I make beaded jewellery. I made a matching mother/daugther bracelet set that I was going to give as a shower gift...would you like to receive this as a gift???

Here are some on the Internet to give you an idea...
(I made mine with fresh water pearls (white), Swavoski crystals (clear and light pink) and round light pink round stones.....I think it is really pretty!!!)

I would, but I"d like it a lot more for an older daughter, like a 5 year old, not a baby.

Sounds like a cute thing we could wear in family portraits or something. It's a nice idea!

I think it would be cute, but definitely a choking hazard (whether broken or not) :( DD got a little bracelt from my sister, but only wore it once (for her baptism). It's super cute though! :)

I agree that it would be so cute for an older child (4 or 5), but I'd worry about choking in anything 3 or less.

Agree with the previous posters. I'm nervous of choking and only put bracelets on for special occasions. I do think they look so cute though!

Edited to add I love the idea of the bracelet for the mom and would wear one myself...

I also agree with the above posters. I think its better for a child older than a new baby.

WOW I really thought there would be more YES votes. I received a bracelet and necklace for DD and I loved it, that's partly why I thought I this gift. I do realize it could only be worn for special occasions and with supervision.....the shower is tomorrow and I have already spent quite alot of money making the matching bracelets.....so I don't know what to do....:(

i think it's a thoughtful gift and you should give it. :) if i got this as a gift for my baby, i'd just hold on to it until she can wear it.

you can still give it as a gift, maybe meaure it big enough to still fit a toddler. You never know, mom might put it on baby for special occasions adn then keep it for when she's older. There's no harm in giving a gift that can be used when the baby is older!

I like it...I think it's very thoughtful!

If choking is a worry, you could always write a little poem and attach it to the little bracelet that offers to make it bigger as the baby grows. Here's an example of what I mean (I'm no poet mind you....)

Ten tiny fingers, ten tiny toes
One special bracelet, that with her, will grow

A pearl and a crystal will be added each year
As we celebrate having this sweet little one here

I hope you decide to give it to her. I would really be moved by something like that.

Yes, I think it's cute. I would probably include it in a larger gift myself, since the baby won't be able to wear it much or until she is older. If it were me, I'd give a blanket, etc with the bracelets. But yes, I think it's a cute idea.

Well as for putting it with a larger gift, I was putting it with some classic children's board books....I think you can never have too many great books (my dd loves reading and we have an entire children's library at our house...:p )

I think it's a very cute idea. I would really like it, even though the baby would probably only wear it once. And when mom wears hers, she'll be reminded of how tiny the baby was when she wore it too.

My DD got a pearl bracelet with a little cross for her baptism (actually a few days before so she could wear it) and I love the professional photos we got where you can see it on her little wrist. 3 months later, she had outgrown it. Even if its worn once just for pictures, it'll last forever.

Hopefully no one else will be giving the baby bracelets - she really doesn't need more that one. I feel guilty that someone else gave her a small gold bracelet with her name engraved which she hasn't worn yet. It's bigger, so we still have more time.
