decided to pop in here for the first time in AGES! I also can't believe our kiddos are turning 2!! Cole is doing great - talks up a storm! We are having his birthday party in a few weeks and have invited 50 people and that was limiting it to immediate family and very close friends..yikes! Oh well, it will be our first big party in the new house.
snoopy it is so hard to discipline them at this age...we have found time out to be completely useless so far, though it does work for my daycare lady. We mostly just try to remove him from the situation that is causing him to act up and ignore tantrums. It is very trying on the patience, though!
doubler Brady's gotten so big! I think about #2 more and more lately, but a big part of me just doesn't feel ready yet. We don't want them to be too far apart though, so probably in the next 6-8 months we need to make a decision! :)
Congrats to all of you already pregnant with number two, as I can see from your signatures!!

I think discipline is going to be the hardest part of parenting. I now fully understand the "good thing you're cute" comment! Brady looks at me with this little devilish smile like 'yeah, I know I'm not supposed to be doing this...' we haven't tried any time-outs in our house just yet. mostly we just try to be really consistent / firm with telling him no, and I'm not quite sure how it all started, but we've resorted to the 1, 2... 3, and if we get to 3, we just go get him and remove him from the situation and try talking to him. I get that there really is no reasoning with a 2 year old, but... he's actually pretty good about stopping whatever it is he's doing by the time we get to 2. so far, anyway, I know that will all change in due time ;) oh, and he has started walking around saying his first AND last name, which is definitely due to us disciplining him!
and same with tantrums. we pretty much ignore him and I try telling him to let me know when he's done so that we can get on with things
snoopy we're doing the same, a small party with mostly family and a few friends. unfortunately, in my family *small* still equates to about 25 - 30 people. as much as I love it, it can get overwhelming at times.
jengen congrats on the new house!! yeah, even though I'm thinking about #2, I'm really content right now and enjoying life as we know it. Ideally, we'll have another one sometime after Brady turns 3. At least now, if it happened before then, I'd be excited about it as opposed to freaking out, lol!

Good to see this thread a wee bit active! I know most of us are over on LJ though.
Sophie is doing wonderful and is loving being a big sister. She will be two on December 11 and Dalton is now 8 months old!!! My how time flies!
So much is new with us right now and I have no idea where to start. DH is in the Navy and we just got our posting message so in a few short weeks we will be moving from coast to coast. We love living on the West coast and are really going to miss it but we are being posted to Nova Scotia where both of our families live. It will be so nice to be near family again. DH is out to sea right now but when he gets back things will be crazy with trying to prepare for the move and actually moving over Christmas. Luckily, with the military, we don't pack, ship or unpack our things...they do it all for us! Yay! So, with DH being out to sea right now life has been pretty busy with two under two and me doing it all by myself. I'm so lucky that my kids are really easy going and so happy or this would be impossible to do for the six weeks DH is gone.
I still can't believe that our kids are turning two...where has the time gone? And I can't believe that I have an 8 month old as well! And I can't believe that DH is already talking about TTC for #3!?! I'm going to try and hold him off (;)) for as long as I can because I would like to lose the baby weight before TTC again! Silly DH!
Hope all is well with all of you!

Hi to all the November and December Mommies
I have not posted in so long... but today is Julia's second birthday and I felt the need to post and say hello and Happy Birthday to all the two year old toddlers. Wow, I cannot believe it has been two years. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was holding my DD in my arms. Life with a two year old and eight month old is keeping me very busy, but also very happy!
Orion: I wanted to say hello to you, and to let you know if you would ever like an e-mail buddy I am here. I also have an eight month old baby boy and a two year old daughter. My DH and I were just talking about how we cannot believe our DS is already eight months. The days are flying by.
I hope that your move goes well with the kids.
Happy Holidays to everyone!
Take Care
Amy

Hi Amy!
Anytime you want to keep in touch you can e-mail me at jessicaleesimmons@hotmail.com. I won't be on a computer probably for a few weeks as we are leaving on Thursday for our move across the country but would love to keep in touch so we can trade ideas on how to handle a 2 year old and a 9 month old!
This will probably be my last time here for a long while so Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
Jess

Hey gals. I haven't even checked this thread for quite a few months, then I saw there was a semi-recent post and thought I'd read up on what's going on.
Bliss good luck and congrats on TTC #2. Hope you get that BFP soon!
We're expecting a boy in May and couldn't be more excited. Especially DH, who said he won't be outnumbered by girls anymore! Only prob....we've got all these GIRL clothes...hahaha. There's no doubt that friends and family will supply us with gifts of boy clothes though!
Olivia's 2nd bday was a very small, mild celebration. My sister and her boyfriend came to visit, and we made a small square cake and had ice cream, then she opened her gifts. She had a blast though - and i guess that's all that mattered.
