I got a DVF wrap dress on ebay and I am so excited! It is as gorgeous as I'd hoped. However, I can't figure out how to wrap and tie it. Any other wrap dress I've owned only has a slit on one side bit on this one, both side seams have a slit.
I think the side of the dress that crosses under in the front then goes into the slit on the side (from the inside to the outside, then wraps around the back on the outside, and come to the front to tie. Does the side that crosses on top in front go into the slit from the outside to the inside, then cross my back on the inside of the dress and come out the other slit, to tie in front? That seems weird but it is the only thing I could come up with. TIA!!!

I'm not looking so much for a way to keep the top from gapping open since I use the safety pin trick often. It's just that this dress is "engineered" differently than any other wrap dress or shirt I've worn and I don't know how to "operate" it. The slit on the second side has me totally confused. I know several of you have these dresses. Can someone talk me through it?

Maybe it's just to give you an option as to which side you want on top. From all the pictures I've seen, the outer/top tie goes around the outside.
Sorry I'm not more helpful.

I'm pretty sure my DVF has only one slit -- I would agree with ignutz that it's probably just to give you options.

Oh, I see. That I'm not sure of, I don't (yet!) own a DVF. But someone did ask that question once before (I just re-checked my search) and nobody knew the answer then, either.

If I only use one slit, then the other one is very obvious. Iguess I coudl take it to a tailor and see if they can tack is shut or anythign because it looks a bit like there is a large tear in the dress
since you can clearly see skin through it and when there isn't one of the ties going through it, it doens't look like it is an intentional, functional element.
Anyone who has a DVF wrap, does your's have the two slits? How do you use only one? Do you just ignore the other one?
Here's the dress.

Oh it is so cute!! Is it possible that it's not supposed to have two slits? Did you buy it brand new with tags? I don't have any DVF dresses so I am not sure about the two slits.
From the picture it doesn't look like it needs two slits. I bet that will looks so pretty on you. I love it.
I had the same Q and didn't get ANY answers. Here is what I do and it works:
1. Put the dress on. Thread the ribbon on the left side in through the right hand side slit and around the back exterior
2. Wrap the ribbon on the RHS leftward and around your body
3. I tie the 2 ends together on the LHS
If you figure out a better way LMK!

Does that mean nothing goes through one of the side slits when you do it?
