I find myself now somewhat obsessed with that show. It might have something to do with me having studied that period of history obsessively for 7 years, but even so -- I don't generally like TV much altogether. M*A*S*H has been my favorite show for years, and I've never found something I like quite as much...until now. I wish it hadn't been cancelled...although I'm glad I got into it after it was on DVD cause now I can watch the shows back to back if I want to :) Man, I'm pathetic!

Anyone else share my love for this show?

Oh, I really loved that show. I looked forward to it every week... I hope they release all of the seasons on DVD, because I think it got better as it went on. I was so crushed when it was cancelled, I moaned about it for weeks.

I watched it every week. I thought it was great because it definitely tied historic events in and showed how they impacted a normal every day family.

It was my very favorite show. I loved everything about it!! I saw JJ is going to be on another series this fall - I forget the name. Has it been released for sure that AD isn't coming back?? :( :(

I loved American Dreams. I love the family, the history, and especially the music. I was so sad when they cancelled it. :( I can't believe the way they ended it too. Will Meg become a hippie flower child? Or will she come home and make amends with her family? I guess it's up to each person to decide for themselves. I really wish they would reconsider and bring it back. A girl can dream can't she? :)

I'm also very sad this show was cancelled. I guess changing the nights maybe didn't keep the ratings as high? I'm not sure, but it was a great show! I loved Sunday night tv (still do I guess) and was sad enough about AD moving, but was super choked when it was cancelled. I heard it on tv that it was cancelled... i think it's true.

I saw the actor that played JJ on 7th Heaven a few times. He played Andrew Nayloss, Lucy's boyfriend for a while. And Brittney Snow (Meg) was in "The Pacifier."

I'll miss that show!

Another one here that will miss AD. :( It was my absolute favorite. I think I cried more during that show than any other series I've ever watched. I'll miss it! :(

I didn't start watching it until this past year because it didn't conflict with something else that was on. I really liked it. I hate to see it taken off the air just to be replaced by "Ultimate Survivor Race: The Sewers of New York."

*sigh* I LOVED this show. It was the one of the few shows that DH and I watched together. I wanted to cry when I heard they weren't bringing it back. :(

Back on that OTHER SITE there was a thread about this, and someone posted that AD's rating were down and they put in on Wed. at 8 opposite LOST to kill it off. Pretty much on purpose.

I'll miss it, too. It at least deserved a proper series finale.

I agree. It deserved a real finale for it's fans. That show was excellent and should have been kept around for a long, long time. It is so hard to find shows that families can watch together. I was so sad when it was cancelled. :(

I loved AD- I had no idea it had been cancelled! :( This is the second show that was cancelled this year that I loved (Joan of Arcadia). Why is it that all the family shows keep getting cancelled? Sigh...

They cancelled three of my favorite shows this season (American Dreams, Joan of Arcadia, and Third Watch). AD was by far my favorite. I think I cried at every single episode. I'm so sad that it's gone, and I really hate that they didn't give us a series finale.

Whatever happened to American Dreams? I know there was a thread about it on the WC, and there was some question whether or not it was going to remain on-air. Did it get cancelled? I hope not, I loved that show!

I'm mad that they couldn't even give it a proper series finale.

I was just thinking of this show the other day. I wish they would do just one more episode to tie up all of the lose ends. It was such a great show!

It was one of my favorite shows as well!! I was so sad to see it go, but last week, I read in my Sunday paper that they are thinking about doing an American Dreams movie to tie up all the loose ends. Apparently, most of the cast have moved on to do other shows/movies, but they are trying to work something out! I hope they do...

That would be so great if they did that! I would love it too if they tell us what happens to each character in the future, leading up to the current year.

Great job, NBC. Cancel "American Dreams" and then premiere "Inconceivable" as your new hit. Good call.
