Stargate Season 9

So who else is ready for Stargate season 9? I sure am after a long hiatus. I am curious as to how the new characters on the show will be. I hope I can picture Ben Browder out of his Farscape role.

I am so excited for Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis tonight!! Whenever I mention these shows to anyone but DH they give me such a blank stare :) Did Richard Dean Andersen completely leave?! I hope not, I just love Col O'Neil!! I am also curious about how all the new characters will play out. Did you see the special they had on about the Friday night line up? It was interesting to see the actors out of character especially T'elk. Happy Watching!

I was stunned at how many changes they've (apparently) made to SG1. I'm hoping the changes will be good. And I'm really hoping Richard Dean Anderson isn't leaving the show completely.

My DH says he read that Richard Dean Anderson wanted to spend more time with his DD and that's why he's only in limited episodes. He doesn't know if that true for this season. Do you know if that special will air again, or will it be moot after the premiers tonight?

I think it might be moot after tonight :) It was about the upcoming season and new characters and I think once the shows air you'll probably see where they may be going. I have my pizza in the oven and my wine is chilling!! I have a half hour left :D I just realized that I'll have to brave the Wraith alone because DH is working :eek: I know it's dorky, but they scare the neck out of me :rolleyes:

Do you mean Claudia Black? I just love her, but I grew to like her watching Farscape with DH. She and Ben had DH and I cracking up this evening.

We just watched both premiers today. I really enjoyed the Atlantis premier and it was cool seeing Mulder & Scully's boss as commander of the Daedelus. I wonder if the Daedelus will stick around?

The SG-1 premier was good. Claudia Black was a lot better this time around. I forgot how good looking Ben Browder was. He did act a bit like his Farscape character with a bit of O'Neill tossed in. I hope Daniel comes around. He didn't seem into it as much.

I enjoyed both, but was a little annoyed at the SG-1 to be continued :rolleyes: As if we haven't waited (since May in my case) to get our fill!! I actually liked the new woman on SG-1. I think she'll add some spice :D I am waiting for Atlantis to reveal the guy who is new, the burly one they keep showing on the previews. I think the Daedelus guy is sticking around as the military commander....

Claudia Black is still annoying me, although I did feel a little bad about what happened to her near the end of this week's episode (I'm afraid to post spoliers). But whenever she smiles, I just want to smack her. Showing your gums and neck tendons when you smile isn't attractive.

Also another to be continued episode???!!! Is the whole season going to be one long to be continued......I need closure on a weekly basis, 2 weeks max :p I just don't have it in me to wait forever!!

Is anyone else disliking the new SG-1 plotline with the Ori? It seems a little heavy handed to me. I'm happy to report, though, that I wasn't as annoyed by Vala this week. :D

I'm liking the changes/additions to Atlantis more than the ones on SG-1. I'm wondering what will happen to Ford. I always liked him. And Dr. McKay was a hoot last night. He's such a wuss. LOL

DH keeps saying the whole Ori thing is a bit of a stretch!! I also like the Atlantis changes as far as storyline a little better...especially the hot runner :p and I usually don't go for men with long hair! I do like the new additions to SG-1, I think they needed some new blood. I am wondering where Samatha Carter is?! I watched the Friday night preview show and she was on it, I don't remember hearing that she wasn't going to be on as much this season? I think both shows were good last week! I do like the way Vala and Daniel interact, this week when she was pouring her heart out, it actually took him a few minutes to realize she was putting him on. I just love Rodney McKay on Atlantis, he cracks me up!!

I loved Friday's Atlantis episode! It was hysterical!

Amanda Tapping is not in the first few episodes because she had a baby. I hope she's back soon.

Sam should be back by episode 6, I think. I just discovered Stargate SG1 and Atlantis last....tax season, so spring? lol. They're my new obsession.

I miss Sam but I like Vala, I just can't believe that they were hyping "She's back!" when she had never left. If RDA is on SG1 at all, it's going to be like he was when he and Mitchell were up in that.......plane thing.

Also, I can't believe that they think people are going to confuse Daniel and Mitchell.

Atlantis is the one I really love. McKay, Shep, Ronon......Not that it's just for the eye candy.

I think Ford will be around for a few episodes, but not as a regular anymore.

I didn't get to watch Last Friday's episodes :( We have them on our DVR (like Tivo, but through our Time Warner cable) and then we packed up and moved our TV to the new house and cable doesn't come until Thursday! I did call the cable company and they assured me the recordings will be on there :o How silly am I?!

Me Too! I love SG-1, but I never got into watching it continuously for some reason :confused: But when I started Atlantis last season I was hooked! We make sure it's recorded if we're not here, but more often than not a Friday night is either take-out or DH's gourmet meals in front of the TV. I love Mckay too which is funny because he isn't really conventionally handsome, but he is so stinking hilarous!! I can't wait to catch up on last week's episodes!!

I hadn't heard about there being any concern over confusion over Daniel and Mitchell?! I hope they don't go and change the casting over this!! Years ago on Lois and Clark they changed the first Jimmy because he looked too good next to Dean Cain and they thought that too many people would think that Jimmy was Superman.
