What the f*** is wrong with some people!
MANCHESTER, Conn. -- A Manchester man was taken into custody, accused of trying to kill four kittens because of a disagreement with his girlfriend.
According to police, Erik Rodriguez, 22, threw four kittens out of a Main Street window.
A woman who was visiting the apartment where the event took place told Channel 3 Eyewitness News that the man threw the kittens because he was angry that his girlfriend wouldn't have sex with him.

I bet this a-hole will just get a slap on the wrist, too.

Hmm . . . Let's see. He is an abusive a-hole who forces sex on his girlfriend, then tries to kill her kittens when she says no. How's that for starters?

Truely sick! If he'd do that to her kittens, who knows what he'd do to her.
ETA:
Are the kittens still alive? Are they okay? Poor babies!

Two of the four kittens had to be put to sleep. The other two are receiving oxygen therapy. :(
I REALLY hope this bastard doesn't have kids.
he did more than throw them out the window. :(
sick bastard.
i don't understand why animal abusers don't get stricter penalties. its usually a sign that they abuse people too. they need to be locked up and don't belong in normal society.

Oh God, whats wrong with people!?
There was a similar story where I live in Indiana, but the jerk was driving down the road throwing the kittens out the window of his car!! Why? Because he just didn't want them! Only one of them survived and was adopted by one of the graduate students in my department (and is the sweetest loving kitten).
Sick, sick people!

As far as I'm concerned, that's attempted murder.

?
If you're talking about the kittens, then it's murder, because two of them had to be put to sleep. The other two aren't doing so well either.
What a sick, sick person. Poor babies!

I bet that idiot will get a slap on the wrist because it was a pair of kittens that died. I guess someday we'll read about him beating a person to death or shooting somebody, and near the bottom of the story will be a mention of his past misdemeanor conviction of animal cruelty. One thing I've learned is that when people are capable of abusing animals, they are also capable of abusing their loved ones, and after an animal is hurt/killed, it's only a matter of time before people start getting hurt/killed. Too bad the kittens die in vain, though.

Okay, two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
A few states have already redefined the pet-owner relationship as "guardianship" which will help in abuse and neglect cases (as well as custody disputes). I think it's totally within reason to extend it farther and give human life rights to pets.

I didn't know about the guardianship relationship. Do you know which states have adopted that? I think it's really great. And I agree with you about extending the rights of pets. I can't really even think about what happened to those poor babies without feeling ill.

This is a case where "an eye for an eye" seems appropriate.

One of them is Rhode Island. I will look for the rest, I think I bookmarked the story from a rescue community. IIRC, the movement was spearheaded by IDA (In Defense of Animals).
ETA: Looks like I misspoke; it was mostly cities rather than states. It started in Boulder, CO and spread to approx. 15 other cities thus far, plus RI. "...[T]he campaign's primary objective is to shift the legal status of animals from property to personhood" per the site I have. Some people oppose it for various reasons, but they appear mostly economic.

I almost couldn't bear to click on this thread. Especially because of what's going on right now with the health of one of my own beloved fur-children. This makes me SO sad! What is wrong with people??? What a coward to take out his rage on such defenseless little creatures!

I don't get this either. These people are sick!
