Hi! I am currently living in New Hampshire, but my DH has an interview for a corporate position within his company in GA. If he gets it, we will be living in a suburb of ATL. I was just wondering if anyone could tell how they liked it, are there things to do geared towards families? I've noticed a lot of apartments have alarm systems... are there places with lower crime rates than others around that area? Any and all information would be gladly appreciated! Thank you~

Hi! I live in a suburb north of Atlanta. I love it. :) To answer your questions, there are tons of things for families to do. There are many parks, landmarks, and cultural things to do. Crime here is not much different than crime in any other big city.

Hi - I live in a suburb of Atlanta. Depending on which burb you live in will depend on what there is to do. But, rest assured, all the burbs have tons of family things, parks, couple things, dining, art, culture, etc. Atlanta has so many parks, you'll love it. I love it here! I'm from Florida and miss the ocean, but love Atlanta so much that I don't know if I could ever move back.
As far as apartments with alarms ... that is not really an indication of crime. You are probably looking at more upper end apartments and most have alarms as this is considered a perk, an amenity that people just want. Crime really isn't that bad in Atl, especially in the burbs. I have a monitored alarm in my house, which is totally unnecessary. I just like having it!
Good luck!
