AF has finally arrived (at lunchtime no less), a little late but she has made her appearance.

Threadmistress ~ please move me to waiting to O.

Now I can start planning our next BDing adventure. :)

QOTD ~ I'm like you tealynn, I'd love to stay home but have a feeling we won't be able to afford it. :( I'm another one living in S. Florida where the cost of living is incredibly high. We've been tyring to come up with some ideas of how I can start a business or do something where I work from home. I just can't even imagine how hard it will be for me to have to go back to work after having a baby. Personally I've always known I was going to be a mommy one day and never really had big career goals. I was actually going to school to be a teacher so that I could be off with my kids in the summer times. Unfortunatly never finished college and ended up working in accounting. Boo! :(

Ugh! August is turning out to be a bust. I'm ready for this month to be over so we can start a new thread and all have a fresh start.

Sorry about AF DelSol & numberlady.

DelSol, sorry about AF. At least she finally came and you can move on to your next "adventure."

QOTD--I reserve the right to change my mind after I actually have kids, but I'm pretty sure I'll go back to work after 3-6 months of maternity leave. I'm a teacher and though I love the summers off, I go a little nuts without working so long (as you all know). DH is also a teacher and our careers are generally pretty kid-friendly--one of us can be home by 4 every day, pretty much, and we'd probably get day care at DH's school so he could stop by during the day. OTOH, we could afford to have one of us stay home if we lived very simply. It's important to me that that is possible, just in case it works out to be best for our family that way. We have close friends with a son with extreme needs who requires almost constant care. He's got cerebral palsy that has him confined to a wheelchair and other challenges. So we know that it's possible that something like that could happen in our family and one of us could stay home in that case. Anyway--probably we will both keep working, but I don't know what will be best for our family 100% until we get there. :)

DelSol- sorry AF showed :(

QOTD- I probably would cut back my time at the office, most likely try to work at home, most of what I do can be done online anywhere so it might work...DH is self-employed so he can make his own hours, so I think it will work out!!

As for me, I think I O'ed on 8/22, so please move me to testing the week of Sept 3rd.

Just to let you all know, I've moved myself to the "taking a charting break" section. I just haven't really been into charting for some reason this cycle. I keep saying I'm going to temp in the morning and then forgetting for some reason. How I forget after over 6 cycle of charting I don't know. So I'm taking it that my body is telling me to relax. Also since I pretty much always O between CD14-18 I think we'll just see what happens this cycle.

I'm not leaving the thread or anything, just not going to temp. Just wanted you all to know in case you wonder why I'm in that section. :D

I'm on day 15 with no EWCM (or much CM for that matter) in sight. :( I'm thinking that this may be another late O cycle, so I don't want to start BD too soon (and get tired out like last cycle). DH has been asking if it's "baby time" yet. At least he cares. He's determined that we're going to get knocked-up the old fashioned way so that we won't need our RE appt next month.

QOTD: I don't plan on staying at home F/T b/c I think I'd go a little crazy. I'd like to work P/T. I have a very flexible work setting and set my own hours (my supervisor said I could take a newborn to work if I wanted) so it's possible. However, if I didn't want to work I wouldn't have to.

I agree that August sucks! Let's move on to September and some BFP's already!!!!!

QOTD: I wish I could be a SAHM but its just not financially possible. I mean we wouldnt be living on the streets if I couldnt work...but it would be very tight...We have only been in our house for close to 2 years...so the mortgage is killer on us since we went from paying $450 for a one bedroom apt to $1300 every month. I would love to do it...but its just not fesible...

Sorry about everyone leaving, taking a break, and just that this month has just plain ole sucked for us veterans in here. Things will get better they have too ;)

I am at cycle day 8 and started my estrogen...3x's a day....oh joy...I think we will begin the Bd fest around day 11 or 12....:D

DelSol
08-24-2006, 04:28 PM
QOTD: How many of you will want to be a SAHM once you get your BFP?

I would love be a SAHM but it's not feasible for us. I carry the benefits and if I really think about I'm the bread winner of the family. DH is currently trying to get his business started and have it take off. We talked about him being the SAHD because when he works, he does most of it at night and the majority of it is done on the computer. Jokingly, I told him he can get up and do the 2AM feedings since he'd already be up. My mom currently watches my niece on Mondays & Fridays so we will see if she'll watch our baby also if DH needs to visit clients or needs a break. I'm sure if need be, MIL will come down and watch our baby also, she plans on retiring in December so I am sure she'll want to get away from FIL.

FSUSammy - Yes I am in Tallahassee. I graduated from FSU in 96 with my degree in Finance and 97 with Accounting. I met my DH (then bf) in 95 and he wasn't ready to leave, so I got a job here out of school and we never left. My mom and sister are still here, and now that we want to start a family it seems nice to be around other family. All of our other family is all over the country.
j*east - Ha, yea that sign did not work for me or DelSol. Maybe we can bring it back out next month! Glad I could make you feel human. Sometimes I look at peoples charts and can't figure out what the heck is going on, and othertimes it is easy to see.
DelSol - Sorry about AF. We had a good thing going there for a while. So I guess we will enter September as cycle buddies.
Chris~n~Jen - I'm ready to move to a new thread too. I haven't been here long, but I must say based on the first page, this must be the worst month ever.

QOTD - DH and I have already planned for him to be a WAHD. I think that my job might be a little flexible, so I might be able to work from home some, but that will not be a regular thing.

OK, so I'm going to vent here for a sec. I got AF today, DH and I are fighting, and as it appears I will be lucky to be pg by my due date. It really sucks because things have always come easy for me. My cycles are regular and I though I would just pop into this thread and pop out. I know that some of you have been trying a lot longer, and I really admire how strong you all are because this time of the month it sucks! I mean I guess you just forget and move on to the next cycle very hopeful that it will be your month. I just hoped I would be pgby now to help me feel better about my m/c that I had earlier this year.

On the positive side, I am leaving for a girls weekend tomorrow with my two best friends and we will have a great time. At least I can drink with them! I also have one more month to try to lose a few pounds.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and we get a couple more BFP's in here. Sorry to be a downer:o

Hi ladies! I am so far behind that I am sure I will miss someone with my SO's but I will try, but first, the QOTD (tealynn, I feel like a nerd too!):

I do plan to SAH with my little one, if he or she ever decides to be conceived! DH and I talked to our financial guy, who is a close friend, before we began house hunting so we could be sure to buy something we could afford on his salary alone. DH and I make around the same money so it will be a major cut for us, but he has the good benefits (I work for myself and have none!) and we tend to spend money whenever we want to now without thinking about it. Now, when kiddo gets a little older, I may go to work a couple of days a week for a small district or something. Since DH is an RN, he works 3 12 hour shifts one week, and 3 12s and an 8 the next, so I would try to work it out to work when he is off. This is something that's really important to me, so we made provisions for it.

Del Sol- sorry about AF, but I like your attitude about it!

numberlady- Sorry about AF! Feel free to rant. I am oposite of you...I have to wait for everything, so I thought surely this TTC thing would be easy for me since I had to wait for everything else. Not so! Hang in there!

j*east- woo hoo for testing willpower! I hope your patience will pay off! I'll be checking in every morning until I see your results!

Chris-n-Jen and polkadot- August has sucked! I am ready for Sept!

honeygirl- I am sorry it looks like no O yet! I hope you don't get burnt out too quick!

katie- Yay for O!

tealynn- you will get tired of me saying this, but you crack me up! I love that list. So true!

me- still mad at the doc's office. Looking for another one. They still haven't called me and I am tired of calling them. I am not as emotional anymore, but the thought of TTA for a month is now not setting well, even though it's obvious we can't do this on our own. I think I am going to call another office or 2 and see what they think about me having a lap. On the one hand, I don't want to do it...it's surgery and I will have to TTA. On the other, I think I will regret not doing it now, especially if there is something the lap can find. Uh, so confused!

QOTD~ I work pt 3 days a week. My mom watches DD 1 of those days and my MIL watches DD the other 2, so it works out very well. Working pt is really a nice balance, it'a chance to get out and make extra money(and I carry the benefits) and since my mom and mil watch DD I know she's in the best hands besides being with me or dh.

numberlady~ Sorry about AF. I know how you feel, I had a m/c back in March and I've put all this pressure (which I'm sure isn't helping) on myself to be pg by my due date which would have been in Oct. I've been pg 3 times before and never had to try more than once, and one of those times we weren't even trying... Anyhow I know how frustrating it can be. Enjoy your girls weekend!

DelSol~ Sorry about the witch showing up.

Hello to everyone, sorry it's been such a crappy month for so many.

Well, my chart is looking very similar to the way it did last month so I don't have much hope. Although today I've had some dull pinching crampy feelings down below but I'm not putting too much stock in it. I have no will power so I'll probably start testing Monday.

QOTD: If we have twins or win we have 2 kids, I would like to be a SAHM for a few years. If we only have one child, I will probably go back to work. I think I would go nuts if I stayed at home, but I might change my mind when I'm in that situation. The nice thing about my work is I will get 3 months paid for maternity leave and then I can take an additional 2 months unpaid. In 5 months, I should be able to tell if I want to work or not and also during the last 2 months, I can figure out if we could do this with only my hubby's salary. We could if we cut back, but I just love shopping so that might be hard. :)

Me: It's cd20 and I still haven't O'd. With the Clomid, I should have O'd anywhere from last Friday to this past Tuesday... nothing. My usual time is cd24-29 so I'm hoping it will come soon. My hubby and I normally only make love like twice a month and we've done it 5 times now in the last 1.5 weeks. We're worn out and don't have the energy to do this every other day. My temp went quite a bit down today so I'm hoping it'll go up in the next day or two. Fingers crossed. *sigh*

Hi ladies!
I'm way behind so no so's... bummer to those who AF found! That sucks! Aug is turning out to be a crappy month.
QOTD I'd like to work just part time but I don't think that will be possible with our expenses and I make more money than DH. DH is usually home from work about 2 or so so that's not too bad.

It's official... we just need some really happy news in here to close out this August thread!

QOTD We're hoping I'll be a SAHM for a while and finish my Masters degree part time. I only have three classes to go, two of which are going to be impossible to take while working FT regardless of a child entering the picture.

Good news -- I think I O'd!!! :D Threadmistress, could you please move me to Think I O'd, testing 9/4 - 9/10. And while I have your attention in red - THANK YOU for all you do on this thread! :)

But HELP! Can anyone look at my chart and tell me if you think FF got the O day right? I can definitely "feel" that I O'd, I'm just wondering if the day is correct.

My Chart (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/128004)

Happy Friday everyone!

Jen; Itis nice totake a beak from temping. If you O normally then I would just see what happens as well.

Jess; Sorry you are having problems with your Dr office. Hope another doc can give you some answers.
Red: I would say that it would be a day later since you still had watery cm.

Sorry to everyone AF has showed to.

QOFTD; Not planning on being a SAHM since my job is the better one. DH woks for himself so he would be a SAHD plus my mom lives very close.

For those who temp Vaginally do find your temps are more steady? My oral temps in the past have been all over the place.

CD 30 here had some spotting yesterday afternoon then nothing then right before bed I had bright red blood so thought for sure AF had shown then this morning nothing. Just wish she would show or that the spotting would go away.

Ugh, August has really sucked. :(

Sorry to hear of all the AF visits. Hopefully she makes her exit quickly.

QOTD: I will be going back to work after maternity leave. I am planning on taking 3 months of maternity and then going back to work. I think we would be able to make it work financially, if one us decided to stay home (we both make about the same), but I don't think I would be able to handle being home all the time. Plus, I paid for my college education and don't want to waste it. No offense to anyone who wants or is a SAHM!

As for me...things are going pretty well. The fiber and medication has been helping with my constipation. I haven't been in much pain at all. Hopefully that will hold true throughout this cycle and maybe we can get a BFP out of it!! :)

Hey ladies. I'm 9DPO today. I decided to enter in all of my vag. temps into my ovusoft chart to see what ovusoft said since FF took away my crosshairs a few days ago.

Well surprisingly ovusoft said according to my vag. temps that I O'd on CD 22. Which corresponds with my oral temps. Only catch is, in order to get ovusoft to call O on CD 22 with my oral temps I had to exclude 2 temps, didn't have to do that with my vag. temps. So I guess for me, vag. temping is the way to go. Oh and also with my vag. temps you clearly could see a temp drop right before O. It's not a drastic drop but its a drop.

So I'm now sitting here waiting for AF to come. Should be here in a few more days.

Hey ladies got a QOTD for you all:

QOTD: Do you think that you and your DH are ready financially for a baby (or your next child if you already have one)?

My answer to QOTD: DH doesn't think we are ready now. We just got our property tax bill and we just bought our home in 2005 and the bill jumped up a good $4k. Yup you read that right! So we are both trying to see if we can get more money from our jobs. I've already been interviewing and am waiting to hear about offers, so hopefully I can get a substantial enough of an increase for him to be comfortable with going ahead and TTC once we get the all clear from my gastroenterologist.

08-25-2006, 09:55 AM
QOTD ~ Short answer NOPE! I don't think we would be ready fincially ready for a long time. If we waited until we were "ready", we wouldn't be having any babies for a while. We know that we can do it even though we don't feel 100% comfortable. We'll just have to do what our parents did and get by.

We are also both working on getting more $$$ from jobs so hopefully that helps. :)

QOTD: Do you think that you and your DH are ready financially for a baby (or your next child if you already have one)?

No we aren't financially ready for a baby. We discussed this around the same time when we decided what month to TTC. We figured there was never a perfect time, not matter how financially or non-financially secure we were. DH is trying to get his business started, so money is tight but if he does the SAHD thing then we won't have to worry about daycare costs. It's scary not knowing if you can make your personal bills and the household bills. My next raise is in January so I am hope for a big one.

QOTD - we are in the same position as DelSol - DH is starting his own business as well. But we are fortunate that with my salary and the rent from our basement we can just pay the bills But extra money would be nice!!!

Hi all. I have a sore throat and headache and feel feverish, but don't actually have a fever. (Remember before you charted when you took your temp maybe 3 times a year instead of every day? Funny.) I just took a three hour nap! My chart's the same, which is to say not bad but not outrageously good. I'll test Mon or Tues.

I'm going to the dentist and eye doctor Tuesday so I'd like to know before I go. Both of them practice in the town where I grew up--I've been seeing the dentist since age 4 or so (28 years!) and the eye doctor since age 13. I'm afraid if I get a BFP and tell them, my parents will know in 5 minutes since they both still live there and it's a small town. We'll see. Don't know if it's crucial for them to know if I'm only 4 weeks along. (Probably won't tell parents for a while.)

QOTD, yes, we are ready, for two reasons. 1. My mom's a financial planner and we just met with her about wills, life insurance, long term disability insurance, savings, etc., so if anything happens to one of us, we'll still be OK. 2. My DH teaches at a boarding school and housing and meals are included in his pay--so that is a HUGE break. Oh, and 3. We've worked really hard to get rid of our debt over the last few years, so we don't have much left. We really don't make much, but we've learned not to spend that much either.

Hope everyone is doing OK. Happy Friday! I think I'm the next person to test--I'll try not to disappoint. ;)

TGIF!!!

Cowgirl, hope the spotting means good things, not that AF is on her way.

SweetRed,FF might be off by a day, basing it strictly on your CM.

Berry, sorry about the relationship issues-have you thought about counseling?

Risa, hope you O soon and catch the egg!

Jess, sounds like changing physicians might be a good idea.

Jessied glad you've your intestinal issues under control. That's always a good thing!

FSUSammy,Hope AF shows up soon so you can move on to the next cycle.

J*east, Your chart is looking really good!!! When will you test?

I started this post TWO hours ago.

When it comes to having babies, I think you just have to go for it and believe that everything will work out for the best. My Mom & Dad we're broke as a joke when I surprised them, and while it hasn't always been easy (I have a ton of pictures of me as a kid in hideous homemade clothing) it's all good now.

My temps are still going up, and my FPS are nowwhere to found. Hmmmm.

I'm hoping to avoid a set back with next month's BDing.

I was talking to MIL last night and she said how she wants to come down to go shopping at our mall but she decided not to come down this weekend since she is back in physical therapy (meanwhile I'm thinking didn't know you coming down this weekend, must ring DH's neck). So she said she'd like to come down after Labor Day, with charting I can figure out when my fertile time will be and it's the week of Labor Day more towards the end of the week. So I nicely say well why don't you come down the week of the 13th, meaning that Friday the 15th because all the kids will be back in school by then. Plus she isn't ruining my BDing time. :p

QOTD We were not financially for #1. Nowhere close. However, I can happily say we are there for #2. That is barring any unforeseen crazy complications or sicknesses or job loss, etc. We are a thousand times more ready than we were for #1, and we made it work just fine! ;)

I dotn think your are ever really ready but I would say yes...we have bought all the major things we **wanted** to have...and now we are just living...KWIM...it might be tight right at the beginning b/c i wont be working but other than that...I say yes!

Just got some mixed berry Lipton green tea. MMMMmmmmm

I am having a lot more CM now...unfortunately we can't TTC this month unless I O super late.

QOTD: Yep, we are financially ready and have been for a while. As I said in the previous QOTD, we planned our house buying for me being a SAHM. We have bought all the fun stuff we need and have gone on some great vacations. We are saving as we go, too. DH is so conservative with our money that we are doing fine. We get the things we want, but within reason and only if we can afford it.

A laugh for the night....

Ladies, my hairdresser had me peeing my pants tonight. She asked me if we were trying for babies and I said yes (she's not gonna run into my family so I didn't care). So she said do you want to hear something that will definitely get you pregnant? So I said sure. She's like hold on to you hat and she's laughing. So I said are my curls gonna go straight, she said yup! She saw this on Discovery Channel, many years ago, considering her daughter is now 4 years old. She goes you need to let your husband have his orgasm first and then you have your orgasm, you'll have to be creative since hubby will be soft. :o She told me the sperm will form a pool in your cervix and then when you have your orgasm your cervix will suck up the sperm. She had been trying for a few years to have her daughter and she did what she saw on Discovery Channel and she got pregnant. She goes they actually showed this happening on Discovery Channel and then she's like who signs up for that to be taped and watched?!?!?!

I just might try this method out next month and see what happens. :p

I hope someone got a laugh over this.

Enjoy the weekend Ladies!

Hi ladies..
SweetRed yay for O'ing!
Cowgirl hope the spotting stays away!
jessied glad to hear your meds are helping.
FSUSam interesting about the oral vs. vag... hope AF shows soon so you can move on!
j*east hope you feel better soon! And good luck testing, your chart looks great!
tealynn your chart looks great too!
DelSol too funny about trying to change your MIL's visit and about the hairdresser's advice! (DH usually lets "ladies go first" though.. lol)
polkadot hope you get some fertile CM and your headache goes away soon!
jess I just tried that mixed berry green tea for the first time tonight too.. it's pretty good! I had been drinking alot of the citrus flavor.
risa nice dip and jump! Hopefully your temps will stay up now!
qotd Nope we aren't financially ready. Discussed that and decided if we waited until we were then we'd be... hmmm about 100yrs old. But we both have jobs and a house and we're getting by.. and plenty of people have had kids with alot less than we have so here we go! (My brother went back to college right when his first was born.... they are living on his wife's salary as a hairdresser and his sporadic income in the summer and what he gets playing in a bar band... they now have 2 kids (3yrs and 7 months) and he will graduate in May.)

As for me, I had some slight spotting this afternoon... should be getting AF in a couple days.

QOTD: Yes, we're financially ready. We're remodeling our kitchen (completely) and doing other home upgrades, but they should be all done by the time a baby came along (hopefully).

DelSol - Interesting info and funny that your hairdresser told you! :) I'll have to keep that in mind. My DH doesn't um "go soft" after BD, so it shouldn't be too difficult. ;) I can't believe I just wrote that, I'll probably edit it later.

ABirney - Sorry about the spotting/pending af.

risa00 - I hope that the "egg dropped", I know that BD can be exhausting. :)

j*east - I think I'm the next person to test--I'll try not to disappoint. Crossing my fingers for you!!!

Me: - I'm pretty sure I don't have fertile CM yet, but it's hard to tell with all that pesky semen getting in the way. I'd like to think that I did today (have EWCM), plus I had a temp drop this morning, but I don't know yet. Time will tell!

honeygirl - Totally know what you mean about the semen vs. EWCM. I was having the same problem this week with it. WARNING TMI... When I went to wipe today I thought I had a tampon in me. I then realized it wasn't the string hanging down but rather very very long EWCM or semen.. Nasty!!!

honeygirl Hope you O soon!
risa Hope you caught your "dropped egg!"

Well AF arrived this morning. What is wierd though is that I only had a little spotting yesterday and she was here today... I usually spot for 3-4 days first. On to the next cycle... let's hope I actually O this time!
Going to my parent's today and then it's my niece's 3rd bday party tomorrow up in Fargo. Should be fun!

honeygirl
08-26-2006, 02:36 PM
ABirney - I think it's a good thing to have less spotting. For one it makes it quicker (hopefully) till the next cycle gets going!

Chart Question: As some of you know I started vaginal temping this cycle, in addition to regular. I had a big temp drop yesterday and then a big rise today, which on my Ovusoft chart (mouth temp) looks significant for a possible O. However, if you look at my FF chart (vaginal) it doesn't look that way AT ALL. So what do you ladies thing?

Don't know what to tell you, honeygirl! It does look like you O'd on your Ovusoft chart, but not that clear on FF, although the next couple of days may show you did. Just wait another couple of days to see what your temps do.

Yay for Oing, risa!

ABirney- I have been drinking the citrus a lot too. I also tried the Nestea Peach, and really liked it!

Nothing new here. Just reading along!

just reading along myself...I bought 10 OPK's today....hopefully they will help me determine when and if I O...and I am using the monitor too...but my monitor, well the sticks for my monitor have been kinda weird...I never see any lines...I am wonderign if I am getting too much urine on them or maybe not enough....who knows...I will try again tomorrow...

But the 1st OPK was -, so....come on O!!!

Hi all--I'm spotting and my temp is down, so I'm not testing until AF is late, which I highly doubt she will be. Feeling pretty bleah. Please don't feel the need to hold out hope--I really think we're done for this cycle.

Honeygirl, it looks like you dropped a temp on Ovusoft but not FF. If you drop it on FF, and add another high temp or two in the next few days, I think it will show O.

Hope everyone is doing well.

DelSol - Interesting info and funny that your hairdresser told you! :) I'll have to keep that in mind. My DH doesn't um "go soft" after BD, so it shouldn't be too difficult. ;) I can't believe I just wrote that, I'll probably edit it later.

yeah, my DH doesn't "go soft" after BD either, well not for awhile at least. :o I was quoting the hairdresser.

risa00 ~ good luck catching your egg.

ABirney ~ Sorry AF showed her ugly face. Yup trying change MIL's visit and I know my SIL wants to come down also so I'll be jumping hoops to get her to come down another time also. I'll be informing DH when the BDing schedule might be and then tell him no one is allowed to visit us or stay over night during this time. The things that need to be done to catch that egg!

polkadot ~ yea for buying OPK's. I hope they work and tell you when you are Oing. If this next cycle doesn't work, I might have to look into buy them.

j*east ~ sorry AF is looming.

Me ~ not much going, I think AF is getting ready to leave town so that will be nice. Then it’s countdown to O time and BDing. :D

so the same thing happened again this morning when I used the test sticks...still not seeing any lines...I think i may call the 1 800 # tomorrow and see what they say....maybe they will send be a free box..those test sticks are VERY $$, but i did get a high reading but i think that is b/c of all the estrogen I am taking  we plan to bd every other day until I get a + OPK then we will BD everyday for 4 days...hoepfully that will be enough for us :D

QOTD~ Yes we are financially ready. Our first house we bought was a fixer-upper. Dh completely read did the the whole house and all of his hard work paid off very nicely earlier this year when we sold it.

j*east~ Sorry about the temp drop.

risa~ Yea for O'ing!

I'll be 10dpo tomorrow and I have a test that's yelling out my name everytime I walk in the bathroom so I'm going to use it in the morning. I haven't had any fps just a little bit of pressure in my abdomen and some cramping the last few days. I really trying not to get my hopes up...

08-27-2006, 12:25 PM
I'm sorry about the spotting and temp drop, j*east!

polkadot- I hope you get the monitor figured out. If you're spending all that $$ on those things, might as well be able to use them right! I hope you O soon!

DelSol and everyone else- DH and I were talking yesterday after I was on here about how everybody says stuff like "my MIL was visiting, so we didn't get to BD" or " we were at SIL's house so we didn't get to BD". We tend to do it more when there is that danger of getting caught! Total turn on to have to be quiet! I know everybody's different, but I think especially if it's my house and they are visiting I have every right to have sex in my own room in my bed. I mean, my parents did it when I lived at home, so why shouldn't I do it with them here?? Anyway, just my take on it. So I guess this can spark a QOTD!

QOTD: What is your comfort level with BDing with others in the same house?

I'm officially out. AF showed 2 days early. At least I didn't waste $ on a test, right? And I had a shorter LP for once, so I can test sooner next time. ;)

DH and I have been talking today and I think I might take a break from charting this month and (if necessary) alternate charting cycles and non-charting cycles. The charting seems to get me so wrapped up and worked up, and since I'm pretty consistent in Oing around the same time, I'm not sure it's helping. But I am VERY glad I've done the charting so far, so we'll see. I'm not deciding anything for a few days.

Hope someone gets a BFP soon...August is not our best month so far!

Good luck to all! Welcome, Cosmogirl!

Oh, threadmistress, please move me to "waiting to O." Thanks.

QOTD: DH & I both feel that if we have to wait to be financially ready, we will never even get to TTC! We are "comfortable", but could always use more.

QOTD: What is your comfort level with BDing with others in the same house?
The mystery and sneakiness is the best part!! I still feel a little "wierd" if I am in other family member's houses, but...let the fun begin!! :):)

I started school 8 days ago and have been sick since last Monday. Of course, my b-day happened to be Tuesday and O day somewhere between Wed & Now. But, with all the sick mucus, comes all sorts of CM. Hopefully those sick romps will have done some good!!

j*east - sorry AF showed up :(

Welcome Cosmogirl!

kerrykate - keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP!!

Polkadot - I am on my second month of using the OPK and have yet to get a positive. This month I have even tested twice a day to make sure I am not missing the surge but all I got was a very very faint line

DelSol - LMAO about your hair dresser. Isn't interesting how we will discuss about anything with them!!

QOTD: What is your comfort level with BDing with others in the same house?

That can be fun!!! You just have to be quiet about it but I think it can add some excitement to it :p

I'm om CD16, no O though having some sharp pains so maybe soon?? or with my luck maybe not at all.

Just drumming my fingers waiting for the next cycle since our timing was so bad this cycle with travel and all. :( One more week until AF arrives, so I guess about 3 weeks until the next BD fest. I'm so impatient. I'm having a lot more creamy CM in my LP this cycle than I've ever had. I know a surge of estrogen is normal in the LP but it still makes me wonder. Pretty sure I did O though, but we're doing some occasional BD'ng just in case, and more just for fun. ;)

I'm so sorry to those that AF found. :( Hurry up, September!

Hey ladies. No time for s/o's right now. I'm 12 DPO today. I have a feeling AF is on the verge of coming. Just wish she'd arrive already. My temp dropped this morning so I'm not sure if she'll come today or not.

We are actually watching the weather very closely over here. We are in the path of Tropical Storm Ernesto. They are saying it is going to upgrade to a Hurricane once it comes off of Cuba. We'll see if that happens or not. I might be leaving work early to go get gas and some essentials that I don't have at home just in case this storm does get stronger. Gotta love living in Florida!

Good Morning ladies!

There are just to many post for shout outs but I will try to come later to day to do them.

QOTD:Are you finacially ready: No but like others have said If we wait it will never happen but I know it will work out.

QOTD: As Dh says I always want to BD when there is someone staying with us. So I am fine with it.

So I have had 6 days of spotting no AF and I think it may have stopped. I am thinking if I don't get AF by the end of the week I will pick up a test. Just don't want to get my hopes up and then get a BFN. Since I was not temping not sure if I O'd or not.

armadillo

Financially ready? Yup. That's why we decided to TTC, because we felt that we could financially support a child.

BDing with others in the house...as long as we're in OUR house, we're fine. But if we're staying at someone else's house, it's not so great.

My RE is telling me he thinks I have a light case of PCOS now. It was weird. One second I'm in the room and he's looking at my HSG and bloodwork and saying that things look great and I have nice, healthy young eggs and perfect bloodwork. Then he does the sonogram and sees about 20 follicles on each ovary and all of a sudden, the 3-4 zits I get every month (isn't that normal???) become "acne" and my cycles which range from 29-36 days are "irregular" (keep in mind this is after me being on the pill for 10 years...now my cycles are pretty steady at 32-34 days) and I have PCOS. Everything I read about PCOS says that I don't have it...I have balanced hormones, no excess hair growth or hair loss, not at all overweight, *I* think my cycles are regular, RE looked at my charts and said that I O...but I also can't explain the polycystic ovaries since my charts clearly show ovulation. I read that it's possible to have polycystic ovaries but not have PCOS, so I'm wondering if that's the case for me? In which case, would that mean that I won't O this month, since I have so many follicles on each ovary? Other enlightening facts...I have a very tilted cervix (tilts to the left) and a retroverted uterus. DH's SA showed super sperm, even though he has a large varicocele. The dr. keeps wanting to throw drugs at me and I keep putting him off. He thinks I'm scared of Clomid now, when I keep telling him "Figure out EXACTLY what's wrong first before you start pumping me full of drugs I may or may not need." I'm willing to take the time to figure things out and I don't want to waste money on drugs that might not help.

Hi everyone....just back from my SIL's wedding in NJ. AF showed this morning, but DH and I are secretly relieved because we got offered a free 2 year old lab that we brought home and we had a heck of a time sleeping last night (probably a 1/2 hour total!). So, while we are still seeing what happens, this cycle probably would have made it a little overwhelming!

I'll try to get to SO's later!

Threadmistress, please move me to Waiting to O!

motray Sorry about AF, but congrats on your new family member! :D I LOVE labs.

armadillo Sounds like a frustrating situation. I can definitely see why you wouldn't want to take drugs if you aren't completely sure of your condition. Hope you get the answers you're looking for soon.

* * *

Financially ready? Nope, but I don't think we'll ever be perfectly financially ready, so now is as good a time as any. We'd rather start TTC at a younger age than wait until we're older.

BDing with others in the house....I'm ok with it but DH is uncomfortable. But we had visitors this past weekend and a couple weeks back he said if it was my fertile time last weekend, he'd be willing to BD with them there.

QOTD: What is your comfort level with BDing with others in the same house?
When I was younger, I didn't care but now that I am older, I guess I changed and now I care who is in the house. I know DH would be uncomfortable. I can't even get him to do any BDing while on vacation, we rent a townhouse with his parents and one other person and they are all asleep and we'll be downstairs and nothing.

Hello everyone! I was a member last fall when we first started TTC, but then we learned I had a thyroid issue and had to push back TTC until that got under control.

I've had pretty irregular cycles ever since going off BCP (1.5 years ago  ) so we'll see how things go. I was pretty excited back in July when I had an *almost* textbook cycle, only to be completely baffled when I had a 21 day annov cycle in August. Needless to say I'm a bit frustrated, but very hopeful that I will at least O this month. :)

We were going to wait until September to start TTC, but since my cycle started early, so will we!

DH: 37

To answer a couple QOTD's:
Financially ready? Yep. Of course we could always use more money in the bank (who couldn't?), but we are very stable. For us, that stability was a must before TTC.

BDing with others in the house? If it's our house, absolutely. :) Like others have mentioned, it adds a little bit of excitement. If we are at other people's house, probably not.

J*east, Sorry you're out this month. I understand how charting can make you insane, if you know your cycle that well, then you may not need to obsess over it.

Motray, sorry the old hag showed. Better luck next month!

KerryKate, your temps are looking good! It think we're on similar test schedules. Good luck!

Welcome Cosmogirl and Catlover! Hope your stay is short and sweet.

FSUSammy, Hope you're not in the storms path! Be sure to grab lots of milk and TP on the water home.

Cowgirl, I hope your spotting is the good kind of spotting! Keep us updated.

Armadillo, can you get a second opinion? Drs. are so willing to throw Clomid at the problem w/o doing all the research. Although, I did read that even in woman O'ing regularly, more got PG taking Clomid than taking a placebo.

SQ2, hope your waiting AF goes by in flash!

I guess KerryKate and I are the next to receive the *proverbial* POAS torch. I'm leaving for the beach on Thursday night and it will definitely be a chaotic environment so I'm not sure if I'll test before Labor Day...which will put me at 16DPO.

Hi girls.

Welcome catlover and cosmogirl! I hope you don't have to stay long!

armadillo- sorry about the drama with your dr. I am a doctorphobe and anyone that wants me to take drugs without finding out what's wrong with me makes me wanna start a commune and swear off modern medicine ;). If he won't do a little more investigating, I would definitely get a 2nd opinion or change drs all together.
Copied from my journal:
No word yet from the fertility group. I did finally get a hold of my dr., though, and I am feeling a little better about the lap. The nurse called me back and I asked all of the questions I needed to ask. Turns out that I am having the HSG+lap. I am not sure if they will do the actual sonogram part or just shoot dye and see if it comes out where they can see it with the scope, but I am glad it's getting done. I am still planning to switch dr.s but I am fine with going ahead with Thurs. now.

Thanks to everyone for answering my QOTD. Interresting answers.

TMI Alert..

I was feeling weird today. I started to get a headache, thought it was because the weather was changing and then someone sprayed perfume at work so that dind't help my head but I didn't think anything of it. I also felt crampy, I had some spotting yesterday and this morning, still didn't think anything of it. I got home from work and went to the bathroom and it seems AF came back, there was big blood clot. So I really don't know why that happened once AF is gone she doesn't come back like this, I'll get one day of spotting but that all. Ugh wish I knew what was going on.

I don't know how I should record this on my chart??

DH & I went out to eat and I had printed out my September calendar and showed it to him and said, see these days I have X'd off, and he said yes, and I said that means no visitors. He looked at my and was like ok, why. All I need to do is give him a look and he goes is that baby making time? I said yes so no visitors then, that means your mom and your sister. He seemed to have a positive attitude about the baby making and this time he didn't roll his eyes when I said we need to BD on those days I have X'd off.

Welcome cosmogirl and catlover!
I'm behind on s/o's after being gone the weekend so good luck to those testing and sorry to those the witch found.
My ovusoft software is acting up... I put in menses for Saturday but it won't start a new chart for me until Sunday.. don't know what's going on with that.
Had a good time this weekend visiting my parents (except for the mini-fight with my mom last night, but that's all better now.) My niece's bday was fun. I didn't even take my temp because I figured missing a CD2 temp wouldn't make a difference. I did forget to take my metformin last night though! First time since I started it in May! I don't think missing 1 dose will cause much problem though.

I am so mad  and so embarassed :o at the same time!!! When it was BD time, my husband was always like 'naughty nurse?' with excitement.. Um, no don't have anything like that. So I went online and actually ordered a naughty nurse outfit. Well the stupid UPS said it was delivered on my porch today, but there isn't a package out there! Makes me mad that I spent the money for nothing. At the same time makes me very embarassed if my neighbors received it. Especially if someone opened the thing. Oh geez!

Risa - They'd better give you your money back! If a neighbor got it you could always tell them it was a halloween costume. :) I think that it's sweet that you were trying to make BD more lively for you two.

Me: We're on CD19 with no O in sight (yet). I've been drinking "Fertili-tea" the last few days and even had grapefruit juice tonight (a big glass). To my pleasant surprise I did have some fertile CM appear this evening, so I jumped on DH. He's being SO GOOD about BD now, I think he needed a few months (this is TTC cycle attempt #4) to get into the swing of things. Now he's very into it! In other news I ended up re-scheduling my pap smear, so I don't have to worry about it this week. ;)

armadillo - sorry who are going through so much right now. I hope they are able to find out what is going on.

Risa - hmm naughty nurse, now that's an idea :p though DH is suddenly being really good about all this!

DelSol - AF has done that to me a couple times as well. Very annoying and it makes your chart difficult. I just recorded it as it was, AF or spotting or nothing.

I'm on CD17 - My OPK was almost a positive last night. I didn;t get anything at all last month when I tried it. I forgot to do it SUnday so I went ahead and marked it as positive since it was only slightly lighter than the control line. hi everyone!

Well, i'm taking back my AF announcement for the time being. TMI - I was getting ready for work in a hurry yesterday (since I got so little sleep  ) wiped a little bit of pink and decided to use a tampon, since starting yesterday we had to go business casual at work and I needed to dress up. When I went to change it, it was only a very little bit of brown gunk. So, I'm changing it to spotting and seeing what happens today. I also discarded my one temp and FF moved my date.

On a dog note: The new lab did better last night...DH fell asleep on the couch for a good chunk of the night though, so that might be why. The biggest problem is integrating the dog with our cat. We're trying to do it "the right way" by keeping them seperate and controlling their interactions until they get used to each other, but that makes our lives a little more of a pain in the neck then if we could just let the dog go wherever. He's very good, but the cat is a loon! If anyone has gone through a cat-dog introduction, let me know what worked for you!!

motray36- I have a 10-month old puppy and two 4-yr old cats. We brought Butch home when he was 12 weeks and the cats hated him. However...over the months, we have let them get to know each other and now one of the cats just stays away when the dog is up and about. The other one plays chase with him around the house and is always antagonizing the dog. It really just depends on the cat's personality. Give it a couple of months for them to get use to each other.

Welcome catlover!!

BTW...I forgot to mention earlier, DH is FINALLY comfortable with the idea of TTC. Of course, we've been TTC for a few months. But now he actually tells other people that we are TTC. Before he would just say "if it happens, it happens". It's so nice to see him finally get a little excited. :):)

Jess, glad to hear that you got your HSG and lap scheduled! Hope it all goes well!!!

Risa, VERY annoying of UPS!! Call and complain, because I think UPS insures all their deliveries under $100 anyway.

Motray, fingers crossed!!!

Now would be close to O time for me, but since the dr. saw polycystic ovaries just last week, I wonder if I will O at all this month??? I guess we can BD for the fun of it and I'll just keep on temping to see what happens.

Welcome cat_loverpq!!

ABirney - If Ovusoft keeps acting up you can get their support to look at your database to see if there is an issue with the preferences. I believe you do that by going to help and clicking on Internet Assistance. They are actually very quick at responding!

Risa - Hope you get a hold of your outfit! That's hilarious!

Hello everyone! I am so excited to join. DH has been putting it off for a few months, but everyone is on board to start trying this cycle. I couldn't be happier. I've been seeing an acupuncturist and she's gotten my cycles down from 40 days to 29 days!!

Me: 27
DH: 31
Married since: 11/29/03
Off BCP since: Mother's Day 2006 :p
TTC since: August 2006
Charting since: June 2006
Known issues/test results: Hashimotos Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Irregular cycles
Chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/f1117
Current status: waiting to O

To answer a couple QOTD's:
Financially ready? I think we are as ready as we are going to be.

BDing with others in the house? With how much I want a little one, I'd probably do it no matter what.

Just a quick drive by, I'm trying SO hard not to obsess. It took everything in my power today to walk by the HPT tests at Target. I don't have any symptoms and my temp dropped today so there's no reason to test. I'm not out yet, but mentally I'm OUT OF IT.

Welcome Brown Eyed Girl!

We've got a lot of testers coming up. I'm hoping BEYOND hope that at least 50% of those will be BFPs!

Risa, that's a damn funny story. Even just calling to talk UPS about could be embarassing. "You don't understand, you delivered my naughty nurse outfit to someone besides the naughty nurse..." I think you might make their day!

Motray, How are your temps??? Looks like you threw in the towel on the 23rd. Give us an update.

That's all for now. I will try to focus on work and not read ANYTHING more about "DPO symptoms".

tealynn, you cracked me up! Yeah that would have been funny. Good luck testing when you do. Maybe wait until Friday so it'll be September. :) It might be a better month for us!

Good news is that I spoke with the store that sent it and they apologized (not sure why since it's not their fault). They're going to file a claim with UPS and resend it. Let's hope this one makes it to me otherwise DH and I will need to move as our neighbors will really think we're kinky. And yes Halloween is coming so I could pass it off as my costume. :)

Welcome BrownEyedGirl, hope your stay is short and sweet.

How did she do that?! I may need to start seeing an acupuncturist. ;) Sounds like we have similar issues with the Hashimoto's and irregular cycles. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you had the thyroid issue?

risa ~ Hope you get your "package" this time! Of all the items to be delivered to your neighbor by mistake... Surely they would see your name on it and not open it though, right?

I've been too busy this summer to stress about TTC, though we have been trying, but now that we're going into fall I thought I'd come back. My birthday was yesterday, and when my mom turned 27 she was already pregnant with me. So I'll definitely be an older mom than she was, which makes me kind of sad. Let's just hope not *too* much older.

Me: Sarah, 27
DH: Ben, 26
Married since: March 1, 2003

TTC since: off and on, seriously started June 2006
Charting since: Dec 2005

I think I O'd 8/22, so I guess that means I'll be testing 09/4 - 9/10

If this month didn't work, next month I'll be pulling out the big guns (grapefruit juice).

I think that the Clomid is actually going to work this month :D I got my first faint OPK today so I hope that means the O is on the way. We are gonna keep on bding until I get a stark white one again...wish us luck.,..

Hope everyone is well...I promise I will try to keep up...:D

cross posted w/ SWH

Work was busy today and then we got hit with a few heavy storms today. Our Internet connection gets wacky when that happens, we just got back online a little while ago from this afternoon. Just wanted to stop in and let you all know I am reading along.

I'll be back on Thursday with shout outs, tomorrow I am in my Baltimore office and won't have my laptop with me.

Me ~ CD 6 for me and no spotting today.

Hi all :)

Well, I'm at CD37. If I keep the CD22 temp, FF gives me a solid line and puts me at 16 DPO. If I discard the CD22 temp, FF takes away my crosshairs entirely because of todays temp. Because of the wedding (late nights, drinking) and the dog (waking up at 4:30 when I temp at 5:30), I havent been able to keep track of my temps for the past few days (Tealynn busted me :o ). I'm on my 3rd day of spotting...I've never spotted pre-AF, and BB's are still sore, which has also never been a pre-AF symptom for me. Grrrrrr - I guess I will wait to see if this spotting turns into AF before I test...what do you guys think??

BrownEyedGirl - Welcome! The acupuncture sounds interesting...my average cycle is 38 days. And PS - I heart Wentworth!

Magrat - Welcome!

armadillo - I'm loving your positive attitude!

risa - I wonder what happened to it??? Crazy!

polkadot - yay for the faint line!! Sending O vibes your way!

melandtim - hope this is an O for you!

No time for s/o's feeling kinda crappy today.

Me - I'm on CD 36 and have a killer headache today. AF did not show up yesterday. I'm actually wanting AF to show up because I know there is no way I can be PG. I just want this cycle OVER with!!! As for Ernesto...it was a very uneventful storm. Which is a good thing. We went through Rita, Katrina, and Wilma last year so this was a nice change. We did get our shutters up at the very last minute and got soaked by one of the rain bands. I'll be creating a list of things that we didn't have that we NEED to have for next time.

Thank you for the warm welcomes. It's good to finally be here. And although you all seem like a great group, I hope my stay will be short :p

I still don't fully understand acupuncture, I just know it works, and has workd for at least a couple of millenia. I told her my situation and what I wanted to work on (fertility) and she focused most of her needle work in helping that area out. It also doesn't hurt that I am sooooo much calmer and happier than before I started it. I'll keep going just for that if nothing else. I was dx w/hashimotos in 2003.

risa That is too funny! Hopefully it will show up unopened!

Sorry I've been so bad at doing s/o's. This thread just moves so fast and it's all I can do to read along and do updates.

CD15 and the bd fest is in full gear. DH has been so great this cycle. He's actually reminding me that we need to BD! I think it's cute.

I called the doctors office yesterday to get my estrogen results. I'm in the normal range with a score of 52. My progestrone was 10.1 so I guess that's all normal. My doctor was out sick so I couldn't talk to her but I spoke to her nurse and she is going to have the doctor call me on Saturday to talk to me about what the next step would be. I tried to call and make an appointment for DH's semen analysis but the doctors office is closed today because of the hurricane.

So that's what going on with me. Good luck to those about to test or trying to catch the egg. Boo to anyone AF showed for.

Good luck any up coming testers

Welcome BrownEyedGirl, Steve's Sweety and Magrat! Let's hope you ladies bring us some good luck and some BFP's! :)

FSUSammy - Glad to hear that you made it through the hurricane alright. TTC is hard enough w/out having to BD around a storm. ;) Let's hope that your next cycle is a lot more uneventful.

cowgirl - Sorry about AF. I just started vaginal temps this cycle, but I'm not sure what to make of them. It seems like I have 2 completely different cycles going on.

Me: Still hanging in there waiting for O. I did some reading on how to increase EWCM and am going to try to drink more water today. I also read that it takes sperm approximately 4-6 hrs after entering our bodies to be "ready" to push through the egg. Interesting eh?

polka ~ good to see the positive attitude, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

motray36 ~ sorry about the spotting, hopefully it's a positive thing. I'm having after AF spotting, never had that before.

Jen ~ so glad to hear DH is on board, love that he reminds you. My DH has been shown the calendar and he knows somewhat what days we need to BD.

Honeygirl ~ interesting about the sperm.

Me ~ CD 7, still not much going on. Just waiting to O and BD. I’m so beat since I was up early, drove to Baltimore, did some work there and drove home.

I was very excited yesterday when I got a close to positive OPK...but it wasnt *quite* as dark as the control line...well tonight when I tested with the OPK the line was so faint you could just see it... :?

I am thinking that maybe I am Oing today...I have had a lot of O pain off and on today and that tonight was open house at school so when I tested with the OPK it was an hour and a half later than all the other test...so maybe I just missed the surge tonight...I am hoping that is it...

polkadot - I love your avatar!!

Welcome Steve's Sweety

cowgirl - sorry AF arrived :(

honeygirl - interesting about the sperm, didn't know that. Water seems to help increase the EWCM. Though then I have to pee constantly :p

Sammy - glad you made it through the storm ok. We are now waiting for it to arrive in MD. They are forecasting tons of rain just to ruin our long weekend.

Me - Not sure what is up with FF today. I cannot put my temp in and I was so looking forward to seeing crosshairs today. So its official I O'd for the 3rd month in a row. I am now 3 dpo so let the FPS begin!!!! I am already having a major increase in salivation. I know its in my head Don't you love how your mind plays games with you :p

Ha! I was just struggling with FF myself. Congrats on 3-in-a-row!!! :)

The FF thing is such a shame because today I had my highest temp ever and I was so excited to put it in. Not that I have any real reason to be excited about it because there's NADA going on in FPS.... but still.

My Chart (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/128004)

I've got to go catch a plane, so no SO's (seriously... how does anyone keep up around here?) But welcome newbies! And (hugs) to those found by AF.

I wanted to pop in and say buh-bye to this August thread on the last day of the month. I have been away on my girls weekend and have been busy since I got back, so I haven't been able to check in.

Apparently FF is still wacked out because I still can't put anything in this morning.

Welcome to all the newby's, sorry for those that AF found, good luck to those that O'd.

As for me, I started drinking grapefruit juice this cycle to see if I could increase my fertile CM. Hopefully it works, because recently I have only been getting only about 1 day's worth. The cycle I got pg, I had a few days of it.

Just a quick flyby post~~~Life is very busy this week but work has been fun. I'm still "Waiting to O" so no news here.

Thanks for the welcome ladies!

Kanga - I remember you too, neat to see you here since last time we were together you were a LIW IIRC!

---------

I have totally convinced myself that I am PG. I had convinced myself of it by 6 dpo, when I had a nice temp spike but technically couldn't have even been pg yet. Then the next day my temp was still up and I thought to myself, "Aha, I knew it!". And then today my temp *dived*. So I was all bummed and everything and then I read about IMPLANTATION DIPS, so now I am pretty convinced again.

Someone talk me out of my madness!

Too depressed for shout outs. Looks like AF will be visiting today. Just in time for the beach. Moving on to cycle #5...I guess I'll be looking into what kind of coverage my health care offers for the "I" word.

Even though it's only been 5 cycles, we were trying for over a year before I started to chart. The fact that I got PG on my first TTC cycle (m/c at 6 weeks) and that my DH has two children, really leads me to believe that it will happen but I'm starting to get those "it will never happen to me" feelings which are such a DOWNER.

I might look into the Acupunture thing also but I HATE needles so I can't imagine that it's going to relax me.

Anyway, glad were moving on to a new month also. Love September, it's my favorite month of the year and the month of my anniversary so maybe it will be a lucky month for all of us.

Have a nice long weekend. Good luck to all our testers!
