Both my kids have a diaper rash from being on antibiotics. They are not big rashes, but pretty persistent. I know there is a concoction out there. I have been using Desitin. Any suggestions-Thanks.

Triple Paste Ointment!!! I usually have to buy it at a drug store (Walgreens, Longs) but it is the best. It is expensive but clears rashes up so quickly.

My DD just recently got over a diaper rash after being on antibiotics, and it was actually yeast. My Ped recommended OTC Lotrimin, and it cleared right up.

We were/are a triple paste family for diaper rash with aquaphor for a basic barrer, though with DS mostly potty trained we don't use much anymore, heck we did not use much to begin with. But if the rash is associated with the antibotic it might be yeast as someone else suggested. My sister needed a perscription cream to clear up my nieces yeast infection, so you might want to ask your ped about that.

My DD gets frequent diaper rashes. We have found that the magic potion for her is Nystatin Cream (Rx), with a layer of 40% zinc oxide cream, and a layer of A&D over that. We do this 3 times daily. Giving them air time without a diaper is also VERY good at clearing up a diaper rash.

Another vote for triple paste. It is the only stuff that works for us.

That would be a yeast rash and you'll want to use lotrimin (clomitrazole) 2-3 times per day and a regular cream the rest of the time. www.askdrsears.com has a great section on diaper rash :).
