Anyone know of a website that is free and allows you to input your body measurements in addition/instead of just weight?
TIA!

Like this (http://www.linear-software.com/online.html)?
There was another one I used to use but I don't remember the URL. Maybe someone else will post it!

Yes! Thank you Lizzy! Anyone know of a site that allows you to track it, like a journal?

www.mybodycomp.com is what I use. The body fat % it yields you is off, but it's at least useful for trending.

Seb's Kitty Thank you! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Yes, I agree, the body fat % is off a bit---says I'm severly overweight at 5'5" & 142 lbs. Or maybe I am and in denial! ;)
Thanks again, it's perfect!

sparkpeople.com has a nice measurement feature and a WHOLE lot more.

I checked those both out, thanks!
Seb's Kitty, How does mybodycomp calculate body fat with those measurements? Which way do you think it's off? I'm 5'5", 135 lbs. and 30" waist. It said I have 24% body fat, but my scale says I have 30%. I can't figure out this body fat thing--what's healthy, and what mine actually is. Thanks!
Sparkpeople gave me BMI, which seemed good, but I've heard that BMI isn't always an accurate measure of health.
Anyone care to weigh in on body fat vs. BMI? ha ha.

I think it's the same just different terms. Did you look up the two terms on the internet to see what their definitions are?

That's the one I use as well. I like being able to compare two side by side over time.

Bucktown - the color indicator strips for BF and BMI are off. It says I'm in 'athelete'/underweight range, but I'm not. The ranges are comparable to what I've seen elsewhere, so I just look at my fat % or BMI and see what range the number is in.
J*east - I think the reading is a little high - not grossly off, just a little high. I believe it takes all of your measurements and has some sort of calculator which turns those into a rough volume of a person (like 100 cubic inches). They then compare that to your weight/mass to yield a body fat percentage - I would hope this percentage yield is based on an actual sample, but I don't know.
Body fat and MI are two different measurements. I think they're great to use in coordination with each other. Body fat is the percentage of your body weight/mass that is made up of fat. The remainder is muscle, bones, water, guts, etc... It is an important health indicator because over- or under-fat individuals are prone to health problems.
BMI is a ratio of your height to your weight. It's pretty good indicator of someone being underweight or grossly overweight and can be a wake-up call for some. However, it's a bad measure for individuals with a large amount of muscle mass (athletes/fitness competitors)
I like that mybodycomp has the comparison feature too. It's really nice to do my current measurement compared to my first one and see how far I've come. :)

Thanks, Seb's Kitty! I appreciate your answering my questions. I think I'm in reasonable shape, so I'm not worried, but I was curious, and you seem to know a lot about all things fitness. So... thanks! :)
