Welcome, JodyLovesScotty! I know I already said it in the other thread. Congratulations!
Does anyone have any symptom's yet?
My symptoms have been very mild and coming and going (here one day, gone the next, back the next day, etc). It has had me worrying. But I've read it is normal. I'm fully expecting morning sickness to hit me any day now (my mom and sister both had it for their pregnancies). So far I've just had some queasiness when I'm hungry, sore BBs, and I get weepy very easily.
Has anyone heard that lullaby song on the new Dixie Chicks album? It makes me cry everytime I hear it.

Question to you all about EDD - if you go off my last AF start date, I'm 5 weeks+ pg, but I didn't O until CD 21, so if you go off my ovulation, I'm 4week+ pg. I was going off my O date, but my OB is going off my AF date to schedule my first appt - 10 weeks. Any thoughts???
I'm definitely feeling the beginning of symptoms - I've been very "floaty" and a little dizzy, and I'm way tired. My stomach has just been funny - I haven't gotten sick, but it's definitely turned over a couple times when I've caught a whiff of something that smells wierd or bad.
We've told our families & we each told our best friend. Other than that, we're planning to hold out until we get through teh first trimester...but it's so hard to wait!!! :)

Thank you all for the congrats:)
And a huge congrats to you to Elenna and Phillytiger!
The only symptom I have is really sore BB's and nipples. Other than that I have absolutely nothing, which I am thankful for. I hope that I am one of the few that miss out on m/s. Oh and I am with you Elenna that I have been very weepy as well. I watched "Save the Last Dance" on Friday and I cried my eyes out.
I just called the doctor and I got my first appointment! It is on June 26th! I will be almost 7 weeks.

Congrats on the February Mommies from an August 06 Mommy:
phillytiger- I too Oed on Day 21. According to Fertility Friend my EDD is August 8th. I had been advised to lie to my doctor about my last period, but I didn't, so they have my EDD as July 31st. I kept telling the doctors I Oed on Day 21, but they won't change the due date unless the ultrasound tells them too and my ultrasounds had her measuring at August 2nd. While in August I may be loving the fact that they won't let me go past August 14th (while to me August 22nd would be overdue) I was very nervous early on, especially around age of viability, because if I had gone into labor at 25 weeks according to the doctors, I would have known I was only at 24 weeks.

Any other children: Allison Grace, 6/17/05. With us for 40 minutes.
ETA: First appt. 6/14
Ok, I was going to wait a few weeks to join up over here, but I couldn't resist. Esp. since the current conversation pertains to me too. I didn't O until around CD 45, and my cycles are always super-irregular and long. That makes the difference in EDD of like, 30 days. I'm going to call my dr shortly, and just tell them my LMP, so they can get me in soon. Then when I see the Dr, I'll bring my chart and hopefully she'll agree with it.
As for symptoms, not a whole lot. My BBs are quite tender, and I'm really tired, but that may just be because I've been too excited to sleep the past few days.
Anyway, I am really excited to share this ride with all of you. :)
Oh, one more thing. I feel like I can't bring myself to stop temping! It's just become such a habbit, and besides, I like seeing the high temp pop up. And I'm only like 16 DPO. But I still feel silly. :o

QOTD I have not really had too many symptoms yet. A little constipation, unfortunately -- I hope that's not TMI. I had pretty bad morning sickness when I was pregnant with my daughter and I am hoping not to have it this time around, but we will see!
My first doctor's appointment is June 23. I'm a little sad because my GYN, who delivered my daughter, is not doing OB any more, so I will have to see one of the other doctors in the practice for my pregnancy.

Congrats Sebski!!!
I haven't had backache, but swear my exhaustion is growing exponentially - not necessarily sleepy per se, but just NO energy and everything feels like a big effort. My dizziness seems better today...I hope so...yesterday morning it was really bad. Knowing how rampant m/s runs in my family, I'm enjoying every morning I wake up & can stand the thought of food :D Oooh...speaking of which, sense of smell is definitely heightened - I walked into DH's grandparents house the other day & told her how great lunch smelled - she looked at me like I was crazy, noone else could smell it at all!

So true. There is no one like my j/a/s '03 buddies. :)
Em, thanks for posting that link. Funny, my DH subscribes to consumer reports and we just read that on Sunday night. I am kind of freaked, because I have probably had the equivalent of 3 cans of white tuna so far in this pregnancy. Granted, I stayed within the guidelines of no more than one can a week (most weeks I have had none obviously) but now with those new guidelines, I am wondering if I have already done damage.
It'd be nice if they could get their facts straight on something so important.

Has anyone told family/friends/work yet?
I told my sister right after the first beta. She's had multiple losses and would be very understanding if anything were to happen.
Then I told my brother. I called to ask them a question regarding visiting them this summer. During the conversation my brother asked if I was pregnant and I couldn't lie to him.:o
Today, I sent out an email to both my siblings to touch base. I mentioned something about symptoms in it. My sister sent back a response like "That's how you're telling Steven??!!". OOps..:p I'd forgotten to tell her I'd already told him.
I'm not planning on telling anyone else until after the u/s. I think DH wants to wait until after the first trimester to tell his parents.

LDS Angel 19

Who we've told: Well, I told my LJ/CC friends immediatly, I had to see if I was crazy or if anyone else could even see that second line. No one else knows yet though. DH is dying to tell his friends at work (no idea why) but I really want to tell our families first. We'll probably tell both of our families when we see them over 4th of July weekend. Still early, but part of me thinks the sooner the better.
jodylovesscotty
06-06-2006, 04:25 PM
Who we've told: DH told his best friend and I told my cousin who is my best friend and I only told her because she was harrasing me about not drinking last weekend. And of course I told LJ/CC friends. We are going to tell our parents on Father's Day. At first I didn't want to tell anyone until after our doctor's appointment, but the more we thought about it we would want people around if something happened.
YES, I am starting to wonder who our mysterious threadmistress is as well.

For those of who are wondering who I am, this positve test caught us off guard and surprised us very much (only off BC for a week if that long). We experienced a miscarriage in Feb. 2006 and that makes even more cautious.
If you want to know my identity, please send a PM to the group ID and I will tell you who I am. I just want to keep our little secret to ourselves for a few more days (I go in a couple of days for my intake appointment and will have it confirmed then). After that I'll put my username in.
Hope you all understand. We haven't told anyone about the baby except my doctor. Not even my journal buddies or the group thread that I belong to for DD's birth. It's really hard not to post about certain things because I really do want to talk about it and what I'm dealing with.

Welcome to the new Feb 07 mommies-to-be! Threadmistress, we all totally understand your position and you can reveal yourself when you are ready.
jodylovesscotty, Zoe is a terrific name. I don't know if you know this, but it means "life" in Greek, which I think is really nice.
Thanks to my other JAS 03 pals, tinkerbelljenny and LyLMyssChaos[B] for coming to congratulate me!
[B]Who we've told: We were so good when I was pregnant with Zoe and waited until 12 weeks to tell everyone except our parents. This time, it's been harder to resist telling people. DH and I have told our parents and our siblings. I told Zoe's nanny because I see her everyday and she would probably figure it out. Also, more people knew we were TTC this time around, so those people get curious. When I didn't have wine at my book club last week, the other ladies in the club, who knew I was TTC, totally busted me! And, of course, I told my LJ friends right away! So, quite a lot of people know, actually.

It looks like we could have a lot of Zoe's out there. It has been one of my favorite names forever and my husband likes it too. If we have a girl- that is definitely our name! Good choice Mom to Zoe!
Well, I wanted to be so good and wait until 12 weeks before we let the cat out of the bag, aside from our parents and my sisters, but we went down to Galveston this past weekend for the sandcastle competition and while I was sleeping in the hotel my husband, who is so excited he can't hardly stand it, told everyone! I was furious at first, but oh well. I have been praying like crazy that the baby is okay because I don't know how I would face all those people if something happened. I am glad he is so excited, but I wish he could be quiet about it...
So, quite a few people know, but fortunately for me, no one at my office knows. I think I will wait to tell them until the last possible minute!

Okay ladies, I've come out of the dark. I'm the mysterious threadmistress. Congratulations to all of you. We suffered a miscarriage in Feb. 2006 and even though we weren't trying it deeply affected me. We were quite surprised by this pregnancy as I'd just gone of the pills not more than 2 wks ago (and no, they weren't the mini pill).
I have an appt with the nurse in a couple of days to do the blood work and fill out papers. I will see the doctor next week. I have an early appt due to the fact that I have a thyroid problem and my levels need to be followed closely. I was also told that it would mean that I'd be more closely followed with subsequent pregnancies. It was discovered in the months after my DD was born.
I'm really hoping that m/s this time around. I had HG when I was pregnant with DD and I have already had some nausea and almost throwing up this time. I don't know what I'll do if I have it as bad this time as I had with DD. I wasn't able to hardly function and was on several different meds.
Who Have We Told ~ Not many people. With DD we waited to tell everyone until I was in the second trimester (we told in our Christmas letters). We did tell immediate family after we found out. This time we haven't told anyone but a couple of people. I think we will tell immediate family but I'm not sure when. DD's first birthday is coming up and DH thought about telling people then but some of them I'd rather not know it just yet. And I also feel that it's DD's day and I don't want to take anything away from her or her party.

Congratulations, USAFwife!:) Quite a shock to get pregnant while on the pill. Will you have an ultrasound while at your appointment to try to date the pregnancy?
usafwife
06-07-2006, 04:21 PM
Elenna ~ Thank you. Yes, it was quite a shock since pretty much everyone told us to go off of them and it would take around 3 months for things to get back to normal. Guess that wasn't the case for us.
I'm pretty sure that I'll have an u/s because I'm not sure of when I did get pregnant and therefore a due date is hard to establish. I'll ask at my appt with the nurse later this week to be sure.
I also have another problem because where we live only has one OB and he is retiring in a few months. He isn't taking any new patients that won't deliver by the time he retires. (I'm anxiously awaiting his retirement because I've never been able to stomach him. I wouldn't go there when I was pregnant with DD and was overjoyed when we got a new OB. Unfortunately he left last year to be a professor.) We have to drive a good distance to go to the doctor I will be seeing now. We will probably transfer to the new doctor once we know when they will be coming. Hopefully that won't be a problem.

Congratulations usafwife! Your baby girl is precious! I wish we hadn't let so many people know right away, but I guess the excitement just overwhelmed us.
Thankfully I am not having m/s yet, but my mother was sick every day for 9 months with me and my MIL was the same with my DH- I think I might be doomed!
I am feeling bloated, nasty and absolutely exhausted, but other than that- I feel great!
I am so excited to hear about all of our mommy adventures!
Oh- I have to ask what does "BFP" stand for? sorry for my ignorance!
Elenna
06-07-2006, 04:38 PM
Bomberra: No problem. We all had to learn this at one point. BFP stands for "Big Fat Positive" on a home pregnancy test.
usafwife
06-07-2006, 04:51 PM
bombera ~ Thank you. Yes, DD is the light of my life. I still can't believe that a year ago right now I was wondering what day she would pick to arrive. As it turns out she picked my grandfather's birthday and DH's grandparents' wedding anniversary as the day to be born. We couldn't have been happier. Earlier I hoped that she would arrive on Father's Day and give us something to be joyful about that day (DH had just lost his dad about a month before).
And Elenna is right, BFP stands for big fat positive. In other words the day you got your positive pregnancy test.

Yay! usawife, I'm glad you outted yourself.
One more week 'till my first appointment! I think I forgot to mention. It's June 14th. I feel kind of bad, I had to kind of play the loss card in order for the stupid receptionist to let me come in this early. But I'm glad I did, because I really want to get in and just talk to the dr. about my care this time around. And I already had a tiny bit of redish pink spotting last night, which totally freaked me out. But its gone, and everthing else is fine, so I'm trying to chill.
bombera77
06-07-2006, 05:22 PM
Thanks everyone!
My BFP was 5-29-06
LDS Angel, I wouldn't worry about the "loss card" just for peace of mind you need to get in and see the dr.
When I called for my first appt. they told me they wouldn't see me until 8-12 weeks. 12 weeks! For crying out loud I could be drinking, smoking and eating tuna galore before they gave me a word of guidance. Good thing most people aren't that stupid, but seriously, 12 weeks! I thought the first trimester was critical for the growth of the baby?
Anyway, that might be for people with 8 kids or something that don't want to come in. I get to go in at 8 weeks, so I guess I shouldn't be griping so much!

bombera - my first appt isn't until 10 weeks!!! I couldn't believe it...but I figure I'll just call them anytime I'm curious about something. I called yesterday to see if they had a list of foods that I should or shouldn't eat, and they said "eat what you normally do" - WHAT?!?!?! How about, no raw fish, no tuna, as little caffeine as you can...etc. Oh well! So I'm anxiously awaiting...4 weeks from tomorrow!
I've had a little bit of spotting, but am trying to just stay cool unless it really turns to bleeding. A good friend of mine who's a physician's assistant told me some women spot every day of their first trimester, so not to worry unless it's bleeding.
Have a good day ladies!

jodylovesscotty ~ I'm so sorry.
LDS ~ I wouldn't worry about using the loss of your daughter to get in sooner. I too, have had some spotting. I had it last time with my DD but I was 8 wks along, not 5 wks. Hopefully they will be able to tell me something more when I go today to see the nurse.
phillytiger ~ I've found that most OBs seem to have their own list as to what is okay to eat, what's okay to take, etc. My previous OB said it was fine for me to drink diet pop/soda and to stay away from regular pop/soda because of the sugar. Other ladies OBs in the group thread didn't want them drinking any diet pop/soda. I also told to limit my intake of fish because of the mercury levels. It isn't something that I regularly eat (DH isn't a big fish eater and we usually just eat tuna packed in water).
___________________________________________
I'm taking it easy today and trying not to worry (easier said then done). I'm having some spotting (not bright red but kind of brownish in color. Basically it is the same color as what I had with my DD but I was 8 wks along, not at 5 wks. I don't have any cramping so I'm thinking that is a good thing. That's what the other nurse said earlier. She said it could be implantation bleeding/spotting but I'd think it would have already implanted by now.

usafwife: I hope the spotting stops. I know brown is supposed to be ok, but it is still really disconcerting to see it. I had brown/tan spotting starting the night before my BFP. It stopped 4 days later.
Nothing new with me either. Symptoms still coming and going. I just wish they'd turn on and stay on (just for reassurance).

Elenna happy six weeks to you too. I am interested to see if my Dr. will let me keep this due date. His would only be off by 2 or 3 days, but in my mind, this will always be my due date!
My symptoms are mild and I am hoping they stay that way! Just some seriously sore BB that feel like they are getting bigger every day (this is not considered a good thing!). I am afraid I am going to have to go get new bras before the end of this trimester. Yikes!
I haven't had any spotting, just some cramping. I think I will stay worried about it until I get to the 12 weeks mark. Even then I know it is not a done deal, but I think I will breathe a bit easier.
It is exciting to hear about everyone's progress!

I may make a Target run tonight to get a couple bras a size up...WOW! And still SO sore...oy! DH looked at me in one of my sweaters last night and said "yes, you are DEFINITELY pregnant" :D

I was feeling so good about not being nauseated, but then this morning I was was on the train going to work as I usually am, and I was minding my own business reading my magazine and all of a sudden I thought I was going to have to get off the train! Not fun. I put the mag down and took deep breaths trying to talk myself out of it. I thought for sure it was just a strange bout of train-sickness from reading (although I've never had a problem) but here I am at my desk, fighting back the urge to run to the BR. Oh well, I knew the honeymoon wouldn't last forever!
I just hate throwing up. The bad part is, I know I would feel better if I did, but I just can't bring myself to do it...

I've got the growing bbs too. Certainly not the greatest thing, I think they're big enough already! I put on a bra yesterday that I havn't worn in a few weeks and it just didn't fit right.
I had my first twinge of nausea this morning too. I just about gagged up my prenatal vitamin. Joy. I remember last time it got really hard to take it for a good 8 weeks or so. I think this time I may look for a diffrent brand.

Thanks Bombera.
My BB soreness comes and goes. They don't seem to be growing, yet, either. They are a bit more firmer, but that's it.

The appointment with the nurse went good. Said my due date was 2/9 instead of 2/8 but I'm leaving it at 2/8 until we see the doctor. I had 6 or 7 vials of blood drawn. We do plan on asking next wk if it's okay to transfer to an OB in our town once we finally get one (the one we have is retiring in a couple of months and isn't accepting anyone that isn't going to deliver by that time and I definitely won't have delivered by then). The thought of having to drive 40 miles when I'm in labor doesn't sound very fun to me. Nor does having to have our families drive that far just to see us in the hospital. Plus we already know the ones who work L&D here (and I've known most of them since I was growing up...one of the side benefits of having a parent who works at the hospital, you get to know everyone and everyone knows you. It was so nice last time because I knew the CRNA who put in my epidural. Kind of a neat side note was that he was there the night I was born as well.).
Morning Sickness ~ Well, it's already started for me as well. I haven't thrown up yet but I've gotten close. Looks like I will definitely be asking about meds next week. Right now I'm using the combination that my previous OB had me take for a while. I seriously hope it doesn't get as bad as it did with DD this time. Otherwise we will have to find a place to take DD while DH is at work.
And ladies, don't just expect it to happen in the morning. Whoever called it morning sickness definitely never experienced it. Mine lasted morning, noon, and night last time.
Sorry for everyone else who is also suffering from m/s. It definitely isn't any fun. Trust me. But I was told last time that m/s was a good thing. It meant that the possibility that you would miscarry is not as high if you have m/s.
I still have the spotting but it's not as much as it was yesterday. The nurse said that it was probably implantation bleeding leftover. She said as long as I wasn't having cramping that it should be just fine. She said that usually they say brown blood is okay, and that cramping without bleeding is okay. It's when you have both of them together that you need to worry.

Sebski , Jodylovesscotty, Hew?B - Oh no, I'm so sorry.... A big big hug!!! :(
Usafwife – Congrats on finally coming out… Sorry I’ve been MIA lately.. I’ll explain more later.
I went to my first appointment on Wednesday… on my way to the Dr. I was in a car accident. Not bad, the lady just sideswiped my truck. UGH, so I started to freak out because of the same cycle as my last MC. Well BFP from the Dr.. Yeah… He suspected my EDD as 1/31/07. They he wanted me to come in on Thursday for an ultrasound and a 1 hour Glucose test. So on Thursday, not only did I have to deal with the car accident.. my poor truck.. (I’m fine) but now I have to miss work again for the US. I’m only 3 weeks preg. What are they going to see? So I go in.. However the tech. says she doesn’t see anything… WHAT!!! Then she tells me to go to the BR, and I have a break down in there. Then she did the probe US. There’s a sac… very small in the uterus.. YEAH.. Maybe??? But they need blood work again tomorrow.. So for the 3rd day in a row.. I was back in there. Got more blood work today and then was talking to the Dr… He’s concerned that there’s only a little sac there.. No fetus to be seen.. BUT I told him the day of Conception was May 18… I’m only 3 weeks pregnant not 6 weeks. UGH if he had listened to me, he would have heard that… So my symptoms are consistent with a 3wk pregnancy then a 6wk… well DUH… LOL I started my Prenatal Vitamins.. I still have M/S, I have always had it, but haven't gotten sick yet, just felt like I should and my BB’s are still sore… and now that I’m looking at them their filling out my shirt more.. LOL So I will have to wait and see what the US determines next week. But I can totally understand why waiting for an appt later on is a little better then right away.. I have had so many low’s this week.. My emotions are way outta wack. So my new EDD is not 2/9/07, which I just found out in my Mom and My Dad’s (their divorced) Anniversary… how funny.. And I have the same cravings as my mom did with me.. How weird…
Apple juice is my craving… and DQ Strawberry sundae’s with nuts… Yummy.

Well, put me down for having morning sickness. I've been feeling nauseous for a couple days now, but this morning, I actually threw up my breakfast of a croissaint and a chai tea latte. This is exactly what happened last time around. It's awful feeling sick and throwing up at work. Given the similarities so far between this pregnancy and my first, maybe I'm having another girl!
Hang in there, ladies. This should pass in a few weeks!
LDS_Angel_19, have you tried taking your vitamin at night? I do and it helps me.

E'sprincess, if I'm not mistaken although you are technically only 3 weeks past ovulation, the dr's still consider that 5 weeks preggo, b/c they consider the pregnancy starting on the first day of your last period. I am 6 weeks along and I O'd on the 11th. Isn't that right ladies? It does seem strange that they are surprised that they don't have much to look at- give the baby a chance to grow a little! Geez!:)
I am so sorry about your car accident. You are stronger than I am! I don't think I could handle it right now! My emotions are a bit of a wreck and although DH says he is preparing himself for the rollercoater, he doesn't have any idea, neither do I for that matter, but I can feel the swell of emotions rising already!
I don't really have any cravings at all right now, but I am trying to drink milk, water and OJ only- no sodas and stuff, and trying really hard to stay away from sugar, caffiene and such. I have gained 5 pounds since this whole thing started! I can't believe it. I know it is all just bloating and my BB, but seriously. This is out of control. I am not going to diet, but I am going to make sure I am not eating more than an extra 100 cal. a day and exercising moderately so when I go in for my appt. in two weeks the five pounds will be gone. I am not a skinny girl, I can't spare 5 pounds when I have nothing to show for it! Although now with the m/s setting in- I may not have to worry about it... That is no fun either!

mom_to_zoe ~ I can only hope that it will pass in a few weeks. That's what I kept thinking last time as well. And it never happened until I was well into my second trimester and then had a return visit in my 3rd trimester. Not to mention L&D. I'm probably freaking out the first timers. Sorry about that.
E'sprincess, if I'm not mistaken although you are technically only 3 weeks past ovulation, the dr's still consider that 5 weeks preggo, b/c they consider the pregnancy starting on the first day of your last period. I am 6 weeks along and I O'd on the 11th. Isn't that right ladies?
bombera ~ You are correct. They start dating the pregnancy from the day of your last MP. Even though I'm only about 3 wks pregnant they say that I'm 5 wks, 1 day.
E'sprincess
06-09-2006, 11:42 AM
Bombera 77 ~ Yep technically you are correct, however since I know the date of conception and my pregnancy is only really 3 weeks they are going to go off of that date instead of the last cycle. I also think they are just being a little cautious with this baby.. because of my 1st miscarriage.. I was 18 then.
Car Accident… 1 high… BFP… and 3 lows… all in one week.
I don’t really have the urg to drink pop or anything.. I have been drinking Water… and I had apple Juice yesterday.. but Orange Juice makes me ill right now.

E'sprincess ~ What date do you want to put as your EDD? I do know that they have tendency to change in early pregnancy. Especially once you have your first u/s if they do one (which they don't always do one during the first trimester but it's very accurate in determine how far along you are. More reliable than one done after the first trimester).
Do not forget to put how far along you are in the subject line. If you don't know, use one of the ticker sites that are listed on the first page. Thank youl

babae07 ~ Welcome to the group.
LDS Angel ~ Thank you. No, it doesn't. Especially considering my water broke just after midnight with DD and by the time we got to the hospital I was almost 3/4 cm and the drive wasn't very far. I know an hour later I was throwing up like crazy and nearly 5 cm. That whole situation doesn't sound very fun to repeat. I was told to contact the woman again in July as they should have an answer by then.
Elenna ~ I'm sure we will. Otherwise I guess we can stay with the one we have now.
E'sprincess ~ How scary about the car accident. Glad that you weren't hurt. We were nearly in one before we moved (I was about 7 wks at the time) and it could have easily been a bad one (the idiot decided he wanted to get on the interstate and decided to turn. Well we were in the lane he should have been. It was a close call. A few days later a car was backing out of a driveway on a BUSY street and nearly hit us on my side of the car.).
Yes, one of us could definitely have a little Valentine's Day baby. How much fun would that be?

About Valentine's babies.... DH and I were engaged on Valentines. So it would be kinda neat. It's silly, but I had a friend in high school, and her birthday was Valentines Day, and she always said it was a curse, she never had a boyfriend because of it. Not that I beleive her, (and besides, not having a BF in high school is certainly not the end of the world) but for some reason it's a memory that stuck with me and has been in the back of my mind.
I just saw that there were two new BFP's over in the charting thread, we should be getting some new members soon. Yay!

We've talked about going back down there to see first hand places we used to visit and where we lived but so far we haven't made it down there. The last time we were down there was January 2005 when we went to pick up our little (well, not exactly little) rescue dog and then drove about another hour or so to stay with a friend. We would have liked to have had a longer visit but DH's work schedule wouldn't allow it. Now things are completely gone (including where our friend lived, where we used to live, places we would eat, shop, etc.).
LDS Angel ~ Yay, new members! Looking forward to them dropping by and joining us in this journey.

phillytiger - Thanks for the welcome!
Welcome and congratulations to jenahdawn and happy!
It looks like we have a Valentine's baby now. :)
Happy - DH and I plan to tell my dad and ILs on Father's Day. We're all having dinner at my SIL's house but we're not sure how to tell them yet. The few ideas I had were: 1) Wear a shirt that says I'm pregnant and see who notices first, 2) Buy our dads gifts that let them know they'll be grandpas, or 3) Have everyone get together for a picture and announce it right before we snap the photo.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

Welcome jenahdawn and happy We're glad to have you join us.
3) Have everyone get together for a picture and announce it right before we snap the photo.
That is a really clever idea! I like that.
We won't be telling our families for a few more weeks, maybe around 4th of July. Not sure yet. And we'll probably just tell them straight out. Last time we gave everyone cute picture frames that said "This space reserved for Baby K". It was really cute.

Congratulations and Welcome jenahdawn and Happy!
We told DH's parents this weekend. It was really hot (in the 90s) and sunny for Riverbend. DH's parents wanted to sit at a stage that was in the sun. The heat and sun were horrible. I felt like I was melting and was really worried I was going to overheat. I needed to find some shade so DH came right out and told them I was pregnant. That made them more agreeable to finding a stage with shade. They were thrilled. And of course MIL started talking right away about family names we have to use.
I'm still planning on not telling any other family until after July 4th.

Unreal that I actually get to post here! It's been a long, needle-filled journey. We had male factor infertility and went through IVF, FET, 3 early miscarriages and surgery for DH before finally getting a positive beta on our first injectable/IUI cycle post surgery.

Any other children: two dogs
Symptoms: Wow, they hit me hard! I was really surprised. I had already grown out of my bras before I even had my first beta. I have veins popping up everywhere. I have moderate "morning sickness" at night. I am beyond exhausted. I have to pee every hour! I believe I will start a prenatal yoga class soon, and start up with acupuncture again. I also found a ginger drink at Whole Foods that helps a lot with the nausea.
Telling: Definitely not until we've had a few good ultrasounds. I will have at least two by 8 weeks since I am under the care of an RE. We definitely will hold off on telling the parents until 12 weeks minimum. After going through 3 m/c, I just really want to make sure whatever's in there sticks.
Next appointment: I have labs again on Friday. I believe my first scan is next week. I am sure of my due date since I saw ovulation happing on ultrasound! LOL. I had 8 follicles, which was a lot.

Wow! Quite a few new mom's since I have posted. Congrats to you all!
My m/s may have been just a scare. It happened Friday, but Sat, Sun and today, nothing! Don't get me wrong. I am not complaining. I have sore enough BB's for everyone and enough bloating that I am about to go crazy. My Dr is going to freak out at the amt of weight I have gained since my last gyno appt. I was so proud because I had lost a pound from last year, I wasn't trying, so I was just glad to have not gained, now I am going to be huge. I am drinking copious amounts of water and running to the bathroom all the time (day and night) and I am still huge! Yuck. Anyone have any advice on how to help with the bloating?

Bombera: I'm sorry your having trouble with bloating. I'm having it, too. It seems to get worse as the day progresses. I've been finding it very helpful (relieving the bloated feeling a bit) to toot whenever I get the urge. TMI, sorry.:o

Morning Sickness ~ Ugg. The weekend was NOT fun. I was sick a few times and generally felt like crap the rest of the time. Not fun to say the least. My med combination didn't seem to do much to prevent it. I'm for sure going to be asking for something when we go this week.
Spotting ~ I'm still having it off an on. I'm not having any cramping so that's a good thing. I just wish it would stop as it makes me kind of concerned.
Welcome to all the new members of the group!
Telling people ~ Well, DH ended up telling his grandparents last week. We told my mom last week as well only because she would have figured it out pretty quickly when I started getting sick. Well, when DH went to call his brother to talk to him about a few things he already knew. It just irks me that people can't keep their mouth shuts. We've had a few issues with SIL (BIL's wife) and I just as soon she didn't know right now. I've already told DH that I'd rather no one mention the new baby at DD's birthday in a few weeks because there will be people there that really do not need to know that information just yet. So hopefully everyone will keep their mouths shut but I have a feeling that the won't and something will slip out and then EVERYONE will know. With the spotting it just makes me concerned that we would have to tell so many more people if something should happen. I guess they don't understand that. GRR..............

So excited to be joining another mommies thread. DS will be almost 17 months when the new one comes along, so I'm sure I'll be busy with 2 under 2.
Symptoms - So far, the only ones I've had is a lower backache and being incredibly moody. DH said I was majorly cranky this weekend. Starting to feel more hungry and defintely thirsty. So far no morning sickness (knock on wood). I didn't have it with DS, so I hope I don't have it this go around. I've had a little bit of brown spotting, but no cramps.
Telling - I'm going to tell DH on Father's Day. I plan on wrapping up the HPT and having him open it last. I videotaped his reaction when I told him I was pregnant with DS and I want to videotape his reaction again when he finds out about #2. After that we probably won't tell family, friends until after my first appointment and first ultrasound.
My first appointment is August 1.

I promise to come back and read all that has happened but I just need a night to relax after what happened earlier.
We were getting ready to leave when DD fell out of her toddler rocker (she stood up in somehow even though she was strapped in the chair). We comforted her and she quit crying in a few minutes. We looked her over and didn't see anything. So DH was getting ready to change her diaper. He said something (I was on my way to the bathroom at the time). When I got back from the bathroom I saw what he was talking about. A bump was on her forehead. So off to the ER we go. They check her out and say it is a hematoma (broken blood vessel under the skin and the blood is pooling underneath the skin). They gave us a list of things to watch out for over the next few days and an ice pack.
What a nerve racking thing to happen. I haven't decided if I like the chair or not or if we will continue to use the chair. Part me says no. But DD is definitely not afraid of anything and is sort of a daredevil. This won't be the first bump she'll get.
I feel like a very bad mommy for letting her fall. I know it wasn't my fault but I can't help but think that way. All the time at the ER I felt like I was going to throw up. It didn't help that we had to walk past where someone had been smoking not long before we walked by. I walked past and took a breath and nearly tossed my cookies right there and then. How I didn't is still something that I can't figure out.

usawife, I'm glad your DD is okay.
So far I've experienced a little nausea and dry heaving. I have no sore bbs at all but I always had them before AF. My cramps come and go and I always have to take a nap after work. I'm so bloated I already look like I'm showing. I'm drinking lots of water and using the bathroom every 15 to 30 minutes.

Welcome to all the new February '07 mommies! I can tell that this is going to be a nice group.
usafwife, I'm glad your DD is okay. Do not beat yourself up! As your DD gets older, this accidents are going to happen. Really, they happen to all of us!
I am having kind of a rough week. My DH has been out of town since Sunday afternoon. He'll be back tonight, but then he leaves again tomorrow for two more nights. It's been just brutal working all day, and then coming home and taking care of Zoe all by myself. I'm tired and nauseous and moody. I can't wait 'til this week is over!
Question: does anyone wonder if she is having twins? Twins run in my family and I have been having such strong symptoms that part of me is wondering if maybe there are two babies in there. I know that the odds are that I am not carrying twins, but I bet someone in this thread will be.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I look forward to the next 8-9 months. :D
usafwife - So glad your DD is alright. I've made a trip to the emergency room with DS and I know exactly what you mean about feeling like a bad parent, but like you said, this won't be the first time she will fall down and hurt herself and won't be the last time. It is amazing how these little people are so quick and have no fear!
Sorry for those of you feeling yucky! Let's hope the first trimester flies by and the m/s is left behind.
twins - No twins in my family so I would be SHOCKED if it was having twins. This would be the look on my face if I was told I was having twins.

Twins! Bite your tongue Mom to Zoe! Yikes.:) My DH has been hoping for them, but I just think it would be overwhelming. Don't get me wrong- I would love them twice as much, but I am praying for ONE happy, healthy baby! I do worry about it from time to time and am constantly worried about a m/c but I hope those feelings will pass after the first trimester.
I have come to terms with my bloating- and am just embracing it. Loose button-down shirts and slacks that have some wiggle room!
USAFwife, I can't tell you how many times my mother says she was sure I was going to kill myself as a child. I was not afraid of anyone or anything! She just got used to all the bumps, bruises and dirt. I was her third, so I think that made it easier. I am sure it is harder with the first baby. You try so hard to make sure they never get hurt and when they do, you feel terrible. No worries. I am sure you are fabulous mom. She is just going to be a daredevil- watch out when she is teenager!
What a great group of new mommies! Welcome everyone! I am excited to share this journey with all of you. My dr.'s appt is in a week and a half and I can't wait to have this confirmed by more than just sore BB's, bloating and a home preg. test. I know that seems like a lot, but I think it will be comforting to be confirmed by a professional!

Twins: Not sure if twins are in my family. My mom and grandma think my mom was a twin. My grandma bled heavily early on when she was pregnant with my mom. She thought she had had a miscarriage, but was still pregnant afterwards.
DH and I would love to have twins. I was on Clomid. That upped my chances a tiny bit.

Hi Ladies,
It is so fun to watch our little group grow. I may not be posting a ton but I will always be reading. My DS does not like me to type on the computer for some reason. I think that he thinks it is a game and wants to "help"
I have been very nauseous since about 3 days before I got my BFP. I was not nearly this nauseous when I was pregnant with my DS so maybe this means it is a girl. Twins do run in my family and we would be thrilled if there were 2 :) Who knows though.
I had to have blood drawn yesterday and again tomorrow Am because of my m/c in March. I have not gotten the results yet but I am anxiously awaiting them tomorrow or Thursday. Hopefully everything will look good and we will be on track for an us at 7 weeks.
telling the parents - when we were pregnant with DS it was right around Christmas time so we gave each set of parents "chicken soup for the grandparents soul" they were VERY excited to hear our good news. When we were pregnant this last time we had my DS wear a shirt over that said "I am going to a big brother". I don't really want to do that again and the shirt is too small now so I am thinking about having my DH wear a shirt that said "pickles and ice cream fetcher". I think that I will just make it for him as part of his father's day gift. We want to make sure that people know because if we do m/c we will want their support again like we had last time around.
Well off to find something to eat that will not make me sick. (What that is I have no clue)
Have a great day

Hi from Myrtle Beach - just checking in quickly!
Welcome to all the new mommies!!!
usafwife - so glad dd is ok, and no, you're definitely NOT a bad mommy!
Twins - my dad is an identical twin, and DH's grandfather has identical twin brothers, so it's definitely in the genes...we'll see :D
I'm TOTALLY bloated - between that and my huge bb's you'd think I was showing! Exhaustion has definitely hit, and I'm taking full advantage of being on vacation & sleeping as much as I can. I'm peeing constantly, and am always thirsty, so I just keep the water coming. So far I haven't gotten sick, but am spending plenty of time nauseous...symptoms are definitely here :)
I'll check in again in a few days!!!!!!!!

Elenna, LDS Angel, babae, mom_to_zoe, jenjen, bombera, and phillytiger ~ Thank you. The bump is smaller today than it was yesterday but it's still here. And she has a nice bruise.
E'sprincess ~ Great numbers and quick doubling time.
LDS Angel ~ Thank you. Good luck on the move. We moved when I was pregnant with my DD and I don't think I ever recovered from it. It was a lot of work. I had to have a trash can with me in one hand and a box in other. Talk about miserable. I'm still amazed that I was able to get as many things packed as I did. I guess I was determined to get out of there (it was a nasty apartment and we couldn't have been happier to move. Way too many problems with that place.)
babae ~ Dry heaving is awful. I've had it myself with this one already.
mom_to_zoe ~ Thank you. I know it won't be the first and certainly not the last of the bumps, bruises, scratches, and whatever else. I'm sorry you are having a rough week. Hope it passes quickly. Hey, tomorrow is already Wednesday which means the week is half over. I'm just glad that my DH is home as he was was supposed to be gone for 2 wks. I seriously don't know how I would have been ablel to function given the way I'm (and have been) feeling.
Twins Question ~ Well, I've given this question thought before. My DH kept telling me when I was pregnant with DD that I was pregnant with twins. I kept telling him that he better wish/hope that he was just kidding me. I think he did to cheer me up because I was so sick and feeling so awful. No twins with that pregnancy as we just saw one when we had an u/s at 9 wks. With my June 05 mommy group there were a total of 3 ladies who were pregnant with twins. Two of them knew very early but the other one didn't find out until they had their big u/s at around 20/25 wks. They were VERY shocked but finally found out why she had been so sick. Her's were girl/girl and born a couple of months early. The other two ladies had boy/girl twins and were born very close to their EDDs. Unfortunately one of the ladies lost the boy twin (they knew he had a heart condition) just prior to delivering. They have dealt with the loss very well and are now expecting another addition to their family. I'm sure that there will be at least one group member who is expecting twins.
jenjen ~ Welcome to the group! DD has absolutely no fear (and I know where she gets it from...her father. I'm surprised that his brothers or him weren't severely injured while growing up considering some of the things they did). I kept sitting there half expecting to them say that they were calling someone to turn us in. The last ER trip was about a month ago for a tick bit we wanted to get checked out because a red rash developed around the bit and DH's grandma had been to our house over the weekend, had a tick on her, and found out she had Lyme disease. Thankfully DD didn't have it.
bombera ~ You sound like you had a similar childhood as my DH and his brothers had. I'm very surprised that one of them wasn't injured considering all of the things they did while growing up. I don't think DD knows a stranger or is afraid of a thing. While I like it that she isn't afraid of people I do hope she learns that she needs to be careful as she gets older. Yes, she is definitely a daredevil. I'm almost dreading the years ahead to see what kind of things she gets herself into.
happy ~ Hope you are able to find something that doesn't make you sick. (I'm right there with you. This morning I threw everything back up including the pills I'd just taken along with the water I had drank.)
__________________________________________________ ___
This morning was absolutely awful. I was awke for about 3 hours and spent most of that time in the bathroom throwing up. I even threw up the water I had drank. This is starting to remind me of when I was pregnant with DD (I couldn't keep water down then either along with pretty much everything else. Somehow I was able to keep down McDonald's French Fries though). And I never gained a pound until I was past 25 wks.
We had a very tragic accident happen to a school very near us. A group was on a trip and 2 students are confirmed dead and they are still looking for another student and a teacher. They drowned. This poor school has been through the ringer. Last year a senior was killed while having her senior pictures taken.

Hi ladies! Thank you for the warm welcome!
I had another beta today and the levels were very, very strong so I am relieved! I have been having off and on spotting so I was kind of worried.
Twins: I have probably a 50% chance. I had 8 eggs at ovulation, so I got the "twins" and "triplets" warning speech from my RE. Also my beta numbers have been high, so we shall see. I have 3 friends with twins. I would just be happy with one healthy baby at this point! DH really wants twins! LOL.

this is an x-post from my LJ:
So for whatever reason I'm all of a sudden totally nervous about my appointment tomorrow. I was fine until a few hours ago and then it just kind of hit me. For some reason, I feel like I'm going to have to argue with my dr. about my LMP vs. my O date. Hopefully they'll just do an ultrasound and get it straight.
And I'm kinda bummed that DH can't come with me. And I know that's making me more nervous. I just don't really like going anywhere by myself. Especially places where they are going to come at me with needles.
And besides all that, a small part of me still feels like this is not really happening. Like I'll go in tomorrow and they'll tell me that I'm not really pregnant. Well, an HPT tomorrow morning before I leave will help with that feeling a little bit. :)
ETA: That avatar is adorable!

BTW, I have those exact same feelings that I'm going to go to the doctor and she is going to tell me I'm a big dummy and not pregnant at all. I would totally do the same thing and take a HPT to make myself feel better. Sending your buckets and buckets of good vibes for today! :D
Took another HPT yesterday, just to reassure myself and it came back positive. Yea!! Still not feeling sick to my stomach or sore BBs but it is starting to hurt a little bit when DS is nursing. I also notice that I'm getting hungry a lot quicker now and really thirsty. Not really have the exhaustion yet, but I'm sure that is to come. I started my little white lie to DH this morning and told him that AF was coming to throw him off. I sooooo can't wait to surprise him on Father's Day! It is actually kinda funny knowing this is my little secret for now. :p

In my family, it skips a generation....and my brothers don't have them.
And on the other side, there is a set. (I babysat them when they were very little and now they just graduated high school!)
And a very good friend on here (IRL) has two adorable little girls. (She and some other local ladies have cursed me with triplets because I can't keep my mouth shut!)
And, because of that, NOT IT!
One at a time will be more than enough for me. Besides, I'm too short to carry that much.

Welcome boilermaker!
usafwife - Sorry about the m/s.:( Those drownings are really tragic.
la_bride_2004 - Great to hear you have strong betas.
LDS Angel 19 - I'm sure your appointment will go fine. Sorry DH can't go. Do let us know how it goes today.
jenjen0713 - I took an hpt yesterday too. I have a few more saved up to reassure myself until I have my OB appointment four weeks away. I'm amazed that you can keep your secret for so long. But that'll be one heck of a Father's day present.
I'm starting to feel a little soreness in my bbs. Nothing else has changed. DH is having the hardest time keeping our secret but I wanted to wait till all of our immediate family knows. Just about everyone one in our family will know on Father's day except for my mom. My mom is out of the country and has been since March. She was supposed to come back a few weeks ago but extended her stay through July (not sure when she's coming back yet). This is killing DH because I don't want to tell anyone else till she comes back and we can tell her in person. Well we had Chinese food on Sunday and my fortune said "Now is the time to call loved ones at a distance. Share your news." Made me think I should just tell her on the phone. Then yesterday, DH had chinese for lunch and got the same exact fortune. Kind of eery, wouldn't you say?

Oh, just wanted to say my symptoms:
Besides aversion to eggs and milk (how can people stand to smell and eat that stuff now?!?!) Not so keen on red meat. Sore boobs. Nauseaous. And can't seem to get full when I do eat. (Three chicken soft tacos and nachos from Taco Bell last night and still wasn't full-full.) Also, have you noticed how much better things taste with a bit of salt on them?
And peeing....all the time. And thirsty....all the time, hence peeing all the time, so I am thirsty all the time....it's a vicious cycle.

usafwife - Sorry about the morning sickness. Those drownings are really tragic. I hope they find the other child and teacher soon. What? A child was killed while taking Senior pictures.. How tragic...
la_bride_2004 - Great to hear you have strong betas. Isn't it a great feeling once you hear the numbers jumped...
LDS Angel 19 - I'm sure your appointment will go fine. Sorry DH can't go. Eric wanted to go to the first appt too, but couldn't. Please let us know what the results are.
Welcome boilermaker! Congratulations.
Tara, Thanks so much for creating us an avatar... I love it...

Welcome and congratulations Boilermaker!
Jenadawn: It is funny how everyone is different. All I craved for a while were dairy products, eggs, and red meat.:)
Babae: With those two fortunes I say call your mom.;)
Jenjen: I've thought about using my last HPTs while waiting for my appt.
LDS_Angel: I totally felt like that when I was going in for my betas. Good luck at your appt today.
usafwife: What a horrible accident. I hope they are able to find everyone for closure.
Not much new going on. The nausea, when it's here, is getting stronger. Yesterday, I let my stomach get empty and I felt horrible. I felt like my blood sugar dropped to zero.

Ah, yes, good times! Just wait until third trimester and you have to go 2-3 times in the middle of the night. It is quite a production. You are so HUGE that you can't just pop out of bed and run to the bathroom. oooohhhh noooo, first you have all these pillows surrounding you (some by your belly, some behind your back, maybe one between your legs) so you have to get all the pillows out of the way, maneuver yourself as close to the edge of the bed as possible, swing your legs down and try to push up to a sitting postion (this might require a hand from DH), then waddle to the bathroom and pray that your sciatic nerve doesn't go nuts on the walk. Once you make it to the bathroom and only release like 4 drops, waddle back to bed and rearrange all the pillows again. :D Oh and my personal favorite is when I got to the third trimester and would sneeze, I would sometimes pass a few drops of pee. Nice, real nice. :o
babae07 - I think that is definitely a sign to call your mom!
E'sprincess - Sorry to hear you aren't feeling too good. Do you have any crackers or anything you could munch on to help?
elenna - I totally hear you about craving meat. McDonald's double cheeseburgers sounds sooooo good right now!

Well girls, I hate to say it, but it looks like my bad feeling was right.... (x-post from my LJ)
So. I had my appointment this morning. They had me pee in the cup, and I freaked when a little bit of blood came out. They did an u/s, and didn't see anything. So, It's most likely a chemical pregnancy. They did say it could just be too early, even though I'm nearly 6 weeks... But after I left the bleeding has been getting progressively heavier.
The did take blood to run beta numbers, and I'm supposed to call for the results tomorrow and probably go back for a repeat blood draw the next day.
I guess we'll see what happens, but it's not looking so good for us this time around either.

Cautiously joining this thread...
Username: Ladybug777
Me: Jazmine, 27
DH: Taft, 30
Married: 6/15/02
TTC: 3/03
BFP: 6/5/06
EDD: 2/12/07
Gender Prediction: Boy!
Any other children: Two rottie furbabies!
I got my BFP a little over a week ago and I'm still in shock. DH and I have been TTC for over 3 years, and we're in shock that we're finally pg. This has been a long road (1 surgery, 1 miscarriage, 2 IVF cycles).
I've had three betas so far, and they've all been great. Our first u/s was on tuesday, and so far so good. Our next u/s is on 6/20 and we should hopefully see a hb by then.
Symptoms so far: THIRSTY, tired, lots of bathroom trips, sore boobs on and off. In the beginning, I had a lot of cramping, but that's starting to get better. No morning sickness yet, but occasional nausea when if I get really hungry.
Who we've told: Not very many people. A few girls at work know, but that's b/c they knew we were doing IVF in the first place. We're trying to wait for a few more weeks before we start telling. But I think we've decided that we won't lie about it. If someone asks, we'll be truthful.
LDS Angel: So sorry about the bleeding. I'm praying for you and hope your beta #'s come back nice and strong.

LDS, I too am hoping and praying that your numbers come back strong!
Welcome ladybug and many congratulations!! How exciting to have an us already.
I'm trying to go back and reas through more of the thread but it'll take me awhile to catch up. In regards to twins, there is no history of them at all in my family, so I am not too worried about it.
Symptom wise, I don't crave anything and I don't have an aversion to anything at this point. I am drinking a lot more and I'm tired. I'm not going to complain about that.
babae, I guess you should call your mom. Though I do think this is one of those areas where your wishes should trump those of your DH if you still want to wait.

I'll update the thread (and do replies) tomorrow as it's getting late and I'm tired.
I had a good appt today. Too early to do an u/s and see much so we scheduled one for my next appt in a few wks. Found out my thyroid is now hypothyroid instead of hyperthyriod like I had been since DD was born. So I now have the meds for hypothyroid (doesn't surprise me as my doctor had already warned us that it might go to hypothyroidism in time. Plus my mom and my aunt are hypothyroid). It means that I'm at a higher risk for m/c so I am to call if I have spotting/bleeding and/or any cramping and they will get me sooner. I also got some meds for my morning sickness. Hopefully they will work. If not I'll be letting them know.
LDS Angel ~ I'm so sorry to hear that. Having gone through a m/c a few months ago I can relate. Sending you positive vibes that it was just early and couldn't see anything and the bleeding stops.
ladybug ~ Welcome to the group!
As a side note to the tragic drowning accident, we actually know the mother of one of the students killed. We had just talked to her last week. They were able to locate her body today (thankfully. At least with a body you can put closure to the accident in time). It just breaks your heart that one moment you have your child and the next you don't. Goes to show you can't protect them forever (even though you try and want to).

I had my first crazy pg hormonal breakdown yesterday. My DH was giving me my shot (I'm still on progesterone injections from the IVF) and I just started crying. But not just crying. BAWLING! He was really good about it, but man, was that crazy. I was wondering when that would start happening.

Me.. So I went and had another ultrasound yesterday.. and I saw the baby.. and the heart beating... This is so amazing.. I can't believe it happened.. I'm carrying a little baby... Very little .3cm to be exact.. but it's there and there's a heartbeat, I even saw it beating... I even have the picture now to scrap... Oh, I'm so happy today. I have to go back next Wednesday, for a 3 hour sugar test, seems mine was a little bit high and they need to do a longer test and another ultrasound, So I'll have another picture to keep them too. It's so amazing...

Can I start a Question of the Day? What are you telling people about why you aren't drinking?
Seriously ladies, I'm running out of excuses because we keep going out with the same people. I've used that I ate something bad the day before, and today I really do have a bad cold so I'm going to use that.
I may need a longer term excuse though, like that I'm on some kind of medication -- but what kind of medication would work?
Can't wait to hear what others have come up with...

fsb, I haven't had to tell people that I'm not drinking yet. I actually went to a party last night and had lemonade on ice in a margarita glass with a lime. Nobody knew any different. I had 2, then told them no more since I was driving. Another thing I plan to do if I have to is claim a migraine. I get them anyhow and alcohol is not the greatest for them. But it is hard because I am a very social drinker.

Any other children: Our dog - Ranger
My story - I got PG last July, 3 months before our wedding, and mc'd in Aug at about 7-8 wks. That was a huge scare for us b/c I was on BCP and just forgot 2 days  Since then I've tried new BCP and got sick from them so I've been charting to avoid since Jan 06. I tried another type of BC, the NuvaRing, for two months but quit about two months ago.
This month I O'd on CD10 which is the earliest for me (normally CD14 or later) and it was the first time I've ever had EWCM. So it dawned on me the next day of our little, yet big mistake. After my temps rose I told DH of the situation and he seemed fine, and I've been testing since 6DPO hoping for an early answer.
So after 3 BFN's I finally got an answer last night - BFP
symptoms - I had very sensitive nips a few days after O but so far no boob soreness yet. I also had very light spotting on two different days, but it was nothing like I experianced w/ my mc in Aug. Lately I've just been exhausted and nauseous and now I can add that my ankles are starting to kill me
sharing the news - Well since my best friend was with me when I bought the HPT last night I texted her when I found out. I don't think I'm ready to tell our families yet and when we decide to, it'll just be the immediate fam.
drinking - Ya that's going to be a fun one to avoid. I'm going out of town this weekend with my mom and she was wanting to hit a Martini Bar, hopefully something will come up and we won't go so I can avoid that at all cost. But then next weekend I'm going to a big birthday bash and it'll be hard explaining to my 10+ friends why I'm not boozing it up. I might just "come down with something" so that will hopefully explain my upset tummy and be reason enough not to drink.
Father's Day - I haven't even bought any gifts yet, how horrible am I??? I'm very tempted to out myself as it might be a moral boost for my family, but I'm so scared to jinx myself.
PG shirts - anyone know a site that sells them?? It might be a while before I purchase one, but it doesn't hurt to start looking right?
Congrats to you all, I wish everyone a H&H 9 months and my condolences to those you who have already suffered a loss!!

Congratulations on seeing the baby and its heartbeat E'sprincess!
TGIF! I soo plan to sleep this weekend. Since DH has been out of town all week I haven't been sleeping well. DH comes home tonight. Sleep here I come!:)
I had my worst bought of m/s, so far, this morning. I started heaving while brushing my teeth. Unfortunately, it was really violent and I made quite a mess on me and the floor and around the sink with the toothpaste.:o Then while I was cleaning up the mess I started heaving again. I didn't throw anything up, but boy it still sucked! I'm not complaining though! I've been asking for it.:D
Drinking: I'm hoping to get away with not drinking while with our friends for a little while longer. Two weeks ago, I didn't drink when we were with friends. DH didn't drink, also (his own choice, I didn't say anything to him), to kinda cover up that I wasn't. No one gave me funny looks or said a word.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

My betas did go up (still don't know the exact numbers), but my progesterone is low. So I'm getting a prescription for that, and then going for another blood draw monday morning. This is turning into quite the roller-coaster! My symptoms are kind of coming and going... I really don't know what to think about all of this, but I've still got a little bit of hope.

QOTD: I'm leaving that up to my DH. He's always been adamant that he wants to be surprised. But lately, he's kind of been going back and forth. I figure, getting to this point has been totally untraditional & unspontaneous, so he at least deserves one surprise.

I'm thinking boy
And, just because of that, I DO want to find out.
So, the last night, on the way to the grocery store, I said, "I wonder if all of the nauseau I have been having could be considered a minor case of m/s...for now..."
My darling husband, "Um, I'm gonna say doubtful, since it's not morning."
Oh, he has much to learn!
Also, I've noticed that if I have the tiniest piece of candy or anything sweet (we are talking ONE Spree), in about 20 minutes, I get a really painful, I have to sit down and rub and wince, cramp. And ONLY when I have something sweet. Wonder what will happen when he (Yeah, I'm saying he) is much much bigger and will be kicking?
Question: For those of you who have done this whole thing before, how long until you stopped checking every time you went to pee? (You know what I mean) AKA, how long until you stopped being paranoid?

haha. Since, I posted before, it automatically subscribed me, so I admit, I've been lurking a little bit.
So anyway, Jenah, the answer to your question is, when you're either about to pop or when you're in the hospital about to give birth. :p The nervousness and paranoia never end.

jenahdawn - For me, I started to relax a little after the first trimester and I knew the chance of miscarriage went down. This is probably when I stopped checking the t.p. so carefully as well. I got more relaxed at around 17-18 weeks when I started to feel movements. You will always be paranoid about something. I know the final weeks, if I wasn't feeling kicks as often as I thought, I would poke around on my belly and wake DS up and make him move around so that I would feel better.

I surprised DH for Father's Day and gave him the BFP! He was shocked to say the least. I posted the video of it over in my LJ if anyone is interested. If I don't have you friended already, just let me know what your username is over there and I'll get you added.
Still no real symptoms. I've noticed I'm starting to get more tired and out of breathe and hungry ever few hours.

I would agree that you never stop worrying but with each positive step you get less worried. For example, with my daughter I saw her heartbeat on ultrasound at 8 weeks and that made me feel a bit better. And then as I reached the end of my first trimester, and then at the 20 week ultrasound, and then as I reached viability, and then I reached full term, and then you only begin to feel calm when they arrive at the end of labor. But then of course you realize you now have to protect them from the outside world which is a wonderful but dangerous place too.
To answer the QOTD fromt he other day, I would liek to keep this baby a surprise but I think my DH and I will be unable to resist the temptation to find out, so I am thinking we will find out.
I am growing more excited and scared for my ultrasound on Thursday, but I am just praying everything is okay, since I feel like that is all I can do.
BTW, anyone have a vibe that they might be having more than one baby? I do, but I don't know if it is wishful thinking because I don't really have any support for there being more than one. Though I have endlessly compared my chart with the pregnancy to each one of the pregnant with multiples chrt on ovusoft's chart gallery. :)

MrsHill - I vote you stay here with your TTC w/charting buddies. :) FF has my due date as 2/19, so I'm not much earlier than you are.
I think I'll feel more comfortable at 8 weeks when we hear the heartbeat. I definitely worry that something could be wrong now.
lattee - glad to see that someone else is neurotic and kept charting. It makes me feel better to see a high temp every morning -- otherwise I think I'd be wasting money on HPTs. The downside though is that I am prone to get worried -- my temp dropped to 98.3 one day and of course I had to worry that it meant that I was going to lose the pregnancy. So I'm not sure that it's a good thing for me, but I can't stop!

I'm not sure where I left off, but Hi everyone! Just got back from blood draw #3 and should find out this afternoon if the progesterone is doing it's job. It sure feels like it, I've got some killer m/s. Well, in my case, afternoon sickness.
jenjen0713
06-19-2006, 07:38 AM
lattee22 - Nope, I don't have the feeling that there is more than one inside. I'd be SHOCKED if there was.
fsb - I'm another neurotic one who is still temping. I got my 18th day of high temperatures today, so I think I'm going to force myself to put the thermometer away. Will they do an u/s at your appointment? I know at my 10 weeks appt with my first one they tried to find the h/b with the doppler and couldn't. I was freaking out, but the doctor reassured me that this early that it is a 50/50 chance of hearing it on doppler. I had an u/s the next day and saw and heard the h/b then.
LDS - Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you that the progesterone is doing the trick!! Mucho good luck today!
elenna - Good luck with your u/s today!

Jenah, I had to laugh at your DH's comment about the morning sickness. I made it a point this weekend to tell my DH that it can happen more than just in the morning.
wagsgirl, you can join both threads! If you go early, you'll prob be parenting along with the Jan moms...or you could go late and be parenting with the Feb moms..so might as well get to know them both right?
MrsHill, you need to stay right here :) We like you too much to let you go to the other thread (has there even been a March thread created yet?)
jenjen, yeah for surprising DH. I'll have to find you over on LJ to hear all about it. I'm boilermaker98 there. I'm noticing the tiredness too!
lattee, we'll all be thinking of you on Thurs! Do twins run in your family at all? That would be exciting but scary as heck too!
fsb, I can't believe you are still charting. But then again, i never got into it at all..maybe since I am not a morning person! But good for you since it helps keep you sane and unworried.
LDS, I am keeping my fingers crossed. Go progesterone!! You deserve your little miracle to stick!!!!!
In regards to uneasiness and continual checking, I haven't been. But then again, I only took 1 pg test too. I guess I am just an optimist at heart. Plus in general, I am not a worrier.
I'm starting to feel a few more symptoms. Mostly at night. I get tired earlier and have had a few little waves of naseau right around 9 pm. But nothing even worth commenting on. And my boobs are starting to feel heavier and more tender at night.
I did get DH a "father to be" card and a little onsie as a gift for yesterday. I think he is still freaked out. I just hope he's excited by February. It just that he is such a planner and since this wasn't planned, he's having a hard time dealing with it. So that's a little disappointing to me. I can't even get him to talk about it. But he does recognize it and do little things that show he's thinking of it...just nothing verbally. Does anyone else have this with their DH?
And I made my first Dr appt for July 11
Good luck to Elenna on her US today! Can't wait to see the picture.

LDS- I am praying for a positive result! I just know it will go well.
I spent the week at my in-laws which was nice and relaxing but I have to gripe for a minute- they know we are pregnant and if I have to hear ONE MORE TIME how my MIL was the thinnest she had ever been after she had my DH that she did some modeling- I MIGHT HURT SOMEONE! I am 5'2" and was not very thin before I got pregnant and I have blown up 5 lbs since I got my BFP without eating any more food than normal! I will not be doing any modeling after I have this baby! No one better expect it from me. I plan on losing the weight, of course, I think everyone plans on it, but it is not going to be easy with my super slow metabolism! It is just not reality. This is going to be a long 9 months... She has told me this "story" about 10 times already and I don't think she even realizes that she keeps telling me. I am already body conscious as it is, and now that I am having trouble wearing my normal clothes already and I am not even at 8 weeks, it is not helping my self esteem. I keep telling myself that it is for a good cause!
Okay, enough pity partying for me! On a happier note, I have been feeling great. Except for incredibly tired, I only have very occasional bouts of nausea. I am under no illusion that it will continue to be this easy, but for now I am counting my blessings!
DH and I go in Thursday for my first dr's appt. I have no idea what they are going to do. I don't know if they are doing an u/s or not. I have a negative attitude about my dr. already and I haven't even spoken to him about this pregnancy! I just feel like I am going to have to go in there prepared to do battle about how I want to have this baby! I am afraid of a dr. who is induce, Cesarean and drug happy. I guess I have just heard too many stories. I know I will feel a ton better after I go in and just talk.
As for checking the tp, constantly! It is unbelievable. Every time i have the slightest cramp, I am rushing to the bathroom to make sure there is no spotting! I am glad to hear that everyone is as crazy as I am!
Sorry for the rant- but I had to get some of that out! Wish me luck at my gastro appt. tomorrow. My gastro dr. is going to be mad at me for stopping my meds (I have crohn's) but I just couldn't take that risk for the first trimester... Anyone else quit any maintenance meds when they found out?

Hi girls, I've been MIA for a few days. My nanny called in sick on Thursday and Friday so I was home with Zoe and didn't have much time to get to the computer. Oh my gosh! Chasing after an almost-three-year-old while tired and nauseous is NOT fun. Work is way easier than being home!
Anyway, welcome to the new members and still sending sticky vibes to LDS_Angel_19
QOTD: We found out the sex when I was pregnant with Zoe and we will again this time too. There are lots of good reasons to find out and not to find out. For those of you who are on the fence, I will just say that finding out the sex when I was pregnant with Zoe really helped my DH connect with the baby more. Once he knew the baby was a girl, he started picturing himself with a daughter and got much more into the pregnancy -- not that he wasn't before, but you know what I mean. Also, if your DH really wants one sex or the other, it might be a good idea to find out ahead of time because that way, if the baby is not the sex he prefers, he has 20 weeks to get used to the idea, instead of feeling disappointment at the birth, which no one wants.

Welcome and congrats BusyBee!
MrsHill & Wagsgirl -Here's another vote for for you to hang with us.
LDS Angel - It sounds like things are looking up. Still have my fingers crossed.
jenjen - Yeah for telling DH. I amazed how long you kept your secret.
bombera - Sorry your MIL is getting to you. I hope for your sake that she lightens up a bit. I don't have problems with my MIL but I can't help but think she'll be watching my weight too.
Baby's sex - We definitely want to know before hand.
I always check my tp. I think more out of habit than fear. I had a dream a few nights ago that I started spotting so now I'm being more paranoid about it.
I have no new symptoms to report. Just tired all the time.
DH and I surprised my dad and ILs last night. I used LDS Angel's idea and bought two picture frames that said "Great Dads get promoted to Grandpa". Inside the frame it said "Reserved for Baby F - Coming February 2007". We had them open them together. Everyone was so excited. My SIL couldn't stay still. Of course I was embarrassed because I started crying. This will be the first grandchild on both sides.

I'll try and catch up with the QOTDs later this morning... but I have a question. So you all like for people to put how far along you are in the subject line. When do you start that count? From your LMP? From your Ovulation date? Do you add 14 days from your Ovulation date? Cause all of those give me different dates to put at the top there.
babae07
06-19-2006, 10:10 AM
MrsHill - I based mine on my ovulation date (According to FF) and count from 14 days before that. If I based it on my LMP, it would only be a day difference and my EDD would be 2/16/07 instead of 2/17/07. I have a feeling my OB may base it on my LMP though.
fsb2005
06-19-2006, 10:26 AM
MrsHill I'm using FF's predicted due date, but when I count how far along I am I go from LMP. So I just look at FF and see how many weeks and days this cycle has been. I figure that's how my doctor's going to do it, so that's how I will too. I O'd on CD 17 though, so it's really only a 3 day difference.
BusyBee
06-19-2006, 10:38 AM
Like babae07, I count back 14 days from my O date, too. I O'd around CD21 (typical for me), so there's a whole week difference.
I must confess, I plan to fudge my LMP date with my doctor's office, too.
Hmm, although, this time I wasn't temping, so I'm not as sure of it as I was before. What are you using as your LMP?
lattee22
06-19-2006, 11:19 AM
BusyBee
Our "kids" will be almost the same ages. My DD was due April 30, 2005 but was two days late and was born May 2. I participated in both a May and April thread. And this time we will be having our second kiddos in February likely.
I hate the discrepancy between LMP due date and O'ed due date. To make my cycle that much more confusing I am not sure whether I Oed on CD19 or 20 because if you use temps only (which I usually have to do because I tend to have EW the day after O) I Oed on CD19. But if you use the strict method of temps and fluid dry up I Oed on CD20. Anyways, this puts my O due date between 2 - 3 days after LMP due date. But for now I am using LMP due date.

Welcome busybee and (officially) MrsHill!!!
As for my ticker days, I was not charting and I am not regular with regards to cycles, so I don't actually have a clue when I am due or, to the day, how far along I am. So I just picked a date in the middle, entered it into a lilypie ticker and it tells me how far along I am. The way I figure it, your due date is just an estimate give or take 2 weeks on either side. So if you are off by a day or 2 or even 3, it's not going to make any difference to the baby.

Wow, alot to catch up on.
Welcome and Congratulations, MrsHill and BusyBee!
LDS Angel: I hope today's number is good!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes for my U/S today.:)
My symptoms are still coming and going. All weekend long I had to eat every two hours or I'd get nauseated. I'm getting round ligament pains every so often. They started last Monday.
QOTD: We're on the fence about finding out the sex. While TTCing we were both very much on the "we will not find out" side. But now that we're pregnant, we've been on the fence.
So, I had my ultrasound today. I was very nervous before the appointment. I've read too many horror stories with bad news at women's first ultrasounds.
We saw the baby and the heartbeat right away!:D She had just stuck the wand inside and immediately she was saying "There's the baby and heartbeat!". I'm measuring 7w2d +/-2 days (so right on track) and the heartbeat was 134 beats per minute! (I joked with the tech that it might be my racing heartbeat she was picking up:)) The ultrasound tech kept the wand up there for what felt like forever.:o She checked my ovaries. I have a large cyst on my left ovary, but the doc isn't worried about it. She says that it is most likely the side I ovulated from.
AND..they found another sac, but nothing was in it. The other sac was measuring smaller than the sac with the baby in it. I have to have another ultrasound in two weeks to check on the other sac.
I'll scan my ultrasound and post it as soon as I can.
Also, the doc and ultrasound both put my due date as Jan. 31. But I'll stay here since I feel I belong here more than in the Jan2007 thread.
Threadmistress, my next ultrasound appt is July 3rd.

I understand your point, Ericka - and thanks.
I had heard of several women saying their doc didn't believe their O date, and so with DD I just side-stepped the whole argument and adjusted my LMP date myself. At my first appointment they did an u/s standard, and she measured right on. At every appointment, they asked my LMP.
Maybe I'll just say I'm not sure of the date, and rely on the u/s.
Maybe I shouldn't worry about such a silly thing :)

MrsHill, you need to stay right here :) We like you too much to let you go to the other thread (has there even been a March thread created yet?)
Well, how sweet are you?? Goodness. :) Thank you all for the welcomes. I'm happy to be here. :)
BusyBee - If it was just my mom, I wouldn't consider it to be a factor. But it's everyone. Mom, Grandma, Aunts, cousins, Mom's Cousins, 2nd cousins. Everyone in my family goes late.
FSB - Duh! I didn't even think to check Ovusoft. It tells me my due date is 2/23 (so much for 'net calculator), and that I should deliver sometime between 2/13 and 3/5.
Elenna - I'm glad your appointment went so well! What does this news about another sac mean -- is it a possible twin?
I swear I will get to QOTD's and such this afternoon... but I can't now because - get this. My mom is coming over to pick me up to go to the Yarn Store in West Seattle. She wants wants to start knitting a sweater for The Baby and wants to bring me with her to pick out the pattern. She is soooo funny! :p
ETA - Oh yeah... we told our parents this weekend (http://www.constantchatter.com/showpost.php?p=804413&postcount=53).

MrsHill: You live in Seattle? I lived there for 3 years in the Northgate area and worked in Renton. I miss it alot.
They think the other sac was another baby that didn't grow. The other sac is measuring smaller than the one they found the baby in. Hopefully, we'll found out more at the next ultrasound.
Here's my ultrasound picture. Sorry it is red tinted. I forgot to tell the scanner I was scanning a photo.

Michelle - Keeping all my crossables crossed for you that the progesterone is doing it’s magic.. and your miracle stays right where it should. Good luck today!
Elenna - Good luck with your u/s today! How exciting…OMG, two sacs… wow… in my first appt they didn’t see a fetus either, I had to go back the next week and have another US and then they saw the baby….
Welcome and Congrats to BusyBee and Mrs Hill… Glad to have ya here…
MrsHill ~ For me, considering I know the “date” we dtd… I’m going by that day. It’s unusually to know the exact date, but because we oops, one time it’s really easy for me.. LOL.. If I went off my LMP, I would be 8 weeks exactly, but we DTD on 5/18 so I’m only 4 weeks 4 days.
Weekend recap… This weekend was so draining on me.. Emotionally and mentally. First Friday, I went to a purse party and some of the ladies were actually “rude” to me, I was showing some of them the ultrasound, even though it’s only a size of a pea.. It’s there.. Well someone there started rolling her eyes at me… UGH… like because it’s so small it doesn’t count. Yeah right.. and they started scaring me about al these US I have had. She said that they could hurt the baby’s ears. Some other stuff too, but I can’t remember.. So then I went to Targets..I was like I have to go potty… so bad.. and they were like it’s the size of a pea, you can’t I repeat I can’t be having symptoms yet.. Well let me tell you.. I can and do.. Morning sickness.. sore BB’s, Tired and having to potty all the time.. UGH.. I just feel like when is everyone going to accept I am having a baby and I can have symptoms this early… I mean I “knew” before I actually got the BFP… I just knew..had some symptoms but not like now.. so I went home started crying to Eric.. thank goodness he’s great.. just consoled me and told me it’s ok for us to be excited…
Saturday, I called my mom basically having a nervous breakdown, basically no-one either wants me to have this baby, and I have no-one to talk to share my experiences.. I understand I’m the typical 1st time mommy, and I have a lot of questions and not may answers, but dang everyone is getting down on me. Then we went to my nephew’s birthday, AC broke… ugh… 20 people in a living room.. not great.. lol.. and 20 different experience rushed at me at once. Gave Eric his first Father’s day card… Yeah.. it was perfect, and then surprisingly, everyone else did too.. I was shocked. Then to my Nieces birthday party… outside.. nice AC going, the same girl was there and rolled her eyes at me again because someone there want to see the US picture… UGH.. again. Eric ruined every picture I tried to take of us.. so I went an say in sun and forget him attitude..
Sunday ~ Quiet day of Cleaning.. double UGH.. lol. But I got to sleep in until 11.. nice…. Watched movies.. and then went to sleep, however Eric and I start wrestling around and I scratched him… Didn’t realize I have daggers on my hands now.. (nails growing), so then I trying to look at his face, and he’s running from me.. yes were usually very funning chasing, play fighting and such, but I got emotional again that he was running from me and started crying hysterically. I couldn’t stop. Man are my emotions WACKED… lol I woke up at 1:30, with pains in my stomach, scared me at first, but it’s just something I ate that day.
Yep that was my weekend… Sorry so long…

Jennifer, I for one would LOVE to see your us picture. And if you want to show it to us 100 times, we'll all tell you how beautiful it is each and every time. You have every right to be thrilled and excited and scared and to have to pee too. And phooey on those mean people. They are just jealous of yoru happiness. I'll send them a mental whop upside the head for you. And those emotions do suck. I'm still a total witch if that makes you feel any better.
Elenna, what a beautiful picture!!!! How exciting to see her/him and the heartbeat going strong. But a little scary to find a second sac. I'm assuming you mean that it did not develop so you are not pg with twins?
Very cute picture frame Mrs Hill. I bet they just loved knowing a grandchild is on the way!!

fsb2005 ~ Congratulations and welcome to the group!
boilermaker ~ Thank you.
lattee22 ~ Congratulations and welcome to the group! Our little girls are about the same age. Though DD won't celebrate her first birthday until next week. Sending you strong heartbeat vibes for Thursday.
E'sprincess ~ Congratulations on seeing the baby and seeing the heartbeat. It's always reassuring to see it the first time.
QOTD - Drinking ~ I really only have a drink on special events (holidays, our anniversary) so having to tell/explain people why I'm not drinking isn't an issue for me.
dpangel ~ Congratulations and welcome to the group!
Elenna ~ Sorry about the dry heaves.
LDS Angel ~ Glad to hear the numbers are going up. We want you to stick around with us as well. Hope the progesterone is just what you needed.
QOTD - Finding out gender ~ We found out with DD (me by accident, DH wanted to find out. He told me after we found out our two doggies had passed away while we were having the u/s done. He did it thinking it would cheer me up to know we were expecting a little girl. I had always wanted DH to be the one to tell me in the delivery room.). I'm not exactly sure what we will do this one. Part of me wants to wait and have it be a surprise but I do like to be able to buy clothes along, get the room decorated, etc. Guess we will see what we do as it gets closer to that time.
jenahdawn ~ Yes, he has a lot to learn about morning sickness. Just ask me (with DD I had morning sickness morning, noon, and night. It lasted 24/7 and didn't end when I reached the end of the first trimester, that's just when it got REALLY bad).
For those of you who have done this whole thing before, how long until you stopped checking every time you went to pee? (You know what I mean) AKA, how long until you stopped being paranoid?
Once I had spotting with DD (at 8 wks) I was constantly checking. It didn't last very long (2 days on and off) but it still had me very worried. A few days later we had an u/s and we were able to see that everything was fine with the baby, saw the heartbeat and that made me feel much better. I still didn't stop being concerned/worried until I was well into the pregnancy. Then I started worrying about the possibility of what could go wrong at the end of the pregnancy (my BIL and SIL lost their first baby just days before she went into labor - the cord got wrapped around his neck) so I worried about that and was constantly checking to make sure I kept feeling movement. Then after she was born there was a whole new set of worries to think about. I still worry to this day. I think it's a parent thing...you never stop worrying about your children. Take what happened last week to my DD (fell out of her chair and hit her head). You never stop worrying (or at least I haven't yet and I don't know any parent who has).
wagsgirl ~ Feel free to join both threads if you want.
MrsHill ~ I was due with my DD 6/23. I stayed with the June mommies. After DD was born and I felt like some of the otherr June mommas were ahead of us I joined the July thread. It just didn't feel like home and that was because I hadn't been with them through the pregnancy journal. I decided to stick with the June mommas. You can join both if you want.
busyBee ~ Congratulations and welcome to the group!
MrsHill ~ So you all like for people to put how far along you are in the subject line. When do you start that count? From your LMP? From your Ovulation date? Do you add 14 days from your Ovulation date? Cause all of those give me different dates to put at the top there.
I used my LMP even though I know it could be off (I had just come off BCPs and not quite 2 wks later I got my BFP). I'll know more of an exact due date after our first u/s but in the meantime I'm just using my LMP to figure my due date. Even with DD we were pretty sure we knew it happened and I went by my LMP. My first u/s had the baby measuring a few days ahead of that. It stayed that way until the very last 2 u/s I had done in which they said I still had about a week to go even though I was past my EDD. My OB never changed my EDD after the first 2 u/s because it wasn't more than a 2 wk difference in either direction. Your due date isn't exact anyway. It is an estimate of when you can expect the baby to arrive. Give it two weeks before and two weeks after.
Elenna ~ I'm thinking it might be too early to start having round ligament pains (usually it starts between 15 and 20 wks). Maybe it is stretching because I had stretching pains with my first pregnancy. I haven't had them too much with this one.
E'sprincess ~ Sorry about the comments. Don't let them bother you.
3D/4D Ultrasounds ~ I didn't look into them too much with DD because I had heard they were expensive. And there weren't any that were near us. After DD was born I found one place that is a couple of hours north of us that does them and I don't think they are all that expensive for all that you get. This particular place requires you to have already have had one u/s around 20 wks to make sure everything is okay/no problems. It also requires a letter from your doctor stating you've had the u/s, are under a doctor's care, etc.
__________________________________________________ __________
I had some more spotting yesterday evening. None today but I'm keeping an eye on it. Still having my morning sickness. We went out to eat on Friday with my mom. We went to a place that is sort of owned/run by our extended family and we got congrats on baby #2. I was more than a little surprised that they knew. Then we found out who told them...DH's grandma. I understand why she wanted to tell people but I wish she wouldn't tell anyone else. I feel it's our place to tell people (DH couldn't even tell his 2 brothers because she had already told them  ) when and if we want them to know. I would rather not tell anyone else until after the end of the first trimester and I know my risk of miscarriage isn't as high as it right now. Because of my thyroid problem the risk of miscarriage is VERY high. DH told her, one of his brothers, SIL that on Saturday evening so hopefully they got the point why we don't want anyone else to know just yet.

E'sPrincess - I'm sorry to hear you had such a craptastic weekend. Hopefully people will come around soon. Re: the EDD ... I only say this out cause I'm a little confused by this whole thing myself... But I'm not sure that the day you DTD has a whole lot to do with date of conception. You could DTD and ovulate 5 days later, and get pregnant (as is the case with my good friend who is due in 5 weeks). I'm sure the date you have listed for "your perfect little miracle" is pretty close on, in any case! :) BTW - I peeked in your journal and I love your house!
FSB - Yooooou should know better than to let every little temp fluctuation make you paranoid. ;) Remeber the big picture, sister! I am still temping - sort of - myself. If I'm up at 7am to do it, I do it ... but two days since the BFP I have gotten up earlier than that and forgot. I'm not worried about it.
Elenna - GREAT ultrasound picture! What a huge boost to your pregnancy confidence! Yeah, we live in Seattle. We're in the Mt. Baker neighborhood -- we love it here.
USAF - I'm sorry that your DH's grandmother is spoiling your news. I love my Nana, but she's 87, and she can't remember to keep a secret to save her life (after I made her promise to keep it a secret, she told her sister we were trying...), so I'm not telling her until we hear a HB. Also - good point about the other thread not feeling like home. It sounds like people really get to know the other mama's in your thread!

5weeks 5 days
Whew, this thread moves fast! I am feeling like a snail these days but I will try to keep up!
E'sPrincess wonderful that you got to see the heartbeat! I guess for me, if this pregnancy progresses I will be careful how I share the news. I think it's awesome that you are excited and happy, and I don't think the people at the party should have doubted your symtoms. But I do know, having had three early miscarriages before, that I would go to great lengths to avoid people who were pregnant or waving ultrasounds. It wasn't anything against them, it just made me feel my loss more.
usawifeITA that you should be the one to share the news on your own timetable! I am also having spotting- kind of a relief to know I am not alone.
Elenna Great ultrasound picture!
MrsHill Waving hello! Nice to see another over-30 year old on their first child.
QOTD I absolutely would want to know the gender. DH does too. :) I'm a planner, I need to have a good idea of how things are going to go.
Me I'm having more spotting. It seems to be more in the morning, then tapers off during the day. I moved the first scan up to this Friday, 6/23- I can't stand another weekend of not knowing what's going on.

Well we told our immediate families this weekend for Father's Day. Mostly because my mom wanted to share the news with my grandfather who we were visiting in the hospital. Everyone is really excited and handled the news a lot better than I imagined. Now we'll just see how long they can keep the secret ;)
I'm still confused on the EDD. According to babycenter if I go off my LMP then the EDD is Feb 28th but if I go off the conception date (which I know for a fact) then I get Feb 23rd. How can the conception date be earlier than the LMP, is that even possible?? Either way there's a slight possibility that I could go in March instead of Feb but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
QOTD - Has anyone ever looked into the 3d or 4d ultrasounds? They look so amazing.. I think I really want one. Anyone else?
Right now I'm not that interested, but who knows I might change my mind in a few months :p

Well, it's past 11, and I'm nauseas and can't sleep. Again. I took a Unisom, and am hoping to get through some QOTD's before it kicks in. My first question to the NP after she gave me my beta results was about sleep aids, as I've been battling insomnia since the 2WW (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=8033). She said Unisom was OK for 1st trimester & would also help with nausea. I wonder if they will help with nausea by knocking me out so I'm asleep and don't notice it. Whatever - I'm just glad to get some sleep.
Has anyone told family/friends/work yet?
I am a SAHW, so work knows. We told both sets of parents this past weekend. I told a cousin & my best friend from HS, who are both out of town and won't tell anybody else. My good friend Jeanne is a retired nurse -- she knows cause we go walking together once/week, and the NP called with my beta results while we were walking. That's it, until we hear the heartbeat.
Re: Symptoms
Who knew they'd start so soon?? Thursday (BFP day) I started having dull, achy cramps. Have had those on and off ever since. I have been nauseas daily, but have not thrown up. I've been dizzy -- the worst happening tonight when I was sitting at my computer. If I'd been standing, I think I would've fallen over. All of a sudden I had to grab onto the desk to keep from falling off my chair. I've been tired, but I can't make myself nap. I also get hungry quickly. I get irritable (I snapped at B, and I never snap at him!), but I think it's because I get tired and hungry. ;)
I also almost cried twice. Once because B was using "The Mad Voice" at me (it was totally my fault). The second time was because B was watching a trailer for a stupid-looking Jack Black movie (http://www.nacholibre.com/) and looked like he was really happy about it and I thought he wanted to see it, but I did not want to see that movie. I think the almost tears were more to over-tiredness than anything else.
My rings are also really freaking tight. I would hate to think I already couldn't wear them. I hope the bloating will go away soon.
What are you telling people about why you aren't drinking?
I drink about 3x/year, so it's not an issue for me. There's way too many calories in alcoholic drinks for me to imbibe them on a regular basis. I don't know if you're one of the Constant Dieters, FSB, but you might use that as an excuse -- tell 'em your jeans are getting tight and you're trying to cut out a few extra calories and alchohol is what you're cutting for now. If it doesn't work, you may have to move on to {Enter other oft-consumed food here} to fix the problem. So let's hope it's "just" alcohol - phew!
Re: Cravings
I've only had one craving so far, and it's gone now -- Meat. Wednesday (before I got my BFP), I was talking to B on the phone and asking him what he wanted for dinner. I told him I wasn't really hungry, and that maybe I'd just skip dinner. He said that was fine, he'd fend for himself when he got home. I hung up with him, and thought: "I want a HAMBURGER!" So I thawed some burger out (that never happens) and we had burgers & oven fries for dinner. Again on Friday -- "I want a HAMBURGER!" more burger got thawed out at the last minute. Saturday AM we met his mom & sisters for breakfast and I want MEAT again. I finally figured out it was a craving. "I want bacon and sausage," I told B. Probably just my body telling me I needed a little extra protien. Thank goodness it's over now.
anyone have a vibe that they might be having more than one baby?
Nahhh - I'm 99% sure I'm having a single. :)
Re: Father's Day
Way before I got my BFP, I got B a washed-out brown T-shirt. It had Snoopy wearing shades on it, and it says "Cool Daddy" in this retro print. For my Vince Guaraldi/Peanuts-loving husband, it was perfect. The day after I bought it, he made us a Tossing The Bouquet (http://www.vimeo.com/clip:76951) video and used Charlie's Blues for the song for it. Soooo perfect. I was trying so hard to keep my mouth shut!
Anyone else quit any maintenance meds when they found out?
I take a mild dosage of HCL (diuretic - NOT helping with the bloating, unfortunately!) to help with mild hypertension. Doc said it was a-okay to take during pregnancy. I would not want to think about what color my left ring finger would be without it.
Also - Bombera - I want you to know that you'll get all sorts of empathy on the weight issue / body consciousness from me. Story to be told at a later date.
Re: Finding out Gender
Probably not. We said Definitely Not before we were pregnant, then we were waffling for a while. I think I'd rather have it be a surprise, though. I feel like it's one of the last big ones I get. :)
QOTD - Has anyone ever looked into the 3d or 4d ultrasounds? They look so amazing.. I think I really want one. Anyone else?
Nope. They actually kind of freak me out a little. :o Maybe I'll feel differently once The Raspberry starts moving and kicking and I want to see what s/he looks like right now.
LA_Bride - Yay for ThirtySomethings! :D
And with that big novel... I think I'm all caught up!

E'sprincess: Sorry you had a bad weekend. I can't believe how rude the women at the purse party were. Count me in as another person who would love to see your ultrasound picture.
usafwife: That sucks that your DH's grandma is spreading the news and not giving you a chance to tell people yourselves on your own time. That happened to me when I got married. One very gossippy person at work told everyone about my wedding. So I didn't get a chance to tell anyone. I'm definitely not telling that person when and if I tell people here at work that I'm pregnant.
MrsHill: I've heard insomnia is a pregnancy symptom. Sorry you're suffering from it. I hope you got some decent sleep last night.
dpangel: That is confusing about the difference in the LMP and conception EDDs. The only thing I can think of that would do that is if the conception date was before day 14 of your cycle.
la bride: That's great you were able to move the scan up. I hope it'll give you the reassurance you need.
3d/4d ultrasound: I don't think we'll have one done. A cousin of mine had one. She liked it and thought it was worth it. But I just don't think I could spend the money on one.
Weird symptoms: Has anyone noticed odd things that might be symptoms. I've noticed a few since I got my BFP. First, my typing skills have gone to all heck. I just can't seem to be able to type anymore. It takes me forever to post because I'm spending so much time fixing typos and spelling errors.:o Second, I've become very forgetful. I think this one might be because I'm just so preoccupied with thinking about the baby. It is becoming annoying.
I'm learning how to brush my teeth without heaving.:o I just can't brush as long as I used to. I was always one of those people who'd brush for about 2 minutes. Now, I can't go longer than about 30-45 seconds before I start feeling the gag reflexes. I feel like I'm becoming a brushing maniac, trying to get done in record time.:)

MrsHill - you are so right about me knowing better than to let temp fluctuations bother me. It's just that it went from 98.8 to 98.3 and it looked like such a huge dip on the chart...now I know better at least. Also, I can't really use the alcohol = calories excuse, but thanks for the suggestion. I'm pretty thin, and people would look at me like I was nuts if I said that.
E'sprincess - those women sounded incredibly rude, sorry you had to deal with that.
usafwife - I've only told my mom, and I'm worried she's going to spread it around!
--------------------
Ok, with all this talk of symptoms -- is it ok that I'm not having a lot? I get some crampy twingy feelings a fair amount, and my boobs are bigger and more tender, but that's pretty much it. No nausea. Also -- while I was having huge hunger pains a week or so ago, I'm not really getting those anymore.
Arg, I really want to get to the heartbeat stage so I can stop wondering so much.

usafwife - Ugh, how annoying that you don't get to spread your good news yourself! Hope the spotting goes away and the morning sickness stays at bay.
la_bride_2004 - OOooohhh, so jealous you get an ultrasound this Friday! Don't worry, I'm also an over 30 momma here! :p
dpangel33 - I think if you use your LMP it assumes you o'd on CD14....since you actually o'd earlier than that, the reason why that due date is earlier. Usually when they do an ultrasound, they'll measure baby to figure out how big he/she is and may adjust your due date then.
MrsHill - I'm right there with you for craving meat. I snarfed a steak down last FRiday night at a dinner we went to and then we had to go to Taco Bell afterwards so I could get some more meat.
Elenna - Sorry you still are getting the dry heaves when brushing your teeth.
fsb - I think it is totally normal not to have a lot of symptoms. I think I read somewhere where morning sickness normally doesn't really kick in until week 6 when the progesterone level get higher and higher. You might just be one of the lucky ones who don't get morning sickness.
3d/4d ultrasound - I would love to get one, but I think I would have to travel 90 minutes to the nearest town that does one. Plus, I don't know if I can justify spending that kind of money when there are so many other things I could spend it on for the baby. I might ask DH to give it to me as a birthday gift though since my birthday is in October and I'll be past 20 weeks at that time.
Weird Symptoms - I notice I feel like I'm in a fog somedays and I notice I get dizzy. I also feel like I'm getting out of breath a lot easier especially after I climb up a flight of stairs.
Does anyone have any great web sites that they visit? I know I view the sites at pregnancydaily.com, babycenter.com but didn't know if there was other sites any of you looks at that you really like.

Fsb: It's ok that you're not having alot of symptoms. My symptoms are still very mild and somedays even non existent. Now, that I've learned how to brush without heaving and to eat every two hours, I'm not having much nausea problems. Yesterday, my RE said that some women are just lucky that way.
I forgot to add: la bride: Another 30+ first timer here, too!
