Trying to think...trying to think...I don't think my doctor gave me *any* type of cough anything when I was sick. There is one type of cough drops you can eat. Crap. Let me find it.

Found this:

#

Cold Symptoms and Hay Fever
If you have high blood pressure, talk to your doctor first

# Chlor-Trimeton (antihistamine)
# Sudafed (decongestant)
# Actifed (antihistamine and decongestant)

Cough Symptoms
# Robitussin or Robitussin DM
If sore throat persists, you should call in to the Obstetric Clinic to schedule an appointment for a throat culture.

From BabyCenter - kind of a generic answer:
Cough or cold Guaifenesin plus dextromethorphan (Robitussin DM, Benylin Expectorant, Vicks Cough Syrup)

Cough drops

Vicks VapoRub

Note that some cold remedies contain alcohol, so you may want to use them sparingly if at all. Avoid products that contain the decongestants pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine, which can affect blood flow to the placenta.

From www.healthcaresouth.com

Cough suppressants containing dextromethorphan are safe during pregnancy. Avoid combination cough medicines that contain several drugs and stick with a product that contains only dextromethorphan such as Benylin or Delsym. Be careful to avoid cough syrups with alcohol. The expectorant, guaifenesin, is considered safe but is not a very effective medication and, therefore, should be avoided.

THANKS LORA!! :) I guess a lot of those things wouldn't effect me anyway since there's no blood supply to "it" yet (if there even is anything there at all!)....I do have some Robitussin in the house....

And I never even considered that I couldn't use cough drops! I have been going to town on Halls for the past week or so....thank god it's only the 2WW!

At this point, you can take anything you want, there's no blood connection between mother and baby until approx 17-18 dpo. If you want to be on the conservative side, though: dextromethorphan (Robitussin-DM, Trind-DM, Vicks, etc.) is very safe. :)

Thanks to you too, BTB!!

(and DH thanks both of you too, since hopefully, my hacking cough won't be keeping him up for the 4th night in a row!)
