Okay. So we had the FP Aquarium up in Luke's crib. Once he was able, he started pulling it down All.The.Time. I'd put it back up, he'd tear it back down. I finally gave up and moved it out of his reach. And then he started pulling up and climbed out of his crib one day which completely messed up his sleep. I went out and bought the FP Lullabye Dreams Birdies Soother hoping that would help him soothe himself back to sleep at night as it works so well for the daughter of a friend. This thing is fabulous. HOWEVER, he has started tearing it down as well. I want him to still be able to reach it because he does turn it on to put himself back to sleep in the middle of the night, however, I don't want him to be able to pull it down anymore. Any ideas on how to strap this thing to the crib so that he's unable to pull it down anymore????? TIA!

Use those plastic zip ties to tie it to the crib.

Hmmm...I wonder how I could do that? Loop them through or around the plastic straps that attach it to the crib?

I'm sorry, Leslie, but I am cracking up at the mental picture of this. Do we get a real one?

Wow - he climbed out of the crib!!!

Have you thought about just putting it in the crib unattached? Or teethering it down by the mattress using the zip ties so he can not throw it out?

Leslie, you know what a climber my David has always been. When he started taking the FP aquarium down I used those plastic zip ties and tied it around the poles of the crib. It worked well, but one problem.....he couldn't pull it down anymore so he used it to help him climb up the crib railings better:rolleyes: He would pull up on it and then put his feet on it:eek: Thank goodness it was on the side of the crib that was against the wall. I just gave up and took it completely out after that.

I started thinking about this last night and I realized that using the zip ties around the straps won't work because the straps will just slip through the zip tie. Unless I feed the zip tie through the wholes in the straps? Kay, is that how you did it? And God forbid Luke uses that to climb out of the crib again!

Noel, yeah, it was about a month ago. I posted about it in my journal, but I don't think I ever posted about it over here. We lowered the mattress to the lowest setting and took out the bumpers, so I don't think he can climb out again (right now anyway).

I'm not sure if I can put it down by the mattress because of the style of the crib. I'll have to play with it. Thanks for the suggestion!

Its been awhile, but I think it was through the holes in the strap for the same reason you said..it would just slide down. I don't remember exactly how we did it but we got it on there so it was impossible for him to get off. He then just used it to pull up on and stand on.
