I have two little dogs (when Snapfish is working, I will post pictures!). They are both toy fox terriers. Some of this depends on age (both mine are 2 years old).

My male ended up being taller and bigger framed. I give him 4 Tbs. of kibble (Wellness Weight Management or Canidae Platinum) mixed in with 1 Tbs of canned food (usually Canidae) mixed with a bit of fresh vegetables (carrots, peas, and green beans are his favorites) twice a day. It's probably no more than 1/4 cup total, but the kibble and the canned food make up no more than half of that. He gets fed twice a day. My male weighs 8 lbs, and is perfectly lean. If he starts getting chubby (he gets a fat roll around his neck) I cut it down.

My female has a hole in her esophagus, so she needs a bit of a special diet. (She can't eat any hard food). She gets about 3 Tbs of tuna or chicken (yes, the actual meat) mixed in with about 3 Tbs of fresh vegetables and 1 Tbs of goat milk yogurt twice a day. She is 6 pounds and has the best coat you've ever seen- it gleams. She has a tendency to be a bit thin- if I see too much of her ribs I add a bit of oatmeal or brown rice and she bulks right back up.

Both dogs get a vet recommended mix of vitamins and supplements including fatty acids for allergies and chonidrotin/glucosamine to prevent future joint problems.

When they were puppies they got about the same amount of food (not weight management kibble though!) divided over 3 times a day.

I have a 4.5 year old miniature pinscher that weighs about 12 pounds. She eats 1/4 cup of dry food (Innova adult) 2x a day. Plus the occasional treat (innova cookie), piece of cheese, carrot, etc--pretty minimal on the people food though.

I have a 4 year old Min Pin who weighs about 15 lbs, while he's large for a Min Pin he's not fat by any means, just taller and bigger overall. With how much energy he exerts during the day it's not surprising that he'll eat about 2 very full cups of food a day, plus his chew toys (rawhide, beef sticks, etc.). Anymore he doesn't get hardly any people food.
