Does anyone do this? Or have experience with a yogurt maker?

Did you just read French Women Don't Get Fat by chance? After reading that, I was interested in getting a machine. However, to me, it's so much easier to simply buy the plain yogurt for $1.99 each week! No hassle.

EuroCuisine Yogurt Maker
Wake up to homemade yogurt and start your day off naturally. The EuroCuisine yogurt maker has seven 6-oz. containers, allowing you to make multiple flavors, catering to your family’s individual favorites. Just add ingredients, and the yogurt maker does the rest. Makes up to 42 ounces. Glass containers are dishwasher safe.
I'll make yogurt once every couple of weeks and I like having the small reusable jars. I'll also like having control of what goes into the yogurt and limiting the sugar.

My family had one growing up and I remember loving homemade yogurt! We usually made plain yogurt and then mixed in homemade jam/jelly to add flavor. It tastes different than what you buy in the store, but in a good way.
I didn't know they still made them; the one my parents have is avacado green, so that should tell you its age. I'm going to have to look for the one that kemaji posted above.
you don't need a special machine to make homemade yogurt. i've never tried it, but I hear it's super easy and tastes SO much better than store bought. You can just google "yogurt recipe" or try this one (http://sidedish.allrecipes.com/az/73468.asp) from allrecipes.com

My grandmother used to make her own yogurt and my mother has the recipe. I recall it involved putting the liquid into glass cups in the oven overnight and voila - yogurt. Honestly, I was hoping the machine would just let me pour the stuff in there and then wake up with the finished product - like a bread machine! But, it sounds like I am going to have to cook something somewhere.
Although I do like the idea of those little glass jars with lids........
