Does anyone have this, or have you even seen it in person? It's so cheap that I'm drawn in, but at the same time worried it'll fall apart on me because of the price.

I'm on bedrest and can't get out to see it myself, so any thoughts you have on this set are *very* much appreciated.

TIA!

This one?

A friend of mine has the set and she says it is great. I have seen it in person and it looks just as safe as any other crib even though it may not be as expensive. Her second baby is using the set now and she hasn't had any problems.

I also love that it is not too bulky. Our new house is rather small so we didn't want a huge crib that would take up the whole baby's room. We are picking our set up as soon as we move next week.

Also, if it helps, FSIL has this crib:

which is also made by Simplicity. She chose this one over the 3 piece set thinking that the changing table and crib would be sturdier attached to one another like that. It is also a really nice looking crib in person, and you can find small matching dressers for about $60. So all in all you'd be spending about $40 more doing that, but you'd also be saving more room (if that is an issue for you) and getting that added stability.

HTH!

Yeah- That one (the first one). Though we would get the cherry.

Can you tell me what the wood is like? Is it laminate? And do you know what type of bottom the crib has? (flat board, slats, link...)

Thanks! :)

We have one. I'm happy with it so far. The crib is nice, not *great,* but it does it's job and is pretty sturdy. I love the changing table, it's very handy. The piece that I'm not fond of is the dresser. The drawers didn't sit flush on the chest, so we had to file it a bit to get them to open and close smoothly, but it works fine now. The set great for the price though and it won't fall apart on you. :)

eta: It's not laminate, it's real wood. and the bottom of the crib has slats.

We have the set in the natural finish and have been happy with it. We looked at sets of various price ranges and went back to this one because you got a lot more for your money and to be honest, we couldn't see a lot of differnece between this crib and some of the more expensive cribs. All the pieces are made of real wood (except the back of the dresser and the shelves on the changing table) and the crib has slats. All the pieces were easy to assemble.

The best part is that we had budgeted for x amount and we put the savings from buying this set into DD's college fund. When she is older, the $ will be more useful then the expensive crib she slept in for a short time. ;)

Thank you so much, everyone! I think we are leaning toward getting it. :D

Just for the heck of it...

We've got the Simplicity Ellis set in cherry and we get lots of compliments on it. (4-in-1 crib, combo changing tower and dresser) The bottom of our crib is metal criss-crossed bars.
