My husband and I are a songwriting/performing/producing team called Red Letter. Recently we had a fantastic opportunity to do an all day rehearsal and performance with our band at this amazing facility for a new company called rehearsals.com. This week they made one of our songs "You Don't Change" available to view - at last! I wanted to share the link with you all and spread the word, as they are keeping track of which bands get the most action, and...if you have a chance to view it, I'd appreciate it so much!

This filming was one of the most awesome experiences of my musical life. We were left alone in this huge room with just a sound man, and they recorded the entire day of us rehearsing, goofing around and ultimately performing. They had a million little invisible microphones and cameras positioned everywhere - I'd totally forget that a dozen people were watching us from another room, and then suddenly I'd remember and clam up for a second and hope I wasn't making a fool of myself. It was exhausting, thrilling, educational and potentially, hopefully transformative for our careers. Thanks so much if you do get a chance to watch it!

On a whim we auditioned for a music competition show yesterday called "Star Tomorrow"...and we made it to the FINALS!!!!!!!!!

We're going to be on their premiere episode on NBC on July 31st. And then the show moves to the internet where we will continue to perform for YOU...the voting audience.

We auditioned for David Foster (he's the premiere pop producer of our time) and Travis Barker (of Blink 182) yesterday and it was so fun! David got up and jammed with us on piano and they asked us to perform bits of 3 songs...then lavished us with praise. It was so cool! I was quite nervous and my voice was shaky, but I guess we pulled it off. :p

I'm really going to need your support now girlfriends. We're gonna need votes out the wazoo. :D The winner gets a record deal! I'll come post all the details as they unfold...

Tonight's the night!! "Star Tomorrow" will be on NBC and I'm pretty positive they'll show us auditioning. We're called Red Letter, and it's just me and Frank (my husband). I'm wearing a black tank top with lace straps and jeans and I'm super pale -- David Foster got up and jammed with us on a song by Joan Osbourne called "One of Us". I'm hoping they'll show that! He also took me aside and talked to me privately.

Even if you don't see the show or we're only on briefly -- you can still vote for us on the website. At some point they will have Red Letter interviews, performances and rehearsal stuff available to view online at www.nbc.com/startomorrow. I'll come back and post voting instructions after the show.

We did it guys!! We made it to Round 2 of Star Tomorrow!!!

I cannot thank you enough for all your kind support. Not only has it lifted my spirits and kept them raised, but it's added up to a big "win" for us. Man, I am so grateful to you!

For any new readers, here's a little summary and update of this thread:

In July, my band Red Letter was one of 92 bands chosen by David Foster (a bigtime grammy winning producer), out of thousands of bands and artists to be featured performers in NBC's music competition "Star Tomorrow". Since then a different batch of those bands competes every week online in head-to-head competitions in order to advance to the next round. Online viewers vote to determine who advances - just like American Idol - it's all in the people's hands. The winner of the competition receives a major label deal with Warner Brothers Records and David Foster himself will produce.

We need your votes to make it happen!

Y'all came through bigtime in Round 1 -- thank you so much! The 92 bands got reduced to 46 and we're still in there. But this round is much harder! If the comments left on the Star Tomorrow page are any indication of votes received, our competitor has some serious legions of devoted fans and we're gonna need you to show up big time! BIG TIME! We have until September 11th to bring home the votes.

* There might be more TV shows. Apparently they don't know yet!

* The next round is the semi-finals and we're in it! It will start on September 25th and will go for 2 weeks. A total of 25 bands will compete in the semi-finals.

After all kinds of technical problems, it looks like it's now safe to cast your vote for Red Letter in the Sem-Finals on the Star Tomorrow site. There are only 14 weeks in the competition and we're at Week 10 now...so just a few more rounds to the very top. We really, really, really need your vote now! :) :)

Our current song up in the competition is "You Don't Change" - one of our personal faves. Thankfully we’re no longer paired in head-to-head competitions. Now, you just vote for us and not against someone else! And the 6 bands with the most votes at the end of the week move on to the next round. I'm exhausted. Whew. I've literally been putting flyers on the cars in my neighborhood - basically campaigning door to door. This is supposed to be the MUSIC business, not politics! :)

Hello my friends,

Well, our run on Star Tomorrow has come to an end. We made it to the Top 10, which was fantastic and wonderful. Last night we got the news that we've been eliminated and after a moment of sadness, I'm actually feeling so relieved! It's been a ton of work and focused energy, all of which was worthwhile, but quite strenuous and well, stressful. So, I woke up this morning (it happens to be my birthday) feeling like I have a new lease on life. And, lots of fun presents to open. :D

Thank you girls so, so, so much for your encouragement and enthusiasm and support. I will carry that wonderful energy with me forever. You guys are the best.
