I bought a heated eyelash curler at Sephora (their brand) and am either not doing it right or totally not impressed. Do you have one and love it??? How do you use it to get the best results? Thanks in advance:-)

I don't own a heated one, so I don't have advice on that, but I have a metal one that I hit with the hair dryer for a few seconds before curling. I think it makes the curl a little bit better than non heated. :) Kara

I've had two different brands, one from Shoppers Drugmart, and one from Avon and Im afraid I took both back. I LOVED the Shoppers one at first, but it seemed that after the initial use maybe the third time I used it, it would no longer warm up very much. I changed batteries and it worked again, but then the same thing happened. I didnt want to use a new pair of batteries for each use! The Avon one was much the same, but even a bit worse. I mean its not supposed to get HOT by any means, but I could just tell it wasnt warming much at all. I love the concept, but it just doesnt work. So Im back doing the same thing dragonfly28602 does. I read that tip long ago - and it works! :D

Works great, just give it a moment to cool off a bit.

Another hair dryer user here as well. Seems to give really good results when I remember to do it. :)

That is sad news. I got some good results this morning. I have read a few places that people really like them. For some reason my eyes look too gigantic and I don't like the tell-tale crimp, even from my Shu Umera metal curler, so I thought I would try this for a more gentle curl. I will keep you posted.
(The battery news is a bummer....I hate flying through them. In digital cameras and watches I tend to zap battteries 200% more quickly than most people.)

I have one too, Sephora brand. I've tried it several times and followed the directions exactly, but no luck. :( Is yours the wand-style?

I can't even get the regular ones to work, I couldn't imagine using a heated one.

Isign, when I first started using eyelash curlers, I didn't want to use the metal ones (I had a fear of pinching my eyelids). I used a plastic one for a while that was easy to use--I think it was made by Maybelline. You might want to try a plastic one. Eyelash curlers are hard to get used to, but when they work, they're great!

I, too, use the hair dryer trick on a regular ol' eyelash curler - it works great for me. I noticed the curl lasts much longer. :)

Uh huh. I have been keeping at it and using it every day, determined to make it work. What I have found is that if you let it heat up for about 15 seconds (like the instructions say, imagine that:rolleyes: ) start at the base of the eye lashes and kind of push them upwards against the eyelid that there is actually a really pretty curl that comes out. I kind of like it now. I'm going to stick with it for awhile. But if the battery dies tomorrow I'm throwing it in the river.

Lol! I guess I need to try mine again--with a fresh supply of batteries on hand.
