I have been in the middle of the longest cycle of my life...45 days...well I started prometrium (progestrone) 6 days ago ...was supposed to take it for 7 days then stop well Af arrived today....on the 6th day...should I take it again and continue to the 7th tablet or just stop since AF has arrived? I take it at night before I go to bed...so I cant call my doc until tomorrow morning. Thanks in advance!!

Not to ask too personal a question, but do you have a full period (red blood) or just spotting? If it's a full period, I'd stop taking it because it's done what it was supposed to do. If you are experiencing spotting, take it tonight and call your Dr. in the morning.
Good luck. I know it's frustrating.
edited to fix typo - referring to spotting twice. I see you'll take it tonight, it won't hurt anything. I've taken provera or prometrium lots of times, but I'm a pain in the neck and it's usually a week or so before I see any sign of AF.

I know this is kind of late, but when I had to induce AF with Progesterone (Provera) my Dr. had me take it for 5 days the first time and AF started shortly thereafter. she said it can take from 5-10 days and she wanted to start me at the lower end, so you may have just responded more quickly than your Dr. had expected.

I'm late too but my dr told me to take the Provera for 5 days and take it all even if AF came. For me AF never showed until after I was finished taking it the 2 times I had to use it so far.
