So my doctor just called me bc I have been having problems with Bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections for about 6 months now. I get them like twice a month. It sucks. And we can't figure out why.

So he ran some tests...all came back negative for std's (which I already knew), it states my vagina had a "normal" amount of good bacteria, no yeasts and no BV. BUT came back positive for Group B Strep (GBS) that I'm a carrier.

Does anyone know anything about GBS? I know pregnant women get tested for it but I'm not pregnant. Everything I have read says, "May not show symptoms if you are a carrier" etc... But it doesnt state what your symptoms WOULD be IF there are symptoms.

Does anyone know? I keep having all these problems with infections and stuff and no one knows why. My doctor told me to use this new stuff called RepHresh (it's suuposed to balance out your pH in your vagina to prevent future infections) and I am starting when I get off my period.

It's so frustrating!!!

Any advice or knowledge you all can give me??? Could my symptoms be caused my the GBS? :(

ETA--I was diagnosed with GBS when I was about 12 bc I was molested. Had no ides what it was but I was put on meds. Thats all I remember. I've never been told about it since then.

This is a very helpful site-- hope you have a pop up blocker though! :)
GBS+ (http://www.angelfire.com/ca/gbstrep/)

I see gbs alot in pregnant women's L&D charts. I think it's a fairly common issue.

Yeah it explained alot in layman's terms but seems to be geared more towards pregnancy. I have tons of medical references but sometimes its hard to translate them into everyday sentences. I was just on the site and it seems fine.
