Has anyone volunteered with a baby in tow?

Has anyone volunteered with a baby/toddler in tow? I would like to volunteer somewhere, but I don't know if there is anything I can do when I would have to take my 1yo DS along.

I've worked with cognitively alert seniors in retirement communities and people with Alzheimer's disease in nursing homes. Many of the volunteers (and even staff members) bring their children with them. They're usually a huge hit with everyone.
