If you or anyone you know has a bridal gown or bridesmaid gowns on order from a Discount Bridal Service (DBS) dealer you need to check on the status of your gowns ASAP!
DBS is filing for bankruptcy on July 18. They have said the following about orders:
Before the filing, the company will be shipping out some bridal gowns to brides whose weddings are close. Hare told us these goods will be “comparable” to what was ordered, but may not be exactly what was ordered.
The attorney also told us the company was returning payments made for orders after June 15 (checks will be returned; credit cards were not processed after June 15). These checks will go out this week. NOTE: Orders and payments received BEFORE June 15 will not be refunded but become part of the bankruptcy.
From another email that was sent last night:
We have attempted to fill all orders in house for bridal gowns with the correct size, color and comparable value from our inventory. We know some brides will be receiving gowns they may not choose to wear but we are trying to make an attempt to diminish their losses...<snip>...In terms of bridesmaid's orders, there's nothing we can do to fulfill these obligations. We have supplied each customer with the order number and necessary information to be able to call the manufacturers directly.
You may still be able to get your gowns but you better get moving! hope this helps someone!
