How do you wax your underarms?

I have tried (very unsuccessfully) to wax my underarms. Usually what happens is I get the wax too thick and it stays gooey and only comes off in little pieces. OUCH!!! OTOH, I'm tired of paying $25 to get them waxed every couple months.

Any tips?

What are you using? I use Nads and don't have a problem.... What I do is apply the wax going upward on the top 1/2 of my underarm (that's the way the hair grows), press on the strip and pull off. I usually have my arm bent to the side - like you have your arms during sit ups - and use that hand to pull the skin as tight as I can before I yank it off. Then just repeat on the lower half, applying the wax going down. You don't need a lot of wax, I kinda scrape as I apply, so I get the right amount.

I use Nads too and pretty much do the same thing as Sue, except I do the whole thing at once.

I used Nads once after the hair had already started to grow back from a pro-wax job and man, not only did it hurt, but I bruised something fierce. So no thanks, I'll pay the pros, or just save my money for laser (someday!)

I've never tried Nads. I thought it was just a gimick... :confused:

I use wax like they use in the salon. My mom is a hairstylist so she gets me professional products at the supply store. I think I put it on too thick though, I haven't figured out a way to get it on thinner because it's so awkward to get on without getting it everywhere.

After what Katy said, I'm a little afraid to try anything else. Maybe I'll just pay the $$$.
