Charting Our Course to the BFPs
http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.
So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!
Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.
Your threadmistresses for this thread are gymwidow and cowgirl.
To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread after 5 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistresses would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if we get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.
If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test! :cool:
Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

How to link a chart from Fertility Friend:
Go to My Chart. In the Menu bar on the right hand side go down to sharing- then home page setup, the link will appear in a text box under the heading "Your Charting Home Page Web Address." Highlight the link and copy it to your signature or a post.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb
* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.
* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.
* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.
* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.
* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.
* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.
* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.
* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.
* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.
* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.
* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!
* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!
* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations
This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!
•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation
•AFNW: "Aunt Flo Not Wanted"; the day your period is expected to start, but you are hoping it doesn't!
•AO: anovulatory (cycle without ovulation)
•BBs: "boobs"; breasts
•BBL: "be back later"
•BBT: Basal Body Thermometer; This is used to measure your basal body temperature, when you wake up in the morning, after at least 3 hours of sleep, before you start to move around; Use a special BBT thermometer to take your temperature because they measure the small changes in temperature from day to day more accurately than the regular fever thermometers.
•BCP: Birth control pills
•BD'ing: "baby dancing"; baby-making intercourse
•BFN: "Big Fat Neutral" or “Big Fat Negative”; Negative pregnancy test.
•BF'ing: breast-feeding
•BRB: "be right back"
•CD: cycle day; a particular day in your menstrual cycle (example: CD1 is the first day of your period)
•CL: Cover Line; a visual tool used to separate the low (pre-ovulatory) temps from high (post-ovulatory) temps; a coverline is typically based on the temperatures 6 days prior to ovulation.
•CM: cervical mucous; one of the most useful clues your body can give you in predicting your fertility; it can range from dry, creamy, sticky, or (the most fertile) egg white/watery type.
•CF: cervical fluid; same as cervical mucus
•CP: cervical position; an optional, but sometimes really useful, fertility sign; CP will generally be low, firm and closed before and after ovulation, and high, soft and open during your fertile time.
•DD: "dear daughter"
•DH: "dear husband"
•DS: "dear son"
•DPO: Days Past Ovulation; number of days from your post-ovulatory temperature rise. (Example: 1DPO is the day after your ovulation)
•Endo: endometriosis (can be a fertility problem)
•EDC and EDD: estimated date of confinement (antiquated, but still used by physicians) and estimated date of delivery
•EPT: a brand of pregnancy test, or, generic for "early pregnancy test"
•EW or EWCM: egg white cervical mucus; the most fertile quality CM; it is slippery, clear and stretchy, like egg whites; also EWCF
•FAM: Fertility Awareness Method; the method of fertility and/or birth control that correlates the physical changes you experience during your cycle to predict when you are most fertile
•FF: Fertility Friend, an online (free, for basic services) fertility charting site (website); (could also be formula feeding; check context)
•FM: fertility monitor
•FMU: first morning urine
•FP: follicular phase; the phase before ovulation, where the egg matures in the ovaries
•FRED: First Response Early Detection (pregnancy test)
•HCG: human chorionic gonadotropin; the hormone that is present during pregnancy and what the HPT's and blood test measure to determine if you are pregnant
•HTH: "hope that helps"
•HPT: home pregnancy test; a urine pregnancy test you can take at home
•IMHO: "in my humble opinion"
•IMO: "in my opinion"
•IUI: intra-uterine insemination
•IVF: in vitro fertilization
•KU: knocked up
•LH: leutenizing hormone; the LH surge is what is measured by the OPKs; this hormone signals the egg to burst from the ovary
•LP: luteal phase; the phase of your cycle that begins just after ovulation and continues for 10-18 days, ending with the start of your next period; during the LP, your body continues to build up the lining of your uterus, and produce hormones which would support a pregnancy; this is the time when a fertilized egg can implant into the uterine lining
MBFP Mystery big fat positive- When you see a BFP in someone’s chart but they haven’t announced it yet
•NFP: Natural Family Planning; similar to FAM, but with abstinence during the fertile period
•O, Oing, Oed: ovulation, ovulating, or ovulated
•OPK: ovulation predictor kit; tests for presence of LH surge that usually precedes ovulation by 12-48 hours; these tests are quite expensive and not always accurate (if you take medication or depending on your age); these are optional when charting with FF, but if your fertility data is not clear it can bring more light and help interpret difficult cases
•OS: Ovusoft; charting software based on TCOYF
•PCOS: polycystic ovarian syndrome (a fertility problem)
•PG: pregnant
•PIAC: pee in a cup
•POAS: pee on a stick
•RE: reproductive endocrinologist
•SA: semen analysis
•SH: "sweet husband"
•SO: "significant other"
•SYS, SYL : See ya soon! or See ya later!
•TCOYF: Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler; a book and website about charting and fertility.
•TMI: "too much information" - There is no such thing when TTC!
•TTA: "trying to avoid"
•TTC: "trying to conceive"
•TTFN: "ta-ta for now"
•TTYL, TTYS: "talk to you later" or "talk to you soon"

checking in for the new thread.... congrats to JodyLovesScotty and phillytiger!!! Best wishes to you!
I'm at 13 DPO, and getting awfully antsy. This is one of the best looking charts I've ever had. I'll be testing tomorrow, I'm rather amazed I've held out this long.
Best of luck to everyone! Let's see those BFPs!

Gymwidow, I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you and it sound like you've got a good plan in order. I imagine it can be very, very frustrating at this point. Who knows, maybe resting your ovaries is just what you need and you might even do it on your own this month ;)
Also, you're very lucky to have a close friend that's an OB/GYN who can give you the real scoop, and that fact that he's supporting your doctor's decisions must really put your concerns at ease.
Thinking positive thoughts for you.

Threadmistress, thank you so much for the new thread!
CD 26 for me. I'm starting to think I O'ed late last night, or early this morning. Not quite sure. We didn't BD every day leading up to O, but every other day, which is pretty good for us. Usually, I have a hard time persuading DH into so much BD'ing.
I don't know what's up with my chart though. It seriously has this weird 'W' shape in it, and I also noticed that in my last month's chart as well. Maybe my hormones are really wacky.....that's all I need,really. :rolleyes:
I'm hoping that the increase in EWCM is going to stick around if we don't get a BFP this cycle. It made me feel good to know that my body was doing something normal.

Just checking in to the new thread (thank goodness!). Congrats JodyLovesScotty and phillytiger!! We had 2 this morning in the SWH thread too (well, philly was one of them), so this was a good morning!
I am at CD 10 or 13 with another big drop this morning. I have been going from 96.8 to 97.4 with nothing in between. I think this is so low. If I am not pg this cycle I may go to my GP and see about thyroid testing.

I'm feeling crampy today! :(
Sorry ladies no time for SOs but wanted to cross post my info on my day yesterday:
We ladies, I had my appointment with the RE yesterday -- it went okay but not as well as I had hoped. Here is how it went: DH and I went together and met the RE and had him take our histories, then RE gave me a pelvic exam while DH waited in the waiting room. Afterwards the RE sat down with us to discuss what our next steps were. He said my pelvic exam looked good and he thinks the reason DH and I are not getting pg naturally is because of my irregular cycles. He said basically since I am O'ing so late the eggs I am releasing are probably "over mature" and therefore are not as easy for DH's sperm to fertilize. We spoke about the fact that I am taking clomid this cycle and the fact that I had no O'd yet. He asked how I knew and I told him of the CBE fertility monitor, OPKs and temping. He actually told me to stop temping because it really cannot tell me the exact day of O'ing just that I did in fact O (something about temps rising b/c of progesterone and some women actually have a pre-O progesterone surge). Anyway, he said that since I had not Oed yet, he wanted to do an ultrasound to see what was going on and maybe we could do an IUI this cycle (due to my lack of CM from the clomid) and have this cycle not be a bust.
So then I was off to have an ultrasound. Turns out I had two good follicles -- one which was about 2.1 mm (?) and one that was 1.9. The doc had said before the u/s usually they like the follies to be about 2.0. Anyway, unfortunately my uterine lining was very thin (5.1 cm (?)) -- which is another bad effect from the clomid. So RE did not want to do an IUI this cycle b/c of the thin lining and his words were althought the clomid was working well, he did not want us to spend the $$ if he did not think I had a good chance to conceive this cycle and with the thin lining, implantation would probably be tough. He did give me a trigger shot to give myself last night and DH and I did BD to see what happens this cycle (he did not want me to wait any longer to O so that maybe the 1.9 follie could be fertilized).
So, our plan if I don't get pg this cycle is to do another round of clomid next cycle with monitoring and he will also give me estrogen to take to build up my uterine lining. We will then do an IUI since I have next to no CM from the clomid.
All in all it was a good meeting, but I guess I got my hopes up when we were doing the u/s that we would be doing an IUI this cycle and maybe I would be having a February baby. What really sucks is my insurance pays for none of this -- We had to pay for the u/s and trigger shot on our own and I can only imagine how expensive next month will be with the u/s monitoring and the IUI . . .
Anyway, I did trigger last night and DH and I did BD. I got a peak reading on my monitor today and fingers are crossed for this cycle, so we'll see . . .

Chris~n~Jen ~~ Lots of people get what they think are AF cramps before their BFP. You're still in it until the HO shows. Fingers crossed for you!
MrsR ~ That's a lot of information you've receive. Sucks that you have to pay for it all. Insurance is the worst. I wish the very best of luck for you!

Yeah for the new thread! Things feel much happier in here. :)
Congratulations jodylovesscotty and phillytiger!!! Happy and healthy 9 months to you both! I hope more of us can join you in the Feb mommies thread. :D
10 DPO here and I'm actually not all that anxious about testing. I think because I was already 5 or 6 DPO before FF called my O, so it seems to be going faster. I will try to hold out testing until next Thursday or Friday.
I agree with the others, there are some really pretty charts out there! Chris~n~Jen, your chart looks great and this is the longest LP you've had, right? Even if you did O on CD 18, I think your chances are great! LDS Angel, yours is looking good too! Good luck testing tomorrow!
Tealynn, I'm so sorry about the m/c. It sounds as though you are really taking it well, but don't forget that we are all here for you if you need to talk. **HUGS**
MrsR, it sounds like you have a good plan in place. That really stinks about the insurance not covering anything. Yay for good follies! Lets hope you get a BFP this cycle and don't even have to worry about next month!

Right after I started feeling the cramps I went to the bathroom and sure enough AF is here. So frustrating! :( This was my longest LP and even with the possiblity of a CD18 O it was still longer than usual for me. What's odd is that my temp actually went up a tiny bit this morning. I'll have to review my charts and see if I had temp drops the previousl months. Can't seem to remember for sure for some reason right now.
:( :mad: :( :mad:

Hey everybody, haven't been here in a while! Congrats to jodylovesscotty and phillytiger!!!! H&H 9 months to you two! Sorry about AF, Chris~n~Jen. :(
I decided to try out acupuncture when AF came last time, so I've had two visits so far. It's a little whacky, but my temps seemed to have calmed down a little since I started it, so it must be doing something! I don't usually have steady temps, so it's kind of nice to have a clean looking chart. Hopefully I'm Oing today or very soon because next week, DH and I will be apart for 3 days and unable to BD for at least another 2 after that! I'm going on vacation with my family and he's got to work. He'll meet me there, but we won't have any privacy. If I do O soon, the 2WW should be a bit more bearable this month, since I'll be on vacation the entire time! After my family vacation, DH and I are going on our own vacation, taking a road trip to Carson City, NV, then Tahoe for SIL's wedding.

Holy Moly! I was hoping for some good news, and we seem to have gotten it in doubles! Congrats & good luck to JodylovesScotty and Phillytiger!
MrsR - It sounds like your RE knows what he's doing. Insurance is the worst. Here's hoping you get the quick results, and your wallets stay in your pockets.
Chris~N~Jen - I'm so sorry!! You know we were all pulling for you. I can't remember now - have you made your Dr's appointment yet?
As for me, I'm ovulating today. I had a Negative OPK this morning, and my temp is still down. B is on board for one more go at it this evening 'just in case.' He has been so unbelievably great this week. I told him that, and he responded with (look out, Star Wars joke incoming), "Stay on Target! Stay on Target!" *snicker*
In any case, I have made a conscious decision not to test eight million times this month. I'm setting a date one day past my longest LP ever, and testing then (assuming, of course, that she-who-is-not-to-be-named does not show up before that). That will be 14 DPO. So this morning, I sent B an invitation to the following Outlook Meeting:
Subject: TEST DAY
Date: June 16, 2006
Time: 7:00 AM
Location: Our Bathroom
He accepted the meeting. ;)
So therefore, Threadmistress, you can move me to I Think I O'ed. I'll be testing on June 16.
And with that, I'm off to Costco to get one of these babies (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=10034085&whse=&topnav=&browse=&s=1).
Go eggie! Go spermies -- Tackle that egg! Fight Fight Fight!

Congrats Jody and Phillytiger! I'm so happy for you.
Tealynn, I'm sorry for your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
You can move me to waiting to O. AF arrived lightly yesterday and in FULL force today (I really don't want to be at work as it is that bad).
I found at yesterday that a TTC buddy IRL is expecting #2 at the end of the year. It took her 4 years to conceive the first and 1 1/2 years to conceive this one. I'm just so excited for her but I was really hoping that we could be pregnant together and due around the same times.

Congrats, jodylovesscotty and phillytiger!!!! Fingers crossed, LDS, ChicagoKate, & ptcrn!
tealynn, I am so sorry. You have a wonderful attitude about it, though, and I wish you luck :).
Chris~n~Jen, I actually think you O'd on CD15, so the good news is that your LP is probably longer than usual. I really hope things go well at the doc.
Mrs.R, did the doc mention giving you progesterone during your LP? It helps prolong the LP, making it easier for the egg to implant. After it does, you can safely take estrogen to help the lining continue to build.

I am a complete CC junkie today. I can't seem to put my mind on anything else.
MrsHill that is a super cute story about the Outlook meeting w/ your hubby-the fact that he accepted the meeting is even cuter!
ptcrn and Kanga,thanks for the positive thoughts. I'm finding myself a little emotional today but maybe it's just left over hormones.
ChrisnJen, I'm really not trying to get your hopes up but I was convinced that I was getting ready to have AF and I had 2 days of heavy spotting before I got my BFP. The fact that your temp is up and not down definitely makes me think it's not over yet.
MrsR, good luck w/ catching the egg. Maybe this trigger shot will do it and you won't have to spend any more money!
Can some tell me how to start a new chart on FF? I'm sure it's obvious but I'm feeling a little dingy today...

Chris~n~Jen, I actually think you O'd on CD15, so the good news is that your LP is probably longer than usual. I really hope things go well at the doc.
Ok, resident expert :p , why do you think I O'd on CD15. I'm not the best at chart interpretting so please explain your reasoning. :) That would make me happy to know that my LP was longer.
tealynn ~ I have heard stories like that but this is definalty AF. Bright red! I was thinking it was odd that my temp was up also. :confused:
MrsHill ~ Your outlook story is to cute! I made the doctors appointment today but then said they couldn't see me until after July 14th because of my insurance. :confused: Not really sure what that's about so I'm going to be reading through my insurance documents this weekend. I know they also scheduled me for my annual so I'm wondering if she was just thinking about the annual. But I did tell her I wanted to talk to the doctor about some concieving issues and especially my short LP's. After I have more insurance info, I may call back on Monday and try to push it more.
Kanga ~ I know exactly how you feel about people IRL having babies. Chris's cousin specifically waited until after our wedding to start trying for #2. Her oldest is the same age as our neice and we wanted her youngest to be around the same age as our first. She knew we were going to start trying after the wedding. So we both started TTCing at the same time. She is 5 months along already and is having a boy!!! :(
Good luck to everyone testing or trying to catch the eggies!

Could you move me to testing the week of June 12?
did the doc mention giving you progesterone during your LP? It helps prolong the LP, making it easier for the egg to implant. After it does, you can safely take estrogen to help the lining continue to build
flygirl -- no he did not, I think basically the thought was on this cycle to see what happens and start on the estrogen next cycle. I will call them though and ask about the progesterone/estrogen option. You are soooo knowledgeable!!
thanks ladies for all the good thoughts -- I too am hoping we caught the egg last night and this trigger will be all we need but I am not too hopeful since my lining is so thin this cycle. Also, I keep beating myself up about the fact that the RE said we should have come to see him once we had been trying for 6 months -- umm, I always thought it was a year -- I just keep thinking, if I had seen him 6 months ago, I might already be pg and be having a baby before I turn 33 (which since I turn 33 in early March, unless I do by some chance get pg this cycle, I will (hopefully) be 33 when I have our baby). Anyway, even though the RE told me I shouldn't temp unless it makes me feel better, I will probably keep charting in any event.

Wow! A brand new thread and it is moving fast! I'm liking the trend of two bfp's in one day so let's keep it up! :D A huge congratulations to phillytiger and jodylovesscott, that is just so exciting!!!
Well, not a lot new to report on my end. I'm on CD26 and accoring to ovusoft I'm 8dpo and according to ff I'm 9dpo. I'm still feeling crampy today but they're really dull "achey" cramps and I've had them since CD24. :o I also still have no breast tenderness to speak of at all. Argh. I'm not feeling very optimistic. :rolleyes:
I'll pop back in a little later and do s/o's. Who knows, by then maybe we'll have another bfp from someone? :p Oh, and I'm going to follow jenjen0713 and go roll around in all that lucky baby dust!!!

Chris~n~Jen (btw, my brother's name is Chris, so your name makes me smile :). I've heard that phrase most of my life.): I can only go by what you've charted, so take this with a grain of salt. If CD14 is your last day of fertile CM, then it would make sense to O around then, and you have an obvious temp rise on CD16. That would put your CL at 97.8, which is inline with your previous CLs. If you had any fertile CM after that, then an O on CD18 or even 20 would make more sense, but unfortunately that spells trouble for your LP. I hope you can get a consult with your doc before July.
Tealynn, just check "menses" on your first day of actual bleeding. You can also check "miscarriage" in under "Specifc Situations." That will start a new chart with the day of the m/c as CD1.

tealynn, awww, that is so sweet. I've been thinking about you also. I am so sorry that you've been dealt this hand. I hope we can put your name back into the grads list again soon.
MrsJackson & polkadot, I hope you caught that egg!
MrsR, glad that you had a pretty good appt. Your follies are probably 21 and 19 mm; anything over about 18 is good for Oing. I'm glad you got the trigger (is so nice to know for sure when we O!) and I hope that you never even have to get to IUI.
Chris~n~Jen, hugs. I'm so sorry.
armadillo, I'm glad to hear that the acupuncture might already be working something on you. I'm planning to try and hope to start soon. I called several local acupuncturists today to get more info.
MrsHill, I like that plan! Good luck in the wait.
kanga, hugs. That's wonderful news about your friend and I hope that you still will get to share pg experiences together!
j*east, welcome!
As for me, I'm enjoying my time "off", although I did contact my RE's office to get info on IVF, just in case. I have a list of insurance codes to call into my insurance company to see what I might be able to get covered. I think all my meds would be covered, which is good, and some of the procedures (u/s, b/w). I'll do that next week.
Have a good weekend everyone!

So many BFPs around the threads today! Makes me nervous and excited all at once. Congrats to JodyLovesScotty & PhillyTiger!!!
Chris N Jen....I am so sorry. I know everyone was rooting for you and when you have so much build up it only makes it harder when AF shows.
Myself...CD24, 8DPO, lots of creamy CM today. This is my first cycle charting and I'm pretty impressed with my chart. I had worried that it was going to be all over the place but it seems to follow a normal pattern. I'm going to test Sunday morning even though I know that's pretty early. I have three tests sitting under my sink so if not Sunday, I'll test Monday. If not Monday I'll test Wed. If not Wed...well then I give up!
I don't have time for all the responses but good luck to those of us testing in the next few days! And for those of you waiting to O, good luck in folliculating a good egg ;)

Welcome j*east, it is good to see you here.
Thanks for the new thread threadmistress, I appreciate how quick you are to update!
Chris~n~Jen - Bummer about AF, what a up and down cycle this has been! Are you still going to the gyn? With your short luteal phase (I have that also) there are lots of tests and things that can be done.
MrsR - Best wishes on this cycle, crossing my fingers for you!
kanga1622 - Sorry about getting AF, especially at work on a friday! I hope that you can share part of a pregnancy with your friend. I have a good friend who is pregnant and I SO hoped to be preg at the same time. It doesn't look like it will work out that way (unless I catch her last trimester).
I hope I didn't miss too many SO's, there was A LOT going on in this thread today!
Update: I'm in the boring part of my cycle, CD7. I don't ovulate for another 1 1/2 weeks so it's b-o-r-i-n-g. DH and I did talk about TTC tonight during our date (we usually go out on friday nights) and are back on the same page for trying. :)

Woo hoo! :D Congrats to phillytiger and JodyLovesScotty! It's about time!
I'm thinking positive for those chasing down the egg, in the 2WW and those testing soon. As for AF, well she's lame, sorry if she visited you.
MrsHill, that's a lot of work you did on the names. It's great. I'll use it for sure, thanks!
Polkadot, it stinks that you're frustrated. I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with the monitor. I hope it shows that you O'd soon so you can relax a bit and just deal with the 2WW(so relaxing!;) ).
I still don't know if/when I ovulated. My chart doesn't show O yet, but my EWCM dried up last Friday, the same day I got a +OPK, so I assumed I O'd on Friday or Sat, but my temp hasn't consistently gone up. Anyway, I assumed I O'd on Saturday a week ago, so I went for b/w as instructed yesterday to check my progesterone to see if it's low. She also wanted a thyroid test, so even if I didn't O, at least the test will tell us something about my thyroid. I'll find out Tues or Wed. Maybe that test will tell me when I O'd too. That's all that's going on with me. No pregnancy symptoms, so I'm getting bummed already. I get so depressed when AF comes. I really don't want to see her next week.

Geek :p
Polka, I never got a peak reading the one and only time I used the monitor and I have no idea why. However, I think the clomid & estrogen are affecting the monitor. From the CBE website (http://www.clearplan.com/FAQCPEFMTopicTOP9FAQs.cfm):
You may still use the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor if you are taking Clomid®, but please be aware that Clomid® may affect the Monitor's interpretation of your fertility status.
While using Clomid®, High Fertility may start early in your cycle and you may have more High days because of the increased levels of estrogen.
The display of Peak Fertility may also be affected. Peak Fertility is primarily dependent on the detection of a significant increase in luteinizing hormone, also known as the LH surge. However, because Clomid can cause unusually high estrogen levels, in some cases the Monitor may not show Peak Fertility even when you are ovulating.

Ohhhhh yeeeeeah. And proud! :D
lilhimley- it actually took an amazingly short amount of time. I thought it would've taken me DAYS! But a couple of hours on the boys and a couple on the girls, and BAM! Done. (The girls side was harder than the boys side -- mostly cause I didn't know how to pronounce a lot of those names & had to look more of them up at behindthename.com)
As expected, I had a pretty nice temp jump today. We had what I would consider really good timing. We've done all we can, and now I get to let go for two whole weeks. After holding on so tight for the last seven months, it feels both scary and liberating at the same time. Like letting go of the high bar and hoping to catch the low one. Wheeeeeeeeee!

lilhimley ~ Try discarding the temps you got at CD17 and CD19 to see if FF will give you an O date of CD22. I'm thinking that's what's throwing you off.

Wow! Another bfp!!! Congrats Sebski!!! :D :) :D :)
Man oh man am I hoping some of this potent baby dust rubs off on me! I have to admit that I'm not feeling super optimistic about this cycle. I'm trying to stay hopeful but here I am on CD27, 10dpo, POAS and only have received bfn (yest I know it's early still), and no symptoms whatsoever (unless you count higher than normal daytime temps since yesterday and achey cramps/headache for several days). Also, my temp took a dive this morning. It went from 98.11 down to 97.74. Like I said though, I'm trying to stay positive and talk myself into staying optimistic. It sure is easier to doubt that you're preggo than it is to believe that you are though isn't it? AF isn't due to arrive according to my cycle predictions until Wednesday/Thursday so I guess I'll know for sure within a week.
It appears as though this thread is on a roll with the bfp's ladies... so hopefully many more of us can jump on that bandwagon! ;)

Me, still taking a break....and still feeling strangly PG. I am CD 20 and I actually thought I was PG through AF and shortly after, and still feeling weird, but haven't tested. I ussually O between CD18-21 and last night DH and I had some unprotected "special time!!". I had totally miscounted (probably the stress of moving and such has my brain on hyperdrive). So I dunno. Lets hope I Od on Thursday...or maybe not...i just don't know if after resigning myself to being baby-less for a few more years if I'm emotionally geared up to get a bfp now.
Anyway, just wanted to hi girls. Hopeing for a great month for all of us.

Congratulations to all the BFP'S, most recently Sebski and LDSAngel! YEAH!
I have to say that looking at the number of BFP's on the first page of this thread helped me decide to join it and start charting. :)
My chart is now four days old. It seems that the longer I sleep (8 and 9 hours the last two days instead of 7 or fewer on the weekdays), the lower my temp gets. That's my brilliant revelation so far. ;)
Thanks all for more welcomes! :) I love the positive vibrations this thread gives off!

cross posted from SWH:
BFN this morning but it's still early at only 10 DPO so I'm trying not to be bummed. With all the other BFPs though it's kinda hard. And I didn't wake up at 6:30 like normal to temp and forgot about it at 8:00 when I POAS so I temped after that so that number is all messed up. It was much easier last month when I didn't test at all. I think I'll do that next month again if that's the case.

miaclear~ i think that 10 DPO is still kinda early to get a BFP...hold out a few more days...your chart is looking really good...
ChicagoKate~ i also think your chart is looking great...keeping fingers crossed....:D
as for me~ well this monring has confused me further. My temp is still going down instead of up...but i have gotten two + OPK's, and yesterday the cramping was unbelievable...if i had to go only on O pain i would say that I Oed yesterday.. so that makes it even more confusing...i will have to see what the day brings in cramping and O like symptoms. I know that had i not been on cloimd I would be about ready to O so i guess we will just keep on bding...and see what happens...we cant do it tonight b/c dh has his SA tomorrow but after that we will just keep on keeping on...what else can I do? This is so frustrating...if it doesnt happen this cycle I think my doc will up the clomid and monitor me for the next cycle so i may not temp or use the monitor...we will have to see....thanks for thinking of me...

polkadot, gosh, I'm bummed that you're getting mixed signals. That's so frustrating. I hope it clears up for you.

Well, I still have the dull achey cramps but at least it seems my headache of the past 8 days is finally gone! Also, my cervix went from firm to medium yesterday and moved from low, to midway and today it is still medium and has moved up pretty high. Does this mean that AF is about to drop in? It seems a little early for her to be popping in her nasty head so I'm thinking that CP doesn't carry much weight in the 2ww.
Oh, and my temp doesn't really count for today because I couldn't sleep for the life of me last night. Finally, after 4 AM I fell asleep. So, I didn't take my temp until way later than the norm. Boo! Since I was up so late I watched one of the movies I rented since DH is gone right now and ladies, if you haven't seen "In Her Shoes" run out and rent it! It was fabulous!!!
Lots of luck to everyone waiting to test and to those chasing after that little eggie! Oh, and another happy, happy congratulations to all you ladies that have gotten your bfp's! :D

Hi everyone!
I am a brand new charter who, after a while of lurking, wanted to finally join the thread. I see from all the good news that it's a particularly happy time here! My congratulations to all of you. :)
Anyway, here are my stats:
CC Name: kris97
Me: Kristin, 31
DH: Ryan, 31
Married since: 5/2/4
TTC since: 4/06
Charting since: 5/06
Known issues/test results:
Chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/12de87
If I might ask for help from all of you who are so much more knowlegeable than me... can you tell me if by my chart, it looks like this month is a bust? I started temping mid month, but I think I caught the thermal shift. I've tested yesterday and today, but so far, BFN. No real sign of my period. The last three months have been clockwork 31 day cycles, so I'm kind of confused. ANyway, any insight you could share would be so helpful.
I'm excited to join and meet you all. :)

I'm back from my trip!! We had a great time in Sicily, kind of sad to be back at work. :(
First, congrats to all the BFPs I missed! We needed some good news in here!
Second, I just updated my chart. I tried to temp while we were gone, and though I think they confirm O, I'm not putting a lot of stock into the realiablity of my post-O temps (i.e. no analyzing for an implantation dip or triphasic temps for me this cycle). The 6 hour time difference makes a big difference.
But, anyway, Threadmistress, can you move me to Think I O'ed- Testing 6/5-6/11? Thanks...
Also, welcome Kris!

06-05-2006, 07:12 AM
Welcome kris97! I definitely think you O'd based on your chart. Are you 12DPO? That's still very early to get an accurate result. I would wait a couple more days and then test again if no AF. Good luck to you!!
~~~~~~
For me ~ 13DPO, temp still up but BFN this morning. I'm okay with that as we're going to Mexico in a couple of weeks and I'd really like to partake in some tequilla beverages there. Plus I was sick during my O dates. I'll wait and test again in two days if AF doesn't show. So far no AF or EPS at all.
06-05-2006, 07:36 AM
kris97 - sorry, didn't answer your question. It's not the most promising sign ever to have your temps drop like that at 12 DPO, but of course you never know -- I'm sure there are people who have been pregnant with temps exactly like that.
On the cycle length, while it is odd that you've always had exactly 31 day cycles and now you aren't, what really matters is the luteal phase length. The exact date that you O varies (though some people are like clockwork), but your luteal phase length usually stays the same, give or take a day or two (normal length is 12-16 days).
So you probably just O'd a couple of days later than normal this cycle, which is why your overall cycle length is longer too. I think I remember from your LJ that your last cycle went over 31 days too -- it really is normal for your cycle length to vary.
Also, one more thing -- unless you're uncomfortable with it, it's somewhat helpful for chart interpretation to publish your intercourse data. Fertility Friend has an option under Sharing -> Home Page Setup to publish that data.
Welcome Kris. Your chart doesn't look too promising but it ain't over till AF shows. :D
Nothing new here. AF is on her way out but will still probably hang on for another day or two. Hopefully tonight DH and I can start planning our baseball trip that will happen later this month. Congrats, Sebski & LDS!!! H&H the remaining 8 months :).
ChicagoKate, if it's any consolation, I think CD17 was a delayed O, as was CD20, and I think you O'd CD23. It's rare to have that much fertile CM after an O, and an O at CD23 makes your coverline about 98.3, which is what it was last cycle. Did your BDing match up with that? If so, don't worry about your BFN; you have another week :).
Glad you had a nice trip, fsb2005! If your CM is correct, then don't worry about your temps. Just keep thinking about how perfectly timed your BDing was ;).
Welcome, Kris. Based on your temps, it looks like FF called your O correctly. However, if you're TTC, it's much more important to note your CM, since that's your only major sign leading up to O. fsb did an excellent job explaining the LP :).
ETA: Kris, totally understandable that you don't feel quite ready to share everything, but if you're like *everyone* else in this thread, there will be no such thing as TMI by your next 2ww :D.
CONGRATS to sebski & LDS!! Happy & Healthy 9 months to you! :)
Welcome j*east & kris. Hope you stay is short and sweet.
As for me: Just waiting to O. My temps have been up and down the last few days and the OPK test was negative this morning. However, I have had strong pains in the right side of my lower stomach, which I always get before I O. Plus (TMI) I have been really constipated the last fews days. I actually had to take something to relief some of the pressure yesterday morning so I could get through church and the baptism of my godchild.
Good luck to everyone else trying to catch the eggie. Sorry if AF showed for others.
Not much new with me. It's nice not worrying about shots or anything just yet. I started acupuncture on Saturday and am going to go 1-2 times a week. I'm going again next Saturday, after I have my next round of b/w on Wednesday to see if my body decided to work on its own this month. I'm kind of hoping it does, b/c I don't really want to have to start shots again yet, but I also don't want to waste a whole cycle, you know? We'll see in 2 days!
polkadot, I second what flygirl said. My RE told me that the Clomid can affect OPKs and he recommended I not use them while on it. The monitoring by the RE is so much better for your emotions - it takes all this annoying guesswork out of things and allows you to relax a lot more during your cycle.
ChicagoKate, your chart looks so promising! I've got my fingers crossed for you!
Sebski & LDS Angel, big congrats to you both! What wonderful news!!! H&H 9 months to you!
flygirl ~ Thanks so much for the input! It's funny b/c when I use the Research detector on FF instead of the Advance detector, FF gives me solid crosshairs at CD23. So-- you are probably on to something! I'll give it a few more days before testing. CD23 is more on track with how late I've been O'ing the last two cycles. (And I added my BDing data too, since I'm in a sharing mood at the moment!)
FYI-- I saw Alternative Medicine magazine (http://www.alternativemedicine.com/retailer/store_templates/shell_id_1.asp?storeID=02AD61F001A74B5887D3BD11F6C 28169)at the WholeFoods and it has an issue right now on fertility. Could be interesting to some people. I haven't gotten through it all but it does talk about the benefits of accupuncture, how to get your body ready to get pregnant, etc. An interesting read. . .
LDS - Thanks for the baby dust!!
ABirney - Sorry AF found you! :(
Kris97 - Welcome...I agree with PP, that maybe you O'd later this month than in previous months, thus why a longer cycle.
fsb - Glad you had a good time on your vacation! Will you look at all that BDing on your chart!! Timing looks excellent!
ChicagoKate - I'm also wondering if you didn't O later than what FF has you at. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! :)
kanga1622 - What a fun trip you are planning!
jessied1025 - Hope you get a +OPK this week. Could those pains you were having be related to your other "issue"??
Teacher Jessica, a headache can definitely be a PG sign! When are testing?
Chicago Kate, keeping my fingers crossed for you! Hopefully you can keep the positive streak going...
I'm kind of in limbo at the moment, I really want to try again right now but hubby wants to wait until after our vacation in July. I've had a hard time remembering to temp recently so I need to get serious about that. I'm not even really sure what to expect... Argh! My post got eaten. Twice! Therefore, I'll get to s/o's later today. Poo. Oh, but I did want to answer Tealynn~ yep, I've tested. Since 7dpo (:D ). I've been testing since pretty early because I've got a gazillion internet cheapies! I've received nothing but glaring bfn's though.
Well, CD29 and 11/12 dpo for me. My temp shot up to 98.4 this morning which is my highest temp yet this cycle. Dare I say I'm hoping this is a good sign even though I have ZERO pregnancy symptoms!
Now, I have a question... my last cycle was 31 days long. I ovulated on day 15 and had an LP of 16 days. So, since I didn't O until later in this cycle does this mean I'm possibly looking at a cycle of 34 days? :eek: I have never, NEVER, had a cycle that long. Wouldn't you know that my cycle is a totally normal (I say normal with eyes crossed) 28-day cycle up until the moment we start TTC?!!? What in the world? :confused:
Lots of luck to you ladies! Lets hope this string of wonderful bfp's continues! ;)
wow - lots has been happening around here. Congrats to those with BFP's! be sure to leave us lots of Baby dust!
could someone take a look at my chart? I guess I'm at the point now where I should be noticing a dip soon? or does not everyones chart dip when they o?
thanks.
Janey
06-05-2006, 11:03 AM
Sneak - Not everyone notices a dip when they O. I don't have them myself. Consistent temp rise + CM Dry-up will confirm your O. So, it'll take at least 3 more days for you to confirm your ovulation.
Jessica - Yes, you could be looking at a longer cycle. A woman's LP usually stays approximately the same month-to-month. After a few months of charting (Again, if you need 'em!), you will begin to see an overall pattern.
Woohoo for our BFPs!!! Congrats, LDS and Sebski!!! H&H 9 months!
Gymwidow, check out my chart! I added a checkbox for my acupuncture treatments and if you compare my pre-O temps from previous months to this month with the acupuncture, you can totally see a difference! I have my third treatment today. I was told that it would probably take 2 months of once a week treatments to get my body back in gear, then I'd only go see her 2x before O each month til I get PG. She's had quite a few successes with it, so I'm hoping she can add me to her list soon!
I started vacation last weekend, but had to come into work today and tomorrow. I go back on vacation from Wednesday til Monday June 19th. So hopefully my 2WW will fly by, since we'll be busy!
Tell me more about this accupuncture treatment armadillo. How much does it cost? How did you find a center to get it done?
I am CD27 11DPO, tested again just now and another BFN. That's what I get for buying four tests the last time. When they're not in the house I can wait. Still early to tell and my temps are still high. I'm talking myself into a lot of pregnancy symptoms this time around to, naseau and strong smells:rolleyes: AF is due Friday and I still have one test left so if I can I'll hold out till Wed or Thursday....yah right.
Miaclear, I get a deal with my health insurance and I pay $30/visit. Her regular price is $65/visit. I already had an acupuncturist I was seeing about a year and a half ago for some other issues (I had really bad tendonitis that was on its way to becoming carpal tunnel), so when I decided I needed help TTCing, I just called her up again. I found her originally via my massage therapist who recommended her. But if you want to check to see if your health insurance covers it (mine doesn't necessarily COVER it, it just gives me a good deal on the treatments), they'll have a list of participating providers you can go see. Sometimes they'll even tell you if they specialize in fertility treatments. Good luck with your testing!!!
Thanks for the info armadillo. My Health Insurance has a program for discounts on wellness things that aren't covered so I'm going to check it out and see if accupuncture is one of them.
So, today Brian went to the uroligist to get the SA well...its didnt go as well as planned....it looks like we have yet another obstacle in our way on the road to a Polka-Tot.....Brian has varicocele.
Quote:
Varicocele is a mass of enlarged veins that develops in the spermatic cord, which leads from the testicles (testes ) up through a passageway in the lower abdominal wall (systeminguinal canal) to the circulatory system. The spermatic cord is made up of blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, nerves, and the duct that carries sperm from the body (vas deferens). If the valves that regulate bloodflow from these veins become defective, blood does not circulate out of the testicles efficiently, which causes swelling in the veins above and behind the testicles.
A varicocele can develop
Because of the impaired circulation of blood created by a varicocele, the blood does not cool as it does normally. The increased temperature of the blood raises the temperature of the testes, which is believed to contribute to infertility, as heat can damage or destroy sperm. The increased temperature may also impede production of new, healthy sperm.
So thats the newest thing we have to deal with. The doctor saw it the second he loked at B. He didnt even need to do the exam but did anyway. He wants Brian to do the Sa anyway just to see what his count is now. The doctor said that some men can get their wifes pregnant, and others cant it really depends on the blockage. He assumes that B's count will be low b/c the varicole is grade II or III which is pretty severe. He is going to need surgery to repair this and hoepfully improve his overall fertility. I am not totally upset b/c it has a treatment option and has been showed to improve fertility....so...we will do the SA in 4-5 days it will take 10-12 days for the results then we will procede with the surgery.
I am going in for cycle day 21 bloodwork on Wednesday and will probably make an appt with my dr. for that day too. I dont want to continue to take the Clomid if our chances arent very good at this time. I know they dont like to use Clomid over a long period of time...so I need to talk to the doctor about the next step. But B and I have already decided that there will be no temping, no monitor, and no OPK's we are just going to have a great summer and wait till this is fixed before getting too stressed out...
thanks for listening this is kinda long...but HUgs to everyone...
Oh I need to be updated:
Known issues: Me: Irregular O, and low Progest. CLomid 50mg May 06
DH Varicocele 5/06
Sherb
Polka -sorry to hear that there are issues. But at least if you know the problem you can fix it?. And there seems to be a relatively easy fix to Brian's issue. ((((hugs)))) Good luck.
I'm sorry that I can't continue the string of BFPs in this thread but AF showed today. On to the next cycle. Third time's a charm? Maybe?
Gah! This thread moves fast during the days!!
j*east ~ I don't think I ever said welcome!! Hopefully, you're stay here is SHORT!
miaclear ~ Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Your chart still looks pretty good! I'm always horrible about testing early if I have extra tests! I actually haven't had any for the last few months, because after I used them all up, I haven't bought any more, and I've waited until at least my normal LP to test, and AF has faithfully shown up.
ChicagoKate ~ Your chart's looking pretty nice, too! Dude...all that BDing on there makes me tired! ;)
teacher_jessica ~ I'm sounding like a broken record here, but that's a nice looking chart, too!! 8 days of EWCM?!? I'm lucky if I have 2! I'm happy your 8 freaking day HA is gone! I'd go crazy. I have frequent HAs, but I'd kill someone if any of them lasted that long! Oh, and my cycles were 28 days like clockwork before TTC. Now, I don't think I've had one be 28 days since! I think just the constand thinking about it messes with my O date, thus changing up my cycle length.
ABirney ~ Sorry AF showed. :( Good luck with the meds this cycle!
Kris97 ~ WELCOME!! Hopefully you won't be here too long (I always think that sounds so rude ;) )! I agree that your temp drop today doesn't look that promising, but ya never, ever know! It's not over till she shows! And, I agree with the others. Pretty soon, there will be no such thing as TMI. Sometimes when people preface something in another thread with "TMI" I read it, and think...they think *that* is TMI? Ya just become used to it in here, I guess!
fsb2005 ~ Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great trip! Hopefully there'll be a little Italian-made baby soon!
jessied1025 ~ Let the BDing begin! :D
gymwidow ~ Hopefully the acupuncture works for you! I've heard a little about it, but now I'm more curious and am going to have to go read up on in a little!
jenjen0713 ~ I always think that "waiting to O" seems longer than my 2w(and 2day)w! I think it's because my chart goes from having all that info on it, to only a little, and it seems so sad. Maybe??
MrsJackson05 ~ I have dips like that after O too sometimes. Maybe it's just the way you were sleeping or something. Here's hoping you caught the eggie!!
tealynn ~ I can totally understanding no knowing exactly what to do, and how serious about TTC to be! Maybe just relaxing, and not temping would be what you needed! Either way, I hope you'll stick around!
Sneak ~ I seem to always get a dip on the day of O, but I know that not everyone does. I think that you CM and OPKs are a pretty good indicator that you should see those pretty crosshairs soon!
Polka ~ I'm so sorry about yet another obstacle for you guys! But, you're right...at least this has a treatment. Sucks that y'all will probably have to wait at least a few more months, but there *is* still the hope that it can happen before the surgery, right? Hopefully taking a break from all the temping and stuff will help as well. HUGS to you!!
I've probably missed some people, and more than likely crossposted with like 10 other people!
AS for me...
I'm on CD13 and had a pretty big temp drop this morning. I've had some decent EWCM yesterday and today, so I'm pretty sure I have or will O today. We have been horrible at BDing this month. I've not been too happy about it, but whatever. My hubby has such horrible sleep habits, that we NEVER go to bed at the same time. I tell him when it's "baby time" and that still doesn't usually make him come to bed with me. It pisses me off beyond belief sometimes. *Especially* when he comes to bed at 3am and tries to wake my ass up. When I'm that asleep, I don't give a crap about making babies, and it just makes me that much angrier! Anyway, after a weekend of no BD when we should've been, I saw my temp this morning had dipped, so I actually forced myself to wake him up for a quick BD. I was actually so mad at him for coming to bed at 3am that I almost wanted to skip this month, but I knew I'd be mad later. So, I just BD'd while being mad! ;) This is so not what TTC should be like! Grrrr!
Anyway, sorry for that little rant. Most months aren't like this, but this month has been especially bad with the different sleep schedules.
(damn...this is a long post!)
Hi girls! I am so sorry the remainder of the testing was a bust, but congrats to Sebski!
Polka- Did the Dr. just take one look at B and know it was vericocele? I ask because we went to the herbalist and that's what he told DH after one look at him (fully clothed and no med hx). DH has had pains down there for years(that he described as it felt like one was turned the wrong way or something). I wonder how they do that! DH is taking Damiana leaf for it, but I don't think his is as serious as your DH's is. I just read about someone who said her DH's dad had that surgery and MIL was pg the next month, or something like that. Good luck with everything! I hope this is "the cure" for yall!
thanks jess...yes he did only look at him but he had his pants down :p Brian had been to the doctor before when he was in high school but his primary care doc had said that it was just a destended (sp?) epidytimus and that he shouldnt worry well now after a year of TTC and only 1 BFP that was later a chem pg....it has come to gettingthe SA done and now the doctor sees it for what it really is...I guess you do need to see a urologist before getting the SA b/c if we hadnt we would be shattered when we got his SA results back b/c they are usually very low. After having this corrective surgery they should increase by 30-40 % in the 3 months after the surgery.
thanks girls...jsut keep thinking positive thoughts...
sorry no time for replies...Brian is still a little freaked....:confused:
polkadot ~ I'm sorry to hear about your DH's diagnosis but maybe that's just what you need to get you your sticky BFP! Jess is right, my FIL was found to have a variocele after three years of TTC with no luck. He had it corrected and MIL was pregnant with my DH within 3 months! I hope this is how it pans out for you guys. Then the MD told MIL that she didn't have to use birth control after DH was born b/c they had such a hard time getting pregnant. She got pregnant with #2 six months after DH was born! I am sending lots and lots of dust your way!
~~~~
Well I'm 8DPO today after the FF guide moved my O date. Temp dipped a little today but I'm playin' it cool. I usually have some dips around this time. We'll see how the week pans out!

My 6th day of charting here. Verrrry exciting. AF is almost gone and now I'm bored.
mrs_pell, thanks for the welcome. Everyone has been very welcoming and I really appreciate it. Who knows...maybe that BD was the one and you can laugh about it later. And maybe your DH can get up with the baby since he likes being up that late? ;)
Polka, ouch, your poor DH. I'm sorry he's had it for a while without getting proper intervention. At least now you know what is wrong and can work on it. It must be scary for him to get the surgery though. Poor guy.
Sherb, I'm sorry this wasn't your month, but I'm glad to have some company in the boring part. :)
There are many others, but those at least are the recent posts. Good luck to all!

To answer my on QOTD: I've only gotten a high once, usually I get a good.
Never had a low, but that's suprising to me...it seems that our timing is always sooooo crappy.

Not much new here, working hard and 4 DPO. . .

Temp still up there for me. I made sure to pee before I came home for lunch so I wouldn't be tempted to use my last test :D

Mrs. Pell, whew, that was quite a post! Maybe you should have used some of that energy toward BDing last night ;) Actually, I know how you feel, I was thinking about getting a little action last night and by the time I got done washing my face, checking out every pore in my skin, tweezing a few stray brows, the usual, DH was already in bed sawing some logs! I just let him sleep.
Polkadot, so sorry to hear about your troubles...but maybe this has been your difficulty all along. I'm sure there's some relief in knowing about it, even though your poor hubby is freaking out!
Miaclear, ChicagoKate and MrsJackson, your charts are still looking good! Let's keep those temps up, up, up!!! (I just knew cheering for the Vikings in 4th grade would come in handy some day)
Cowgirl, cross-hairs are good, some people are dying to see those little red things! And forget about perfect BD timing-all it takes is one really good swimmer! We'll be stalking your chart very soon.
Chris&Jen and Mrs. R, hopefully time will fly for you so the BDing and test fest can start!
Sorry if I missed anyone! I have absolutely nothing new or exciting to put here. I think I'm CD10 and we're not really supposed to be trying this cycle but I'm thinking anything could happen right??? :rolleyes:

thanks girls...well DH brought in his **sample** today and he has another appt on the 28th for the results. I really am expecting them to be pretty low and not very fertile but the doctor said that some men who have this do not have any fertility problems. My thoughts are that it is pretty likely that this is our main problem. Because I was Oing...just late so this could be something that could be a problem but is fixable. I had a call into my doctor to find out about the bloodwork for tomorrow. I was supposed to go in for 21 day bloodwork to see if I Oed on the Clomid but as far as my chart goes I havent so there is really no reason for the bloodwork. I also want to discuss putting the CLoimd on hold until we get B's situation under control. Thanks for thinking of me girls...we have some pretty good looking charts out there...fingers crossed for everyone...we need to keep with the current trent...more BFP's please

Man! I'm away for a long weekend and this place is crazy!!! Congratulations Sebski & LDS Angel 19!!!
Welcome j*east & kris97
I can't possibly do SO's for all that I've missed, but I'm so sorry for all those that AF found. And to those of you who have gotten some tough test results back - you'll all seem to do such a great job of staying positive and handling it with such grace. I really hope that I can do the same if I'm in the situation someday. Hugs to you all!!!
I'm currently 8 DPO. My temp went up a bunch today - higher than I've ever seen other than when I had the flu back in January. And I just feel - weird. Had some strange cramps back about 2 and 3 DPO. Here comes the TMI - I had v. strange diarrhea today around lunch time. I won't go into detail (yuck!), but it was odd. I've also been a bit out of it. Who knows. Maybe I'm imagining it all, but I just feel off. The longest LP I've had was 10 days, so Friday it'll be 11 and I'll test then if I get there with no AF!
QOTD: This is our first month TTC so I've only entered BD data for this month. Like kris97 I feel weird posting it (though I just told y'all I have diarrhea - go figure?!), but I will tell you the FF monitor said High for this month. But not as "High" as I can see honeygirl and her DH were! ;)

Errr... I had some very light spotting today and my body was just aching like AF was going to show. I was pretty upset about it so I agreed to happy hour with my coworkers (they don't know I'm TTC...just that I like to drink :D ) Anyhow....I'm expecting a temp drop tomorrow :(

Felicity it looks like we're cycle twins! In fact, I overlayed my chart over yours, and we look amazingly similar:
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/journal/revHSeESL.png
Of course, I think my last two temps are misleadingly high since I'm 6 hours behind (so even though I woke up naturally and temped at 3am, it's really 9am my body time and normally I temp at 5:30am).
So anyway, your high temps are much more exciting than mine, but I just thought it was funny...

Polka- I really hope DH's issue is your problem. It was weird, I REALLY wanted DH's SA to be bad just so I would know what was wrong and what we could do to fix it.
I really think now that I am the problem My temps are so low and I am self-diagnosed with Wilson's Syndrome (www.wilsonssyndrome.com). I am hesitant to go to my Dr. with this because it's not a simple blood test or anything and it looks like it may not be mainstream just yet.
Copied from SWH:
I have been doing OPKs this month, and they seem to be getting more negative. At the time I took them, they all seemed neg, but now looking back, there does seem to be one that may be pos, but it was like 3 days ago(they are still sitting out on my tub so I can compare them) and I haven't had a temp shift. Anybody have any insight for me? I hate this. I always freak out close to O time because I am so afraid I will miss it.
This month I am not for sure when CD 1 was, so I am really nervous. We have BD'd the last 4 days in a row, which is weird for us, and I am afraid we will be burned out. I haven't been putting in CM, but I seem to be pretty dry too! And that's with drinking green tea, which worked miracles for me 2 months ago.

Miaclear ~ Yeah...baby making is supposed to be fun (I think, anyway! ;) ). I know it was for my best friend when she got pregnant with her dd...2 times a day every day...and they were surprised??? LOL! Sorry about the spotting...but it ain't over yet! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Too funny about peeing at work so you wouldn't test! Hahaha!
ChicagoKate ~ Looks like your LP is usually pretty long so I don't think I'd worry about a [little] dip on 8DPO. But, that's just me and I'm still learning about all this! Keeping my fingers crossed for you too!
j*east ~ Oh, you can bet that we've already had several discussions about Mark being the one who is up with the [future] baby at night! Although, I'm sure that as soon as we do have a baby, his life-long sleep issues will be cured! :rolleyes:
MrsJackson ~ Lookin' good!
cowgirl ~ Glad I'm not alone in our sleep issues, but sorry you deal with it too! Too funny about your DH and the sign. May be kinda weird to put a sign on our door though, since my brother lives with us right now! :p I was just looking at your chart and wondering why you got your crosshairs at day 24 instead of 25. Day 25 doesn't look any higher than your pre-O temps. I'm definitely no chart-pro, though! Either way, at least you got a BD on the day of O or the day before! Only takes one (at least that's what I keep telling myself this month!).
tealynn ~ Yeah...that was a long post...Looks like I'm working on another one, too! If you guys wouldn't post so much during the day! Geez! And, just so ya know...I did get another BD in last night, so I didn't waste all my energy on that post! :p
Felicity ~ Your chart looks AWESOME! Can't wait till Friday so you can test!!!
fsb ~ Holy crap! Your guys' charts do look almost identical! Yours looks fantastic too (even if they last two are misleading)! When are you testing??
Jess71903 ~ Sorry things aren't so clear right now for you. I don't have much to offer you since I have never tried the OPKs and I'm pretty new to all this myself. Hopefully you'll get those crosshairs soon, though!
As for me...after yesterday's dip, I was pretty sure that today's would jump up, but it's still pretty low, so I'm guessing I didn't O yesterday. Which, actually makes me feel a little bit better and feel like we have a little more time. We had a "real" BD last night, after the angry one (on my part -- he doens't even know I was pissed! :o ). I'm sure we'll take tonight off, and if my temp's still low tomorrow, I'll make sure we get another one in tomorrow. I usually O somewhere between 13-16 and today is day 14. I still had a little bit of EWCM today, which leads me to my question for y'all (since I always have one!): The last couple of days, I have had EWCM, but only noticeable on the TP a few times throughout the day...not the whole day. Do you consider yourself still "fertile" as long as you have it at all that day?

Polka- for some reason the link I posted included the close parentheses. try this www.wilsonssyndrome.com
DH's SA came back "normal" but all I know is count. We didn't get the full report so I don't know about the factors other than count (131 Million-don't know if that is per/whatever or total). That was several months ago.

Hello to everyone!
I'm still waiting for something (anything) to happen. Three days past when I should be due, but no AF, and tests for the last three days have come out negative. My temperatures have been weirdly up and down, but nothing below the cover line. I'm pretty sure this cycle is a bust, but think it pretty sneaky that, after months and months of being regular, my cycle decides to mess with me the first month I really pay attention to it. ;)
(That picture is really cute. I never thought I would stare so intently at something soaked with urine. :) )
Jess71903
06-07-2006, 06:39 AM
Mia- the CM trick that worked for me the best was green tea. Robutussin thins it if it is too thick, but if it is non-existant (like mine) it won't help.
Still don't know what's up with me. BD'd last night for the 5th night in a row:rolleyes: and still no temp rise this morning. Who knows.

tealynn:You our right I have heard of ff being off so I sometimes don't want to get my hopes up to soon. I hope you are right about the timing.
miaclear:Green tea,grapefruit juice, Baby carrots are suppose to help produce more cm in some people. Robitussin helps if you need to thin out your cm.
mrs_pell:The sign may not work for you in that case. I am not sure about why it picked cd24 instead of cd25. I am no chart expert either.
MrsJackson05:That is so cute I could use that for sure. HEHE
kris97:Alot of others have said that samething.

mia - I agree on the green tea. I never had EWCM, but the cycles I did drink it, I always had one or two days of it.
Sorry for no other SO's....I'll try to do better. :o
As for me 6DPO and the FPS are hitting me. Man, the mind is a powerful thing isn't it?? My mind thinks that I'm having a backache and some dull cramping and don't even get me started on the bloating. :p I don't work on Monday and I have a preg test waiting for me under my bathroom sink that I know I won't be able to resist taking even though I'll only be 11 DPO. I really should buy stock in Clearblue and other pregnancy test companies....they make a killing off of women like me. :p

Hey guys...very busy week so far for me so I haven't been able to keep up as much as usual. DH and I had a brief discussion a couple days ago about when we would go for testing and adoption. It is a bit premature for us but I just needed to know that he felt the same way that I do about what lengths we would be willing to go to with fertility treatments if it came to that. My family seems to either get pregnant very easily or needs fertility drugs. We don't really have a middle ground with the women in my family. It's good to know DH and I are on the same page now. That takes a little more pressure off me.
Baseball Baby vacations plans have been set. We've booked our hotel, gotten our baseball tickets, and found a sitter for the pup...now hopefully my body will cooperate and O at the appropriate time. :D I must start looking now for SPF 1000+++ sunblock because a sunburn would be VERY bad on this trip and I sunburn VERY easily. :p
Polkadot - good luck with DH's surgery. Hopefully that is the magic answer that will mean a BFP for you.
I loved the pg test picture. That makes more sense for the POAS obsessed. I haven't gotten too crazy yet but I think that is because my body likes to spot the night before AF so I always now that I don't even have to break out the tests.

miaclear~~ Mucinex has always worked great for me in producing extra EWCM and WCM. I take one tablet a day from CD 10-16 and then two a day until I know I have O'd. Seems to work well and Robitussin did nothing for me (plus it tastes AWFUL!)
LOTS of great looking charts out there!! Dust dust and more dust to ALL!!

kris97 - was your temp up or down today? Waiting sucks, huh?
Very funny on the clear blue pic. I've only taken one pregnancy test, so I don't have any experience yet with staring at them obsessively, but I'm sure I soon will. :)
---------------------------
Nothing new for me. 9 DPO (though I suspect it might really be 8 DPO -- at least, FF usually calls my O a day after I get all my O symptoms, and this cycle it called it the day of. So it might be right, but it could be inconsistent with my previous cycles...). Temp is still up, but again, not reliable. No real symptoms I haven't had on other cycles.
Here's a question, on 5 DPO, I had horrible cramps in the morning -- worse than I've ever had with AF. I was in Sicily, and I wasn't entirely sure they weren't food related, bc I also (TMI) had a little bit of diarrhea (though not much). The cramps felt low, similar to AF, but I've never been good at figuring out exactly where things hurt in the abdomen area. They were pretty strong -- I was doubled over and on the bed all morning.
Anyway, anyone ever heard of strong cramping being an FPS? Just fishing around for something interesting to obsess over... ;)

fsb~ since it was 5DPO it could have been implant cramping...was it like AF cramps or pinching? Hope it means something...;)
ChicagoKate~ the green tea never worked for me...it only made me have thinker creamy CM never gave me good CM. And the mucinex...i cant say much about b/c I am not good at taking it regularly.:o
kanga~ thanks I hope the surgery goes well for us too. I hope the baseball baby vacation works in your favor!!

After doing some chart stalking... I'm definitely giving special stalking attention to Kris97 at 14 DPO and temps up (looks good!!) and Ptcrn at 15 DPO and temps up, and who has been mysteriously absent. Hopefully she'll check in soon and give us an update.
fsb2005, I suppose cramping could be associated w p/s...did you have any spotting as well? It could also be O cramps. I've heard of those being relatively severe, but it would be strange for you to have them all of sudden and never notice it before. I guess we just need a few more days to get a better idea of what's up!
Mrs. Jackson, definitely a cute pic! I did get overly excited for a minute though... I didn't realize it was a joke right away ;)
ChicagoKate, I'm really surprised that Mucinex helps with more CM. It's usually something that's taken to dry things up, right? It's crazy the lengths we'll go to for more CM! Personally, I don't think I could drink the Robitussen, it would make me gag.
I am making a promise to myself to only log-on at the end of the day today. I've gotten a little obsessive with the CC thing, so see all of you later!
Good luck to those testing!!

polkadot - I guess it was more like AF cramps (though again, much stronger than I normally get). The pain wasn't localized enough for me to call it pinching.
tealynn - no spotting. I doubt it was O cramps because I was 5 DPO at that point, and I know what my normal O cramps feel like (way way milder, more like a dull ache) and I already had had them. These were strong, a lot like AF cramps except much stronger. But again, could also have been something I ate. :)

Mucinex is an expectorant so it thins and loosens up all the mucus.

here's a charting novice question for you guys: at what DPO would you stop hoping for a BFP? What I mean is, I'm at 14DPO, my temps are odd (up and down, so I can't really rely on them), no sign of AF, but still keep getting negatives. If my period doesn't show up, at what day should I just figure that if I were PG, I definitely would have had enough HPG (I forget if that's the right acronym) to show up on the home pregnancy tests?
fsb2005
06-07-2006, 09:21 AM
kris97 hard question...I think that since your temps show that you ovulated, it would be strange for you to not eventually either: (1) get your period; or (2) be pregnant. If you really don't get your period at all, I'd go in for a blood test because you always hear those stories about people who never tested positive on an HPT, yet were pregnant.
That being said, a negative on an HPT at 14 DPO isn't a great sign. Since this is your first cycle charting, you don't know how long your LPs are, but 12-16 days is normal. So if you have 16-day LPs, then your period wouldn't really be due for three more days. I know this cycle is longer than your previous ones, but it's really your LP that matters, since your O date can vary, and you probably just O'd a few days late this cycle.
I think TCOYF says that if you have 18 days of temps above the coverline w/no AF, there is a good chance that you're pregnant. So maybe at 18 DPO you might want a blood test?
fsb2005
06-07-2006, 09:26 AM
Also, I re-read your question again, and think you might also be wondering at what DPO you can normally be sure that you aren't pregnant if you are getting a negative on an HPT.
Others may know more, but from what I've seen most people who are pregnant got a BFP at 14 DPO if they tested then. A lot get them by 12 DPO, but it sounds like that is a little early for some. 14 seems fairly standard, but this is all from what I've seen on these boards, so not scientific.
I'd be interested to know too -- while I'm sure there are outliers as always, is it fairly common to get a BFN on 14 DPO but then get a BFP a few days later?
Kris this might be a good question for the regular family planning board too.

No prob.
Also, I looked at the FP board and found this thread.

At the bottom, someone says 13-14 DPO is normally when you'd get a BFP.

Nothing exciting for me today. 6 DPO. Very, very boring. My temp did stay up though, even after the past few days being so rocky. I was looking at my past few charts, and have never really had that much fluctuation so soon after Ovulation.
But, I'm beginning to see that with my cycles, nothing really ever stays the same. My temp stayed up this morning, I can just hope that it stays up, right?

I've been reading along w/o posting the last couple of days ... feeling like what I could've said, others have already done a better job at it. ;)
However... regarding publishing BD data ... I get why it's weird, but it's not so weird if everybody's doing it, if that makes sense. You'd be surprised how many people around here know what other peoples' lovemaking schedules are, and what's more - feel like that's normal. :p It's become to me like nudity in the gym locker room. You're at the gym to get healthy, just like you're doing the charts to get pregnant ... nudity/lovemaking schedule is a biproduct of that. It might be wierd or embarassing at first, but I can guarantee you -- in both situations -- nobody's as weirded out by it as you are. Soon, you'll sort of ignore both things as if they were a part of life, like having diarreah, or talking about cervical fluid. :)
6 DPO here and twiddling my thumbs. Temps have been flat at 98 for the last 3 days, and I have Creamy CM today. That is odd for me -- both flat post-o temps and CM. If my temps go up again and stay flat, I have resolved to tell myself it's not necessarily because I am pregnant with a triphasic chart, as 98.0 is historically pretty low for me as a post-o temp.
We also may be doing a just-for-fun test at 10 DPO (Monday). I haven't decided if this is wise or not... but we were talking the other night and decided that if we got a BFP, we might like for it to be a surprise. It won't be a surprise at 14 DPO since I have never had a LP that long. At 10, it would be a surprise (but also very likely to be a false negative).
11DPO (Tuesday) is out, because that's the day that I go over to my cousin Kori's house, and I'm going to have to tell somebody that first day, and I don't want the first person to know to be Kori (I'm sure she'd be so excited that she'd tell just everyone).
Every day after that we wait, it becomes less of a surprise. So we're considering Monday.
I never knew TTC would turn me into a (n even bigger) freak!
I also have a related QOTD: When you get your BFP, besides your husband, who will be the first person you tell?

Well, CD31 for me today... during my last cycle I started spotting on CD31. But, I O'd later in this cycle than the last so that means I should be looking at a longer cycle and I won't be dealing with AF for another one or two days.
My temp went up from yesterdays drop a teeny bit today and all my temps are still above the coverline... but nothing other than a bfn so far. :mad: So, I'm going to expect AF to show so that if she doesn't I can be joyously surprised. ;)
How are the rest of you ladies doing?
Have a great day all! :D
QOTD I work full-time 5 days a week but whenever I happen to be home (sick or whatever) I love to watch A Baby Story, Bringing Home Baby and now there's a new one on TLC where mom's get together and chat about different motherhood issues... I can't remember what it's called.

kanga - Totally agree sunburn = bad for TTC. DH had a sunburn last week on O day of all days and we didn't BD. :mad:
ChicagoKate - Are you going to test this weekend? (Gotta love peer pressure!) :p
fsb - Maybe it was implantation on 5DPO. I was reading another thread yesterday on early pregnancy symptoms and one woman mentino she got such a sharp pain at 6DPO that she doubled over. Now, when will you be testing??
polka - Good luck with DH's surgery and hope that Operation Polka-Tot can get on target again.
tealynn - I'm impressed...I totally don't have the willpower to only sign on once a day. I'm constantly checking out CC all day long.
MrsJackson05 - I just noticed we are cycle buddies. I'm 6DPO too!
teacher jessica - Still crossing my fingers for you! I love the Baby Story as well...I always get misty eyed when the baby is born!
QOTD - After I tell DH, the next people will of course be CC and LJ people! :p We don't want to tell anyone else (including family) until after the first trimester and the first ultrasound.

Kris97, I think that was me who said the average +BFP shows up around 13-14DPO. However, urine testing is all about how your body metabolizes the hCG, so many women (unusual but not abnormal) don't get BFPs until much later; some don't get one at all during their entire pg. After about 2 weeks past AF's due date is a good time to call the doc. hCG in the blood doesn't require metabolism.
That said, without knowing how long your LP is normally, it's impossible to tell if you're *really* late yet. As fsb said, "normal" LPs can be as long as 17 DPO. If you had fertile CM around CD16, it's possible you had a delayed O then, which would explain why this cycle seems longer.
fsb, I was crampy around the time I got my BFP at 11 DPO, but nothing like what you're describing. One thing I've noticed is that AF cramps are also toward my back & bottom and more of a dull ache that increases & decreases rather than a shooting pain. But...it's different for everyone, so I don't know what to tell ya. Off the cuff I'd say it was digestive-related. Besides the cramps, I gotta tell, I think this it for you ;). You say you can't rely on temps, but you've never had a steady rise like this, & your temps are higher than ever before. Not to mention you can't get a better BD schedule than you had.
Kanga, I'm glad you & DH are on the same page about all this. It's a tough road to go down, but luckily there are lots of simple treatment options before you have to consider procedures. I wish you luck.
jenjen, I refuse to admit to how many tests I've taken. Absoutely refuse. That said, I don't consider 11DPO too early at all :D.
Jess, do you still have fertile CM? If so, keep BDing. If not, take a break at least tonight. You both need your rest. :p OPKs don't always grow daker until you surge then grow ligher. There is always some FSH in your system that can show up on the tests, and other factors can contribute to how your body metabolizes it. It's also possible you had a delayed O.
Mia, I 3rd (4th?) the green tea. There's a sticky thread in the regular FP forum that has a listing of good information threads, including how to increase CM. I'm sorry you feel AF is on the way :(.
Mrs.J, love that pic! Someone needs to make one that says "It's still too early to test."
Mrs_P, any sign of fertile CM during the day is counted as such. You can have watery CM in the morning and sticky by evening, but it's still a W day. I highly suggest you check internally if you unsure; you'll probably be surprised at how much more you have than you thought.
Felicity, given that your chart is so similar to fsb's, I'm gonna say the same thing: I think this is it ;).
Polka, you guys are in my thoughts. How long will he will be out of commission after the surgery? If it doesn't interfere with your cycle, then good, but if it will, is it possible to take a sample beforehand and do an IUI?
OK...that's about as far back as I can go :). Good luck to everyone!

flygirl - glad you're so positive. :) I'm not saying this isn't it, but really, honestly, I don't trust those temps. They only went up to 98.4 the morning I returned home (7DPO). I've been waking up naturally and temping at 3am (9am body time), whereas I usually am woken up by my alarm at 5:30am to temp.
My temps seemed pretty normal going the other way (i.e. when I went to Sicily), but I think that's probably because I was waking up from sleep to temp, just like normal.
What I think is different coming home is that I am slowly waking up naturally (as if I slept in), rather than being woken up by my alarm.
And given when I'm temping, it's as if I'm temping 3.5 hours later than normal, which could definitely cause a rise of .4 degrees.
So, I'd like to think that this is it, but I honestly am not buying these temps.

fsb, I just found this in the early symptoms of PG thread
"In hindsight, the two biggest clues were an extraordinary amount of cramping that sent me to bed early and in near tears on 8 & 9 DPO (I was actually praying that AF would show so I could take some Advil) and a couple of dizzy spells on those same days when I stood up from my desk too fast. My bbs didn't get sore until a few days later...and haven't stopped aching yet!"
Obviously I didn't stick to my guns about not coming back until this afternoon. What can I say, work is a little slow today!

QOTD: I would tell CC and LJ folks but the first other call I'd make would be to DHs best friends who just had a baby. They are impatiently waiting for us to join the club so I'd be ok in telling them. I would also tell my parents and grandma of course but I would hope that the secret would stay just that till the second trimester...however I don't think that it'll work like that with the mouth on my mom and grandma :D
Question for all you ladies:
Ok....so I'm still above coverline, but the BIG dip isn't good right? Anyone care to give me their two cents? Also, green tea....I'm not a tea drinker. Is this a tea I can buy already made or one of those that you have to get the cup of hot water and let that sack soak? Sorry...I'm really a tea virgin:rolleyes:
just popping in to say hi as this will probably be my only time today to get online. I also just depressed myself as I did a chart overlay on ff with this chart and my first month of charting -- my post-O temps are eerily similar:(

The surgery is an outpatirnt thing...he would go in the am and the surgery would be completed within an hour or two. They will let him leave that afternoon. He will be out of work for two days. he wont be able to do any heavy lifting for about 6 weeks but other than that he should be good. I am not going to chart, temp, etc for the next few months until we get his straight...we had made that decision before we found out about his diagnosis so this summer should be easy for us. we are not going to avoid but we arent going to try so hard either....we are just going to relax and see what happens...:cool:

tealynn, thanks for stalking my chart! :D No news to share yet- as usual I have been reading along but not posting! I kind of feel like I'm going to jinx myself if I write about my FPS- stupid right?
That being said, what you wrote about the early symptoms of PG thread does sound like me! I've been having pretty sharp AF-like cramps today and yesterday, so I'm sure she's coming some time today. I keep running to the bathroom and checking, but nothing yet! I have had some dizzy spells the last few days too, but that isn't anything new for me. I'll probably test tomorrow if my temp is still up.
polkadot, I'm thinking about you and your DH! I pray that his surgery goes well and it is the solution that you guys need to get your BFP!
QOTD: I would probably only tell my best friend (other than CC/LJ friends) because she asks me all the time and I couldn't keep it from her! We will try to wait until 10-12 weeks to tell anyone else IRL (including parents).
miaclear- I really like Lipton's green tea with lemon. Its in a yellow box, and there are tons of flavors to choose from. Go to the tea section in your supermarket and you'll have more choices than you know what to do with! I don't know if its really helped me with CM (only noticed EW once), but it tastes good. And about your chart, I think its still too early to say. Your temp could definitely shoot back up tomorrow. Good luck!
Ok, I really have to get back to work now!

fsb2005 - Holy crap! Our charts are almost identical! What is even more crazy is that I had some weird, sharp cramps early in my 2WW. Mine felt like I was going to have diarrhea, but did not. Very sharp pains but not necessarily as low as I would have thought they should be if it has to do with potential pg. I too wondered if it was something I ate! Then yesterday I had no cramping, but one random, strange bought of diarrhea. Who knows!?
mrs_pell - FF friend says to record your most fertile type of CM for the day. So I'd say yes - fertile.
MrsJackson05 - That test picture is funny! I had to do a double take - I thought someone else was posting a BFP!
kanga1622 - That's great that you and your DH have had such a candid discussion of what you want in terms of testing and possibly adopting. My DH and I have even talked about it a bit even though we are just getting started with TTC. Just good to know that you're on the same page for it all right?
polkadot - Good luck with your DH's surgery. Enjoy your summer! I'm sure it will be kind of nice to just relax for a while!
MrsHill - I say go for it at 10DPO! Good luck!
flygirl - Thanks! We'll see what happens!
QOTD: When you get your BFP, besides your husband, who will be the first person you tell? No one but DH will know right away. We will probably tell family at about 8 weeks and try to wait til 12 to 14 weeks to tell friends/work.
9 DPO and my temp is up just a smidge more today, which is a good thing! However, I am spotting just a bit. I have spotted sometimes prior to AF so not sure if I should figure this is AF coming. I don't really get AF cramps or much indication she is coming so I don't have much to go by...just keep hoping my temp is up each morning!
Good luck to those testing soon!

Aw, sorry that the old hag found your house, kris! I like your smilie...does that mean all is well with you?
Mia- I have the flavored kind in the box that I brew like ice tea (4 little bags in 2 cups hot water to brew to make a quart), but I just saw bottles of it sold like cokes in the coke aisle at Wal-Mart a day or 2 ago. You might want to get those if you don't want to take the time to brew it.
Thanks for the input girls. Flygirl- I haven't been good at checking CM- things seem watery to me, but not very much and since we are BDing every night I am afraid it is "leftovers" (see, nothing is TMI:) ). I want to take a night off, but we have missed actual O day pretty much every cycle so if we do miss, I am afraid I will O and be upset because we missed it AGAIN! So, no fertile CM, essentially, but temps are still way low. I know it's early to say this, but possibly anov? That would make me SO sad!
QOTD DH first, then 2 couples of our best friends who know we have been trying. Then CC folks. Everybody else later- that inclues our parents. My mom could NOT keep her mouth shut if we told!

Speaking of green tea: way before I ever realized its fertility effects, I started drinking green tea almost every day at work. What I do is keep a hot pot in my office, fill it up daily, and just brew cups of green tea whenever I"m thirsty. I go through phases, and my favorite right now is Lipton's Green Tea with Mixed Berries, which I highly recommend. :)

Good thing about Oing a little later is that we leave for the USVI in a week and a day. If AF shows, it will be later into my vacation and maybe not interfere as much! It'd also be cool to get a BFP while we are there. Guess I will pack tampons and HPTs!

For those of you who are Oing late...I understand. The latest I have Oed was day 25 but that was my first cycle off of BCP...So today at cycle day 21 is pretty late...and I am on Clomid,....so I have been anticiapting this O for a LONG time...maybe I will maybe I wont...its killing me though...

This question is actually for FLYGIRL (but please chime in if you have any insight). I am not sure if you are a doctor (OB/GYN or RE) IRL, FLYGIRL because I have noticed some of the girls referring to you as the "Resident Expert" but if you are perhaps you can tell me what the effects of the strep bacteria are on a fetus. (I know they CAN'T be good.) I am in my 2ww. And today the doctor diagnosed me with Strep (oh joy! :rolleyes: ) Mere eating and drinking are a chore it hurts so much. Now of course I am probably not preggo (although I'm 4 DPO and my nipples are sore as hayle and I've had some cramping) but I said to my DH...would it be just great if after 6 cycles we finally get pg this one when I have strep. (I had the doc prescribe amoxycillian rather than penicillan just to be on the safe side.) But even with the amoxycillan precaution I could swear I've heard bad things about the strep bacteria affecting pregnancy. So I figured I'd ask what you know on the subject. (Again, anyone with experience feel free to post.) Thanks.Kris97, I think that was me who said the average +BFP shows up around 13-14DPO. Cycle 1 off the pill was 33 days, Cycle 2 was 30, Cycle 3 was 28 days. Man....I'm all for shorter cycles to get more opportunities but I better not be getting that much shorter. My LP was 12 days, that's ok right? Isn't normal like 12-16 or something?
I ordered pre-seed today and this weekend I'm going to stock up on the green tea (yuck...I hope I find some I can stomach) and grapefruit. Thanks for the dust philly. I wish I was covered in it like Pigpen from Peanuts.

polkadot, best wishes for you in your time of not charting. I'll be thinking good thoughts for B. Enjoy all the BDing and I hope you O soon.
armadillo, enjoy vacation!
miaclear and sherb and any others I missed, sorry AF(LOSER!) came.
MrsJackson, yes, cute '8 ball' answer.
mrs pell, I agree that you should count each day you have any EWCM. I read that it can easily drop into the toilet when you pee without you knowing it.

MrsR, sorry you bummed yourself out. Go get some lovin' from those adorable sweater wearing pups!
Copied from TTC after M/C:
Got lab results back today...sort of. My nurse practioner that ordered my progesterone test for 7DPO wasn't in today, so the Dr. called me back to give me the level and he said it was 6.3. I asked what that meant and he was literally silent for at least ten seconds. Then I said, "so I guess that's really low then, huh?" and he didn't say. He said it is in the luteal phase range which is normally 4.2 to 25. He said she would call me tomorrow to discuss. So I looked it up and the only thing I could find said that it should be at least 10, so I'm very upset, trying not to cry on my husband (today is our 3rd anniversary). I told him I was having a bad day today and he came to my work, played a song on a boom box and had me dance with him in the hallway. He brought flowers too. He's so good to me. I feel bad for him that he has to deal with me when I get upset over the stress of TTC. Oh, and I have an important conference tomorrow with my boss that I have to get up early for and I'm all puffy from crying and I know I won't sleep well. Ugh, obviously I'm PMSing too. Hopefully I'll get clearer information from the nurse tomorrow than I did from Dr. Silent today. He didn't mention anything about my thyroid so I guess that's alright. Of course, who knows? Thanks for listening ladies. It helps that you are here just to listen to me. We're due for another BFP soon. Go testers!

me- BD'd again last night. Temp this am was 97.2 AH! So, more BDing on the way...This makes a solid week! That's a record for us. DH said this morning that we didn't even do that on our honeymoon!!! Gotta go to work, see you ladies later!

jodylovesscotty - so sorry to hear that. I hope you're hanging in there and getting the support you need. You are of course welcome back in here when you're ready.
miaclear and kris97 - sorry to hear AF showed.
-------------------------------
10 DPO for me, temp's the same. I'm starting to get a sinking feeling I'm not pregnant though. I just feel like I would have some sign of it. I spot like crazy after a pap smear, so I'd think I'd be likely to see some implanation spotting or something.
Anyway, I know it's completely possible to be pregnant with no FPS, but I just feel like I'm pretty attuned to my body and I would feel something if I were really pregnant.
And of course if it turns out I'm not, I'm going to start worrying that something is wrong because we did have such a crazy BD schedule. I know one cycle doesn't mean anything, but I still can't help but worry... :rolleyes:

Jodi ~ I am so sorry that you are going through this. Many ((hugs)) for you and please come back when you are ready.
Lilhimley ~ I am sorry your MD is such a dork. Can you go see someone else? I think that if you are not satisfied with the info you are getting, you should seek care elsewhere. There's nothing worse that having the feeling that you are not getting all the info. There's a lot that can be done to increase your progesterone level. Prometrium cream (I believe) is what people use. Maybe he will prescribe that.
Fsb2005 ~ Your chart still looks great to me! Two days of the same temp is nothing to worry about. Fingers crossed for you! When will you start testing?
~~~~~~~~
10DPO for me. Temps back up a little today. I feel nothing. I am really looking forward to the weekend. Will definitely wait to test until Monday if AF stays away that long.
ChicagoKate - I wasn't worried about the two days of the same temp, but just the fact that I don't see any other signs -- didn't really have an implantation dip, no implantation spotting, no insanely sore boobs, etc. I know that doesn't mean I'm not pregnant, but I just can't help but feel that I would notice something if I really were.
If my temps don't start dropping by then, I may test at 12 DPO (Sat). I'm going to a party that night and wouldn't drink if I knew for sure I was pregnant.
If my temps are dropping, I won't test unless AF is late.
Jody - I'm so sorry to hear that. You will be in our thoughts as your family deals with this trying time.
lilhimley - Good luck with the doc. Hopefully it is a simple pill that can fix your issue and a BFP awaits you next month. DH is actually the baseball fan at our house but I make a special point every June to do a baseball trip with him (even though the games always seem to fall on my birthday). He's so excited to go he can hardly sleep and we don't leave until the 20th. :rolleyes:
Green Tea - I have yet to find any type of brewed tea that I can stand. I don't like the "tea" flavor. In fact, there is only one brand of iced tea mix that I will drink and that is because it is more sugar and lemon than tea. :p Anyone have recommendations for a green tea that tastes nothing like tea? I'd be happy to try something a bit different to drink this summer.
Miaclear - a 12 day LP is nothing to worry about. That seems to be pretty common.
QoTD - I have no idea who the first person besides DH will be. We've been talking about keeping it a secret until 8-10 weeks. Then we will probably call all 3 parent households and send one e-mail to all our siblings so no one will feel like they knew before/after someone else. My boss will probably guess it long before I would want to tell him but that's fine with me. He would keep it quiet and he treats me like his daughter so I know he'd be happy for us.
Late Oers - I think we need to form a support group. I'm nervous that we won't get pg for a long time because DH and I are just not every day/every other day BDing kind of people. We pretty much just go for it when the mood strikes us. Since I usually O sometime between CD20-28, we get burnt out quickly and it isn't much fun anymore so we decided to just play it by ear for a few more months before becoming more scheduled with BDing. I once Oed on CD60 during a TTA cycle and there is no way we could keep up a more scheduled BDing routine if that were to happen again. :eek:
Hi ladies! I'm not a member of this group, I'm not yet ttc, but I'm always lurking.
Kanga- I also have long cycles, and I'm already dreading ttc when my cycles are usually 37-40 days long! Have you ever read Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition by Marilyn Shannon? I picked up the book a few weeks ago, followed her nutrition guidelines, and this month I O'ed on CD15! I'm usually O'ing on CD 26 or so. Anyway, I recommend the book. I haven't tried the supplements she recommends, I just take my prenatal and some flaxseed oil.
7 DPO here for me today. And starting last night, I have the usual pre-AF headache. I'm kinda disappointed, but part of me is trying to convince myself it's not over till she shows.
I'm still wondering about that temp dip that I had though....it's very strange for me. I've also noticed that my temps are a bit lower than normal, and I don't know what that's all about. (Even though I did wake up sweating this morning)
Jody Sorry about your loss. You and your DH will be in my thoughts and prayers. When you're ready, we'll welcome you back with open arms!
Kanga I hear you on the long cycle thing. Granted, I've never had one so long that I O'ed on CD 60, but mine cycles seem to last forever. We've been trying since October 05, and I was starting to think something was wrong, because it's been about 8 1/2 months. But when I got to thinking about it, I've only ovulated 6 times while actively TTC. It stinks. I'm with you on that one!
fsb, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! I hope you get that BFP very soon!
miaclear and kris97, so sorry that the hag showed. I'm beginning to hate her more and more every cycle. Good luck to you in your next cycle!
ChicagoKate, I'm hoping that you get your BFP very soon too! I hope that 'ole hag leaves you alone! :D
Jody, I'm really, really sorry! I know exactly what you're going through. And I know you've been trying for a while. It's got to be heartbreaking. Please let us know how you're doing!
Pocohontas, I had a dream last night that you were the next BFP. How crazy is that? Especially since you're only 4 DPO and we have other really strong charts testing this weekend! Anyway, hopefully my dream is a good sign for you.
Lilhimley, your husband sounds great! I can just hear mine rolling his eyes when we're on the phone and I tell him I'm having a bad day. Although he did send me flowers once because I sat in traffic for 2 hours getting to work and called him crying about my horrible commute and how I just couldn't do it any more (thank you PMS). Also, low progesterone levels are very treatable. Don't sweat it yet.
Here's my recommendation for those of you who don't like the taste of tea. Buy the Snapple Mangooooo tea bags in the tea/coffee aisle, brew it and then mix 1/2 tea, half lemonade. It's great summer drink. We have a tea maker and I usually throw in 4 regular tea bags and one mango green tea bag. It gives the regular tea just a hint of mango flavor, of course I love iced tea so it's not problem.
Keeping my fingers crossed for all those testing and I'm throwing a gang sign to the flo "Ho". I got the all clear from my nurse yesterday to start trying again so I guess I'll just take the nurses advice :cool:
Hey ladies.. I'm a bit behind but just wanted to say so sorry to jody take care.
Good luck to everyone else..
qotd DH first of course, our parents, grandparents, siblings, and my boss. He'll need to know right away because I'm a vet tech and take x-rays, do anesthesia and lab work, etc, and will need to make some modifications in my work duties. Would try to keep it from extended family/friends until I'm further along, but have a feeling the moms and grandma will tell everyone else as soon as we tell them.
Jody, this sucks. I'm so very sorry. If you feel up to it, there's an amazing support group for Ladies who have miscarried (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=8736). The most important thing is to not feel pressured to act in a certain way. There's also the TTC after a loss (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=17579) group, whenever you feel ready. It's really true that no one can completely understand what it's like & how it affects you & TTCing unless she's been through it.
fsb (& ChicagoKate), I notice you've been having C CM. That was the *only* difference in my cycles leading up to a BFP. I didn't experience any real symptoms until 10DPO (wildly swinging moods, hearburn & nausea). I had some bright orange CM on 10 or 11 DPO, and my bbs didn't hurt until 13DPO. Just sayin'. But I won't get your hopes up. ;)
Mrs.J, you still have another week before AF :p. Blame the headache on the heat.
lilhimley, here (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=9001&highlight=low+progesterone) is a thread on low progesterone. Doctors are all over the board on what's the appropriate ammount. But your leves are considered low & the doc will start by giving you progesterone supplements. The good news is that your LP is still well within normal range this cycle.
pocahontas, I am not in the medical field; just learned in family planning & fertility & soon going to school. It sounds like you were diagnosed with Group A strep (includes strep throat). While it can be serious, it's more often easily treated by the antibiotics, and you should start feeling better within a few days (but don't stop the antibiotics!). There's no way to guarantee that a fertilized zygote won't be affected by the bacteria, but the bacteria in your system should be gone by the time it implants. Since there's nothing more you can do about the infection, try to relax :). HOWEVER, this is not an expert answer, so feel free to start a seperate thread in FP (good idea in case someone else needs the info). BTB is our resident doc & should find the thread :).
Group B strep, on the other hand, can cause serious problems for newborns. The bacteria can live in your system indefinitely and not cause any symptoms and it's estimated that up to 30% of pg women have it. But doctors are very on top of this and almost all pg women are tested for it in their last tri. More info at health-cares.net (http://womens-health.health-cares.net/group-B-strep.php)
Green Tea: I love Starbucks' iced green tea, and you can get it mixed with lemonade. Many of the bottled green teas, such as Arizona, are actually very good. Just check the label to make sure it's real green tea.
HOLY GUACAMOLE!! :eek: TEALYNN...that is wild considering DH and I have crazy luck (I should tell you the story of our engagement and wedding someday :rolleyes: :p )and after 6 cycles of trying it would be simply typical that the cycle I have strep I'd be pregnant! jody, I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm glad to see tht Flygirl posted the links to those threads. We are sure here for if you need us.
Flygirl - what are you going to go to school for?
Green Tea - I'm trying to kick my Artificial Sweetner (and high fructose corn syrup, and partially hydrogenated oil) habit, and am looking at using Iced Tea as my drink of choice instead of Crystal Light / Diet Coke... so we've been experimenting this week with different teas. The first one we tried was the Republic of Tea (http://www.republicoftea.com/templates/directory.asp?navID=18) Wild Berry Plum. It was okay. I don't know if non-tea lovers would like it. I added a tsp of sugar to the glass, and it was better. We're currently going through a jug of Celestial Seasonings' Mandarin Orange Spice iced tea and that is really good. 'Course, it's herbal, not green... but it's making me think maybe the next one to try is Republic of Tea's Orange Spice one. I'll let you all know how my experiment goes over the next few months.
Well, doctor or not, you are clearly knowledgeable enough for me! And I thank you kindly for that information...I am breathing a tad bit easier now since I started the antibiotics yesterday and I know typical implantation isn't until Days 7-10 (although I had a friend implant on Day 6...so I know it can happen earlier). But you are right...no sense in worrying. I may not even be knocked up! :rolleyes:
jody, I'm so sorry about your loss. **HUGS**
Well, the old hag showed up this morning along with the temp dip. :mad: I'm getting so frustrated- on to cycle 11. I just don't understand why we aren't getting pg! I guess I will call my FP doctor to see if we can get the referral to an RE. She offered to do that a few months ago, but I wasn't ready at that time. I think I'm ready now- plus there may be a wait list, so I want to be sure to do it in time to have bloodwork starting with my next cycle.
Anyway... Threadmistress, please move me to waiting to O.
Oh Jody I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine... my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Whoa... this thread moved super fast since my last visit (even though that was yesterday) so I'm chickening out of personals. :)
Not too much to report today other than the fact that I had another temp drop today (followed by those far too familiar AF cramps, aches and pangs) and I expect AF to show up sometime today or tomorrow. :( I'm feeling so down about it. I know it's only our 2nd month of actively trying but this is so much tougher to take than I ever thought it would be. Now I think about friends I've had that TTC for months (one for well over two years), some who went through fertility treatments, etc. and I think about how strong any woman has to be to go through this journey since it's so different for each woman (and no, I'm not comparing myself to those women I'm just finally getting a bit of insight into how strong they must have been).
I'm crossing my fingers for you ladies! Lots of luck (and TONS of baby dust) to all!
Our BD timing has been great both months, we got the High rating from FF both times. So, I'm not sure what else to try to do to increase our chances of being pregnant... perhaps we need to just be patient. But, can I say this... being patient stinks.
fsb - What a beautiful chart! When I was pregnant with DS, I was totally convinced I wasn't pregnant that I didn't even bother testing until 15DPO.:eek:
mia, ptcn, and kris97 - Sorry about AF!!
MrsR - You've got a great looking chart as well!
tealynn - Glad you got the all clear from the nurse!
polkadot - Sounds like you and DH have a good plan for the summer.
MrsJackson05 - Chart is looking good.
teacher_jessica - Sorry you are having a tough time.
Felicity - When I got my BFP, I had spotting. Might just be the little baby nuzzling in good and tight! :)
Jess71903 - Sorry you have to BD again. Hopefully tonight will be the last night for a while.
lilhimley - What a romantic hubby you have! Happy Anniversary!
ChicagoKate - Do you think you would cave to peer pressure and test this weekend??? :p
jessied1025 - Good luck catching that egg.
green tea - I just use the Lipton kind. I hate tea and hate the green tea, but I put a little sugar in it and I can tolerate it.
Is anyone else with me that we have some AWESOME looking charts out there? I'd be SHOCKED if we didn't get some BFPs over the next week or so.
As for me, 7DPO and waiting, waiting, waiting. My FPS of a backache and dull cramping has gone away. I swear my stomach looks bigger and I refuse to believe it has anything to do with the candy bar I just ate for lunch! :p By the way, do you think an itchy belly button is a pregnancy sign? :p
MRSHILL!! I just realized we are both 09/05 brides! WHOOHOO for a having a wedding month twin! :D
Okay ladies...question because this has been bothering me. There is a girl I know who got pregnant (wasn't trying) :rolleyes:. DH and I are not yet pregnant (she knows/knew that when she got pregnant) and one day she said something to me that was almost like a taunting comment about getting pregnant and I really wanted to cuss her out for just plain insensitivity (she's lucky my DH calmed me down.) Long story short, she lost her baby. Do ya'll believe in karma? Do you think God don't like ugly? After she said that to me and then miscarried it always made me wonder...
jenjen0713
06-08-2006, 12:45 PM
pocahontas - I do believe somewhat in karma that "what goes around, comes around" mantra. But, then part of me, hopes that the God I believe it wouldn't do something like that to someone as "punishment". I don't know....I think everything we experience in life is a learning opportunity, the question is, do we choose to learn anything from what we experience?
Man, I had a huge long post ready with replies to almost everyone, and then I stupidly forgot to post it or save it b/f I rebooted my computer. Yes, I'm an idiot. And I can't even claim pregnancy brain (yet). ;)
Anyway, here are a few of them:
ChicagoKate, thanks for posting the link to that mag. I read the articles and found them very interesting.
polkadot, I'm sorry to hear about DH's issues, but glad that you have a plan in place and are dealing with it so well. Taking the summer off will give you a chance to get ready for everything that will come next!
armadillo, very cool! I'm really glad that I started doing acupuncture. I'm looking forward to my next appointment on Saturday and am hoping that it will help with this next IUI we do.
miaclear, acupuncture isn't covered under my insurance plan, but I get a discount from any approved provider. For me, it's half off, so the normally $100 treatment is only $50.
Felicity, your chart looks fabulous!
QOTD, I want to tell my parents next, but I have a specific way in mind of how I'm going to do that, so if I have to wait to tell them then I'll tell my best friend next. And you guys, of course! After that, we'll only tell our siblings and a few very close friends (pretty much the ones who know what's going on with us); everyone else will find out once we hit 13-14 weeks.
lilhimley, 6.3 is on the low end, but it still does indicate an O, and you can take progesterone supps to enhance that number. I have a friend who got pg even when her prog. level was only 5.something, so don't let it get you down that much!
jody, oh, no, I am so so sorry to hear that. Many hugs to you.
ptcrn, hugs. Calling your doc is a good idea. It can't hurt to get checked out.
As for me, yesterday's b/w shows that my estrogen levels are high enough to indicate I'm probably producing follies on my own this month. My doc cautioned me that the estrogen might be elevated due to hormones released as my leftover cysts dissipate, so I'm not getting my hopes entirely up yet. I'm going for an u/s tomorrow and then will know. DH and I decided last night (thank goodness he's strong and can make decisions when I waffle sometimes) that if I get the thumbs up tomorrow, I'll trigger and we'll do another IUI. Can't hurt, right? If it doesn't work this month, we'll most likely do one last round, and while we're doing that we'll do all the prep work for IVF so that we're ready to move on to that if and when we need to. But one thing at a time, so for now, I'm just looking forward to getting probed tomorrow! :rolleyes:
gymwidow:That is so great that your DH is such support for you. I hope that the u/s goes well. Sounds like you guys have a good plan in mind.
Polkadot:Hopefully taking a break will be as lucky for you as it has for others.
QOTD:After DH I would tell my best friend and maybe family. I would like to have a blood test done before telling to many family members.
I am 8 DPO no spotting yet but I have had some cramping, lower temps and Nausea the past few days, but I am trying not to get my hopes up just to have them crushed.
We did decide if this is not the month to take a break and then go for testing. MIL is booking a cruise for next April for the family (part of our christmas) so I don't really want to be due around that time.
Well, resident expert flygirl was right...this is it!
Got my BFP this morning - I took a Fact Plus test and it came back + almost right away!:D :D :D
Though I am thankful, I am kind of in shock that we are pregnant on our very first try! I was actually sort of expecting my test to be + since my chart was so different than it has ever been and I have been *starving* for the past three days. Like I could eat and a half an hour later my stomach is growling! And my stomach never growls! I've also had lots of weird cramps and a bit of dizziness. And I swear around 3 DPO, I just *knew* - I'm not completely sure why things were just...different.
Best of luck to everyone else!
I've gotta run - I'm having breakfast with a friend, but I'll check back in later!
OMG Felicity! Congratulations! I'm so excited for you. :D
Pocahontas, I may be biased, but I'm pretty sure that September is the best month ever to get married. ;)
Nothing to report here. 7dpo with super flat post-o temps, and bored out of my skull waiting. I've been dealing with poor sleep this week. It seems to be stress-related for me. I didn't sleep much right around the time we got married, either. So, so, annoying. :( It's been happening so often lately that I decided to start noting it on my chart. Not so much because it interferes with my temps, but more because if it becomes an issue, I'll want to bring it up with my doc the next time I go in.
ChicagoKate, sorry about AF, but it will be great to live it up in Mexico! Enjoy!
Cowgirl, I hope this is your month...hang in there.
Polkadot, I hope you get to relax over your TTC break. Please come back to visit!
gymwidow, I hope the probe went well! ;)
Jody, I too am saddened by your loss. I hope you are doing okay and can come back when you're ready.
Everyone else...good luck waiting, temping, BDing, and waiting...and testing. :)
Me...nothing exciting to report. CD9. Waiting to O. Boring boring.
I just realized I forgot to move over to the "testing side".
Threadmistress: can you move me to testing the week of 6/12
MrsR - those things could have caused a temp rise, but I've generally found that if I test at the same time my temp seems to stay about the same. Sometimes when I've woken up 15 minutes before I planned to temp, I've taken my temp right away, and then again in 15 minutes. It's usually the same.
It probably depends on the person though, so next time you may want to test it out for yourself -- take it when you first wake up, and then again at your normal testing time.
Your chart's looking good!
Congrats, Felicity! I hope there are more BFPs to come.
I am so frustrated. Temp was 97.0 this morning. I just knew I Od yesterday and I would have a rise today. I know we both want to take a night off BDing, and I know if I do I will get a huge temp rise tomorrow. It's CD 17. Since I started charting in Jan I have always Od on CD 14. What's going on????
Jess71903 -- maybe this is your dip??? Must be so frustrating though. That is one crazy BD schedule, makes mine look like nothing. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll O very soon and then you can take a break and maybe sit on some ice. ;) (sorry if that was too uncouth)
Congrats Felicity!
I'm sick yet again. Allergies suck! The sinus drainage is pushing me over the edge. :mad: Hopefully I can get this dealt with over the weekend and get back to feeling like myself.
Good luck to everyone testing over the weekend.
Congrats, Felicity!!! And on your first try. Does that make 5 already in June???
Mrs. R, I'm really not sure that 15 min difference and a few flip flops in bed could make that much of a difference in temps so I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed that they stay up!
Jess, I know it can be frustrating trying to understand why our bodies do what they do but any number of things could cause you to O later. If you need to take a break, then just do it. If you O tonight, you've still got a chance of catching the egg based on last night, I think sperm remains viable for several days. If your temps stay low, then you have another chance this weekend.
Much love to everyone else testing, bding, or those just hanging out!:cool:
Okay, after messing with my chart a bit, and probably over analyzing, I'm beginning to wonder if FF has my O date right? That weird 'W' shaped thing is really throwing me off. I'm probably just wanting to be more DPO's than I actually am, but any other opinions would be great. TIA! :D
Updated to here.
Congrats Felicity! A happy and healthy nine months to you!
Ladies, the Oct '06 Mommies Threadmistress PMd me today to let us know that neenbean, who we had listed under Taking A Break, is actually pregnant! I included her in this month's list of graduates (since we just found out this month) and, if no one has any objection, I think we should count her as our 4th BFP for this thread. Yes?
Threadmistress - Sounds OK to me, but i think we should perhaps ask her what month she got her BFP (October = January?) and add her to that month's list of graduates. :) If anybody in the future is wondering whatever happened to neenbean, they could look here and do a little math & find her mommy-group thread.
I was wondering ... how do you keep this thread roster updated? If people don't check in for a certain amount of time, do you remove their stats? There's a lot of people in the list who I never see post... I wonder if they're lurking & not checking in, or if they've left CC completely?
gymwidow - Good luck today!
polkadot - Hope the 2WW goes f ast. It only takes one sperm and the egg for live 12-24 hours after popping out, so I'm certainly not counting you out! Keeping my fingers crossed!
cowgirl - Keeping my fingers crossed for you as well!
ChicagoKate - So sorry AF found you! Mexico sounds like such fun and I hope you bring home that little souvenior!
Felicity - CONGRATULATIONS!!! Happy and healthy 9 months!! If you don't have the most perfect pregnancy chart, I don't know what one is. Now,
MrsR - I think it could effect it a little, but not a ton.
Kanga - So sorry about the sinus problems. Those suck!
MrsJackson - I think FF called your O right! Are you trying to get out of being cycle buddies with me? ;)
As for me 8DPO, and I'm going to go to the first page and make a list of the most sensitive tests and go shopping over my lunch hour. Am I pathetic or what? :p
MrsJackson - what does the "W*" mean in your CM row? Looking at temps + CM Dry-up, I would guess that FF has your O-date correct.
However... and maybe FlyGirl can help me puzzle this out... It confuses me a little why FF drew your coverline at 97.68. If I was to draw a coverline, it would probably be at 97.8, which would call into question O date compared w/ CM Dry-up. I wish i could understand what criteria that program used to make its calls!
Good news from me! My u/s this morning showed a 20mm follie on my left ovary and a uterine lining of about 9.5. So I'm ready to trigger! I will give myself the shot at home tonight and we'll do another IUI on Sunday. :)
cowgirl, thanks, I feel really lucky sometimes that he never gives me a hard time about any of this. Only once did he ever say anything to me that really pissed me off, and after hearing all about it, he's never done it again (he dared once to accuse me of being obsessive and told me I should relax! :mad: ). I hope that this is your month and that your packing list for your cruise next spring will include a Pack-N-Play!!!
ChicagoKate, good to look for the silver lining! On the umbrelly drinks. ;)
Felicity, congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
MrsR & j*east, thanks, it did!
MrsJackson, are you thinking you might have O'd 2 days later, on CD27?
MrsJackson, I would say your O date is pinpointed perfectly!!! It is very common to have a dip the day of O, and with your watery CM and spotting that day, it's textbook!! :) Good luck!!
Here is a delivery for you lovely ladies!!!
Congrats Felicity! I hope that you have a wonderful and healthy pregnancy. :)
Good luck gymwidow!
I'm on CD14 and starting the BD action! I usually O around CD19 so this weekend should be, ahem, "fun". I'm trying to stay optimistic without getting my hopes up. My mom conceived both times on her 2nd month of trying, so I'm hoping that is the case for me too!
Have a great weekend everyone.
Man - I miss a few days here and so much happens! There is NO WAY i can do SO's (and only have maybe 5 minutes left online til DD wakes up) so just everyone know that I"ve been reading along - happy for the BFPs, sad with those who AF decided to arrive, and those others dealing with difficult times. *hugs*
I'm just plugging away taking temps every am - surprised how well I've done! I'm nearly done my first month (and hoping its my only month!). Currently am on 6DPO and FF gave me the crosshairs. Not sure what I'm looking at besides my temp staying consistantly higher since the O was detected. FIngers are crossed we timed it right this month - looks like we may have...
Fingers crossed for everyone else too!
jenjen0713- I would never want out of being cycle buddies with you! Don't be silly girl! :D
MrsHill The 'W' is from when I entered Watery CM.
Do you think I should overide and change my coverline? Now that you pointed that out, it's sticking out to me like a sore thumb.
gymwidow-I'm not quite sure what I'm thinking the 'W' dips in my temps are really throwing me off.
Baby Lust, I'm hoping you're right. Although we didn't have a high rating, We did alot of BD'ing that week. :p
