Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers.

As this day goes on, I'm getting so much more frustrated. I called the neuro this morning to see if the nuero optho called and suprisingly they did. However, the neuro that they spoke with said he couldn't get the puncture w/o an office visit first.

I again tell the nurse of how important it is and how he may be blind by next week and she says she'll talk to the dr in charge of the practice. She also tells me that the nurse up in the neuro's office told her that if it was that much of an emergency Brian could been seen at Wills Eye to do an emergency puncture. WTF :mad: :mad: :mad: Why couldn't they tell me that yesterday? Why must another dr's office call them to get the point across? Why can't they take my concerns as an emergency?

Anyway, the nurse from the nuero's office calls me back and tells me that the dr in charge doesn't think he should wait until next week (of course they are closed for the holiday) so the dr called the neuro optho and told him that they need to make some kind of arrangements for him soon.

So I should be hearing from the neuro optho's office some time today. But of course, being it is a holiday weekend nothing will be done until Monday. Now I just have to hope and pray that he doesn't go blind while he's waiting.

I can swear though, if something happens to him while we're waiting, someone's head will roll.

I am absolutely LIVID right now. I am so angry I could literally kill someone. I called the neuro optho's office at 4 to find out what the plan they have is, and they are gone for the holiday. I can't believe they did this to us.

I told Brian that after the puncture, if they don't find out what's going on, we're chaning doctors. I'm also going to contact the AMA, the head of their department and anyone else that I can.

I'm over it and they have f'd with the wrong person.

Lorraine- If you are unhappy you should just contact Will's Eye Hospital. DH has a growth on his eye a few years ago and they were wonderful. Maybe they haven't been in a big hurry to get Brian checked out if they don't think its a serious emergency?

I'm keeping you guys in my prayers.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Hope everyone had a good holiday. We enjoyed it as much as possible but there was that tension in the air.

Jen, the neuro optho we're seeing is from Wills Eye. When I called the office on Thur to find out why they hadn't called me, the on call dr was the same dr that is just as flaky as his dr. When we called last week when the forward vision was blurred, he was the same dr that said, "oh you can go to the ER or wait til the morning, it's up to you". When I told the office about it, they lied to me and said he was probably a resident on call. Um hello, he's the head of the neuro optho department at the hosp and the lead dr in your office, how could you not know who he is?

Brian doesn't want to go to the ER and be rushed through the puncture and them screw up.

So today our phone rings and it's our primary. She's calling us cause she hasn't heard anything from the neuro optho on his progress. I can't believe they haven't even called the referring dr to update her. Brian tells her all that's going on and she's going to make some calls and see if she can get him in either this weekend or first part of next week for the puncture. She also told him that he would be safe in the ER, they do them all the time to rule out certain things.

I know she'll get whatever she can done to help him but at least now if he needs it before he can be seen, he'll go to the ER. Hopefully she'll call soon with a date & time.

ETA:The primary dr just called and Brian has a puncture scheduled for Tue at 1:30. She said if anything gets worse before then to go to the ER, the hosp has his info so he'll be good to go.

Now we just have to hope nothing else gets worse before then.

Lorraine- Sorry you're having such problems. I'm surprised that Will's is giving you problems. Mick was seen there when I was pg with Andrew and they were absolutely wonderful with him. I hope you get some answers soon!

We had a nice quiet holiday at home. We're going to my grandma's tomorrow to celebrate with my uncle, aunt, cousins, etc. I'm really looking forward to it.

Andrew had his RSV vaccine this morning and he gained 4 lbs in 28 days:eek: He's now back to his pre surgery weight I just didn't think he would gain it back that quickly. I'll post some pics after I get them downloaded. How was everyone else's holiday?

Happy belated Turkey Day everyone!

Lorraine - I'm sorry you're getting such the run around! I hope you get some answers soon!

Our Thanksgiving was really low-key. DH cooked the turkey and stuffing and my parents brought the other side dishes up. After dinner, my parents took Claire home with them to give James some undivded mommy/daddy time. Claire LOVES staying with them so it's not a hardship for her. I'll go and get her in the morning.

While James is by far a better sleeper than Claire, we are having such a hard time getting him to sleep anywhere but in the Bjorn. I know he's only 7 weeks old, but we went through 18 months of sleep H#LL with Claire and I can not do that again. I'm certainly not letting him come anywhere close to CIO (even though DH wants to let him cry some :mad: ) but does anyone have any good sleep suggestions? Already I generally have to get by on about 4 broken hours and that's just not good for me, James, or Claire.

Jen - I'm so happy to hear Andrew is back up to his pre-surgery weight!!!

Judy, I am so sorry for your loss. I'm so sorry you're going through this pain, my heart aches with you. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. If you ever need to talk, please contact me.

Brian had his lumbar puncture today. We got to the hosp at 12:15 and we were able to sit with Brian in the lobby for a while. They took him back at 12:30. Nikolas and I stayed in the hosp as long as possible before we had to go due to his needing a nap meltdown. I guess all the emotions of the past few weeks caught up with me, I had a breakdown in the car. I sobbed all the way home.

Brian called me at 2:30 to tell me he was done, they didn't get him in until 2. He said it was the most painful thing he's ever experienced. He wanted to cry but there were residents in there and he wanted to be brave. The tech told him the range for normal fluid pressure is 0 to 20, Brian's was 25. The tech couldn't tell him if that was indicitive of a pseudotumor.

I called my dr's office to talk to the dr covering for my doctor. She wasn't in the office so they are going to contact her and ask her to call me. When I was talking to the nurse, she couldn't give me the results, but it seems that some of the tests from the fluid are already back.

I asked if she received a faxed copy of his records from the neuro optho's office and she said no. Again, they f'd up. I was so upset that when I hung up with her, I called there and spoke to the office mgr up there. I told her everything that has happened to us, day by day with them. From them lying to me twice to being nonchalant about his care. All should could do was apologize. She tried to cover up a few times, but she couldn't cause I called her on it. Like when we called in 2 weeks ago and his vision got worse. We were told by a nurse there that it must have been the dr on call and it was actually the head of their practice. She said, there must have been a miscommunication. I informed her that when we call in, the dr that takes the call gives the info to the office and they call us back. We didn't call them, they called us, so they knew he was the one who called us and she knew who he was so we were lied to. Again all she could do was apologize.

Brian has to now see a neurologist either way, but we decided if he has to see a neuro optho we're going to someone else.

And get this, Jefferson neuro who was supposed to do the puncture this Fri, called to tell us they had to push it off until next Fri. It seems the dr who was going to do it was going to be out. Um hello, you only have one dr doing them? I'm so glad we didn't wait on them.

Anyway, so now I'm waiting to hear back from the dr covering for our primary in regards to the test. I've searched all over the internet but can't find if his pressure is considered a pseudotumor or not. They told him that if it was the pressure causing the problems, then releasing it would help. However, he now has a spinal headache so he can't tell in that aspect and the vision wouldn't clear up for 24-48 hours after so we wait,again.

I'll update as soon as I know more.

Lorraine I hope you get some answers soon. I can tell you are very frustrated. Saying a prayer for your family as well.

How is everyone else doing?? Busy busy I guess.

We are still under construction, but it's coming together so nice, can't wait to show final pics when it's done. Probably won't be completely done until January sometime.

DS got to be an extra in a movie Uma Thurman is filming in NY. The movie is called "The Accidental Husband", and it was a scene in a check cashing store, he was exiting the store with his pretend "mom & sister" as she and the guy who played Denny on Grey's Anatomy enter the store.

All day to film one little scene from lots of angles. At one point between takes I say to DS, "that's the lady from Kill Bill", he's like, "where?". All day he was oblivious to her, then after that he asks her, "are you Kill Bill?" and she nicely replied, "I used to be". I thought that was so cute. She is very tall.

That's been the most excitement since we got back from vacation. Now I'm trying to figure out how to do Xmas with all the construction. This will be a year to remember.

Wanted to update in here...

We head from the dr and the fluid from the lumbar puncture did not show anything, thankfully, it could have been very serious. I also want to cautiously report that the meds to lower the fluid may be helping the vision. Brian said the blind spot he's had facing forward seems to be getting smaller. Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed that we didn't get it too late and everything can go back to normal for him.

He's still in A LOT of pain from the puncture. He can only be upright for about a minute or so and laying down still hurts. He has found some relief in hanging his head over the side of the couch, but then the blood rushes to his head, but he said that's tolerable. He's resting right now.

We called the radiology nurse and asked about the blood patch and she said to just take fluids and rest. I told him if it isn't better later this evening, I'm calling 911 to take him to the ER. I'm hoping it gets better for him though.

So we're keeping our fingers crossed that he's started his recovery and this pain goes away quickly. I'll update as soon as we know more.

OMG, so right after I posted the last message the neuro optho's office called and the nurse said the dr wanted to speak to Brian. I about died that the dr actually wanted to talk to him.

He confirmed that it is a pseudotumor. We finally have an answer. I can't tell you how happy I am to finally know something. He wants him to stay laying down until he feels better, take his meds and to have me take care of him, like I wasn't doing that before.

So now we can treat him for that and like I posted, hopefully the damage can be reversed.

Of all the websites I've visited, this one has the best and most understandable terminology: PseudoTumors (http://www.nanosweb.org/patient_info/brochures/PseudotumorCerebri.asp)

Let the healing begin...

Hello all

As you can see from the title, we think we got a wrong diagnosis from the neuro optho in Philly. We went to see a neurologist today and he said that the chances that this is a pseduotumor are slim, not impossible, but slim. Pseudotumors present in both eyes (not just one) and in only approx 500 -1000 men. So if he does have it, he'd be a rarity.

What this means is Brian has to go for more tests. It also means that we are no longer seeing that neuro optho in Philly. The dr we saw today wasn't too crazy that we were seeing him anyway. We were referred to one of two different dr's in Philly, who ever can see him first. If after the next two tests and visiting the new dr they can't find out what's going on, we may have to head down to University of Md to see a specialist there.

In the mean time Brian will keep taking the meds to reduce the pressure of the spinal fluid, which the neuro today said is high, but not high enough for a pseudotumor. And he can't believe that the nuero optho was willing to let Brian be in pain for over a week from the puncture. So Brian has an appt tomorrow afternoon for a blood patch, which he should have headache relief from w/in hours.

So we're not back to square 1, but we're at square 3 or 4. I can't believe this is happening again. The good thing though is that the neuro we saw today is awesome. He was in the room with us for over 45 minutes and genuinely cared. We feel like we're in good hands with him. And the fact that he was willing to admit that this may be over his ability was awesome too.

So we wait, again.

Urg - Lorraine I'm sorry that the saga continues. I hope that ya'll are finally heading down the right road to recovery.

Question for the girlie-moms - Nora's hair is starting to bug me. Have any of you found great styles that work on baby-fine hair and keeps it out of their eyes? I still want to be able to pull it back into ponies, so maybe a longer bob with bangs?

I can believe my baby is 2 and now a big boy. He talks so much telling me just what he wants, how he wants and and when he wants it. We are thinking of starting him in preschool in Febuary. I go back and forth because I don't have other kids, I don't work but yet I fell like I need a break and he seems sooooooooo ready. The school is only 2 mornings a week and DH says that I will be thankful when I am PG to have the time to rest. So I will keep you guys posted.

Lorraine - I hope things start clearing up for Brian soon! Your new doc sounds very proactive.

Atty - sorry no hair help here. Claire is a curly-girlie so I just let her hair do its own thing. It looks the same whether I brush it or not :rolleyes: .

My craft show was a bust :( . I had people come and admire but no one bought. Most of the other vendors didn't have a very good day either. Oh well - live and learn. I'll try again after the holidays.

purplevega - sending Claire to preschool was probably one of the best things we did. She goes 2 mornings a week for 2.5 hours each time. She absolutely LOVES it! She is the youngest and tiniest in her class, but she really takes everything in stride. As far as commission quilts, I have done a few.

My house is infested with germs! I can't wait for spring to open the windows. Claire has an ear infection (the downside of preschool) James has a cold, and I have toncilitis. Not fun.

Hello all

Brian went back to work today but I don't think he'll be staying the whole day. Not cause of him, but me. I woke up this morning in severe pain in my neck on the right side. It's a muscle spasm. Every move I make hurts and I can't even hold the baby for longer than a minute. I either slept wrong, or it's stress related, or possibly both :/

I went to the dr yesterday for my left side and that was an adventure. What is it with us and nonchalant dr's. My dr wasn't in so I saw someone else. I tell him about my 3 problems, my left hand/arm, my left foot and my stomach. He says, "we're just going to address your arm & foot today, I only have 20 minutes with you and those are the most important". WTF :mad: I don't give 2 rats a&&es how much time you "have" with me, you're addressing all my problems. I looked at him and said, "I have 3 problems, I guess you're going to be late for your next appointment". He kinda rolled his eyes. I don't care if the pope is next, if I have 3 problems you're addressing all 3.

He knew I was pissed so he discussed all 3. My foot, I'm just sleeping wrong and it's cramping, my stomach he's leaving up to stress but my left arm is a different story. He thinks I may have nerve damage so I have to go for an EMG. I guess it's my turn to be sick. Only problem is Brian can't take any more time off of work, so I'm on my own. It sucks not living by family.

ohmygosh.... Congrats purplevega! :D:D

We're still wishy-washy on the idea of baby #2 over at our house. I'm getting less wishy-washy, DH seems to be getting more. I'm planning on waiting until June for TTC at the earliest.

Lucas is so funny these days. (Also aggravating, but I'm trying not to dwell on that. :p) He loves to change his doggy's diaper and wipe it's bottom and take it to the potty. Apparently this morning (DH supervising), doggy climbed the steps to the potty, then went "Psssst", and then got a "good job" from DS. Anyone think we've been expending too much effort on potty training recently? DH wanted to know why Doggy still needed a wipe if he used the potty. :D

Merry Christmas everybody!

Hello all :D

OMG, Another baby :D How exciting. And isn't it cool that they'll be born around the same time? CONGRATS, CONGRATS, CONGRATS.

Another kid: We swore we'd only have 2 and right after Troi was born I wanted another. Brian said it would go away in a few weeks/months, but it's stronger than ever now, I want one more.

Hope eveyone is doing well. We're doing good here. Brian still has a blind spot looking forward so that may be permanent, but all other symptoms have gone. We do need to get him on new meds though, these make him REALLY TIRED and he's always out of it.

I had my EMG on Sat and it hurt like he!!. It was pretty much electric shocks in my arms. I have the start of carpel tunnel in my right wrist. I have it in my left and there is nerve damage on the left side so now it's my turn to go for an MRI.

Things are going good here otherwise. Nikolas is growing too quickly for us. We have his clock hanging low in the living room to start using it for naps, lunch, etc. Well the other day I told him it was past his nap time and I said Nikolas it's time for nap and he goes over to the clock, points to the 12 and says, "not til the big hand gets on the 12". OMG, I about died. All I could do was laugh. He and Brian now converse in German. I sit there and just wonder what he's teaching him.

We have had what I think may be a small set back with Troi in the house. For the past few weeks all Nikolas says is, "I want to be the baby now" and he'll start acting like a baby. He'll crawl and refuse to walk, he's taken Troi's bottle away from him a few times, he uses a paci to sleep but now wants it all the time (which we won't give in), if I'm laying on the bed with Troi he tries to move Troi out of the way, or he'll lay on the boppy before I can put Troi down to nurse him. It's not like he doesn't get attention, and he really doesn't want to be bothered when Troi's asleep or doing his own thing. The worst is when we're out and I put Troi in the stroller, he all of a sudden wants to ride again and if he can't, he wants to be carried.

So we take one day at a time and give him as much attention as possible. We're also make sure to take him out alone. He and Brian went to see Happy Feet a while back. I'm hoping it's just a phase and once Troi can play more with him he grows out of it.

Anyway, I wanted drop off the pix we're using for our Christmas cards.

Here are the two pix I'm using on our Christmas cards.

Lorriane Nora has also decided that the stroller is the way to go now that Tess rides in it without the infant carrier. It is highly aggravating. CONGRATS KIM!!!!!! I'm so happy for you! And on the first try! You go girl! I hope you have a H&H 9 months!

Lorraine- Pics are cute! Its amazing how much Niko looks like Brian and Troi looks like you!

I haven't been around much due to being sick and Andrew's ongoing Doctors appointments. He's got a little bit of fluid back on his right lung. He's back on the diuretics and the low fat diet for the time being. We also noticed something sticking up under his incision. It seems that its a piece of metal wire that the surgeon used to put his breastbone back together after surgery. We have an appointment on Friday in Phila for the surgeon to look at it. It may need to be removed and that requires another surgery in order to remove it:( I dont even want to think about it.

Besides being sick with a sinus infection I'm feeling pretty good. I'm 27 weeks already and she appears to be perfectly healthy. They are keeping a pretty close eye on me and I feel very fortunate to have such wonderful care. They took a peek at her heart at my last Peri appt and all appears good. Thank God! March will be here before I know it.

Here are some pics of Andrew. They are from his professional pics at Sears. They're a little dark since they're off the website.

Hello again

atty A friend of mine is giving me her double stroller, I can't wait to get it.

Jen I've been meaning to email you. I'm so sorry for Andrew's problems. He has proven though that he's a fighter so he'll be ok. Hopefully they won't have to do anything about it. After I had my gallbladder out, one of the stitches was sticking out and it eventually went away.

Ok, so my house is finally as clean as it's going to get so I did a small video of Troi crawling. Yes he's crawling and has been for about a week now. I really don't remember what age they start at, but the moms in his group here seem to think it's early :confused: Anyway, had the floors not been clean, you would not be seeing this video :D

golden, Ugh! I'm so sorry that Andrew is facing another visit to the hospital. I hope it will be very brief to get the staple out. :( He is such a fighter!

lorraine, Your boys are so cute! I do love that second picture. Too adorable.

Kim - Congrats!!! Have a happy, healthy 9 months!!!

Jen - I'm so sorry Andrew is facing yet another surgery! Congrats on your little girl looking good and to being in the 3rd tri!

Claire is also regressing a bit. She wants me to carry her 'like a baby' and she's been asking to nurse.

James had his 2 month WBV on Monday. He's up to 12 lbs 4 ozs and 23.5 inches long. He's just in the 50% for weight, but he looks huge to me since Claire has NEVER been above the 25% in weight.

We finally broke down and hired a cleaning service to come once a month. Between 2 kids and the barest minimum of sleep, our house was falling into shambles. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up the general maintenance during the month.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. Ashton got way to much stuff. MIL got him a bounce house as well as tons of wooden Thomas stuff. My parents got him Elmo TMX(I find this toy to be very annoying), tinker toys, and a ton of other small things.

I am starting to get MS but only if I don't eat right away. I almost don't feel PG. When I was PG with Ashton I had terrible MS that landed me in the hospital several times. Maybe it is a girl........

Other than Christmas and the baby we are same old same old. DH had the last 10 days off from work and I am so ready for him to go back. My house is a wreck having 2 "children" to pick up after.

Oh forgot to add that we sign Ashton up from preschool 2 morning a week starting in June. He just loves the place and calls it "his school". It is a new school and the director is a clean freak...as am I. I told her i don't want to send Ashton to preschool to get sick. She is very strict on the sick policy and steam cleans the carpets and Toys each day.

Happy New Years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been so tied up, never got wish y'all Merry Christmas. I was home on vacation last week and couldn't find a moment to log on.

Congrats Purple

Stef & Lorraine your cards are great. I was too lazy to do cards at all.

Jen I can't believe Andrew will need another surgery. Hope all goes well.

~~~
Is anyone else potty training? Pie Pie will do #2 in the toilet, but won't tell us when she has to pee. I'm thinking of taking her out of the pull ups and putting on undies, but just hate the thought of pissy clothes. Gotta start somewhere. My son was so easy, before 2 he was fully trained.
She is so smart, clears her plate from the table, puts the scrapes in the garbage and puts it in the dishwasher.
So my digi cam is missing (reason for no recent pics or vacation pics) and to tell the truth it was on it's last legs anyway. I don't know if one of the contractors took it or one of my kids moved it. The charger base is still plugged up. Don't want to start making accusations, because the job is almost done and I want it done right. Just not sure what to do.
Anywho, hope we all have a happy and healthy 2007!
Hi moms.
We had such a fun Christmas this year since Nora finally started to 'get it'.
Because of our blizzards, we weren't able to get out to see Santa at the mall. But my dad has a Santa suit and he brought it. I brought the girls down after baths on Christmas Eve and there was Santa sitting in our living room. Nora was both elated and scared! She still talks about it.
I was about to come in and post that Nora is day potty-trained, but then we had 2 accidents on Sunday. I really have to thank her school - they really were the impetus. She's been wearing big girls all day since September during the week and for the last 2 months we've been keeping her in big girls on the weekends too.
Now night-training is going to be a whole 'nother story, though, I think.
I was just thinking that our old thread started about this time WAY back in 2004! You girls rock.
Hello all :D
Happy Belated New Year
Just wanted to stop in really quickly before I go to bed.
I've been trying to get Nikolas to use the potty more but it's just not working. The few times he has used it is because we put him on in time, not cause he's asking, and it's only been pee. He gets a mini m&m when he does use it. I purchased both Diego and Thomas big boy underwear and they literally sit next to the changing table and he knows he can't wear them until he goes poopie on the potty but he just won't go.
What kills me is now he's saying "Troi went poopie" but it's him going. And he says it after he goes. If he would say it before hand I'd put him on there.
Brian was using the bathroom tonight and he said, "Troi make a poopie" so I got Nikolas' potty, put it in there with him and gave him a book to read so he could be just like daddy. He didn't go :/
I'm just not sure what to do :confused: I do know I'm tired of double diapers especially now that Troi is eating baby food and he no longer has baby poopie's :rolleyes:
Anyway, wanted to drop off a quick video. Nikolas learned the English from me, the German from Brian and the Spanish from Dora & Diego :rolleyes:
Well I'm outta here. Any help with the potty training would be greatly appreciated.
TIA.
Lorraine- Thats awesome! Niko is so freaken cute. I love the eleventeen:p I don't have any advice for you, sorry. Andrew has had absolutely no interest in potty training and after everything he's been through over the last 4 months I don't blame him. Diapering two must be hard. I'll be in that predictament shortly. I wish you a lot of luck. I know some of the other sept mommas kids are having luck so I hope someone can help you. How is Brian feeling?
I was just thinking that our old thread started about this time WAY back in 2004! You girls rock.
Right back at ya sista! Wow thats amazing to think about! 3 years ago we all came together. And we're still going. It says a lot about how wonderful you girls are! Thank you for that.
Purple- I hope you're feeling well. And here's hoping the m/s stays away! I really need to start looking into preschool. We talked it over with Andrew's cardiologist and he said its fine for him to go next year. I want him to go to preschool at our church since it has such a great program but I really need to start looking into that.
Hello to everyone else!!
Andrew has his surgery to remove the wire that popped in his chest on Wed morning and did great! The surgery was only only about 45 mins and we were home from Philly by 1:30. He's having some pain issues but seems alot better this morning. I'm so glad thats outta the way. In other news Andrew is now in his big boy bed full time and he's loving it! I was so worried over nothing.
I'm feeling pretty good. I'm almost 31 weeks I have a peri appt this morning for a growth u/s. Hopefully all goes well with that. This little girl is very active! Its so hard to believe that she'll be here in about 8 weeks! I'm going to be induced somewhere around 38-39 weeks so its coming very fast. We hardly have gotten anything for her since we've been so wrapped up with Andrew's medical concerns and spending 2 months in the hospital. We really need to get on the ball here.
How is everyone else?
Lorraine- Andrew is doing well. Thank you for asking! He had the surgery last week to remove the wire and it back to normal now! I'm doing ok. Last week was supposed to be my last Peri appt but they found my amniotic fluid level is low so now i have to go back on fri for a recheck. Just when i thought i was in the home stretch and didnt have to worry anymore:rolleyes: And they also want me to go for non stress tests starting next week 2X a week. I'm so ready for this to be over. I cant wait to see her and know she's ok, kwim?
Anyway, its close enough now. Her name is Ashlyn Michelle:)
SiValleySteph
01-09-2007, 09:35 AM
I've got to set my TIVO! This is so exciting. :D
golden, I'm so relived that Andrew's surgery went well and all is back to normal. Ashlyn is such a pretty name. Unique without being unusual, I like that. I remember I went to Jr. High with an Ashlyn, but I think that's the only one I've ever known. You're really close now!
~*~*~*~
Hmmm... what's going on over here? I nightweaned Lucas. I think I'm the only extended nurser here, so it probably seems weird. It went fine, without much struggle at all. He still nurses once before bed and once in the morning.
He is really growing up. He talks almost like a regular person now, which is so surprising every time. He did say "I want to hold you" last night and that was just cracking me up... I think he meant he wanted me to hold him. :D Guess we don't quite have pronouns down!
Jen you are too funny! The kids were so excited to see themselves on TV. Pie cried when it went off. TV definitely adds 10 lbs, I looked like I was 3 mths preg, ugh!
Love Ashlyn Michelle, very nice. So happy Andrew is doing well.
Lorraine thanks for posting the air dates. DH thinks he's a celebrity now :cool: :rolleyes:.
Stef it is definitely amazing how they have grown, Pie's vocabulary has exploded. She is very vocal, if she doesn't like what I make for dinner she'll say "I no like dat" and pout. I don't know where she thinks she eats, but my kitchen is not a diner.
I LOVE Ashlyn. Don't worry about the fluid, she'll be fine. And from my understanding, it's not an exact science.
I didn't know Lucas was still nursing. You are amazing. I'm just trying to make it to a year w/o a breakdown so 1+ would be a huge feat for me.
So I took the boys out today in our new Joovy Sit and Stand stroller.
goldengbridge- Glad to hear all is well. Hopefully the fluid thing will resolve.
Islandbride1025- Oh I want to see the show.
SiValleySteph- You are not the only one. Ashton is still nursing. I night weaned right before I got PG in December. Let me tell you this child still asks to nurse every night at 3 am. 6 weeks he has been nighted wean. Hopefully he will move passed it for my sake. I need sleep..........
Not much here. still preggo. I already have a belly. What is with that? I did not show until 16 weeks with Ashton and her I am at 8 weeks with a belly.
So ladies should I find out the sex. DH says yes I say no. I need some insentive to push. What do you think?
Hello All :D
Kim You always show sooner with each consecutive pg. Not sure why though :confused: My opinion: YES YES YES, FIND OUT THE SEX but that's just my opinion :D
Nikolas loves the new stroller so much that today I took them out to Best Buy and he pretty much had a breakdown that I put them in the cart and not the new stroller. By the time I got him out of the seat he was hysterical (tears and all) gasping from crying so hard. All he kept saying is, "use the new stroller". We were literally in and out of Best Buy w/in 10 minutes and there was a cart right in front of my car. I know better next time :rolleyes:
So I got a part time work at home job with LiveOps. I started the process back in December and didn't know if I'd ever hear from them. I did the new hire orientation on Monday and am just waiting for the second phone line to be turned on on Monday. I'm extremely excited to get started just to have some extra $$ coming in. And the clutch on my car went today so we definately need the $$, it's going to be $1,200 :eek:
Anyway, gonna run, I think Troi is waking up. Have a great day.
ARGGGGG!!!!
My car is in the shop yet again (2004 Jeep Cherokee Laredo) - for the 4th time since August. We've poured about 8 months worth of car payments into repairing it already and the repairs now are going to run an additional $1600.
I think we're just going to trade it in.
But for what?
What are you guys driving and how do you like it?
NO MORE JEEPS!
I loved my old Honda - so I'm interested in Pilots and the Odyssey.
Anyone, anyone? I need your advice/insight/thoughts/guidance/love/affection.
goldengbridge
01-10-2007, 04:09 PM
Kelly- I'm sorry I can't help. I have a jeep GC laredo too and I LOVE the thing. It has been so good to me. My uncle has a Pilot and absolutely loves it.
Lorraine- I saw that stroller and it looks interesting but I really don't think Andrew would stay on that thing . He is still content being strapped into his
P3 so I'm going to keep him in a stroller as long as possible. Hes fast and has lots of energy. I can't imagine trying to chase him around the mall.
Kim- I showed a lot faster with #2 and #3 as well. I'm all for finding out but thats just me. I'm glad I did or this little girl would have lots of blue clothes for awhile:)
Steph- Thats neat you knew an Ashlyn. I've never met any. Although people have told me they know girls with that name. I think it came in #74 on the top 100 names for girl in 2006. I like it too because its different but not too weird.
I'll let you girls know how I make out on Friday. Pray for lots of fluid:)
Hi girls! Long time no CC, hope you are all well!
Island- I can't wait to see the show, thanks Lorraine for posting the upcoming times, I'll have to catch it.
Jen- so glad Andrew did well with surgery.
Will is such a handful right now. This week he locked & closed our bathroom door, DH had to take the door jam off to get it open. Yesterday he took a poopy easy up during nap & through it over the side of his crib. He will be the death of me:) He pees once or twice a day on the potty but is no where near ready to be trained full time, he could care less if he is wet.
Atty- We looked at the Pilot & the Odyssey. I loved both. We ended up with the Sienna but htta was only because we negotiated a better deal with Toyota.
Hello All :D
Hope all is well with everyone. Nikolas has a horrible cold :( Troi hasn't gotten it yet and I'm hoping to keep it that way.
So Brian is in Pittsburgh today seeing the doctor at the V.A. to get approved for his lap band surgery. I'm on pins and needles waiting to know if he's going to be approved. Hopefully we'll know something later this afternoon.
Other than that, I'm sitting here waiting for Verizon to come connect the new phone line so I can start working. They were supposed to be here yesterday between 8 and 5 but never got around to me :mad: Yep, you read that correct, they never got around to me so they just bailed on the appt :mad: So being they did that, the connect fee will be waived.
Well gotta run, Troi just woke up. Hopefully I'll be coming back later this afternoon with good news about Brian. Keep your fingers crossed please.
Steph & purplevega - good for you to still be nursing! I weaned Claire at 18 months, but I think she would have nursed into college if I let her.
purplevega - my vote is No to finding out the sex. Only b/c that's what I did with both of mine.
golden - love the name you picked for your little girl! I'm so glad to hear so much good news about Andrew! Your docs sound like they are being very proactive about monitoring you. I hope the next few weeks are uneventful.
Island - I'll have to catch you on TV!
Lorraine - yeah for the job! I hope it's good news for Brian!
joann - did Will call Claire? We have had poopy dipes spread down the hallway :rolleyes: .
Atty - I have a Subaru Outback that I love. Sorry to hear about the car expense!
potty training - Claire really doesn't seem interested. I'm getting a little nervous b/c she *HAS* to be PT'd in order to go back to school next year.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Hey ladies! :D
potty training - we were doing really well and I was all set to try underwear this weekend. Well, Saturday, he would NOT sit on the potty, but wanted to wear underwear. Needless to say, he peed in them within 10 minutes so back to the easy-ups. All weekend long he was refusing to sit on the potty. I got two potty sits on Saturday and that was it for the 3 day weekend. Hmmm. Not sure what to do now. He is a pro, though, and can pee on the potty every time and poo when needed.
Movies - I've been dying to take Lucas to a movie for some reason and yesterday afternoon we were home for MLK, so I thought it would be a perfect time! We went to see Charlotte's Web and it was a total disaster. It was WAY too loud for him, esepcially the previews. He spent the whole time we were there curled up with his head in my chest saying "I don't like movie." So we left after about 10 min of the movie, I thought the movie might be better because it wasn't so scary as the previews. Anyways, anyone else try a movie yet? Of course, DH told me over & over that he was too little for a movie. Guess he was right. :p
Car - I'm still driving my Nissan Sentra. Plenty of room for us. I may move to a bigger car IF a #2 comes along. Maybe a hatchback or like that Scion boxy one. We shall see.
travel - It's looking like we might be going to China in a few weeks. I just got Lucas sleeping soooo much better and I'm terrified this will ruin everything. His Great-Grandpa is very sick, though, so I'd much rather go and deal with the sleep than not go. We'll see how it pans out. Can I just say that I'm said I have to buy him his own $800 plane ticket now? So much nicer when he could sit on our laps...
#2 - We're thinking of trying for a #2 now. I can't decide if this is a brilliant idea or totally nuts. :D
Hello again :)
Well Brian is on his way home and from what he was told, if he made it that far, then he's been accepted for the surgery. He also got the impression that it can take up to 6 months before he has it. After we talked he saw the nurse who had more definitive answers but he didn't want to go into it while at the airport so we won't talk until later tonight.
Movies: Brian actually took Nikolas to see Happy Feet. He said that he was fine for the first 30 minutes because there was a lot of singing and dancing but after that he lost interest so they left.
Car: Brian's dad gave us his moms car after she passed away, a 99 Saab 9-5. She got it brand new the first year that model came out and paid over $50k for it, it's fully loaded. Brian told her she should wait a year for Saab to get the kinks out but she didn't. Now we appreciate the car, but OMG that thing is a money pit. Every time it needs repairs, it's ALWAYS over $500. An oil change for it is over $40. The clutch went last week and it was $1,200. Since we've had it the airbag light has been illumiated. There is a short in the wiring, which of course is under the front bumper and would be $800 to fix it. Needless to say, the light is still there plain as day.
As soon as we can afford it (which should be sometime before I'm 75) we're getting me an Odyssey and him some sort of hybrid.
Gonna run, Verizon finally showed and I need to motivate on my learning. Stay well all.
Hhm... what's going on over here? I nightweaned Lucas. I think I'm the only extended nurser here, so it probably seems weird. It went fine, without much struggle at all. He still nurses once before bed and once in the morning.
I just wanted to give you props for still nursing. I think that Nora and I still would be going if she hadn't self-weaned when I was pg with Tess. Anyway - good job, and I don't think you're a boob-freak. :D
Oh yeah - I shoud update on my car sitch.
We ended up trading in my Cherokee and getting an Odyssey. I am not a big car person - I really don't care as long as it can get me to and from work/daycare and be reliable.
But I have to say that I LOVE MY ODYSSEY. She drives like a car, has zip and I'm just so happy with it.
Of course - now Jason thinks that since we have the room, we might as well try again for a boy. *grumble*
Lorraine I'm glad that Brian got the ok for surgery - I'll be thinking of you guys!
Niko&Troi
01-17-2007, 05:38 PM
I don't mind saying that I'm so freggin jealous of atty, you have the car that I've been wanting for a LONG time :( Maybe one of these days...
So Kelly, you said the camera adds 10 pounds, not for you. You looked amazing. It was kinda weird to watch though cause I knew you weren't looking to move so I viewed it as a home video. I would love to do something like that, I go to open houses just because :)
Brian had a day yesterday. He got to Pittsburgh as way crazy, missed his first flight and got lost. Ended up walking into the V.A. right at 1:30, his appt time. He saw the dr, nurse and nutritionist. It will be anywhere from 3 to 6 months before he has it. Thing is, he's getting lap band done and will need to go back to Pittsburgh every 4 days to have it adjusted. We're not sure how we'd work that. So now I'm in the process of trying to get an appeal together to our ins co to allow him to do it here. Either way though, we know he's going to get it done, this year :D
I have been soooo busy with work, it's ridiculous, but Sunday was the last airdate. Not sure if they will post other airdates on the site.
Everytime I watch it I see something different. No, Stef, we didn't move, they just make you think we did. We decided to add onto our existing home. And we are still under construction.
After taping that show I realized that most of these shows are fake. I felt like I saw the Wizard behind the curtain. Unless they are coming into your home and making changes, it's not worth it.
A show like househunters, the person has already bought the house, but they just go through the motions of "looking" and "signing the contract".
The show we did, Hidden Potential, we did it purely just to do it. We got nothing from it. There were times we were looking at the laptop and there was nothing on it. Lots of ad libbing. We could have bought the houses if we wanted to, they were all up For Sale.
It was a pain when we did it, 2 days in July. But it's funny now, because I can't believe how many people saw it. We were in the grocery store and someone asked Alan was that him on TV. A lady stopped me in the lobby of my office building to tell me she saw it. So, for now we are pseudo-celebs :D.
Lorraine glad Hubby got OK'd for surgery.
Ciao for now!
Hi Everyone!
Thanks for bumping us up Jen!
Things have been extremely hectic here. I'm almost to the end of this pg and I'm going for non stress tests 2X a week in addition to my regular OB appts. My fluid was low again today. I'm happy they are keeping such a close eye on me but at the same time it is extremely stressful and I'm always worrying about her and whats going on in there. Its also so tiring to be chasing after Andrew and be at the hospital for testing so much. I'm just ready for this to be over and for this little girl to get here. I've got about 5 weeks left.
DH painted her room last weekend and I think it came out pretty. We've still got to get stuff for her walls but at least the hardwork is over. My mom bought us the double stroller, a aria twin, so things are coming together. I'm having a small "sprinkle" next Saturday and I'm looking forward to seeing people I haven't seen in awhile. It should be fun.
Andrew is doing great. Hes sleeping in his big boy bed like a champ. He goes on the potty sporatically but hes definately not ready for any serious potty training. I can't blame him though- he's still on some powerful diuretics. His language has really developed over the past few months and I can't get him to stop talking sometimes:rolleyes: And he loves to talk on the phone to grandma and daddy while hes a work. He's obsessed with the alphabet song and sings it about 100 times a day. Its pretty cute. He seems excited for his baby sister's arrival and tells me that Ashlyn's room needs a baby. Soon enough. He's going to be a great big brother! Preschool open house is this weekend and registration next week. I can't beleive we're checking out preschools! It feels like he was just born! I'm having some hesitation with preschool because they dont have a nurse on the premises and that makes me nervous. The teacher assured me on the phone that they all know CPR but it still makes me nervous. There is a hospital nearby so that makes me feel a little better but I'm sure you can understand.
Thats about it for us. Just trying to get last minute things ready before Ashlyn's arrival. I hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to post some new pics in the next few days! Have a great weekend!
I keep meaning to come on here.
Life is good. I have my 1st U/s on Monday for dating. I have 45 day cycles so my midwife says my EDD is 8/11 and I say 8/25. I have to prove it is 8/25 because my midwife can not attend my homebirths if I am over 42 weeks and 8/25 would put me over. I am a little bummed as I only wanted 1 u/s and now it looks like 2 will happen.
I have decieded not to find out the gender. I am really at peace and feel like it is the right thing for us.
DH is in Portland, OR for a funeral and I miss him so much. He will be home Monday night and I can't wait. This is the 1st time he has ever been away from me. It is always me going way and leaving him.
Ashton is doing well and has taken an interest in babies. He talks about how he wants to tickle there feet. It really is so cute. I am still having a hard time with him being rough with other kids. Taking toys and sometimes hitting when he is upset with something they do. Anyone with this problem? Everyone says it's normal 2 behavior but I wish he would move on.
Hope all is well with all of you.
Let's see... LT is so fun these days. He definitely gets crazier with Daddy than with Mommy, though. I think he realizes my crazy tolerance is much lower.
He's having a love affair with Dora & Diego. I'm not sure how this happened. We read a book and it all snowballed from there. I let him watch maybe 1 or 2 episodes a week, but then we have the books from the library, he picked out Diego valentines, I must draw Dora, Diego and the sneaky fox on the easel, etc... It's very funny. He's even played "Diego" where he has to rescue his stuffed animals and his tiger played the role of Baby Jaguar.
He also really likes to change diapers and clothes on his stuffed animals and push them in the doll stroller.
He's quite a good sleeper now. He likes to sleep with Mommy & Daddy, which is fine with us. He usually sleeps in his bed at the beginning of the night and then comes over to us around 11-12. He must have his heart pillow in our bed and gets upset if Daddy uses it. "It's not yours, my heart pillow!" He has a snowman pillow in his bed. :D
He's very sweet and blows lots of kisses and gives hugs. He did push another kid out of the way at daycare the other day right in front of the other mom. How embarassing! (They were both getting their shoes.) He apologized, though, which was cute.
Hello all :D
How is everyone doing? We've been very busy but I've been reading along. Then for a while I stopped getting notifications of posts :(
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and drop off these 2 videos. Things are coming along good with the boys. Nikolas is great 98% of the time, he'll love him to death one minute and then push him the next :/
Anyway, need to get some rest. Take care and stay well all.
Hi Ladies! Hope everyone is doing well since we've been so quiet!
Jen - do you have an induction date yet?
Kim - how are you feeling?
Things here are busy! DH is going to be away on business for 3 weeks. I have no idea how I'm going to handle 2 kids by myself for that long. Especially since James is up 3-4 times a night.
I took him for his 4 month WBV last week. He weighed 15 lbs 3 ozs and was 25.5" long. He looks HUGE next to Claire considering that at 9 months, she only weighed 16 lbs. We started giving him cereal over the weekend. The faces he makes are priceless!
That's about it from our end!
Ok I am a bad September mom. So things are fine here just busy. I signed Ashton up for a preschool readiness art program. Basically I am in the classroom but the kids interact witht the teachers. That way if he wants me I am there and if not he plays with the other kids and teachers.
I am feeling PG. Week 13 here and I feel like I popped. Ashton talks about his baby all the time and we got a children's book about homebirth. I highly recommed it even if you are not having a homebirth. It is called "Welcome with Love". it talks about a big brother and his feelings on his mommy having a baby. It also goes though the birth process and ends with the whole family sleeping by the fire with the new baby. Very sweet book.
So I don't know if these pics will turn out but here is my US at 10.5 weeks.
I can't believe I haven't posted in so long. I have been so swamped at work.
First off, CONGRATS JEN & WELCOME ASHLYN
Thanks for the birthday wish.
Hello to everyone else, Lorraine your boys are adorable.
Am I the only one who doesn't have a video camera??? I feel like these moments are slipping away and we are not capturing them.
We are at the end of our construction project. 5 months now. We are waiting on the bath vanity from Aristokraft and the vanity top. Once that is installed, we can order carpet and can move into our new master bedroom. And Pie Pie can move into her new big girl room.
Bought a new camera, so will upload some pics. Here are a couple of old ones from our Mexican Vacation in Nov 06
Hello all :D
I just wanted to come in and tell all of you about my very emotional week I've had. Nikolas has been asking for a while to go to school. A mom in his play group found a local church and I decided to go by on Wed to see what they had to offer. They said I could bring him by on Thur for a quick trial run to see how it worked out.
Well Wed night I started to get his little backpack ready with his change of clothes (just in case) and some diapers and I started to cry :rolleyes: It was hitting me that my baby is growing up :(
Ladies you all know the trouble Brian and I went through to have Nikolas, so watching him take these huge steps is breaking my heart.
I get him dressed Thur morn and I start balling. Nikolas sees that I'm upset, hugs me and says, "it's going to be ok mommy"; not even knowing why I'm crying. I just love that little boy so much.
So anyway, I drop him off on Thur and he was absolutely fine. I was hoping for a little bit of a tear but not one thing. Now I know that's good for him, but it wasn't good for me at all. I kept it together though.
I get to the car, call Brian and lost it. Brian wanted to laugh but he didn't.
I made it through though and Nikolas will be attending preschool twice a week starting tomorrow, if it doesn't snow.
Fast forward to last night. We purchased big boy underwear for him hoping to get him to use the potty. It really hasn't worked until last night. He wanted to wear them and I told him he could wear them if he made a poopie or peepee on the potty. Before he actually sat on the potty he had already gone in his diaper. I wiped him but missed some so when he sat, he "poopied" in the potty. He then asked to wear his underwear.
So I put them on his little butt and he ran to Brian yelling daddy I'm wearing my big boy underwear. Don't you know I started balling again :rolleyes: I'm such a sap ladies :rolleyes:
I need someone to tell me how to stop him from growing up please. I can't stand it :(
Hiya All! Ugh, it is the nastiest, dreariest day out. But those pics Purple posted sure did brighten my day. Lucky to be at the beach in winter.
Ashton is a cutie. Congrats on the baby movement.
Well, Pie Pie is officially potty trained, it took a month of on and off trying but she has been in big girl panties for the past 2 weeks with much success. Now I just have to cut out the night drinking so she can make it through the night.
I forget who the threadmistress is but we should change the 2 to a 3 in the title.
Lorraine it is definitely sad and amazing at the same time.
So we have carpet installed tomorrow, and I hope to be sleeping in my new bedroom tomorrow night. The only thing not complete is the master bath. I ordered a custom vanity top from Lowe's (BIG MISTAKE) and they said 2 week delivery, call on the 2 week due date and I'm told there was a problem with the measurements and they stopped production, HELLO, why wasn't I called. So straightened out the measurement issue and now it'll be another 2 weeks. This all could have been resolved had they called. Once that is complete, my contractor can install the vanity and top, install the toilet and we can get final inspections and be done. This has been going on since Sep 15 and it's not fun anymore. I can't really complain, because this has been the only setback, we have a great contractor he did a fantastic job.
Anywho, have a great weekend.
Hello everyone! I've been MIA! two kids definately keep you busy! But I'm loving every minute of it. Andrew is adjusting so well. He loves his baby sister and I can honestly say that I haven't seen any jealousy yet! Ashlyn is 3 weeks old today and she is doing well. She has a weight check on Monday but shes eating very well although still addicted to her breast shield. But shes nursing well so I can't complain. I'll have to post pics of Andrew and Ashlyn together!
Kim- Ashton looks so big! And he looks just like you. I'm jealous that you get to go to the beach in the winter too. I went to the LLL meeting last week and they were pretty helpful. Thanks again for sending those links.
Island- Sounds like things are moving along nicely. I bet you're really excited to finally have everything done! I'm jealous Pie is potty trained. I don't think Andrew will ever be either. He still has absolutely no interest.
Its currently snowing pretty hard here in the NE. We're supposed to get 8-12 inches. I was hoping to hit up the mall today but we're stuck inside. At least DH got home early and hes helping out with the kids.
Hi everyone!
Kelly - I bet you can't wait to have contractors out of the house! I'm so jealous Pie is potty trained. Claire has zero interest and she *MUST* be potty trained before school in the fall.
Kim - I'm so jealous of your beach pictures! It was almost 80 here on Wednesday and yesterday we got three inches of snow/ice. :rolleyes:
Jen - so glad to hear Andrew is doing great with Ashlyn! How is Andrew doing?
Well, I'm gainfully employed again. I approached the owner of my favorite quilt shop and asked if she would hire me to manage her online store since she said she didn't have the time to keep up with it. And she liked the idea! So most of the time I'll be able to work from home doing something I really enjoy. I'm meeting with her on Tuesday to hammer out some details. Wish me luck in the hopes that I can really expand her business!
Marathon congrats on the job. I would give my back teeth to work at home, LOL.
Yes golden please post pics of Andrew & Ashlyn.
Potty training is bittersweet, I found that I was happy to keep her in pullups but the key was once she had on panties, she was happy and would say, "I'm a big girl".
One of these days when I can sort through the mess that is my house, I will post pre and post construction pics.
Way to go on the (almost complete) construction Kelly!
Way to go with Ashlyn Jen!
Way to go with cutie-pie Ashton, Purple!
How are you doing Lorraine?!
I'm busy as all get out. Happy that spring is around the corner. Nora comes home from school and plays in our backyard almost every day, which I love. But then I have to physically drag her in the house for dinner, which I don't love.
Tess likes to eat grass and dead leaves. So my time with her outdoors is a bit limited!
My work has been pretty nuts since December but I'm hoping that things will slow down soon!
Bumping us up from No Man's Land! Hope everyone is doing well!
Kim - how are you feeling?
Jen - how is Ashlyn? How are you adjusting to life with 2?
Kelly - are the renovations done yet?
Things have been crazy-busy here! I started handling some online business for a quilt shop around here and the owner asked if I could also help out in the shop. It's only for a few hours on the weekends, but it's something I love doing.
James is growing so fast! He's totally sitting on his own now. He never really rolled - I guess that will come later. At his 6 month WBV, he was 16 lbs 14 ozs (50%) and 27" long (70%). He looks HUGE next to Claire! She was always so petite. Unfortunately, due to his chronic eczema, I took him to a pediatric allergist. He's allergic to milk, soy, and the cats. In order to continue BF'ing, I've had to cut all dairy and soy from my diet. The doctor also recommended to avoid peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish since he's at a higher risk for developing allergies to those foods. I've been eating a lot of chicken and rice - way to lose the baby weight though :rolleyes: .
Our big news - drum roll please - Claire is using the potty!!! She decided on her own about a week ago that she wanted to wear big girl undies. We've only had 2 accidents in 10 days :) . However, she's afraid to poop in the potty, so she holds it and gets so constipated. She was up all night for 2 nights crying that her belly hurt. Poor kid. She still wears a dipe at night - we'll work on that later. Any suggestions on how to get her over her fear of pooping?
That's about it for me! Hope all is well with everyone!
Kim- How are you feeling? How far along are you now? Drum roll please.... we finally kicked the nipple shield!!!! Thank you so much for all your help. Only took 9 weeks but better late than never, right? It feels so wonderful to finally get rid of that dreaded thing!
We took him to see Sesame Street live over the weekend and he loved it. No luck in potty training yet. And he cant go to preschool in the fall if hes not trained. :rolleyes: We're working on it. Hes still on alot of diuretics since he still has fluid. We'll see. Ive noticed though that over the last few months though his vocabulary really has exploded. He talks alot in sentances now.
Back later with pics! How is everyone else?
OK I am a bad September mama...
ME- I am almost 25 weeks!!!!! I can not tell you how excited I am for this baby. I just want to hold him or her. I have gain only 4 pounds and have been super active. I am taking yoga 1-2 times a week and LOVE it. I feel so good after it. I also have been working out and walking. How different this PG is from Ashton's. I love being PG, and hated it with Ash.
Ashton- He starts preschool on May 22nd. He will go 2 days a week for 4 hours. I have to pay more because he is not potty trained. His teacher insures me he will be potty trained ASAP as he is the only non potty trained child in the class. He has been doing very well with potty training but I can't leave him in undies full time. He forgets to pee alot of the time and has an accident. Ashton also is doing very well with the idea of a sibling. We talk all the time about what it will be like and he hugs and kisses "his baby" all day long.
Jen- You go girl. Shields are a pain to wean a babe off of. You should be proud. Glad Andrew is doing well. I still pray for him.
Sue- Wow potty training is all done. You lucky duck. How is work going?
Lorriane-Cute pic!!!
WHERE IS EVERYONE ELSE??????????????? COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE!!!!!!
Kim- You're 25 weeks already:eek: Good lord that went fast! I can't wait to hear if its a girl or a boy!! I'm glad you're feeling good. I felt really good when I was pg with Ashlyn too. And I was really little (compared to being huge with Andrew)
How is everyone else?
Hello All!!!!
I haven't been here in forever!!!!
Isabelle is doing great, active and sassy as usual.
I've had to switch sitters again. This is the 4th since I went back to work. The one I had was great but had to quit becasue of a family situation, I'm hoping it's not a permanent thing.
Still working full time, done my distance learning for now, my grad is in June. I'll be finishing to get the diploma in 2008.
We've bought a new house, a few blocks away from ours now. It's gorgeous, we move in July. Now, we just have to sell ours. So, between Belle and moving, it's been hectic.
Going away this weekend camping, Isabelle is super excited.
I'm using DH's laptop, so I can't post any pics until after we move.
I just had to stop in to see how you all were doing. Not really much action going on around here lately, where is everybody??
Excited for the summer, there will be so much more to do.
I've been spending lots of time on facebook.com , anyone a member?? It's really addicting, I've found so many people I have lost touch with.
Anyway, hope you all are well and the kids are keeping you all happy moms!!!!
XOXO
Wow - we all must be busy, busy, busy!!!
ez2luv - congrats on the new house! Sorry to hear you had more sitter trouble!
Things have been pretty crazy here. Doing online stuff for the local quilt shop has exploded! It's really going well - but I'm definitely short on what little free time I used to have.
James now has 2 teeth - they are coming in fast and furious. We're also still battling his food allergies. Since I'm still nursing, I've had to cut all dairy, soy, and nuts from my diet. I really miss ice cream!:(
Claire's last day of school is Monday. I can't believe it's over! But she absolutely LOVED it!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Hey everyone. I haven't been here forever!
Corbin is doing great, I can't believe he is almost 3 though! We are in the middle of potty training right now and so far its gone so well, I wish I would have started sooner. Just in the last 2 months he has really become a big boy, we got rid of the binky, moved him out of the crib and now the potty training, where did my baby go? He is also going to start preschool in August.
We have been ttc again but its not going all that well, we have been trying for over a year and its just not happening, I think we are coming to the end of that and may just stick with our two boys we have now.
Well thats about all thats new with me, I really need to get in here more often, I do read along but need to be better at posting.
Hi girls! I have not been on CC in forever, so just popping in! Things are hectic in our house. In the last 3 weeks Alli turned 4, Will potty trained (overnight, so much easier than the months & months it took dd) and Owen started crawling. It is busy, but I could not love our life more.
My WAH job at the quilt store has ballooned into close to 20 hrs/wk. So I've been busy with that.
I have to get better about posting!
Troi goes in the pool with us at least once a day and he absolutely loves it. We had a turtle float for him, but he tried to climb out of it, so we put swim floaties on his arms, and he loves it. He will splash and cracks up laughing if anyone kicks or splashes the water. He also thinks it's hysterical when Nikolas jumps off the side.
Well sorry for all the pictures, but I should be good for a while now :)
Ashton is doing well as I am too. The baby seems to be getting big in me and I really want this PG to be over. I have 6 weeks until 40 weeks, so this baby won't be here soon enough. I will NOT be having anymore summer babies, it is gets too hot here in FL.
Update on me and Ash....
Well I am 36 weeks and waiting. Baby was breech until Tuesday last week. Totally freaked me out. Had the Webster Technique done at my chiro and it turn the baby head down. I have my home visit in 10 days and then I am a go. My midwife really wanted to do the home visit sooner but I am having Ashton's 3rd birthday Party next week. I just can't handle a b-day party and a home visit in the same week. So she has begged me not to go into labor until after the home visit.
Ashton does not seem to like the idea he is getting a sibling. he talks about how after I have the baby the mommy will come and get the baby. He says I am his mommy and the baby needs it's mommy. Hopefully he will get over it. Well hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Things have been busy here. Claire had ballet camp last week and her recital was yesterday. It was so freakin' CUTE!
James looks like a moose next to her. He's already 27 3/4" long and a little over 19 lbs. He's got 4 teeth already too.
Work at the quilt store is going well although I'm putting in more hours than I originally bargained for.
We may be putting our house on the market too. I've got a realtor coming over tomorrow to check things out.
That's what's been going on here!
Hello all!
Kim easy labor vibes coming your way!!
CONGRATS to all that have been potty trained. You're so lucky.
We've been super busy here. We've been having pool "play" dates at least 3 days out of the week. It's great for the kids but I'm having to keep up with the house much more now.
The boys have really developed their love/hate relationship. They will both get their eye on something and literally fight over it. It is usually Troi that ends up being the bruiser though. They have had more time out's in the past few months then I think anyone else in the world. When they love each other though, it's amazing. They share, hold hands, read together, hug and kiss. It's beautiful.
Nikolas still isn't potty trained. He has no interest and we're not pushing. He has started occassionally telling us that he did make a poopie. I've also noticed that he ususally poops somewhere been noon and one so I'm going to try to get him on the potty. We've tried big boy underwear and he'll go in them and doesn't mind being wet or dirty.
He has also started cutting back on his naps. We were always guaranteed from either 2 to 4 or 2 to 5. Now we're lucky if we get 3 to 4 in. It all depends on how much he did in the morning.
He's also doing great with his German. Brian and he will hold conversations. It's cute to watch Nikolas try to teach Troi some words.
So anyway, I wanted to post what we're doing for his 3rd birthday. It brings tears to my eyes. It seems like it was just yesterday I was in the RE's office crying I would never be a mom and now I have 2 and 1 is growing too fast :(
We're doing Spiderman. I wanted to do something different for the invites so I got these masks and printed the invite part on the back.
My nephew is making this cake. I found the topper locally and it has suction cups so he can play with it afterwards unlike a wax candle.
http://images.birthdayexpress.com/bexpress/assets/product_images/E5717.jpg
And I will be making cup cakes for his class and will put these on top.
http://www.factorycard.com/catalogimageservlet?productId=1203201&imageType=productDetails
We're having his party on the 25th. I usually do them in the evening, but I'm just going to go for 11AM so we can get some sunny pool time in. Just hoping it doesn't rain. If it does, we'll be doing arts & crafts. Either way we have yards toys that our neighbor gave us. They bought a new wooden swing set for their kids and gave us these two things. They had gotten them for free so t
