last night.....

I am sure I must have lost weight b/c of the gain in my breasts, but I am eating well.............maybe that is why, I am not eating as bad as I used to......but still no weight gain. I am so surprised!

Oh, and I read somewhere that tuna in the can is good for you as long as yuo dont eat it often....anyone read that anywhere? Do yuo know why? Because it is so oily maybe?
Anyways, I made a tuna wrap last night and am having the leftovers for lunch today:) It was SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD:)

Hope everyone has a GREAT day today!

Good morning ladies! Just checking in here. I got to see my baby last night in the ER. I had some spotting and something told me I needed to go so I did. Everything is fine. Baby measured at 6w1d instead of 8w1d. So I dont' know if my OB will change my due date or not. The heartrate was 128 beats per minute which the lady said was good! I do have a bacterial infection and I'm glad I got that checked b/c if I left it untreated it could've hurt me and possiably killed my baby. My overall experience with the ER was scary but glad I did it. I just hope at my followup today my OB doesn't want to poke around down there b/c I'm super sore from all the things they did. I put a full description in the April thread and in my journal. Well I hope everyone has a great day I'm on bedrest so that is what I'll be doing. God Bless!!!

coffee~I pretty well gave up coffee about a month before we conceived. I was drinking at least 1 XL DOuble DOuble from Tim Hortons a day.....anyways. I just figured it would be best Not to keep that up.
I also stopped drinking pop..........
Anyhow, this last weekend DH bought me one b/c I was so constipated and e figured it would get everything moving........
And then this morning a coworker bought me one:) A large....
I'm sure its all good, but mainly just wanted to see how many people still drink their morning coffees, and how much they drink:D
TIA:D

KeliAnn
09-13-2006, 08:53 AM
Coffee: I think I've had one cup of regular coffee since I found out I was pg, but I've been drinking decaf every morning. Decaf still has a little caffeine in it, but I think it's around 5mg.

Soda: I've drank a couple of Cokes and a couple of Mt. Dews since I found out -- one 12oz Coke only has something like 46mg of caffeine, so I just try to limit it to one every few days. I haven't had one since Saturday, so I'll probably have another one soon. Before we TTC, I probably drank about 32oz of Mt. Dew a day, so when we started TTC, I cut down quite a bit just to get used to it. I'll allow myself to have one if I'm about to fall asleep at my desk.

Tuna: Again, I think this is mostly an "in moderation" type of thing. I had a tuna salad sandwich from Subway the day after I found out, and I'm sure it won't be my last. We buy organic deli meats anyway, so I don't think that will be a problem for me.

Check out this thread (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14531) - you'd be surprised. :)

Berber - Soo sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you. I really was pulling for you...

Welcome to all of the new members!!! I can't believe how many of us are due 5/12 :)

I have to schedule my first US for the week of the 25th.

Coffee- Have still been having my morning cup but I never even come close to finishing it. Mostly I drink Crystal Light lemonade.

Still no symptoms except my huge BBs and my tiredness but I think I have been tired for 21 months now

Tonysweetie - What a scare! I am glad all is ok sorry you had to go thru that.

Sadie
09-13-2006, 12:17 PM
BerBer, I am so, so sorry.

Well, I am back from my doctor's appt with more questions than answers. Basically, according to my LMP, I should be 8 wk 4 days. However, I knew I was not that far along b/c I didn't get a BFP until CD47. During my exam today, the dr. said my uterus felt like it was about 8 weeks. However, we then had an u/s that showed no baby--nothing but a thickened uterine lining and a gestational sac. She said it's possible that the PG is just really early, in which case seeing only a sac would be normal. She said that that also fits with my not getting a BFP until 8/30. The alternative is not good, and she didn't talk about that specifically, but she didn't really have to.

She is going to test my beta and progesterone levels today and I have to go back for more bloodwork Friday. She will call me Monday and let me know the results, but the sucky part is that I have to go out of town on business from Sunday-Tuesday, and I don't know how I will hold it together if she has bad news for me on Monday. I have another u/s scheduled for next Wed.

So it totally sucks, I don't feel very hopeful even though I'm trying to stay positive. I was crying and poor DH didn't want to leave me to go back to work. The upside is that this was a new doctor, and I really, really liked her and the nurses I met.

I hope the other ladies with appts today have more cheery updates. :(

Berber, I am so sorry for your loss! :( After lurking here, I was worried about you and wondering how everything turned out. Maybe youīll want to join the m/c thread in the FP groups section. The support there has been very helpful to me after my m/c. I hope youīll recover soon and Iīm crossing my fingers for you to get pregnant so easily again that youīll have your baby next year. :)

Sadie: (((HUGS))) I'm so very sorry. I'm sure it's just early. That is what happened to me 2. My doctor measured me at 8w1d by my LMP. but my beta and u/s showed me at 6w1d. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless!!!

Yolanda~To put it in your signature as a link copy the following code into the signature box....(Take out all *'s tho...) And then write what you want the link to say where it says "What you want to say..." (My link says May 3rd, 2007 for example)

[*url="http://tickers.baby-gaga.com/p/dev131pr___.png"]What you want to say.....[/*url]

If you can add an image to a profile, add the info like this....(Again, take out the *'s)

[*img]http://tickers.baby-gaga.com/p/dev131pr___.png[/*img]

(Altho some boards use different coding, live journal would use the following coding....again take out the *)

BerBer - I'm so sorry! I'm glad you are already looking to the future. I will keep you in my prayers

Sadie - I'll be praying for you also. Try to stay upbeat and not to think the worst. I'm glad that at least you liked your new doctor

Sunshine - Yuck about you getting hit with the sickies. All you can do is eat what sounds good. My doctor told me yesterday that two "cups" of caffene where fine and not to worry about it too much. I'm still feeling good, knock on wood!

I had my doctor's appt with my new doctor yesterday. They did blood and urine, a "well woman" exam, and it was more of a get to know the new doctor kind of appt. I really liked him and his nurse and they answered all my questions so I'm glad about that. No ultrasound yet, he scheduled me to come back in in two more weeks when I will be 8 weeks. He said it will be more fun at that time because we will be able to see more then. I was a little disappointed I didn't get to see anything but two more weeks isn't long to wait.

Tonysweetie - welcome back!

Sadie - I'm sorry you're having to deal with this right now. I will be sending good thoughts your way for good news next Tuesday!

Yolanda - Good luck with your doctor's appointment today!! :D

metag00 - everything sounds good! So now it's a whole different kind of 2 week wait, huh? ;)

------------

I had a cup of regular coffee this morning because I've been SO tired lately and unable to focus on my work. I haven't told anyone in my office, so I don't want to give it away by falling asleep at my desk. I got home yesterday afternoon and fell asleep on the couch for about an hour - my poor DH doesn't know what to do since I'm usually very hyper and go-go-go all the time. :p

WHat caused it? DH's COLOGNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!
He was putting it on as I walked by, and that was it....gag reflex just started going overtime:p

Thanks for the well wishes and kind thoughts everyone! I was pretty much a basket case yesterday. I took a nap when I got home from the appt yesterday, and felt a little better. Then DH and I went to Dairy Queen last night and I started crying when they said they didn't take debit cards and cried all the way home. Which was ridiculous because a) I had cash, and b) I hadn't wanted anything anyway! :o

I have done a lot of internet research (always a double-edged sword) and am just really, really hoping that it was too early to see much.

I will probably be laying low for the next week until I have a better idea of what is going on. I just don't want to get too hopeful and get crushed again.

I had my nice ultrasound yesterday. The tech found the baby right away and saw the heartbeat fluttering away. It was really nice to see something after seeing nothing before my miscarraige. I don't know if I will post the pictures because you really can't see much. It was much more impressive in person with the movement and all.

I too have been having some caffine lately just because I have been so tired and I need something to keep me going till 5. Dr. said 2 servings a day is ok so I am not going to argue.

Good afternoon ladies! I'm taking a break from bedrest and got on the computer for a bit. Spotting is still here which makes me nervous to no end. I'm just hoping my numbers are doubling like they should on Friday and everything is still okay with the baby on Monday with my u/s. Bedrest is strange. I almost feel like I"m b eing lazy with all the things that need to be done around the house. DH isn't used to having to do house chores so he's having a hard time accepting it. But I'm sure he'll come around. Well I hope everyone has a great day. God Bless!!!

Sorry to those that are having to wait so long for an appointment! With DS, I had to wait 'til 10 weeks. However, we moved mid-pregnancy, and my new doctor sees patients at 6 weeks. It's killing me to wait THAT long!!! :p

wow!! you don't check this thread for a day or so and your more behind then ever!! I will do my best to chtach up but i only have a few mins. before DD will wake up from her nap!

LILRTL- I am a repeat offender! I have a daughter, Claire who is almost 8 months.

Coffee/Soda- I really don't pay much attention to the no caffine rule. I mean I don't drink like 50 oz of coffee a day so I'm really not worried. I drink a 16oz or smaller cup of coffee most mornings and soda I drink whenever I feel like I want it. When I am feeling the sickness kicking in soda is really all i want. I just make sure that I drink regular and not diet as the artifical sweetners aren't good for you.

tuna- I know that they say the canned tuna in moderation is ok just stay away from the fresh fish like tuna steaks. I eat a can here and there just as I do with cold cuts. Every doctor has his own comfort level with it. I have heard a can a week is ok I have heard not more than a can a month...etc, etc. I just think you take in as much info as you can and make your own judgements.

I am so excited for all of you who have gotten to see the doctor. It is exciting to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I still have 2 weeks until mine. I wont get a u/s at first but I know he always listens for the heartbeat.

Sadie- hang in there. I will keep you in my prayers. Just take it easy and think positive! We're all thinking of you!

BerBer-I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you must be going through but I can promise you that I will keep you and DH in my thoughts and prayers.

well I gotta cut this short....the bambino is starting to stir!!

Caffeine: Well I'm avoid soda anyway b/c of all the other ingredients (sugar, artificial flavorings, preservatives, etc.) I'm not a big coffee drinker, but if someone else has brewed a pot I'll drink a cup. I refuse to drink conventional decaf because of the chemical residue left over from the decaffeination process. If I loved coffee and wanted to make it at home everyday I would get the swiss-water-process decaf. But, I haven't been able to find any studies that show harm from a reasonable number of servings of caffeinated beverages. I just keep it to 1-2 cups.

Appointments: Well, I'm not seeing an OB at all unless something high-risk comes up. And since I won't be having US or Doppler, there really isn't much to have done at this point anyway. For me, personally, I don't want to make the investment (time, money, unnecessary anxiety/negativity) in seeing a "back-up" OB. If there is an emergency and I am forced to deliver at the hospital I'll end up with whoever is on call anyway.
It's a long story but I am in Houston for now taking care of my father while he recovers from a stem cell infusion. So, I'll hold off on seeing the midwife until I get back to Massachusetts which should be November, so I'll be 3-4 months.

So, I had my Doctor's appt. this morning. They couldn't see a heartbeat, but let me explain. They think I am 6w2d, but I think I am 5w5d, so really, it was too early. I go back in 2 weeks for my first real pre-nantal appt. and another u/s. Otherwise, she said everything looked great. So far, I really like my new dr.!

DH is just so darn cute since I told him about being pregnant! He has been wanting to move our hottub and make a better concrete pad for it. He was hoping to have it done before winter...it needs to be done very badly. So anyways, he calls me today and says he is going to wait until after the baby is born... so that we can put baby's hand prints and foot prints in the cement!

I hope all is well with everyone!

Tonysweetie-Just take it easy and make your DH do the chores and cooking! Hopefully, the u/s will show that things are ok.

Sadie-Think positive and try not to worry too much. hang in there. Gosh, I never realized how nerveracking and scary being preganant could be. I just try to take it one day at a time.

Sunshine

Yolanda~Awww! That is so cute about the baby handprints and footprints! On another topic about hottubs, we have one sunken in our covered deck, and right now we just have the regular old hard cover fold cover......:p That sounds silly. Anyhow, now we need to buy a locking cover (While I know our baby wont walk awhile, its better to do it before hand) So that is what we are having to do with our hottub:p LOL!
Too bad you didnt get to hear the heartbeat...:(

Rico'sAlice~That really is great! Were you the same with your first pregnancies?
If I had to pay for all the doctors visits I might be in a different position myself (not that its the fact that I dont have to pay to see a doctor that makes me go now....It just might help make me change my thoughts...)....
So what exactly does a midwife do? If you dont mind me asking! I've never known anyone to go to a midwife!

cgriffin~I thought I read something about 1 can of tuna per week too but I couldnt figure out where I read that!

Tonysweetie~I hope you hear good news on Monday:)

Well...Yeah!! I have my first dr. appt. tomorrow. I'm so excited! However, I'm not having an u/s:( ...I know I wouldn't be able to hear a heartbeat yet, I just wish I was able to get to see something.

WARNING...TMI ALERT Has anyone else been having constipation? I normally have wierd bowels as I only go 1-2/week. But now, I'm feeling like I am having more constipation and spending more time in the BR. I guess maybe it's all the extra food I'm eating now. I've been eating snacks here and there, but they've all been fruits or veggies. My friend says it's probably the fiber. It really stinks (no pun intended) :p

LILRTL
09-14-2006, 02:19 PM

Sunshine
09-14-2006, 02:34 PM
foxyboo751~Fibre is suposed to help constipation, the only thing it will do to you if you arent used to taking in alot of fibre, you will get alot of gas and or gas pains etc, rather than you getting more constipated....or so I read:)
But WOW, you only go to the bathroom 1-2 time a WEEK?????
I eat cereal with fibre in it, I also eat ALOT of fruits and veggies, and drink ALOT of water. A couple books I have says that you shuold try to drink MORE as well!
GOOD LUCK! It's getting better for me, but I am finally back to going 1ce a day again! YES!

Sunshine - My next OB appt when I get my ultrasound is Sept 26th so feel free to update away

Kelli You are right, this is a totally different kind of 2ww! That made me laugh. It seems like we are always waiting on something!

Foxy - I'm sorry you are feeling a little "backed up" lol. I also agree with the more fiber thing, it has got to help!

Hurray for tomorrow being Friday! I'm going to have a relaxing weekend of Pizza and Football. I'm a Aggie (graduated from Texas A&M) so I'll be watching the game this weekend when they are playing Army. It is the first game of the season that is being televised. I'm a football junkie!

I have been trying to drink as much water as possible. Maybe it is just gas bubble pains. Unfortunately for me...I eat b/f at 6:45 am and my lunch (first break in the day) isn't til 11:35. I'm not ready yet to tell my co-workers that i'm pg, so I can't drink too much water during that time.

Foxy - I'm sorry you are feeling a little "backed up" lol. I also agree with the more fiber thing, it has got to help!

Grapes have always "backed me up", which sucks cause they're one of my favorite fruits, but apples are what are causing this lately.

Alright - I don't remember m/s hitting this early with DS. (almost 5 weeks). I looked back at my journal, and I said;

"M/S hit with a vengeance last week..."

I was almost 7 weeks at the time, so it would have been almost 6 weeks. I'm a week early, dammit!

I'm not sick, per say. Just nauseous. No throwing up... yet.

Sadie I don't know if this will make you feel any better but when I got PG for DS they wanted to calculate by my LMP which was a whole 10 days off from what my actual EDD ended up being based on conception so when I had my first u/s they could only see the "fetal pole".

Sunshine - I guess our DHs are making us gag. I went to kiss DH goodbye this morning and his breath had something on it (food?coffee?) and I started gagging. Had to think happy thoughts so I didn't throw up right there. :D

Foxyboo- I had constipation soo bad last pregnancy and ended up impacted several times. It wasn't fun but if you take colace it should help. See what your Dr says.

Giry - How exciting you already have seen your baby!

Well, this is my first pregnancy. :) I am fortunate that money/insurance issues is not really a factor in my decision making. I just don't view normal pregnancy as a medical matter and thus have no desire to see a doctor. If a serious problem/complication arises with either myself or the little pooper, then that would be a medical issue and I would see a doctor. I would also probably feel different if I had a pre-existing heart condition, suffered multiple m/c in the past, etc.

What does a midwife do:

As I said it is my first and I haven't seen the midwife yet, so I don't have any great 1st person info for you. There is a great deal of variety between different types of midwives and their approach. A certified nurse midwife that does hospital birth will be working under a different set of parameters than a direct entry midwife doing home births.
In general midwives let the mother (& her SO) have lot more decision making power. If the mother wants to eat during labor she'll eat, if she wants to go for a walk, she does, if she wants to be in the tub she goes in the tub, if she wants to give birth on her hands and kness, that's what she doesetc. There is much less of a feeling of the having to ask permission during labor. It is the mother's birth and the midwife is there to support the mother in whichever way the mother sees fit. Also, they are often agreeable to or even encourage forgoing the Vit K shot, eye prophylaxis, HepB vax, etc. They general don't put the same time limits on you during labor, they will stay with you for the whole labor, they are far less likely to do interventions (episiotomy, forceps delivery, etc.) etc.
When you go to an appointment with a midwife you are likely to spend a full hour just talking about how you feel, how you want the birth to go, hopes, fears, etc. Vaginal exams are kept to a minimum or sipped entirely. If you come up Positive for strepB they may recommend herbal remedies rather than antibiotics, etc.
In general it is an approach that treats pregnancy as a natural & spiritual experience, and birth the same way.

Again, none of these things are true for all midwives. A CNM in a hospital setting is more likely to do things more like an OB, due to both official policy, liability, and philosophical reasons.

As I get further in the process I'll let you know how things go.

Sadie ~ I know I’d be freaking out too, but it sounds like there’s a good chance it’s just too early to see anything

Rico'sAlice ~ I live in mass., and I’m going to have a homebirth with a midwife, too

Tonysweetie ~ Fingers crossed

Girly ~ that IS pretty cool. I don’t think I’ll have that opportunity, but it must be magical to see your baby so early in the game.

And welcome Polkadot!

So, except for going to bed at 9:30 every night instead of 12 which is my normal bed time, I feel fine. No m/s or poo probs. Last night I said something about sleeping a lot because of the baby – he said oh you’re going to bed early because your PG? I thought you were just lazy . . . (he was joking about the lazy part, but not the PG part)

This is going to sound weird, but I told my boss even though I haven’t told my parents or DH’s parent yet. I was freaking out and unable to do my work, putting myself into a tizzy worrying about how my boss was going to handle my leaving. I’m so glad I told her, because I think I might have had a panic attack if I didn’t. We were waiting to tell my family since my sister is moving back to the area this weekend, and it seemed silly to not wait a week to tell them all in person. The only issue is the same sister is bringing her new BF to meet the family on the same day. I’m waffling between waiting another week and saying let the guy be a little weirded out – new baby trumps new boyfriend. :p

I’m still in a bit of shock that this happened in the first month for us – I have this sense of wonder that I work the way I’m supposed to. This baby will be the first great-grand child for 5 of our grand parents.

Thanks to all of you for the welcome...I am crossing my fingers that I am in here well into May. I am driving myself crazy at this point ...I am going in for a repeat beta tomorrow (Saturday) but I know I wont get the results until Monday ...so I am nervous...this is the point last time when I got the bad news...so of course I am scared...my doctor was very confident...so I need to be too..

I made Brian stop at CVS so that I could buy a 3 pack of test...that way I can test everyday until Monday and I can see the line get darker.

If you girls dont mind, those of you who have to have repeat betas, what was your first beta number? and how many DPO were you...

My 1st beta was 20 @ 14DPO

thanks girls again for the sweet welcome!!

giry76

Polkadot: Were in the same boat being worried and waiting on numbers. My doctor didn't call me last night or so far today. I'm not expecting anything until Monday.

The spotting is still making an appearance but I'm feeling at peace about it. I know there isn't anything I can do about it but take it easy. Tonight is DH birthday (well really tomorrow) so this will be my night out off the couch. I'm taking a break from bedrest and going out to eat. I have no idea what I'm going to order since nothing sounds good to me except water, lol. So this will be a challenge. I'm going to wear some of my cute maternity clothes my Mom bought me so I'm excited about that. Is anyone else feeling big already? I'm totally out of most of my clothes already and wearing maternity capris majority of the time unless I'm home then it's PJ's. Well I hope everyone has a nice Saturday. God Bless!!!

I am terrible at SO's, just to warn you, because I'm always running after my little boy--he'll be 2 in 3 weeks. And speak of the devil--he just woke up! Gotta go!

polkadot - my thoughts are with you!

chicksinger - congrats! I was wondering how things were going for you since I remember you saying you were hoping to start trying again this summer. It looks like we are true repeat offenders here - first babies in Oct 04 and now May 07!

Ok - I guess I'll finally fess up and join in....

Any other children: DD - Kyra - Oct 15, 2004

I have been holding out with officially joining since we haven't told anyone yet. I want to hold out until after my first appointment and let our families know know at our DD 2nd birthday party. But my first appointment is Oct 9 and it's killing both of us to not have said anything to anyone so I have to blurt it out somewhere. I must be putting out a pg vibe because we have been cornered by some really good friends already thinking that I'm pg. Not to sound evil - but it's kind of fun lying right now! ;)

Is anyone really hopeful for a specific delivery date - besides not anything overdue? :) This may sound really odd but we are both hoping that this alien will make it's appearance on 5/5/07 - it would be the 7th anniversary of our first date on 5/5. Silly, I know, but kind of fun!

And I have to post a new funky kids line that I like - if you have a little rocker in you - this will be right up your alley. They are a local company (Minneapolis) but it looks like you can order off their website.

Dr's appt. went great on Friday! Mom and sister went with me. I think that was what my mom needed to really get excited. I went to my cousin's bridal shower on Saturday and mom was telling everyone (luckily before the bride showed up...wouldn't want to steal her thunder).

BTW, found out one of my best friends is pg also! She told me on Friday and we're about 2 weeks apart. I'm so excited to have someone close to me to go through this with. SIL is due in Dec, but lives in CA so it's not so close.

Oh yeah, my first u/s is October 5!!!!

Polkadot: My thoughts and prayers are with you. I took tons of pregnancy tests after I got my BFP also to make sure the line was still there. I'm sure everything is fine. I'll be praying for sticky vibes for you!!! God Bless!!!

Good afternoon! I'm so tired today! Last night we all went out for DH birthday and we had a good time. I ended up ordering spagetti at a seafood resturant  lol. It's the only thing that looked appealing to me. I had to "special" order it too. lol. I'm getting really nervous about my ultrasound tomorrow. I hope the baby has grown since my last one on Wednesday. I'm hoping the h/b will be higher too. I really wish DH was going too but he can't get out of work. My Mom is going with me though so that'll be cool! My OB never called with my beta results which I figured I'd have to wait until Monday. Hopefully it's good numbers. So Polkadot I know exactly how your feeling right now! Well back to bedrest. God Bless!!!

I have a question. Is anyone else having difficulty sleeping comfortably already? I don't remember having this with my DD this early on. It hurts my back to sleep on either side and usually the only comfortable position is on my back. I tried a body pillow, but that doesn't seem to help. Is anyone else having this issue?

Yes! I am definitely having this problem. I am a stomach sleeper, so that's the first hard part. Then, when I try to sleep on my side, my BBs are sore, so that doesn't work, and sleeping on my back is totally uncomfortable. I'm completely sore every morning when I wake up. DH says it's our bed and we need to get a new one. I think I'm just slowly getting used to changes in my body.

polkadot - a line is a line!! Hoping that you get some really good news this week! Oh, my urine test at my doc's office came back negative, so it can definitely happen - especially when it's really early. *stickies*

-----------------

Nausea: none, yet (knock on wood) I also haven't had any really weird cravings or aversions, but I did eat a hot dog the other day and liked it - and I've never liked hot dogs.

Sleeping: no problems here, either. I can still sleep comfortably on my stomach, thank goodness.

-----------------

We told my family this weekend, and they were SO excited. I thought my mom was going to pee her pants. :p We ended up ordering little hospital-style bracelets with "grandma, grandpa, uncle, etc." on them, and it didn't take long for them to figure it out.

We're going to keep it just family right now - I told my mom that she could tell everyone else when I have my first u/s. I have a feeling she won't be able to keep it to herself for that long, though.

I just pray everything will be fine. Feeling pretty good today. No m/s still. Just not wanting to eat much. I get my cravings every now and then. I hope I sail through with no m/s. Is anyone else noticing that their skin is super dry? The skin on my face and the side of my boobs and on my stomach are super dry no matter how much lotion I put on. It's frustrating! lol. Well I'm going to go surf the CC and go get ready. Pray for me. Pray everything is okay with the baby and is growing like he/she should be. God Bless!!!

polkadot, chicksinger, karen, & gf&js-Welcome & congratulations!!!

polkadot- I too tested after my initial BFP, and received a fainter line. SO, I ran out to buy five other tests, and low & behold- all BFPs... I then decided to let my body do what it has to do. I decided not to test anymore & figured if there is a problem, I would have some signs (ie. bleeding). I hope that you are feeling more at ease. It is tough to be excited when it all seems so fragile

tonysweetie- I will be thinking of you. I hope your numbers & your US look good! please keep us posted...

nauseau- check
hard time falling asleep- check
extremely tired- check
food aversions-check

:( I am not feeling so hot! I do notice, that on days that I HAVE to be on, I am better though. Maybe on my off days, my body is just taking advantage, so I can get the much needed rest. Yesterday I slept for something like 15 hours! But then, I got a burst of energy and went running  It was my first time running since my BFP, but it felt great! I was hoping to do pilates and go for a walk today (my day off), but no such luck yet... we'll see how the rest of the day goes...

I spoke too soon about m/s. I am not throwing up, but I just feel so yucky! And these freaking bb's!! They hurt so bad! They hurt when I go to bed and especially when I wake up in the morning.

So far, I have had 2 pg dreams. The first one was last week and in it, all I remember is watching my belly grow and my bellybutton pop out. My whole dream was about my belly...I saw nothing else. Weird... I can't wait until I start showing though!!
My second dream was Saturday night. The whole dream was me shopping for maternity clothes.

Well, I must get back to work...yay:rolleyes:

Polkadot~I am so sorry for your husband and your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you both.

Yolanda~I'm with you on the pained boobs! However, for me it's all day long. I've got to be honest...I'm afraid that I might poke out some innocent bystanders eyes with my nipples!! Do you have this problem too? As for the morning sickness, as I posted yesterday, I have definitely experienced this. But everyone says that it's a good sign and means that I'm having a healthy pregnancy. So if that's the case, bring it on (-:

Oh my goodness my nipples are out of control! The general breast pain is a bit better than the first week, and a hot shower in the am helps a lot. But now my nipples are perpetually hard and huge. I had big boobs and nips to start with, and now they seem enormous. I can't imagine what it will be like later on and while I'm BFing. I've started wearing a sports bra for extra support and and am still sticking out through all the extra fabric.

Hey everyone! I've got a quick question. I've noticed since my U/S today I've had cramping and a little more bleeding. Is this normal? I noticed it started up like 20 minutes after the U/S. I'm a little worried about it. I've been bleeding all this time but it seemed to have gotten a little redder. I'm so nervous!!!....again....

Tonysweetie You need to talk to your Doctor. If you had the internal ultrasound it could have irritated your cervix but any worsening should be brought to their attention.

KeliAnn
09-19-2006, 06:51 AM
My boobs are definitely hurting, and my nipples are screaming! They do hurt worse in the morning b/c I'm a stomach sleeper, and then they hurt by mid-afternoon from being crammed into my bra. I think I'll have to move up to another bra size in a few weeks ... or start wearing sports bras all the time. 'Course, I started with 32Bs, so I have plenty of room to grow. :p

Tonysweetie: Your cervix is probably just tender and irritated from the u/s. Did they say anything about possible cramping and bleeding after they did the u/s? Even sex can cause bleeding while you're pg because the cervix is so tender. I wouldn't worry about it unless your cramping is much stronger than normal AF cramping.

Sunshine

Tonysweetie~What kind of u/s was it, external or internal?

I have started feeling all day yucky again......sigh. Went to bed quite early b/c I just felt so gross, thinking it would help....but then the dreams kept me awake:p

We just found out a friend of ours, his GF is due 20 daysish after I am due. It is kind of neat b/c we went to school together and are only 3 months apart ourselves!
They havent been together long tho, so I hope everything works out for them:)

I think Lil' Shrimp has already had a growth spurt. I knew it was possible to show earlier this pregnancy. I was hoping I wouldn't. ;) Its so funny. My first pregnancy, I couldn't WAIT to be in maternity clothes. I thought they were so, so cute! Then by the end of pregnancy, I was ready to burn them all. And now, with this pregnancy, I can't wait to be in 'comfortable' clothes again, but I don't want to gain weight again! :p

boobs/nipples Mine aren't anywhere close to as sore this time, thank goodness. It felt like someone was cutting them with a sharp, sharp knife last time.

Tonysweetie I know cramping and some spotting is normal. Have you called your doc?

Tonysweetie
09-19-2006, 08:44 AM
The u/s was external not internal. The cramping isn't here this morning. Maybe I was hitting a growth spurt or something? Who knows? I'm going back to the doctor on Monday so I'll ask her then. Thanks everyone. It's so hard not to worry about every little thing that you feel. Anyone else ready for it to be May yet? lol. I'm ready to be holding my baby in my arms and knowing he or she is happy and healthy. :)

Has anyone heard from Sadie yet? I'm getting worried about her! Let me know if anyone has and I missed it. :)

Is anyone brave enough to post belly shots yet? I was on the front page and noticed nobody has posted yet, hehe. I've been taking them since I found out but I don't plan to post until 2nd trimester. :)

KeliAnn
09-19-2006, 09:23 AM
TS: I'm sure everything is fine. I think you only need to worry if you're having *heavy* cramping and *heavy* bleeding. I know, it's hard not to worry, especially the first time around, but just remember that little baby is affected when you're stressed. :)

No belly = no belly shots. :p

LILRTL: You're showing already? Part of me is jealous, and part of me is not. ;) I've read that RO's show earlier the 2nd (or 3rd ...) time around.

Belly Shots~Hubby has been taking them for me since 4w.....I know nothing is noticeable yet, altho I am taking quite low shots rather than just the belly, so I can actaully tell when the bloating down below gets bigger:)
I wont post a shot until 10 weeks:) And then probably every 2 weeks after that:) Here anyhow.......

Tonysweetie~Her last post was her saying she was going to lay low for awhile:( Not sure after that.......

KeliAnn~Thank you! I guess I should just be thankful that I actually havent gotten Sick yet.......

LILRTL~OMG, such a great description. That is Exactly how my nipples feel. OMG! Just like knives........I hope it doesnt last long. YAY that yours arent nearly as painful this time around:)
Isnt it amazing how after your 1st baby you show alot quicker? I wonder why....unless its just that your body is used to the changes so they happen sooner.....

I'm here but probably won't be for much longer. My hcg level was 1300 last Wed and only went up to 1600 by Friday. I have more bloodwork and another u/s tomorrow, but I don't expect to get good results at this point. I just think there is no hope left for this PG. I had some confusion this week! I went to the doctor for a bladder infection (thanks to the sexapaloosa it took to get this baby) and I asked for the antibiotics that are safe for pregnancy. The doctor said, "But you're not pregnant!" (They did that test when they checked the urine for the infection.) I insisted that I was (c'mon, lady, late period PLUS 5 positive PG tests??), so she wrote out the scrip and ordered a blood test.

I came home ALL confused, and decided to POAS before dinner. Hel-LO, pink lines, right there, at freakin' 4 pm. And the same today with FMU. Uh, yeah doc, I don't know what your assistant was smoking yesterday. Fortunately, there's nothing wrong with *my* vision. I could practically see this morning's lines in the dark! No worries. I have a real appt. (OB/Gyn) tomorrow, so maybe I'll get a follow-up blood draw.

Thanks to everyone for the great welcome. I'm so glad to be here. No symptoms yet, unless you count an EXCELLENT dream starring Hugh Jackman. PG dreams are so crazy. Last time, the "dirty penny mouth" started at 5 weeks. I'm dreading that.

gf&js I did see you post earlier--glad you're "out" now! Does Kyra still have the cutest hair ever? :) Re: due dates--our first wish was for April, but I'll take ANYTHING in May, too. I'll just be so glad to be done before the summer this time!

LILRTL *sniff* look at that flat young belly! I remember those days! :p BTW, the scoop on betas is that the numbers (measuring the hCG in your blood) are supposed to double every 2 days--more for multiples. So, if I get another blood draw tomorrow, the numbers should be at least twice what they were at my other doctor's appt. on Monday.

Hey everyone. So I called the doctor's office to get the results back from the ten pints of blood they took on Friday and was happy that everything came back clear. We have a sonogram on Thursday and I have no idea what to expect. Has anyone else gotten a sonogram yet? I guess that will give us a confirmation on the due date, but I'm sort of curious if we're going to see anything in the film.

I've got to say, I love that everyone is comparing notes on what's going on with them! I had no idea that when you're pregnant that you have wierd dreams, but it sure explains why I had a dream with Bill Clinton (don't ask) :). And it's also great that I can discuss my lethal weapons, a.k.a. my nipples and the fact that my boobs hurt 24/7! The boobs stop hurting eventually, don't they?!?!?

LILRTL: Nice pictures. My husband and I keep saying that we need to start the whole month-by-month picture thing, but I HATE taking pictures! I was even contemplating avoiding wedding pictures ;)...that didn't really work out though! I think it's great that you put the pix on, I will definitely load mine on when we finally take one! It would be cool if we could all start loading pictures so we can compare what's going on. I don't know who else is a first timer, but it's nice to have people to commiserate with that are going through the same thing at the same time!

Tonysweetie: I'm with you. Actually, I'm on the couch as I'm typing. The funny thing is that if I don't feel sick, I actually get a little worried :)

This is me! I don't feel great - kinda tired, bbs kinda sore, but not awful. So I want to feel awful? I can't decide.

Is anyone else not going to be seen by your dr until 12 weeks?! I wish I had some feedback that everything is ok in there.

Polkadot -
I am so sorry.

Sadie -
I am thinking good thoughts for you but it makes me nervous that you haven't updated yet.

Welcome and congratulations to Chicksinger and any other new members I missed!

I keep worrying because my bbs are not sore. I keep mashing them to check and nope, they really pretty much aren't. They were with DS but they didn't grow much and so far no growth this time either and that makes me sooooo nervous because of the bf'ing issues we had.
I am actually going to ask for an u/s of them so they can make sure everything "looks right' with them (like I have enough milk ducts, etc).

Other than that I seem to have all day queasiness, on and off. Yet another reason I'm pretty convinced this is a girl - I didn't have much of that with DS, only if I didn't eat often enough.

I also still haven't decided what I want to do as far as birthing goes. I keep putting off calling the midwife I used last time because she only does hospital births, but OTOH I am not totally sure we will go the homebirth route so I kind of don't want to call one of them yet either. Guess maybe I will see if the midwife I went to before wants to see me anytime soon and at least start out going to her if she does.

Is anyone else not going to be seen by your dr until 12 weeks?! I wish I had some feedback that everything is ok in there.

I won't. Well, I'm not planning to see an OB at all, but I won't be seeing the midwife till ~12 weeks, due to being away from home for the next two months. It just doesn't work to try and find someone down here for just one visit. Also, I need to be with my dad 24/7, so he would have to come to the appointment with me.

I'm feeling comfortable with things. People keep asking if I've gotten "proof" from the Dr that I'm pregnant. Which I haven't. But I Know. I've POAS 4 times, all with BFP. AF is weeks late and I'm never more than 2 days late, my temperatures have been high for like 30 days in a row. My boobs hurt, I'm tired, etc. Also, I don't know where you are spiritually, but I definitely feel like I have confirmation from God that things are ok.
On the other hand, not to be overly negative, but you can never know that everything is definitely OK. You can have tests to rule out XYZ and these that A & B levels look good, and see on the US that this or that is in the right place, but there are still no guarantees. We can't get hung up on them because they are rare, but there are problems that no test or scan can detect or predict. I don't see that in a scary way, more like that it is something to come to terms with and move on. So, I just trust in God, and trust in my body. I do believe that there will be a sign either physical or intuitive/emotional if something is happening.
If something felt wrong, or I started a lot of spotting, bright red bleeding, etc. then I would go get it checked out.

Have you been charting? I have continued to take my basal temp (but don't write it down anymore) and if there was a drop it could be a warning sign of MC.

Yolanda: Ooh, I like the idea of a QOTD!! Other threads have it, and it seems to keep everyone in sync. :)

giry76: Good luck today!!

Rico'sAlice: I just wanted to say that I totally respect your beliefs, and I am so appreciative of the way in which you share them.

Steve's Sweety: I hope everything is okay with the bb's. *crossing fingers*

Feisty: I know what you mean! I almost kinda wish I would get sick so I would know that everything's okay. But not really. :p My doc doesn't see me until 10 weeks, and it does make me a little anxious - I just want to know what's going on in there.

karen2324: Glad to hear that everything came back a-okay with your blood test. *happy dance* Well, you could have ended up like us and have a bajillion wedding pictures taken and then have your photographer lose 3/4 of them - never to be seen again.

Tonysweetie: Hope you're feeling better today!

chicksinger: My doc urine test came back negative, as well, so I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Especially if you're getting positive HPT's. Thankfully, the blood test confirmed mine. I haven't had any weird pg dreams, but if I do, Hugh Jackman definitely needs to be there! ;)

I had a beta done this morning, and it came back around 250. I go for a repeat on Friday morning!

I'm looking forward to spending the next 8 months or so with you all!

QOTD~What names have you picked out or discussed?
Boy~Marcus
Girl~Aleeya
We've discussed many names, we have been together over 8 years now, its hard NOT to talk about these things;)

Altho we have decided NOT to find out the sex of the baby, so we wont officially know which one our baby is until after the birth.
I wanted SO BADLY to hang the babies name above the crib, but decided I am not going to do it. We can say all we want that we will do it after tha baby is born, but I know we wont. ANd we could get both names ready, but come on, how silly is that.
ANd I want to have the nursery pretty well completed before babies arrival...I dont want a big empty space where the name MAY be displayed:p

I'm feeling decent so far today I guess. I keep getting the queasies every now and then. I'm getting anxious to hear from my OB with the results of my blood work and my U/S. I don't know if she is going to call or I have to wait until Monday for my next apt. I might call later today if she doesn't call by then. No real big plans today except more couch rest. It's starting to make my legs restless. I feel like going for a run, lol. My craving for today is a nice big juicy corn dog! lol. I wish I had some, I even thought about running to the store just to buy some but DH took my car to work and I don't know how to drive stick so I can't take his :o Ohwell I guess I better wait for him to get home and let him go get me some since I'm not suspose to be up and about anyways. lol. Well have a great day everyone!!! God Bless!!!

Steve's Sweety: Mine hurt off and on. One day they'll hurt and the next they won't. That worries me too. lol. Infact everything worries me at this point especially the spotting.

Good luck at your apt. Giry76 let us know what happens! God Bless!!!

My TCOYF is back in MA and I can't find something definitive online. I wasn't really thinking in terms of the whole pregnancy, but maybe for the first 8 weeks or so. I searched for a couple of my pregnant friend's charts and some of them went up to CD60-70 with temps consistently well above cover line. Up and down, but still relatively high. It certainly makes sense that at some point things may change naturally and it won't be helpful anymore. Thanks for mentioning that. I'll keep looking.

I am having all sorts of cravings today....corn dogs, Olive Garden soup, salad, and bread sticks, and Longhorn steak with mushrooms, baked potato, and a nice ceaser salad with there yummy bread dipped in honey mustard! OMG! lol. I think I'm going to call DH on his way home to pick me up some corn dogs to hold me over and maybe this Friday I can talk him into taking me out since I've been on bedrest the past week and 1/2 for a nice night out hopefully! :)

Is anyone else having trouble drinking water like they should be? I can only manage to get about 2 cups down a day. Just the thought of it makes me wanna gag. I'm also having major issues with my prenatel vitamins. I gag as I take them. I'm thinking about asking my doctor if I can take those kids chewables or something. I haven't taken it today yet. I keep putting it off but I know I need too. I haven't skipped a day yet. Well I better run DH will be home soon. I need his help getting a lizzard out of the house, lol. The kitties haven't found it yet...darn them so I guess I have to do it.

Welcome to all the new ladies!

Just back from my first OB appointment. Everything went well. I had my annual pap done today cause it was about time. It was more painful than I remember. It was managable but I could have done without it. ;) He felt around for my uterus and said it felt about right for how far along I am.

The good news is that I can drink apple cider! We go to a cider mill around here and they don't pasturize it. So I wanted to get his ok. Of course I already drank some but he said it was fine. He knew of the place we go and knows the owners and all that jazz.

Amy_6405~Welcome to the thread and CONGRATULATIONS! Sending TONS of sticky dust your way:D

Hawaii2SJ~That's okay! Seeing an entry post is pretty easy, if you have problems with posting in red when you post your doc appointments etc, maybe just bold it so we notice it above all the other posts! (And I'll add your dr appointment for tomorrow to the list too!)
But WELCOME AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Tonysweetie~Water seems to be the only drink I crave! And I drink ALOT OF IT! LOL! At least 2L a day actually! I definately drink bottled water tho, I cant stomach tap water...
They do make Very small pre-natals. My GF was taking them....You acn buy them at Walmart. I'll remember to post the name of them for you tomorrow! Her doc recomended them to her b/c she couldnt swallow the big ones either...
Oh wait, found em....
orifer f
They are tiny round pills....cant find a pic of them. But if you google the name you can find a page that gives you all the vitamins etc in the prenatal:)

giry76~That is so great your doc appointment went so well!
And what great news about the apple cider!

Rico'sAlice & Sunshine: I read in Ovusoft (I think) that you can keep temping for a while to check for a m/c. I temp here and there just to make sure my temps are still high and haven't noticed any drastic changes.

--------

QOTD: Well, that's the one thing we're planning on keeping to ourselves until the end - or at least we find out what the sex is. DH doesn't care if we share the names, but I kinda want to keep them under wraps for a while. But both first and middle names for boy and girl are 100% decided on.

QOTD: We have a few picked out and I put the list in my journal but I don't plan on telling until we know the sex or we might even wait until the end. Never know....hmmmmm hehe.

Tempting: I do it every few days or so. Everytime I think about it I've just drank a cold drink so I know it wouldn't be very accurate.

Just got back from my appointment and u/s. I started spotting yesterday, and based on my bloodwork from last week the doctor said that the chances of this being a normal PG are very low. She did the u/s and said the sac looked bigger than it did last week, but still didn't see anything in it. So she did more b/w and I should get the results of that tomorrow. If my betas have gone down, or are not significantly higher, then she's going to call in a prescription for me that will cause cramps and basically speed up the miscarriage process. If she still can't tell anything based on the numbers, then I'll have another u/s next week.

Well...

QOTD: For a girl: Felicity Marie, for a boy, we have many options: Parker, Raymond, Nicholas (this was my bil's name and he passed away this summer, I don't want it, but my husband likes it. It will most likely be a middle name) Michael, who knows.

Tonysweetie~ I had the gagging feeling with bottled water this morning. It's the first bout out m/s I thought I might have. I think it was because I hadn't eaten breakfast yet, because after I got to work, and ate breakfast, I was able to drink 2 full bottles.

Well, ladies...I'm off to Canada tomorrow for a friend's wedding! I can't wait to go to Niagara Falls!!

Sadie~I'm thinking good thoughts for you and your husband, and sending tons of love your way!

Amy_6405 & Hawaii2SJ~ Welcome and congratulations! Here's to a great eight months for both of you with as little time praying to the porcelain g-d as possible!

Tonysweetie~Actually, I've been drinking A TON of water! I always drank a lot of water, but now it's like I don't go anywhere without my bottle o' water. However, the prenatal vitamins, a.k.a. horsepills, that I take suck. The coating of the pill seems to have some sort of taste that makes me want to gag....but we all know that morning sickness is definitely something that I am experiencing! Are you able to drink any other liquids or are they all making you sick? I've actually gotten to the point where ginger ale is my enemy. Who woulda' thunk it?!?!?

It's funny that y'all have been talking about names because my husband and I were talking about it the other day....I even thought we were getting ahead of ourselves! It's great to hear that we're not the only ones, but we're definitely having fun with the whole thing. My DH said that it would be fun to name the baby Nigel (no, he hasn't seen too many Bond movies). Since Nigel's usually a British name, he thought it would be funny nad suprise people when the the baby/child starts talking and doesn't have a British accent..and THAT'S why i have veto power ;)

We are going to name the baby after my DH's grandmother so the name needs to start with a "C". This is, so far, what we have:

Cassidy
Cadee/Cady/Cadie
Connor (which my husband is not rooting for, but which is still up for negotiation)
Cailey

Basically, we haven't come across any "C" names for boys that we liked, so we're still looking.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to my appointment tomorrow a.m. I have a sonogram so they can confirm the May 9th due date. Has anyone else gotten their first s/g yet?

Welcome and congratulations to Sunflower, Amy & Hawaii!

Sadie -
You are in my thoughts.

QOTD: We are also keeping names to ourselves but boy do I love to talk names. We had compiled a list when I was PG with DS and waited until we met him before we chose his name. The other strong contender then was Gavin but we will not be using that this time.
I will say that since we can link Holden to a literary work and I was raised by my grandma who was a librarian (if it's a girl the middle name will be after her) we have decided to compile a list of mainly literary linked names this time around too and hopefully will still want more after this and will use literary names for all of them.
And some names I love that we cannot use because they sound unpleasant with our last name: Finn, Quinton & Easton

I had a dream (I just typed I had a girl, hmmm) last night that this is a girl and we named her Katie/Kate.
I think I am going to go ask if other women had dreams about what sex they were having and went on to have the other one because I have my heart set on another boy but have a feeling it is a girl. I know that is bad to say but I am just being honest.

Yesterday and today I had all day queasiness, ugh.

Wow this place moves fast....welcome aboard to the new folks! For those going through rough situations - hang in there - we are all thinking of you!

qotd - names - we will probably keep the name thing under wraps too. What is weird though - I think we actually have a girl's name already (first name at least). The boy will be an issue again - my dh has his heart set on something his parents did - Dad's name was reverse for son (first became middle and middle became first). While I appreciate the sentiment of it - I'm not a big fan of directly name a child completely after someone b/c if we have boy - it will be the same name as grandpa but not a jr. I know it works for lots of people but just don't feel right for me.

How am I feeling? Wiped out. My boobs have not hurt nearly as much as last time - it was winter and I wanted them to freeze and fall off. And I think I'm more nauseous than last time. Could be selective memory.

Late doc appt - my office won't see me until 9-11 weeks - so I'll be there during week 10.

Wish me luck tomorrow - big happy hour for a bunch of my teammates that are leaving - I'm going to having to figure out how to order an O'Douls Amber without drawing too much attention. It should be fun! :)

Iīve lurked in this thread for a couple of days but didnīt want to join so far as I had a m/c in May at 11 weeks. But although I still donīt want to get my hopes up too high, I have decided to join now that my first appointment is over. I had such an early appointment as we are flying from Germany to Florida on Tuesday and I wanted to make sure that it isnīt an ectopic. As it is still so early, she could not see an embryo but the amniotic sac had a yolk sac in it and she said it looked good for 5w1d. Before I chicken out again, here are my stats:

Married: October 2nd, 2002

Gender Prediction: none
Any other children: Maya Allison (born February 14th, 2003) and Olivia Nathanielle (m/c because of Trisomy 21 on May 23rd, 2006)

QOTD: We havenīt talked about names this time because I feel itīs much too early. Although I have been pregnant twice, I never found a nice boy name I liked (despite Nathaniel but only few people could pronounce that in Germany). There are several girl names I like but none that I like as much as Maya and Olivia. Since Olivia died, I think about using Olivia as a middle name if we have another girl.

Hope we all have pretty uneventful pregnancies that last until May! :)

Welcome bellabonga! I'm so happy for you and am praying for a very H&H 9 months! :D

6w today and I'm feeling really good.

I haven't had any m/s (knock on wood), but I did have a haaard time with my PNV yesterday morning. I don't know what happened, but I gagged up the first one and had to throw it away. Ick. This morning was fine, though. I'm just sooo sleepy and having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

I noticed that my belly was poking out last night, and it was really tight, but then it was flat this morning, so it must have just been bloating.

Oh, had a dream last night that I told my boss, and it was really weird. At first, he was shocked, but then he kept rubbing my tummy. It was so real that when I came into work this morning, I was surprised that he didn't say anything about it. Crazy.

Sadie: (((Hugs))) I'm so sorry! I really hope that your numbers come back nice and high and you get another u/s and everything is good! I'll keep you and your DH in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there! God Bless!!!

Welcome bellabonga congratulations H&H 9 months to you!!!!

Feeling decent today. I just ate a bowl of honeycomb cereal and if left this awful taste in my mouth. Yuck! I even brushed my teeth and I still can taste it. Me and DH are having a bit of a problem. DH wants to join the National Guard it's like this dream he has and I'm all for him doing this but he wants to leave for boot camp and training and be back before the baby is born but the job he is picking requires 9 weeks of boot camp and 14 weeks of training. The earliest he would probably beable to leave would be by the end of next montht he 1st of November which would put him back about 3 weeks before the baby is due. This soooo worries me. What if he doesn't make it back in time? I probablly won't get to see him graduate from boot camp b/c my doctor might not let me travel around then. He'll probably graduate in January b/c he gets 10 days off to come home for Christmas. Which would put him 2 weeks later. I'm a wreck over it and don't know what to do. He wants to make this decision tonight. We've been planning this for months now but then we found out that I'm pregnant and he is still wanting to do it. I obviously don't want him too but he does have a point. He said that once the baby comes he knows that he wont' want to go. I agree! That would be very difficult for him. I want him to do this b/c it's his dream but I'm so worried he'll miss the birth or what if something happens and he's not here. I'm just terrified. Well I just wanted to vent a little....Thanks for listening. God Bless!!!

bellabonga So great to see you here. I think we were both members of the December group. Sending sticky vibes your way!

Tonysweetie That is a hard choice! I don't think I could go through the rest of my pregnancy without DH, but if I had a choice of before the baby or after the baby I guess I would choose before too.

It's so weird to be here though. I followed (but didn't join) the November 2005 Mommies thread, and here I am again! We just found out yesterday and it just doesn't seem real. I'm about 5 weeks along, will have my first Dr. appt in about 3 weeks. We are so excited! No real symptoms yet, except going to the bathroom every 5 minutes. But other than that...normal. I do have a question though. I'm still nursing my daughter. Will my milk dry up because I'm pregnant? I was planning on nursing until she's one year old, so another month and a half. Do you think that'll happen? Or should I try and wean her now? Thanks for the help! Hope everyone has a great day in pregnant land! :)

Emilyln & Bellabonga~ Congratulations and here's wishing y'all a happy, healthy, and blissful nine months!

Tonysweetie~Wow. You're facing a tough decision right now and all you can pray for is the best. If this is truly your husband's dream, then I know you don't want to stand in his way. That being said, I know it'll be tough to go through everything without him physically being there. Do you have family around? Sometimes that helps. Well, I'm sending you tons of strength and confidence that whatever you decide, it will be the right thing.

Well, today my husband and I went and had our first sonogram. Everything went great and they said it was all normal--YEAH!!! It was really funny, my husband didn't understand why everytime I go to the ob/gyn office i have to take off my clothes. Hmmmmm. The fun of being a woman. Anyways, we saw our little "blip" on the screen and saw the heartbeat. It was really cool. We have to go back in three weeks so they can remeasure the baby and confirm the due date that they came up with this week. (Since I wasn't reall exact on the first and last day of my last period, I sort of threw them off). So that's about all of the baby excitement for the day. Still feeling nauseated and worn out, but what's new? Anyways, here's to wishing y'all a great day! k

Sadie I am so, so sorry for your loss.

Tonysweetie What a tough, tough situation you are in! There is no way I would have wanted to go through my last pregnancy without DH. He would have missed childbirth classes, ultrasounds, everything. Yikes! I hope you guys can come to an agreement on it soon!

Welcome to the new members!! :D

So far, so good here! I haven't been nauseous since that one day (knock on wood!). I actually am feeling the total opposite that I did with Zach. With him, I had perfect, perfect skin. I was saying I wanted to be pregnant forever! :p This time, I am horribly broken out. With Zach, I was absolutely exhausted. So far, I have more energy than I know what to do with! What else? I was already getting sick with Zach, and (again, knock on wood!) right now, I feel great!!! Girl? Another boy? Who knows?! :p

Sadie :(

I am SO NERVOUS about my beta tomorrow. My beta yesterday was around 250 at 4 weeks, 1 day. My ob seemed to think it was a little low. Did anyone else have betas around 4 weeks? What were your numbers?

I am trying to relax and remain calm, but I want this baby to be okay so badly! It's a miracle that I'm pregnant at all, and I'm so worried that if I lose this baby I might not get another chance.

My blood draw is around 7:45 and I'll find out the results by lunch time.

Sadie~My thoughts are with you and I know you'll be back on one of these boards very soon! Sending you strength, courage, and lots of compassion.

Suzfuzsunflower~Good luck tomorrow! I hope everything goes well ;)

LILRTL~I feel your pain with the break-outs. It is just out of control! And the weird thing is that it's not just on my face, it's also on my chest. I finally got sick of it and went to get a facial today to see if that would help. I'm not sure if it'll clear up my face, but it was definitely relaxing which, with the way I've been feeling, was GREAT!!! Since this is our first, I really had no idea about all of the side effects of pregnancy...or how long they last. Hmmmm. The little known secrets of pregnant women :D. Maybe I'll write a book......

Tonysweetie~I wanted to write you back after my last posting because it was a little too "Stand By Your Man" for me, which is not like me at all and not what I wanted to express. My husband is in the restaurant industry and at work a ton, so I know what it's like to spend a lot of time without your DH and it's hard. Trust me, I'd love him to be around more so he can experience my nauseau for himself :D. But I'm fortunate enough to have my in-laws only 5 minutes away and they're great. Whatever happens, know that there are people in this forum that will hang with you throughout your pregnancy and will be your support system, as much as they can. I think we'll all share our experiences, our symptoms, our hormonal imbalances, and everything else as much as we can...or at least I know I will. So if he does decide to go, know that there are people (even though we've never met and are all just getting to know each other) that will be there for you. Hope this helps ;)

Anyways, I hope all of you are good. I just can't tell y'all how grateful I am for this forum. I am lucky to have great friends that have gone through this and talk to me about the symptoms they experienced while pregnant, but it's different. It's nice to have people that are going through it at the same time as I am so I can bitch uncontrollably :D. So here's a big THANKS to all of you that respond to my postings and have made me feel so comfortable after signing on only two weeks ago. Here's to eight more great months with y'all! k

sadie I'm sorry...many hugs to you.

I'm also having an opposite experience from my first pregnancy. I'm nauseated almost all day and I'm breaking out too. With Aiden I had a great pregnancy and I was only tired during the first trimester. Last night I coughed and it triggered the "heeving" like I was going to throw up....weird.

Well today I had my first ultrasound and I'm measuring 6weeks and 4 days which changes my due date to May 13th BUT my OB (who I LOVE....she delivered DS1) said we'll stick to my LMP which puts me at May 5th instead of the 7th since my periods have been very consistent. It was funny when I got there. The MA's remembered me and said "back so soon? didn't we just see you?" HaHa :) other than that everything looked great and I get labs done on October 18th.

So MODS could you changed my EDD to May 5th please
Thanks

Welcome to the new members!
Hawaii2SJ--I'm in SJ, right by the Los Gatos hills.
L&D Nurse I'm also due on 5/30 and have absolutely no symptoms yet. Didn't have them for a few weeks with DS, either.

I finally got the PG confirmation on my blood test! Also met the nurse/midwife at the OB I've just chosen (we changed insurance last year). I LOVE her!! I got a great feeling in that office, and the biggest encouragement was that she thinks I am a perfect candidate for a VBAC, which is something I'm praying for. She's also going to refer me for early physical therapy, as I had serious Pubis Symphesis Disorder (the hips separate early, like at 5 months!) and was quite disabled and unable to exercise and therefore gained too much weight. (Geez, what a novel I'm writing!)

Anyway, the two things of note from the appointment are that my due date is now May 30, 2007, and my first u/s is October 17 (to verify EDD and hopefully see the heart beating).

karen2324: THank you so much. I am lucky too to have family just minutes away so of course that is awesome and it's so nice to know I have all of you to lean on during this. Still no decision. It was a emotional night at my house earlier. Hopefully we'll figure it soon. :)

suzfuzsunflower: THis happened to me w/my first beta also. I was 8 weeks when I got it and the numbers came back like I was 4 weeks. After the u/s I measured at 6 weeks and 1 day. So my OB just moved my EDD. I'm sure everything is fine! I'll keep you in my prayers just incase! :)

Girls I need some help. Last week when I went to the ER they found that I have Bacterial Vaginosis well I did 5 days worth of RX (cream inthe vagina) and the symptoms are still here 2 days after I finished the RX. I am calling my dr. tomorrow to let her know but I read a few places online about how BV can cause miscarriage/or preterm labor. I even read even after being treated can still cause it. The miscarriage rate was like 31.5 % I'm FREAKING out! I figured once treated everything would be okay. Is this true or am I reading bogus info on the internet??!!

Thank you all for the friendly welcomes! :)

Sunshine, I also got much bigger during my first pregnancy by eating healthier. I had lots of fresh fruit and selfmade fruitshakes every day, as well as a huge glass of milk so that the baby has enough vitamins and calcium. I skipped the pizzas and ate lots of vegetables. By doing so, I gained 40 lbs!

Tonysweetie, thatīs a tough decision with your DH but it sounds as if he thinks he has to do it. You donīt want him to resent you for not using the opportunity later on. And although it is awful to go through pregnancy alone, it is probably worse once the baby is there. Do you have someone who can support you nearby? Sorry, I have no information about BV but it sounds scary. Iīm crossing my fingers for you that everything will be fine.

giry76, I remember you too from the December group (and the m/c thread?). Hope weīll both have more luck this time! :)

emilyIn, welcome! I know at least one longtime breastfeeding mom who bf through the whole pregnancy, so it seems to be possible.

karen, thatīs great that you already got to see the heatbeat!

Sadie, Iīm sorry about your loss. :( Maybe you want to join the m/c support thread in the Family Planning section. It helped me very much after my m/c.

LilRTL, Iīm always breaking out during hormonal changes, so I donīt look my best right now too. ;)

suzfuzsunflower, Iīm crossing my fingers for you that your betas have risen!

L&D Nurse, for most people it is much too early to have any symptoms at 4w1d, so I wouldnīt worry.

chicksinger, Iīm also considering a VBAC.

My betas came back at 3044 which is a medium range for 5w1d they said. My progesterone level is at 32 which is also okay, so I donīt have to take additional progesterone. So far Iīm feeling fine with only an occasional but very light wave of nausea.

Giry76~Congratualtions on making it to 8 weeks!!! :)

Tonysweetie~Good luck today with the doctor and, if it's at all possible, try not to worry about the chances of a m/c until you have to. I know that's like saying not to think about the 800 lb. gorilla that's in the room, sitting at the dinner table, but it'll give you some peace of mind. When I first found out I was pregnant, I was so freaked out that I'd miscarry that it was on my mind ALL THE TIME . Now I just sort of worry about the things that I have to worry about, and try not to think about the things that aren't real, but are based in fear. I know, easier said than done, but it eases your mind when you get there. And thinking that everything will be okay, saying it out loud, and believing it, helped me get over this anxiety.

Chicksinger~What's a VBAC???? I've never heard of acronym before.

Anyways, good morning everyone. Hope y'all are doing well. Like usual, I feel nauseus. Has anyone with morning sickness found something they can eat that doesn't make them want to toss their cookies, or anything else? Right now, the mere thought of saltines makes me want to go postal, but I know I need to eat something before I workout. Yep, feeling pukey, but still wanting to workout. Before I was pregnant, I engaged in really arduous workouts about 7 days a week, so it's hard for me to just cut it out of my life. I have cut the intensity significantly but, regardless of how crappy I feel, still try to drag my rearend to the gym. Is anyone else having this problem?

Here's to hoping you all have a great day and successful doctor's appointments!!! ;) k

karen, VBAC means vaginal birth after c-section. Iīve always been nauseous during the first months of pregnancy and I found that drinking ginger ale helped me.

Congratulations and welcome to all the newbies! :D

karen: So sorry you're still dealing with m/s. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I worked out a good bit before I got pg, but I've cut the running almost completely out. I read that you still need to be able to carry on a conversation when you're exercising, and I struggle so much when I run that I can't do it. :o I still walk about an hour everyday, do yoga a couple of times a week and lift weights every other day. But I can't help you with the m/s affecting your workouts. Just have faith that it will eventually go away.

Tonysweetie: Good luck with your doctor's appt today. I really think the internet is a necessary evil. I always get sucked into the worst case scenario when I read about things on the web, so I've had to force myself to quit reading everything out there. Just remember that it's not healthy to worry about everything that could go wrong. IF something does happen, then it's going to happen whether you worry or not. So keep thinking positive thoughts, ignore the stuff on the web, and create a healthy and happy environment for your baby to grow.

chicksinger: Congrats on the blood confirmation! I'm so glad you like your new nurse/midwife -- that will make all the difference in the world! And I hope you are able to have a VBAC.

suzfuzsunflower: Crossing my fingers for higher beta numbers!

We have a good sized group here!
Welcome to those of you who have just joined us!

Has anyone with morning sickness found something they can eat that doesn't make them want to toss their cookies, or anything else?I am hoping for some suggestions here too.
I have "all day queasiness" and it is all I can do to think of three things to eat a day that don't sound disgusting. My gf keeps saying you know you need to eat so just eat, even if it's just yogurt or something little. Guess she didn't have this issue during her pregnancies because if it were that easy I *would* just eat.
I was like this with DS too (minus the queasiness, just really picky about what I ate) but I gained 42 lbs anyway. And when I was PG with him my sweet tooth completely went away so I didn't even eat junk and still.
Yesterday I had:
tomato basil bagel with cream cheese,
pasta salad and a baked potato with sour cream and chives
oyster crackers and fruit
Total carb fest. Who knows what will sound good today?!? I have the hardest time with breakfast.

Well now that I've written a novel I'd better get going.
My aunt is coming over in a while to take us out and about shopping and stuff today so we are excited about that.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Tonysweetie

Thanks for everyone who replied to me. I just called to doctor to see if she can call me in another RX. Hopefully she will and I won't have to go in for another exam. I'm tired of having those, lol. I hope to get infection cleared up b/c it's scaring me. I read on the internet that is where my bleeding may have come from. It can cause spotting in pregnancy b/c the cervix gets inflammed. That sorta makes me feel better knowing the bleeding came from that instead of something being wrong with the baby. Hopefully that is the case anyways.

It was an emotional night at my house last night. DH and I sorta got into it over the whole military thing. It led to tears and me not sleeping very well. I just feel that I'm so alone in this pregnancy. I want him to be involved and he just doesn't seem interested that much. I mean he asks how I'm feeling all the time. Will get me what I need when I ask. He touchs my tummy every now and then but other than that he just doesn't seem as excited about the baby as I am. It's starting to rub off on me too. I've noticed lately I've been down and depressed a little. I think it's the bedrest and the infection really but it doesn't help knowing he's leaving probably and won't be back until right before the baby is born. I'll update when we make the decision that you all so much for the loving support!!!

Last night DH and I went to my Mom's for dinner and my Mom was telling me somethings about her experiences with labor and delivery and I have to admit I'm very nervous about it. Is anyone had a little anxiety over labor and delivery yet? For some reason it's been scaring me a little. Hopefully as I get closer the nervousness will pass on and I'll beable to focus on the ending result....a beautiful baby! :)

Sunshine: Yes I read your reply. Thanks! Actually I do have some prenatels from Wal-Mart that I bought right after I got my BFP was taking them until my doctor prescribed me Citracal Prenatels She said the RX is better b/c it has the DHA in it. *shrugs* all I know is if I take them I better be prepared to gag and feel crumby. I'm getting now where I take them before bed instead of in the morning now so I can sleep it off.

KeliAnn

Tonysweetie: If you guys truly weren't TTC, then I can understand your DH's lack of enthusiasm. He needs time to adjust to the idea. Having a baby isn't something that should be taken lightly, and he may not be on the same page as you because he simply wasn't ready for it. I'm sure he'll come around once it's all sunk in. :)

Plus, not all DH's are going to react the same way. My DH is a very reserved person, so he's not going ga-ga over this pregnancy, either, but I respect that he's going to respond differently than I am. Just because he doesn't rub my tummy everyday doesn't mean that he's not excited.

Tonysweetie
09-22-2006, 09:04 AM
Chiming in on the morning sickness thing: I haven't found much I can eat that doesn't make me want to toss my cookies. I usually eat what sounds good to me. If I want soup, I eat it, if I want ice cream, I eat it, if I want pizza I eat it. For example yesterday I was craving chicken nuggets so I went ot Wendys and got me some and ate maybe 3 and didn't want to finish them but I did. I'm at the point where I eat whatever I can and not feel guilty about it. Otherwise I wouldn't eat anything. Like right now I'm craving Olive Gardens Soup, Salad, and Breadsticks can you guess where DH and I will be going to dinner tonight? lol. Yep Olive Garden! :) I notice though that if I find something I want and after I eat it I don't want it again for a while. A couple days ago I was craving a corn dog. So DH ran to the store to get me some, he got me a giant 24 pack, bless his heart! lol. I ate 3 of the 24 an dI'm done with those for a while. So now I'll have those in my freezer for a long time I'm sure. lol. I hope everyone feels better!

KeliAnn: Thanks for replying! I know it's hard for DH to be excited. I know it's b/c of the whole National Guard thing. We had planned to start TTC once he returned from basic and training. But God had other plans for us. So I know it's b/c he feels pressured to hurry up and go and get back. I can imagine that it's emotionally hard for him. So I really do hope it works out for him so he can feel accomplished! :)

Hi All!

Thank you for the warm welcomes and words of support. I got a second BFP, so I am feeling a litle more confident. We told our families and I made an appt to see the OB for Oct 2nd. I am having a little bit of cramping on and off, it feels like right before AF arrives, so I keep running to the bathroom to check for blood, but nothing so far (***knocking on wood***). I mentioned the cramping to the nurse when I called to make my OB appt, and she said I could take Tylenol and use a heating pad on low, plus increase my fluid intake. She said she'd like to see me Monday for an u/s to rule out an ectopic pregnancy, but I am out of town until Tuesday, so she said to go to an Urgent Care or ER if it gets worse. I have heard cramping is a normal early pregnancy symptom, so I'm not that worried, but I will try to take it easy the next few days. Hope you all have a great weekend!

P.S. Threadmistress, could you please correct my EDD to 5/30/07... Thanks!!

help for m/s I worked on a cruiseship for 5 years, and the nausea from seasickness is quite similar. The onboard doctors always suggested eating green apples and sniffing fresh-cut lemons. The lemons really worked for me with DS. Also, eating pretzels regularly to have something in my stomach to soak up any stomach acid. The emptier your stomach gets, the "sloshier" it's going to feel. Another thing I've heard over and over is eating juicy watermelon. If it hits you first thing in the morning, try having protein before bed (sticks with you longer) or carbs if you wake up in the night. And finally, last time I sucked on a LOT of sour Jolly Ranchers, which serves the same purpose of Preggie Pops, only a lot cheaper and easier to buy!.

If greasy, fatty things are all you can eat, you gotta do it, a little, but don't forget that you should only gain 3-4 pounds for the whole 1st tri, since it will be @ pound a week after that! I gained 34 pounds last time, and it really complicated my pregnancy!

KeliAnn My girlfriend ran until 7 months. She had a beautiful boy, 7 pounds, last month!

Tonysweetie: I know it sounds like it might be the end of the world to have your husband gone for so long (mine was gone for 4 months and it was haaard) but if it's what's got to be done for your family to progress and be happy, then it'll be okay. You have family and us for support! And also, when I was pregnant last time, one of the girls in the thread, her husband was in boot camp and then active duty for 8 of her 9 months. He got to come home just for the birth. Luckily, she had her family near, and they took lots of pictures and stuff. It was hard for her, but she did okay. Hope that helps a little. I know it sounds scary...I hope it all works out for you guys.

On another note, don't worry about the labor and delivery. It's not as bad as you might think, especially if you're planning on having an epidural. And honestly, you don't think about it afterwards, cuz there's your perfect little baby. I won't lie, there is pain involved, but don't let it scare you. You're stronger than you think. :)

as for help for m/s: i read this somewhere, but I'm not sure where. Sucking ice cubes is supposed to help? I was never nauseated, so I'm not sure what really works, but don't rule out your prenatal vitamins. Mine made me feel so icky all the time! I had to stop taking them and just took folic acid. There's a new pnv that my dr gave me yesterday that has vitamin B12 in it, which is supposed to be easier on the stomach, and so far I haven't felt sick so maybe that's working.

and concerning weight: My last pregnancy I gained about 30 pounds, and I was already a little overweight. The Dr. never seemed worried about 30 pounds, since most of it was later in the pregnancy. And I lost it all as soon as she was born, it was awesome! But this time, I'm gonna try to gain less and hopefully lose more when the baby's born. The nurse I spoke to yesterday says it's more important to eat well than to be concerned about how much weight you gain. You NEED to gain some weight for the baby. Just don't go crazy! She said just to try and stay away from sweets and junk food. (Though an occasional Ben and Jerry's is to be understood in our conditions, lol) So don't worry, just try and be healthy for both of you!

Wow, I wrote a book! Hope that helps! Have a great day all!

I'm a little mad at my doctor's office. I called around 11 today to see if my doctor to call me in another prescription for my cream for my bacterial vag. infection b/c I'm still showing symptoms after finishing my antibotic. Well the receptionist lady took my info. and told me they would take care of it. Well 2.5 hours later I haven't heard anything. I called my pharmacy to see if my doctor called it in and she hasn't as of 30 minutes ago. So I called my doctors office back and they are closed for the day! I'm furious! I want to get rid of this infection b/c I'm afraid could cause harm for me and the baby! Plus it's uncomfterable and I want it to go away! ARGH!!!!! I guess I'll have to wait until Monday for my apt. I think that is ridiculous that they didn't do it or at least call me back to let me know she wasn't going too or whatever....okay sorry for the small vent. :)

emilyln: Thanks! It's nice to know I have support here when I need it. :)

Tonysweetie~I'm sorry:( Is there anyway you could maybe go to a walk-in clinic? Do you have those there? :o (I know everything is so different between Canada and the US, please excuse the what is probably an ignorant question.....)
That sucks tho, I cant believe they wouldnt call you back:mad:

Sunshine: Yea, we have a walk in clinic. I've been to it a couple times when I got sick on the weekends. I hate going there though b/c the staff is rude and inconsiderate. I hate being in situations like this. It's like should I wait should I not? I do still have the cream and I thought about using it but it said to only use for 5 days so that wouldn't be very smart of me I guess.

Tonysweetie~Did the dr tell you if a bath would help or irritate it? Maybe relaxing in a nice bath over the weekend might help allieve the worrying, and maybe help make you feel better?
I prob wouldnt use the cream either, unless you feel you really need it, in which case, I would take it.
Sorry.......:(

I've been lurking and just waiting to tell all of my CC/WC/LJ friends--but here I am!

This is our second time around and we are both excited, mostly because we've learned a few tricks along the way.

I primarily SAH with my son, but I also work 2 PT jobs from home and a PT(nights and weekends) job at our public library. My son keeps me busy--he has never been a fan of sleeping so we spend most of our day entertaining each other.

I look forward to spending the next 8+ months with everyone!

Sunshine: I would like to use the cream I already have but I don't know what kinda of concerns it could cause since I'm pregnant. I read on the directions that if this infection is left untreated it can lead to all kinds of complications. I assume not much can happen in a few days but you never know. Argh! Why does this stuff always happen on the weekends, lol.

Welcome and congrats JRose! H&H 9 months to you!!!

Tonysweetie, that sucks with your doctorīs office! After what youīve posted before, I would not wait over the weekend. I would either go to the walk-in clinic or call them and ask if you can continue to use the cream you have left.

Tonysweetie~Yah, I think I am agreeing with Bella, in you should probably go to the walk-in, just to be on the safe side. I know its going to suck, but it will be better than who knows what can happen:(
Good luck!

JRose~Welcome and Congratulations!!!:D

Tonysweetie - Sorry about your situation. :( I agree with the others that you should go to the clinic so that you aren't worrying the entire weekend (and to get any medical attention you may need).

:D Thanks for all the well wishes for my beta numbers. They doubled! Hooray! :D The next big hoop is the heart beat ultrasound. I am fearful that my baby will not have a heartbeat.

Tonysweetie - I would actually see about her giving you an oral antibiotic, apparently the cream didn't help clear up the infection. There are many meds that you can get that are safe in pregnancy. I had a bacterial infection in my last pregnancy and the start of another in this past pregnancy. I was put on antibiotics for 5 days and it cleared it right up.

Has anyone had a loss of pregnancy symptoms and have them return...?

I am concerned. For about 4 days before I took a hpt, I "felt" pregnant - nausous, very tried (yawning all the time), yucky, hot, etc.... Took a hpt Tuesday, found out I was pregnant, had beta done on Wed. to confirm pregnancy. Thursday I had no pregnancy symptoms. Friday, none. Had a repeat beta on Friday and my hcg number had doubled. But no pregnancy symptoms this morning either.

Like I said, I am very concerned. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks!

suzfuzsunflower How far along are you exactly? It's very, very common to not have any symptoms in the beginning. Some women really don't have symptoms at all! Today, for example, if my face wasn't broken out, I wouldn't have a clue! :p

I am only 4 weeks, 4 days. But I had symptoms, and they have seemed to go away....

Dr. said that I may have started having symptoms so early b/c I was on infertility drugs the month before, and they may have caused me to ovulate very early the next month b/c they were still in my system...so implantation would have been earlier...

Maybe I felt so badly between 3 weeks 4 days and 4 weeks because I may have had a cold on top of being pregnant...? I don't know.

This concerns me, though. I'm trying to call my reproductive endocrinologist right now just to ask, but I can only get their answering service at the moment.

Well, definitely call if you're that concerned. :) I was having symptoms before - I was slightly nauseated, had a sore stomach (like I had been working out - had the same with DS, tired). At almost 6 weeks, I'm thanking God I don't feel anything. lol

I am hopelessly behind in SOs....

Welcome to all of the new members, our group is getting big!!!

SuzFuz - I had symptoms the week before my period was due and I just knew I was pregnant. They went away and came back at 6w. I think it was implantation and then it just kicked back in.

I am feeling different from last pregnancy. I just could not eat last time in the first tri nothing sounded good at all, this time as long as I eat I feel better, nothing sounds great but at least I can eat. My bbs dont really hurt and last time they were on fire. I don't feel as tired or maybe I just don't have the chance to while having a toddler running around.

QOTD Names - Girl name has been Olivia Lee or Olivia Rose for years. We had a hard time with Cole's name and I suspect a boys name will be tough. My fingers are crossed for a girl but it would be nice for Cole to have a borther.

Hey everyone! I just signed on for the first time since mid-yesterday and had a lot of reading to do :). This is great!!

Suzfuzsunflower~About a two weeks ago, I posted something saying that I'm so used to feeling nauseus that when I don't, I get worried :), so I totally understand!! Are the symptoms coming and going??

Tonysweetie~Wow! How long have you been with your OB/GYN? When I went in for my blood draw after the 3 hpt I took (I still didn't think three were indicative of anything, lol), the office was VERY difficult. They were unresponsive, didn't call back, gave me the runaround and, basically, didn't make me feel like they gave a crap. When my OB called me the following day with the results, I felt really bad, but I let him know that I was switching practices because I thought the practice was a little too big for me. It was easier than telling him his office staff SUCKS and I didn't want to spend the next nine months begin aggravated. I have to say, switching was the best decision I ever made. :) Is the office always this nonresponsive? Also, isn't there an answering service that's taking calls for the doctor? I've never heard of a doctor not being available for emergencies. There's got to be some way of getting in touch with them, if not, I echo what everyone else said about the walk-in clinic. Better safe, than sorry. The bath also sounds like a good idea to soothe your nerves. Hmmmm.

So, my dh decided that he wants to tell his family tonight since we're all together for Rosh Hashanah, so that should be fun. Wish us luck!! I'm sure everyone is going to be thrilled. It's funny, after we got the s/g the other day, I left the pictures of "Bob the Blob", as my OB called it, over at my in-laws and I think they're making copies of the pics for their album :). They're going to be first-time grandparents!! I think they're more excited to tell everyone tonight than we are! Have y'all told your family/friends yet??? Originally, we were going to wait for another week and a half, but since everything is going so well (which we are SOOOO grateful for), we feel more comfortable telling people. Anyways, hope y'all are feeling good and thanks everyone for getting back to me about m/s. I'm trying a million different things so I'll post what works!! Have a great day!!k

Tonysweetie~I forgot to tell you too, like karen2324 said, it IS odd for a dr to not be available for emergencies. Altho my family doctor wont be the doctor taking care of me fully through my pregnancy, he told me day or night, weekday or weekend, I could give him a call.At the office or at home........Maybe you could find a doctor that is willing to help at all times?!?!
Thinking of you tho and wondering if you did go to a different doctor. I was reading up on what you had tho and it seemed as tho every site I read suggested that the doctor would give you some type of antibiotic...you have the antibiotic PLUS the cream right?
Either way....hope you got some news.....

Nothing too new with me...well, actually we DTD for the first time since we found out we were pregnant:p We had a m/c quite a few years ago so we were a little worried, but geez, how long can one wait?;) It was pretty fun:p LOL! And so far, no cramping or spotting:D Wooooooooooooooo!!!!!
Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend so far!
We invited a friend over for dinner tomorrow, his GF just found out she is due May 24th, so it should be fun to visit with someone who has a similar due date as me! The friend and I went to school together and we are 3 months apart, so it is pretty cool our children will get to go to school together too!
Anyways......See ya!

Sunshine you are too cute about DTD. DH and I are the same way we still haven't DTD since my BFP. Our wedding anniversary is this weekend so I think we will be following in your footsteps on that in the next few days. Just too cautious after the m/c I guess.

giry76~Normally I am not so "Not wanting" if that makes sense:p So its been a little hard.......:p I was a little inhibited tho, just being worried about what might happen......so I didnt have as much fun as I normally do:p But it was still all good;) LMAO! We were going to wait until the 2nd trimester started b/c I guess the cervix is less sensitive then....but yah.......:p
Our 1st anniversary was the Sunday after we found out:( So unfortunately we didnt "celebrate" the way we wanted to, but I really wasnt in the mood back then anyhow. Sad really........

Rangerwendy: Congratulations! Glad to have you here!

I haven't had any symptoms either. Not overly tired (not more than usual anyway, ha!) not nauseated, no food aversions, nothing. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, or unusual since I wasn't sick with DD, but...well, you almost wish to be just a little sick so that you feel more pregnant! (Knock on wood!) But I gave in and went to the Health Center here and had them do a pg test on me as well (cuz I just couldn't trust the THREE hpg tests that I took myself, LOL)! So they confirmed I was pregnant, tho the older nurse lady just came out and said, "Yeah, you're pregnant. Follow this hallway for the billing department." Wow, don't go out of your way to congratulate me or even smile at me! Ha, I'm not touchy or anything, right? So...guess I'm really pregnant! :P Anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend! Yippee! We're gonna be mommies in May!
