How soon after you get EWCM do you O? I have heard all sorts of answers on this and read TCOYF and still am not sure!

Also, is it best to BD the day before EWCM? Day of EWCM? After EWCM (how many days?)?

THANKS!

EWCM usually apprears 2 -3 days prior to ovulation. It is best to BD when you have EWCM.

Women can have different EWCM patterns prior to ovulation, but any given woman usually has a consistent pattern from month to month - if you've got prior charts, they can come in really handy. I remember reading in TCOYF that the duration of EWCM prior to ovulation is loosely related to age, women in their early 20's can have four or five days of EWCM, women in their late 30's may have only one day.

The best day to BD, if memory serves (been a while since I had periods to chart!) is your personal peak day, which is the day you have the most EWCM. For me this was the day before ovulation. But as taraw says, any day you've got EWCM is a good day to BD, generally speaking more BDing = higher chances of conception.

Shameless bump of myself in the hopes of getting more input!

Parrot, the two posts above basically sum it all up! Your CM gets progressively more fertile, the closer to O you get. EWCM is the best & most fertile CM. When it dries up you've most likely ovulated. (The only way to confirm that is by charting or by the Dr, though, so always remember to BD when you see fertile CM.)

That's the basic pattern, although like BTB said, it can vary person to person. If you're charting, it may help to post your chart & get some opinions about what your pattern is, because charting is the only thing that's going to help you figure this out more than what's already been explained. If you're not charting, you could try OPKs and/or checking your CP, that might give you more info.

Look in the TCOYF index under "peak day" and reread that section, it should clear it up better for you.
