I am so bad....we had a lunch meeting from 11:30 - 1:00 and the meeting portion was only 1/2 an hour. Secretly I was hoping the rest was for my shower (not to say they are definitely going to do something, but I really hope they do, especially since DH and I work at the same company). I knew in my heart that it wasn't because nothing besides the couple of things my mom had bought were off the registry, and it really is early - most people don't do anything around here until about 4-6 weeks in advance.

A co-worker's wife was in today with their 3-4 weeks old baby girl. I know I am not ready quite yet, but my heart melts more and more every time I see a little girl.

Off to the dr tomorrow for my 30 week check. Then every 2 weeks after that.

For ROs, do they do an u/s to check if the baby is breech and if so, when? Or can they just tell manually?

I just wanted to drop off this email my mom sent me that I thought was so beautiful:

We are sitting at lunch one day when my daughter casually mentions
that she and her husband are thinking of "starting a family." "We're
taking a survey," she says half-joking. "Do you think I should have a
baby?"

"It will change your life," I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral.

"I know," she says, "no more sleeping in on weekends, no more
spontaneous vacations."

But that is not what I meant at all. I look at my daughter, trying to
decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn
in childbirth classes. I want to tell her that the physical wounds of
child bearing will heal, but becoming a mother will leave her with an
emotional wound so raw that she will forever be vulnerable.

I consider warning her that she will never again read a newspaper
without asking, "What if that had been MY child?" That every plane crash,
every house fire will haunt her. That when she sees pictures of
starving children, she will wonder if anything could be worse than watching
your child die.

I look at her carefully manicured nails and stylish suit and think
that no matter how sophisticated she is, becoming a mother will reduce
her to the primitive level of a bear protecting her cub.

That an urgent call of "Mom!" will cause her to drop a soufflé or her
best crystal without a moments hesitation.

I feel that I should warn her that no matter how many years she has
invested in her career, she will be professionally derailed by
motherhood.

She might arrange for childcare, but one day she will be going into
an important business meeting and she will think of her baby's
sweet smell. She will have to use every ounce of discipline to keep
from running home, just to make sure her baby is all right.

I want my daughter to know that every day decisions will no longer be
routine. That a five year old boy's desire to go to the men's room
rather than the women's at McDonald's will become a major dilemma. That
right there, in the midst of clattering trays and screaming children,
issues of independence and gender identity will be weighed against the
prospect that a child molester may be lurking in that restroom.

However decisive she may be at the office, she will second-guess
herself constantly as a mother.

Looking at my attractive daughter, I want to assure her that
eventually she will shed the pounds of pregnancy, but she will never feel the
same about herself. That her life, now so important, will be of less
value to her once she has a child. That she would give up in a moment to
save her offspring, but will also begin to hope for more years, not to accomplish
her own dreams, but to watch her child accomplish theirs.

I want her to know that a caesarean scar or shiny stretch marks will
become badges of honor. My daughter's relationship with her husband
will change, but not in the way she thinks. I wish she could understand
how much more you can love a man who is careful to powder the baby or who
never hesitates to play with his child. I think she should know that
she will fall in love with him again for reasons she would now find very
unromantic.

I wish my daughter could sense the bond she will feel with women
throughout history who have tried to stop war, prejudice and drunk driving.

I hope she will understand why I can think rationally about most
issues, but become temporarily insane when I discuss the threat of nuclear
war to my children's future.

I want to describe to my daughter the exhilaration of seeing your
child learn to ride a bike.

I want to capture for her the belly laugh of a baby who is touching
the soft fur of a dog or cat for the first time.

I want her to taste the joy that is so real it actually hurts.

My daughter's quizzical look makes me realize that tears have formed
in my eyes.

"You'll never regret it," I finally say. Then I reached across the
table, squeezed my daughter's hand and offered a silent prayer for her,
and for me, and for all the mere mortal women who stumble their way into
this most wonderful of callings.

LTJC I am feeling huge also. I know it will just get worse (everyone keeps reminding me), but I am so uncomfortable already. I haven't even looked at swimming suits yet. Not looking forward to it, but a pool sounds heavenly right about now!

Tuesday'schild Yay for making progress in the nursery!

babylove Glad your appointment went well! Yous u/s story had me LOL! Cute baby belly!

mrstim Great belly shot!

Abby'sMom Glad Abby had a good first night in her new bed! I hope it continues to go so well!

duke's flygirl I hope DDs rash has cleared up! Yay for passing the GTT!

bluhimmy I hope no news is good news!

Virtual Baby Shower - I would still like to do it! I can help with collecting/pickinjg names unless someone else wants to. When do we want to start?

TP Game I measured yesterday and am 10.5 squares. I think that is what I was last time too?

I finally got some rest last night! Lately, I have been waking up multiple times a night very uncomfortable and my body just hurting. I think I was just exhausted too last night. I didn't even wake up until my alarm went off. Yay!

Baby has been so active lately. It is so weird to see my belly move! DH feels her just about everyday now. I love that. :)

amyinlosangeles Wow, that made me cry.

Speaking of that, I have been very emotional the last couple of days. I think that I had been doing pretty well until now. All of a sudden, I am a blubbery mess! Poor DH.

In my Bradley class, they said that moms get more emotional when baby is going though a major growth/developmental stage.

amyinlosangeles - Thanks for making me cry at work :)

Lately we've both done more thinking about how the baby is going to change our lives, but we both know that we won't really realize the impact until she is here. We have a co-worker who was so proud to become a dad, but lately DH said he is complaining a lot about how his wife gets to 'stay home and do nothing' or complains when she goes out that he has to 'babysit' (DH is having fun correcting him in saying that he isn't babysitting if his wife isn't home, he's just living his life)...And we are waiting for him to start complaining about daycare costs when his wife goes back tomorrow.

We're planning a trip in December (with the baby, but we'll leave her with my MIL for a night) and trying to plan other things, but realize we can't fully plan - we may say and think we'll be ready for a night away by November, but there is no predicting, so for now, no planning anything in our lives beyond the first week in August (if that) which is something that 2 anal-planners aren't used to.

Next week I get to officially "apply" for short term disability at the 60 day mark!!!!

CRAAAAAAP! Heard from my doctor's office today and found out that I failed the 1 hour test with a score of 148. Now I have an appointment for the 3 hr test on June 5. Oh well, I'm going to take the whole day off from work as a "sick day" so maybe I can pig out on a nice big lunch after the 12 hour fast and enjoy a nice afternoon.

I visited my final day care last night. It’s part of church in area and I think it’s the one we are going to enroll in. The director that gave me the tour was very nice and excited about everything. They have a lot of teachers (especially in the nursery) that have been there for over 8 years. The nursery would have 8 babies (including ours) and 2 teachers at any time, although they really have 3 teachers who are there at different times throughout the day. Some of the places I visited said “oh, we have lesson plans for every classroom, even the infants, so they learn all kinds of development skills.” Which is great and I really liked that, but really at 12 weeks, I just want to make sure the baby gets attention and is happy.

PS- I've kept my regiatry stalking down to 1 or 2 times per week. Although I'm getting very annoyed that nothing on our Target registry is being purchased. Spread the joy people!

Ok...so think I was off on my previous posting when it came to my weeks. My EDD is 8/6/06 or 8/12/06 depending on what you go by....so if anyone wants to correct me please do:)

Babylove the story of the U/S is downright hilarious!! I totally picture that scene in some comedy movie!!:)

Amyinlosangeles....that is one of the most touching things I have ever read about about being a parent. Thank you

Between Babylove and Amyin...I have laughed and cried all in the course of 5 minutes

Jesseybell....I too am a planner and having been thinking more and more about how having a child will change our lives forever. Sometimes I wonder if I can handle it. My DH has been so supportive and telling me that although it will change it will be a good change...I am not sure if that is a just a naive response or if he really is just more ready then I am.

E&O...sorry to hear about the GTT test. Although it does give you an excuse to take a Sick day I guess....milk it for all its worth:)

I did take my GTT test on Monday and will find out Tomorrow if I passed.

LTJC - Sounds like you are quite busy. Are you hoping to be in the new house before the little one arrives...or are you hoping to time it where you move after the baby? As far as bathing suits...I haven't even had the guts to venutre down that path yet....I will let you what I find once I do

Well, I had a bit of an issue yesterday morning. I had been experiencing off and on cramping (not BH) sharp at some points but mostly dull cramps like period cramps on Monday night. Well, Tuesday morning I woke up and they were constant and not going away. They were hurting so bad I felt them in my upper thighs...I seriously thought my perios was coming. After about 1 hr 1/2 of not going away I called my dr. She sent me to L&D to have me monitored. They put me on the machines and all seemed normal. They also ran a test to check for pretrem labor (it was negative). BUt just to be on the safe side they gave me somethhing to calm the muscles....great for the muscles..bad for the heart! I felt like I had had 5 shots of expresso mixed with a Red Bull!! However, during the preterm labor test the nurse noticed that I was very raw inside (not the cervix, but just below it) and the speculum had blood on it when she took it out. She seemed a bit concerned, but when she told my Dr...she wasn't overly worried. The nurse said I might have some spotting, but not to worry (which as of right now, I have had none)So, I am seeing my Dr tomorrow (an appt that has been on the books for a month) so hopefully she can shed some light on the whole situation.

One last thing...I was going to post a few 3D pics, but I mixed up the discs and left the disk of still pics at my IL's house (in San Diego) so I only have the DVD.

plnubride - my EDD is 8/6/06 and my count currently is 29w3d.

Well, I had my OB visit this morning. Sadly, but not surprised, I didn’t pass my 3 hr GTT. :( So now, I will be seeing my Endocrinologist for gestational diabetes as well. I will be going back to my OB every 2 weeks now. She also scheduled me for another ultrasound for around 34 weeks, and I will be getting weekly NSTs at that point. Good news is that everything else is checking out perfectly fine.

Amyinlosangles – Thanks for sharing that!

Sabriel – My body has been hurting as well. I feel sore, especially the inner legs. My OB said it was the ligaments stretching out. I didn’t experience that with my first pregnancy, and you would think my ligaments are stretched out already.

E&O – 148… I think that’s around borderline right? If I remember correctly, that’s where I was during my last pregnancy. I don’t think you’ll have problems with passing the 3 hr test. Good luck.

PLNUBRIDE – That’s must have been scary for you. I would have been worried too. Glad things are okay, and I hope it’ll stay that way.

AMYINLOSANGELES ~ Thanks for sharing the story. It made me cry. I am super emotional lately.

PLNUBRIDE ~ That must have been scary. Glad to hear everything was okay.

Not much going on here. I think everyone in our house is done with the stomach flu now (knock on wood). We are all still incredibly tired though. My husband wants to start looking for a new house before the baby comes. I about had a heart attack!

Hello, ladies! It's been a while, so sorry about the looooong post :o.

Sorry, I've been so absent lately, but it's been for a good cause. I’ve been working my but off, trying to get a raise/promotion, for the past six months. Well, it finally came to fruition. So, with a new baby on the way, this raise is definately welcome.

Here I sit, 30 weeks (and 1 day) pregnant and I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished much of anything. We still need to get the nursery finished. All we have is a crib (which I guess is good, so he’ll have somewhere to sleep). A family friend gave us a crap load of slightly-used baby gear. So, we’re pretty set in that department.

Things with my pregnancy are progressing very well. This baby is kicking my but on a regular basis. But, I’m loving every minute of it :D.

Here’s my 30 week belly shot – since I haven’t done any in a looooong time.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346%3B79%3B%3C4%7Ffp33%3B%3Enu%3D3233%3E67%3A%3E47 3%3E232467%3A564232ot1lsi

My shower will be Saturday, June 17th. Yikes, that’s only three and a half weeks away, and I have no idea what I’m going to wear. I know I want it to be baby blue, mint green or pale yellow (to match the colors of the decorations). Here are a couple of ideas I have, what do you ladies think?

Maybe this dress…
http://images1.snapfish.com/346%3B79%3B%3C4%7Ffp343%3Enu%3D3246%3E542%3E6%3B%3 A%3EWSNRCG%3D323376%3B468%3C46nu0mrj

With a white sweater like this?
http://images1.snapfish.com/346%3B79%3B%3C4%7Ffp343%3Enu%3D3246%3E542%3E6%3B%3 A%3EWSNRCG%3D323376%3B457%3A%3A9nu0mrj

Or maybe this dress… with a blue cardigan/sweater, or a blue sash tied under the bust?
http://images1.snapfish.com/346%3B79%3B%3C4%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3246%3E542%3E6%3B%3 A%3EWSNRCG%3D323376%3B457%3A%3A6nu0mrj

As you can see, I’m totally lost. I guess I’ll start looking fairly soon.

Oh yeah, thanks Sabriel for setting up the new thread. Hopefully, not that work is getting better, I'll be around more.

I had my 30w appt- everything was great. I officially have passed my 3 hour test (I am still annoyed the nurse never called - she said I would have known if I had failed because she would have "hunted me down"). My weight was up 4 lbs, but that wasn't completely accurate because I had a lot of salty food yesterday, but after the anniversary cake is gone I need to eat healthier - we have no food in the house so I will make sure DH and I go to the store when we are not hungry because that is not a good combo.

My next appt is in 2 weeks - June 7th. I am going to have the pre-term labor test then.

What 'pre-term labor' test? Never heard of anything other than NSTs for when you have complications or are overdue....

I was so ticked off last night. We were supposed to have our breastfeeding class and they CANCELLED it  The chick at the desk kept sending us all over the hospital to "find" the class (here I am waddling like a freakin penguin) then then she - laughingly - says it was cancelled. Umm - you couldn't have told us that 10 minutes ago!?!? So I asked when i get our money back (only $10 but still). I have to call the director. Grr...

DH is starting to get more philosophical around the house now. I really think it has hit home for him. He's always been protective of me, but now he's in super protective mode. It's so great to see. :)

I'm still up for the virtual shower, but like Summer - I'm not 100% certain what is it.

Just popping in to answer the questions about the virtual shower...
I think this is how it works--basically, everyone who wants to participate will let the organizer know. The organizer will then assign who gives a gift to who (everyone will get one person for whom to buy a gift) and there will be a price limit, say $15 total. So I buy a baby gift for my person and mail it to her and someone will do the same for me. It's a "secret santa" type of deal, and it's "virtual" because it's all done through the mail. Does that make sense?

I would be happy to organize, if there is actually enough interest to do it at all.

The nursery is being painted today!! Granted it's just the first step in the process (we are having a muralist come in and do stripes the first week in July) but still, it will be nice to have something on the walls! :)

Hi!

I am still around, just don't get much time to post. DH needs my laptop during the day for a project, so my online time is limited.

We've had 3 Ultrasounds since 18 weeks, but this baby just does not want to show it's gender. DH is really bummed about it. Next appointment with U/S is June 12.

Here's a baby pic and a belly pic for the gallery :) both at about 26 wks.

Abby'sMom- PLNUBRIDE had a pre-term labor test with the issues she was having. My understanding is that it is like a pap smear (an internal - ugh!) and if there is an enzyme present, then you are most likely going to deliver (or go into labor I should say) in the next 2 weeks. Even though everything turned out okay with my cervix (ie it wasn't incompetent) they want to check my cervix earlier than normal because I guess I could still run the risk of going into pre-term labor. But knock on wood - everything is going well!

Tomorrow is my birthday, I'll be 27. Can that be updated? :D

I'm starting to feel crazy pain near/around my bladder when I get up after sitting for awhile at work. It seriously makes me hobble like an old man. Fooey!

Hi soon-to-be-mommies! MaryTX hasn't posted in this thread since the beginning, but she's been following it for the good advice. Now she needs your thoughts & prayers.

Three weeks ago she went in for her 27-week appointment. She felt totally fine, nothing out of the ordinary, but the doctor announced she was 3cm dilated & 75%(? Not sure on that one.) effaced. So off the hospital she went. She was given steroids and a pill to keep the contractions under control, and is now on permanent bedrest, probably all of it in the hospital. She's hooked to the contraction monitor and is having as many as 8 an hour, but she can't really feel them. Luckily she's still feeling fine & has adapted to the lazy life. Except she doesn't have internet access, poor thing. So I bring her my Treo :).

The prognosis is very good that she'll make it to 32 weeks, and hopefully beyond. They're expecting a boy, as yet unnamed. So please think positive thoughts for her!

Kaeden's Mommy Hi!

Mrs. M. So good to hear from you! Glad everythings going well! Sorry your little one is being shy. Do you want us to list you on the front page as a surprise for now?

Things are going well here. My mom took me for a pedicure today and it was heavenly! I am still having tons of BHs, and I started having some swelling in my feet and ankles today. Ack! Hope everyone has a nice holiday weekend!

The joy of swollen ankles. Mine have been out in full-force this whole week. Yesterday I actually brought a step-stool to work to put under my desk so I can put my feet up during the day. I was doing okay until we went to the movies and they swelled up all over again. It didn't help that the movie theatre was about 90 degrees. I also think we are going to have to turn our AC on a lot earlier than we usually do- it is only 75 but incredibly humid and I am already miserable!

It is great to see some of you who haven't been around for a while!

Mrs.M: you look great! Sorry your little one isn't sharing his/her gender with you.

MaryTX: I'm thinking about you and your little man!

jesseybell and jennylou: We haven't needed AC, but I am really loving my ceiling fan at night! We don't have it, but I am sure that DH will be THRILLED when I start wanting to sleep with the windows open too!

Cherish: SO jealous of the pedicure! I have to book one of those soon!

flygirl: Thanks for the update on MaryTX

Sorry if I missed anyone else, I know I am really behind in SO's!

I hope everyone is enjoying your Memorial Day weekend! Our long weekend was last weekend, and we went to the IL's. It was good.

I've had a hectic week though, as Tuesday my DH picked up my daughter at daycare and she was COVERED in hives...so off we went to the doctors. We still don't know what caused it, but we may never figure it out! She is better now, and just as busy as ever.

I have my 29 Week Belly Shots to share with you all, it has been a while since I was able to post any, I'm really seeing a difference, the belly has now met up with the boobs!

Front:

Side:

And just for fun, I had my DH take a picture of me in my flight suit:

And with my DD, who really wanted to be down at that moment:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/dukes_flygirl/MeandRj2.jpg

I really don't know how much longer I will be able to wear my flight suit, my feet are REALLY starting to hurt in my boots by the end of the day. I think I wore it last time until around 30-32 weeks. I see the Military Doc on Thursday, so I should get a note from him saying I can start wearing Civilian Attire (SANDALS!!!!)

Not sure if I posted this here or not, but I will be seeing the OB on 6 June 06. I'm really excited to see her, she delivered Ryleigh, and I was so happy with how she did with my c-section, I hope that it is the same this time too.

Other than that I have my 30 week appointment on Tuesday with my GP, and then I think I start going every 2 weeks! WOW!

I figured out that I have about 7 weeks left of work as of now, and that just blows me away!

Take Care!

We did a ton of little things around the house yesterday, so today we both were tired. We managed to make it to the mall to exchange the PBK lamp I bought the other day that was defective - luckily the new one was fine.

We also looked at the paint samples of the PBK shelving and decided on "espresso" since the white isn't a true white. I ordered all the shelving on-line, so once it is here we should actually be able to finalize the nursery (except for all the wall art).

Woes of pregnancy - we were able to get into the Cheesecake Factory with only a 15 minute wait. I was starving, but with my stomach getting all squished, I wasn't able to eat no where near as much as I wanted to - I can never figure out what to eat there! Dessert did come home with us though!

Tomorrow hopefully we'll both have enough energy to make more of a dent in our to-do list.

Yesterday I also finally added music to my ipod (anniversary gift), so I should be all set for labor (in that regards!) though maybe I should look for some more soothing music - I just added all my old favorites which aren't really very relaxing.

Off to look for "fashionable" diaper bags - we registered for a backpack type, I bought a "babyish" one last weekend. Now I want a "hip mom" one.

I hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend!! :)

Yesterday my parents came up to take me shopping for my birthday. I got so many new clothes at Motherhood Maternity!! My parents seriously liked every outfit except two (they just didn't fit) and insisted that they buy me everything. They are really so generous! We went to Old Navy for my mom and a store called Steve and Barry's for my dad. We were at the mall for about 4 hours. Honestly it wasn't that bad - not too crowded. Then we went to Outback for lunch.

After lunch we went to Menards for some gardening stuff and then a local garden store for some flowers. My parents helped us plant some petunias, impatience and a bonsai juniper tree. We had to weed first then put down some weed killer/fertilizer (I wasn't around for that part). It was a busy and tiring day, but it was so nice.

The Tamale was moving around but again, not as much as she has. I think we were just so busy, she didn't have too much time to think about moving. ;)

Taking a much needed break from the nesting that is kicking in. Energy was back in full-force. DH finally left the house to putter around when he realized that I wasn't going to pay attention to him :) (I am the organizer, he is the cleaner, and all organizing is in my docket for today).
I finally went through the nursery and took at the stuff we have so far out of its packages (blankets, sheets, onsies) and took inventory of everything we have in terms of clothes and blankets - things we didn't register for, so when we go to do our own shopping at the end of June after my "showers" (praying if they do anything at work it is before then), we at least know what we have and don't have - I can't believe between what I've bought and what my friend gave me, I have 16 receiving blankets.

Off to eat and on to more organizing - I'll take the energy while I can!!

Sorry - quick vent ahead!

I'm freaking out. I'm a bridesmaid the weekend of June 10th and have waited until the very last minute to get my dress altered (it's a JCrew dress in a much larger size). I just tried it on and can't get the zipper to the top! It also looks horrendous on me now:( I must find a genius seamstress TOMORROW as I am hoping she can take some of the extra fabric (the rest of the dress is HUGE) and use it on the back to extend it.

Sorry for this craziness. I'm just worried...

jennylou
05-29-2006, 07:55 PM
LTJC - deep breaths - you should be fine. I'm sure there is a talented seamstress who will be able to make you beautiful. :)

It's been a while since I last updated on myself. It's been hot as heck here. I'm feeling very large, but it's not horrible. I actually like this stage of very obvious pregnancy. :) Not to say I don't have my moments, but I'm very grateful to be pregnant again.

Still planning my vbac, my OB is encouraging. I had my 29w5d appt on Friday and I now move from monthly to bimonthly appointments. Of course, she didn't have anything available in two weeks, so it'll be two weeks plus a few days. I can't believe I'm at 2 weeks between appointments - pretty soon I'll be at weekly! I'll start NSTs I think at my 34 (or did she say 36) week appointment.

I have a few things for the nursery to get ready (mostly things we didn't do last time b/c we were going to wait until we brought our "baby" - gender unknown at that point - home. Things like window treatments, a rug, bedding for the twin bed. Since we know that this one will be a girl, I'm starting to make the nursery girlie. :) So, last week I found what I wanted for the twin bedding and bought it.

We finally finished painting the baby's room. The paint color isn't exactly what I had hoped it would be, but it's growing on me. Hopefully in the next few weekends we can put together the chair rail! After that we can put the rug in and set up the crib! I'm getting so excited!!!

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend! Ours was wonderful...I live for this weather. Yesterday was great and I spent the entire day vegging by the pool at the club....and I wore a BIKINI! Suffice it to say I got lots of attention :p Initially I felt self-conscious, but I got over it. After all, when else in life can you wear a bikini AND have a big ole' belly?! :) One lady (a stranger) interupted my conversation w/ DH to tell me that she thought I looked even better than Demi Moore on the cover of vogue when she was pg! What a compliment!

jessey-Good for you for taking advatage of that energy!! Send some my way!

Chimichanga-I always freak out when I am busy because my little guy doesn't move as much. I think we just don't notice it!

I know I am missing a bunch of people, but have to work sometime today!

I had a weekend full of contractions. They didn't hurt, so I am assuming they were just BH. I never had any with DD, so I don't know. It was enough to scare me pretty badly. I am glad I made it through the holiday weekend. IF they start up again, I am going to call the doc.

Saturday, we went to eat with my parents at Outback and we came out of the restaurant and I was passing through the doors and I had the oddest shock come through my stomach. It was like a shock of electricity if I had to explain it. My mom saw me stop and saw the look of my face but it lasted maybe a second. Very quick and was gone. I thought maybe I stepped wrong and Bean hit a nerve. Wouldn't surprise me any. It was really odd, though.

Bean has been moving more and more. She's becoming active right before I get out of bed (after my Hubby gets up) around 6am. I can feel her kicking away. RIght before bed, she's moving around more and more, too. Hubby actually saw her move for the first time, which was amazing. She was a little shy this weekend around my parents and I felt bad because my mom wanted to feel her so bad. Oh, well. There's next time.

Also, when on the beach, I could see how her body had moved to one side of my stomach because of the sun. The sun was hitting my left side and I have a big ole' lump on my right. Too funny.

Wendybeth—Isn’t that always the way? I thought we’d picked out a beautiful shade of blue for our bathroom, but on the walls it almost looks purple. Something to do with the lighting, I guess. I like your color. And what a great view! Are you going to cover the windows?

Babylove—You go! I was toying with the idea of a bikini but “chickened out” and got a cute halter, belly-covering style of swimsuit. I really want to get a tank top to show off my curves, but so far no luck.

Camdynlyn—Yay for all that movement. It’s amazing what our babies respond to. I’ve had a couple times I’ve actually gasped because she moved so quick and so hard that it startles me!

Jessie—Sorry to hear your ankles are swollen. Summer is going to make that a pretty permanent condition. Good luck finding the diaper bag you want.

Jen—Big happy birthday wishes! Did you have a good day?

MaryTX—Thinking of you! That reminds me of when I was admitted for pre-term labor with my first pg. I didn’t feel the contractions, but the monitor picked them up all the time. It’s so hard to have to drop your life like that. I will definitely be praying that your little guy stays put, but it’s a looonng journey to have to be on that kind of bed rest and I’ll pray specifically for you too.

I’m going to biweekly appointments now too. My next one is June 15. I had the glucola test today, hopefully that will come back clear. We had a great u/s today; baby is measuring on track, fluid is still good, hb 169. Baby stuck her tongue out and was licking the umblicial cord. Weird. Gained 2 lbs, very “normal” visit with the dr.

contractions I am still having a tons of BHs. It is mostly just annoying. They go away as soon as I sit/lay down.

Then my mom gets upset, because she says I won't let HER touch my belly. That is not true, I just don't want anyone to touch me. Though, I don't mind too much if people ask first. Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of?1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you Your mother & not some other mom?
1. We're related
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?
1. My mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home & dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

:D :D :D

We have to get some action around here...we are awfully quiet lately!!!

Anyone have a good QOTD??

PLNUBRIDE
05-31-2006, 10:07 AM
Hey there BabyLove...

it has been awhile since I posted, but I have been following along....I guess I feel like I don't have alot to add. Although I did want to share that I did pass my GTT test (119 I think).

It is weird, it has been just in the last few weeks that my belly has gotten bigger and I am feeling very pregnant. I can't believe I still have 3 more months...sometimes it feels like a long time and sometimes it feels like it is just around the corner. I get tired very quickly and the BH are a regualr part of my day.

Another thing....we thought we had the names narrowed down, but now all of a sudden we are almost back at square one.....my DH wants to decided right now and I am not in any hurry.

QOTD: As far as eating goes....how healthy have you actually been eating? I am eating Ok, but I can't say I am eating the perfect diet and now I am wondering if that has somehow effected the baby? Am I the onlyh one that has this worry?

ajlanden
05-31-2006, 10:11 AM
PLNUBRIDE-I feel your pain on names. We had a list and all of sudden we didn't like any of them. It is funny what the reality of a baby can do to your name picking ablility

Sabriel-Sorry about the belly touches. It will all be over soon.

QOTD: Healthy? Ha, what is that? I just don't want healthy stuff. I swear, I could live on cookies and icecream. Half the time I feel guilty and the other half of the time I think, "screw it, I'll be worried about my weight soon enough."

Chimichanga
05-31-2006, 11:06 AM
babylove - that list is SO cute!!!

Sabriel - I've had a few too. They just take me by surprise - it doesn't really bother me that much.

Today I managed to squeeze in a visit with one of the two pediatricians we're considering. The other visit is next week Tuesday. i'm pretty excited I could get in this quick - I just called for the appointments today. :) DH is going to be jotting down some questions from "the book" for me since he's at home right now.

I am having such a case of a stomach ache! I know it's indigestion and i know what caused it. I love pork and beans. Usually I never get gassy from it. Well, I ate some this weekend (we BBQ'd quite a bit) and had some leftovers yesterday. I still didn't get gassy, but it is a gassy food - like broccoli - and I'm having the same pains as I did with broccoli. :( Fooey!

jesseybell
05-31-2006, 11:28 AM
QOTD - Healthy eating? Yeah, right....I really wish I were eating more healthy, but unfortunately I am not. That much more work I will have to do once the baby comes.

My mom told me last night my "shower" (ie a very small gathering) will be Tuesday evening, June 20th.

Our 'pack n play' is going to be delivered today. Something fun for DH to put together tonight, though I don't want to leave it in the living room for 60 days.

I need to run up to BRU tomorrow to get extra bases for our snug ride and see if the ottoman for the glider is in.

Work continues to be crazy - people are already trying to throw as much work at me in the month of June as possible because they know once July comes around they won't be able to count on me being here (either physically or just mentally).

Tomorrow I apply for Short Term Disability! I've had the "60-day" mark on my calendar for 2 months - I can't believe it is here.

QOTD - Not really eating too healthy here either. I try but at lunch that burger seems so much better than a salad. I guess after the baby comes I can stress about the weight, but right now as long as my doc doesn't yell at me I am OK.

I had my GTT test yesterday. There were 4 other preggos there too. It was nice. We all sat together and talked the entire time. It made the hour go so fast! DH started to clean out the baby room yesterday. He didn't do that much, but it made me less stressed just knowing it was started.

Today, I decided to throw DH a surprise party for his bday. It is going to be on Aug 12 (about 2wks prior to my C/S). Hopefully, I can keep it a surprise. I am having it at a park associated with a golf course. He loves to golf so I am going to have his brothers golf with him that day and bring him by afterward. We will see if I can get away with all the secrets. He picks up on the smallest details, so I am 90% sure he will catch me!

I forgot! My mom and best friend decided to throw my a baby luncheon for the new baby. They both feel bad that people aren't as excited about this baby since he is my second boy. I told them it wasn't necessary and that I wasn't sure if it was appropriate, but loved that they wanted to have the lunch for me and new DS. What do you girls think?

Hi ladies! I've been MIA for awhile. I hope everyone is doing well.

QOTD: I haven't been eating as healthy as I should. I feel guilty about it because I was so good with DD1. I need to do better. DD1 was born with low blood sugar and the nursery reccommended we supplement with formula.

I had my GTT last week. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's okay.

Just a quick flyby to see how everyone is doing.

Looks like I'm the only one in the bunch that has gestational diabetes so far. Can I just say that having gestational diabetes SUCKS! I have to check my blood sugar 6 times a day. And it's been so hard to plan my meals. I barely eat normal meals day to day, but plan? Yeah right. Counting and limiting my carb intake has been so hard. I feel like I'm missing something. The next 11 weeks is going to be a long journey for me. :(

QOTD - I've been trying to eat really good diet since I have to. But it's been really difficult trying to keep my carbs down.

PLNUBRIDE ~ Congrats on passing your GTT! I feel the same way about getting bigger...it seems like overnight I'm huge and uncomfortable.

Ashley ~ Half the time I feel guilty and the other half of the time I think, "screw it, I'll be worried about my weight soon enough." Are you inside my head? I think the same thing! :p

Jen ~ Sorry about the indigestion. That's the worst!

Jessie! I can't believe you're at the 60 day mark! Congrats!

Jennifer ~ I think it's great that they want to throw you a get together for your baby...nothing wrong with it at all! All the famous people have showers (and big ones too!) even when it's their second kid ;) You fit right in! :)

KKay ~ Good luck w/ the GTT!

Bluhimmy ~ I'm so sorry about the GD :( {{{HUGS}}} I failed my 1 hr and my dr had me on the diet for a few days and it was tough. But I did lose some weight which was kind of nice since I had gained a lot recently. Just know that it's only temporary and sticking to the diet is the best thing for you and your baby. The ladies on the GD thread are great by the way!

***

QOTD: I eat somewhat healthy. Usually I start off good in the morning and then it's all downhill from there. I just have such a sweet tooth! I just eat too many carbs. *shrug*

***

Sorry to be a pest, but I know we have some members who don't come around here often so I just want to make sure that everyone knows what to do if they want to be a part of the virtual shower--PM me by Friday 6/2! Right now we have about 10 or 11 people...come on ladies! If anyone is concerned about the $ aspect, I planned on limiting the amount to $15.

I just heard from the doctor - I passed my one-hour with an 87!!! YAY! Whew, I'm relieved. I've not been eating healthy at ALL - I'm craving french fries and ANYTHING sweet. Like literally, I could have junk food all day long and be just fine. I'm limiting myself somewhat, even though I'm just at at total gain of 5.5lbs for the pregnancy. My next doctor's appt. is June 23rd, and after that (32 weeks) I'll go to every other week. Can't believe it's happening so fast! Like, tomorrow we can all say we're due the month after next! Wowza!!!!

We went out of town for a week, plus with everything going on at Tim's job, it's just been a crazy whirlwind of a month - if he gets this job, it'll mean a move, but hopefully they'll hold off hiring him until AFTER lil'man comes, so as to not have to face insurance crap!

I sliced open my finger yesterday (twice!) so it's really hard to type right now, plus I need to go finish supper, so hopefully everyone is doing wonderfully and I'll be around a whole lot more soon!

Hi guys,

Just doing a quick pic drop-off - I need to catch up on some work

(copied from my baby blog)
We had our 3d ultrasound today and got some cute shots of Ava. She wasn't cooperating at first and kept covering her face with her hands. Also, like a dumbass I went to the bathroom right before doing the ultrasound and so my bladder was empty making it more difficult to get good pics. She was in kind of a weird spot and had a bunch of stuff in the way of her face but we still got to see her make some cute faces, yawn and smile when she heard my voice. That was the coolest part!

Hope you're all having a great day. : )

Amy - she's gorgeous!! :)

We met our first option for pediatrician today. She was really nice. DH just sort of sat there (I wasn't expecting much more) and I asked the questions. She answered everything fully and seems really nice. I do want to meet the other doctor, but I feel pretty comfortable with this one.

QOTD: I think I'm eating okay. I'm not super healthy, but I'm limiting my bad foods. I have at least 3-4 fruits/veggies a day and plenty of water. I do crave the good stuff but try to keep it to small portions.

I know I told you on LJ, Amy, but awesome pictures! :)

We put the crib together last night. I also put the bumpers on and a temporary cribskirt. There is no crib sheet on it, though, just mattress color. I'm thinking of doing a green sheet, so picture that. The skirt will be a straight cut with green and pink at the bottom for an accent.

Amy - Happy Birthdy and great pics of Ava!

Camdynlyn - I like the color you painted the walls. I keep waffling between a darker pink and a soft pink.

I just called my doctor's office. I passed the GTT with a 101! I'm relieved...for some reason I was worried about the GTT this time (even though I passed last time too). The bad news is that I'm anemic. The nurse I spoke with actually said severely anemic. :( She suggested I take iron supplements (Slow-Fe) and eat more iron rich foods for now. She said my doctor will call me when she gets back in the country.

Summer - Love the crib and wall color! So pretty!

QOTD: Anyone suffering from returning Exhaustion?
I know they say that Morning Sickness can return, but what about tireness?
I honestly feel just like I did in my first trimester with exhaustion - I'm SO sleepy and worn out! I have so much to do and all I can think about is the couch and a pillow! I just woke up 2 hours ago from a nap, and all I can think about is another one! I noticed this yesterday and today, both days I didn't drink all my water, so I'm hoping it's just b/c of slight dehydration or whatever. I'm sitting here trying to guzzlle water to help, cause I hope this doesn't last!

I'm decorating for a wedding tomorrow - it's going to be interesting, but hopefully it'll all come together! Baby is kicking my insides silly - They're getting so much harder now! My whole belly looks like a stretchmarked jello dome!

Happy birthday to Amy. :) Have a great rest-of-the-day.

I've had a rather crappy day myself. I didn't sleep so well overnight (well, I slept ok, but different things kept waking me up starting at 4:50). Then I nearly passed out this morning for the second time this pregnancy, and I'm not sure why. I promised DH I'd call the dr if I continued to feel light-headed today.

Abby'sMom - I hope things got better!! Not good!

We had our u/s today. Miss Thang is measuring around 33-34 weeks. Yeah, I'm at 29w1d. Hmmm... lovely! The tech said I don't have too much fluid - nor too litte - so it's really all baby. I called my mom and sister to tell them the news. I think this will throw a wrench in their shower plans. They didn't say that directly to me, but I could tell.

The tech did say just because she's measuring big doesn't mean I'll deliver early. No, I'll just have a 15 pound 28 inch long baby! :p I did stress that to my mom and sister, but I think they are in the works for something now.

One of the day cares we visited called to say that they now only have 1 opening for our time frame - I don't know if it is a sales pitch or not, but DH and I are going to visit it again (only I saw it) on Tuesday. While it isn't my first choice for pre-school, I liked it for its infant program so I think we probably will go with it, for at least a year or 2. It will be nice to have that checked off. I am going to try to make pediatrician appts for Tuesday as well.

I applied for short term disability. So much paperwork. I have to bring this long form to my doctor on Wednesday. If I don't take any more days off before my due date, then I will get paid full for 3 weeks, 60% for six weeks and unpaid for 3 weeks.

All our shelving from Pottery Barn arrived today.I can't wait to put it together/hang it. Then the nursery will be 80% complete.

My gaudy fake rings from e-bay arrived too. I will be sad the day I have to take my real rings off. But it could be fun to wear the other ones for a bit.

Baby girl makes me nervous when she doesn't move a lot, though last week at the doctor she said she could feel her moving when I couldn't. She's quite active at night though and has kept me up the last 2 nights.

Exhaustion? Exactly the opposite. This morning I was wide awake at 6 am (and all I could think about was when I go back to work that will be my normal wake up time...except it will be November and cold and dark).

DH meant well last night and made pizza, but didn't finish it until 9:30 pm. I paid for it later - I had the worst heartburn when I went to bed. I need to finish eating by 7:30 or 8:00 in order to be okay at 11:00.

My attempt at SOs since I've been so delinquent...

Cherish ~ I get a lot of belly touching too...but I don't mind unless it's a complete stranger. I mean, why would a complete stranger want to touch someone else's belly?!

Amy ~ Congrats on passing your GTT! I am so jealous of the coke and candy bar test! Sorry about your finger and congrats on Tim's job possibility!

Amy (LA) ~ BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Ava is so cute!! Who do you think she looks like? I'm so excited for my 4D u/s which is on 6/17. And happy belated b-day! :)

Jen ~ That reminds me...I really have to make an appt w/ our ped to chat with him. I have been measuring ahead too... I was measuring 30w at my 27w4d.

Summer ~ As I've said on LJ...beautiful crib!

Kkay ~ Congrats on passing your GTT!!

Bluhimmy ~ Glad you are finding support on the GD thread!

Abby'sMom ~ Sorry to hear that you almost passed out!! I would definitely call your OB and not wait for it to happen again.

Jessie ~ Glad you found daycare! Yay for getting the PB shelving for the nursery! I can't wait to see it all put together.

Exhaustion ~ Yup. Though I never really got my energy back in the 2nd tri. I've been tired all along. But the past few nights I've noticed that I'm really tired, very early in the evening.

***

I officially feel huge. I can't believe I still have 11w until my EDD! What an eternity! Yesterday, Truman was ON CRACK all day long. He literally didn't stop moving. I can't explain it! My stomach was bouncing all over the place. I loved it but it was so distracting at work. I kept wondering what the heck was going on in there! LOL!

The fabric arrived in the mail for the baby's window treatment...I can't wait to see the nursery start to come together. My mom called me yesterday and told me that some members at the senior center where she used to work have us our first baby gift--a handmade knitted blanket!! I can't wait to see it! :)

Chimi ~ I had to laugh at the 15lb baby comment! Too funny. You will be delivering a toddler! lol

Abbysmom ~ That's scary! I passed out one time this pregnancy. Luckily it was at the doctor's office. I hadn't had enough water because of the stomach flu and my electrolytes were out of wack. I had to drink a gallon of water and eat 6 small meals that day. Plus have an IV at the office.

Jessie ~ Isn't great to know you have a daycare! I really wish my nursery was 80% complete. I think mine is at 5%. Do you have any pics?

Babylove ~ 11wks to due date! CRAZY how fast time has gone. My boss and I were just talking about me not flying anymore this morning. In 4 more weeks no travel at all!! YIPPEE!

Exhaustion ~ Not as bad as first trimester, but I get really tired in the afternoon. Almost to the point where I want to nap. I am thinking about a bed under my desk like on Seinfeld :D

I have to vent a little. Last night MIL, DS and I were shopping for a baby gift for a friend. She told me to go look for something while her and DS looked at the toys. Next thing I know, she is standing beside me and DS is no where in sight! I freaked. Couldn't find him anywhere. Finally, saw him at the Mickey Mouse DVDs and he looked up at me and said "Mommy! Look Mickey!" It was like she totally forgot about him. Then when we left the store, she let go of his hand as we were getting ready to cross the street to the parking lot! I grabbed him up and couldn't believe how careless she was being. I said to her he is only 2! You need to hold his hand when we cross the street. How she raised three boys, I will never know!!!!!

I'm here and alive. The last piece of furniture arrived yesterday so we need to put it together. That's our weekend project. I'm so ready to have everything in the room put together.

I was watching Maternity Ward last night and a 14 year old gave birth to a 25 week old baby girl. It was scary but interesting at the same time because that's what my baby probably looks like. I'm almost 27 weeks but still, she's about that size. She survived but was in the NICU and weighed almost 2 pounds. I sat there mesmerized to know that I've got a baby that looks like that. I know she's a baby but I can't fathom she's like that, if it makes sense.

Jennylou - they didn't tell me what she weighed, but I could see "chub" for the lack of a better word. Her legs has some padding as did her face and fingers. It was cool to see.

I told one of my managers/friends that I am measuring big and since she's a mother, she kind of understands how it can go. I'm hoping I don't go until August, but really - right now any one of us could go. I'm just trying to be practical. I have a pretty high stress job, and I know stress can induce a lot of things; I'm sure labor can be one of them.

Monday at 8:00 AM I have the 3hr GTT test. I've tried limited sweets as much as possible, definitely cut out a lot of the fruit juice I had been drinking. So wish me luck....

So, I had a little mishap this morning...I was walking (in 3 in platform sandals--they really are comfortable and sturdy!) and my ankle rolled and I completely fell. Thankfully, it was sort of in slow motion, so I twisted my body to avoid hitting my belly on the ground. But it still scared the heck out of me and my dr had me come into the office for an u/s (I'll do anything for an u/s  ) just to make sure everything is ok. Truman is FINE. Apparently, they looks for at least 3 movements, flexing of the head, breathing and heartbeat when these things happen and Truman did all of those things in the first 5 seconds. So, no worries there. I'm glad I went in though just so I wouldn't be worried all weekend. Oy. But I have a confession...when I went to see the dr, I switched to a pair of flat shoes I had in the car so they wouldn't chastise me for wearing heels at 29w! :o

Oh, and I have another low grade UTI. :( So I'm on Macrobid for the next three days. It's just so strange that I have no symptoms!

I'll post some pictures next week after DH puts together the shelving. The walls are still bare.

I just took our kittens to the vet for their 1 year check up - guess they aren't kittens anymore :( He said not to make any special provisions when the baby comes - let the cats climb in the pack n play and crib and stroller. Like all vets have said, they've never heard of a cat smothering a kid. He said we'll drive ourselves insane trying to keep the cats and kid apart and keep the kids stuff cat/cat hair free.

Off to BRU to do a little shopping and to see if our ottoman glider is in.

We have our 1 day baby class tomorrow and Sunday a 1/2 day of how to take care of the baby. I am really looking forward to both of them.

We had our 1-day birthing class on Saturday. It was 7 hours very well spent. They showed 2 very tasteful (and up-to-date) videos which had everyone in tears (even the guys!). I am glad we didn't sign up for a multiple week class - this one was perfect. We are going to practice some of the relaxing techniques in the coming weeks.

Today was a 3-hour "newborn essentials" class. It wasn't as good. It just wasn't enough time, so she breezed through some stuff. The only hands-on stuff we did was swaddling and different positions to hold the baby to soothe it.

Infant CPR and breastfeeding are later this week.

So mad, I don't see my post from last week here. Oh well.

Last Thursday I went to my 3 week check up and everything is good. Gained 5 lbs. At this point, I am so over my weight gain. I took my mom this time so she can hear the heartbeat. My next appointment is not until June 29th. My doctor will be out on vacation so instead of 3 weeks we are doing 4 weeks.

babylove: Just sent you my missing info this morning.

Glad everyone is starting the Childbirth classes. We were not able to get confirmation until next month. They seem to cancel very frequent around here.

Was I the only one overwhelmed when doing their registry? We went yesterday and I was about to start crying in the middle of the store. We didn't know anything about breast pumps, bottle sterilizers, strollers, car seats and swings. We felt very overwhelmed. We found this teenager that was very helpful that worked at the store. He walked us through everything. I feel like I didn't pay attention to anything my friends went through.

Hope everyone is staying cool in this hot weather.

jesseybell- I agree with your praise of the 1-day childbirth class. We had ours this past Saturday too. While it was a long day and I was very tired at the end. I liked it much better than trying to go every week.

My husband was fairly well behaved and admitted he did find most of it very useful- the description of the stages of labor and just a general "what to expect" throughout the process. He hated the relaxation techniques.

Had my 3hr GTT this morning. I realized halfway to the lab that I forgot my book, so it was a LONG wait. I think I read every magazine in the place and was so sleepy by the end (lack of food and blood) that I wanted to just take a nap in the waiting room. I did feel very happy when the lab tech asked me how off I was at passing the 1 hr test, when I told her 8 points, she was like "oh god, why did they make you go through all this again!" She's on my side!

Glucose Test
So this morning, bright and early, I got up and ate my breakfast. I'm still a little confused because it says to eat a good breakfast and gave suggestions. They didn't ask me anything about it though, so I hope it's okay. I drank my Fruit Punch flavored sugar. It wasn't bad at all and tasted like one of those clear fruit drinks (with the aluminum pull back lids) if you know what I'm talking about. Not bad at all but it sure was a lot of sugar. I was feeling jittery so I took an extra biscut in my car for afterwards. I had to wait about 10 minutes until my time and then they drew my blood. Stung a little but nothing bad.

Ultrasound
Then, off we went to the ultrasound. The first thing she checked was my placenta. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!! No previa for me so that is awesome news!! She's also turned head down but on her left side a little (meaning, her body is on my left side and hands on my right). Her face is smooshed really tight against my placenta so I hope she doesn't have a smooshed face! My nose and all is crooked and I believe this is why but oh well.

They checked fluid levels (great), weight (2 lbs. 5 oz-- 55%-- CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS??), heartbeat (134bpm) and then all the sizes of random things. She said she was perfect. Oh yeah, then we did the butt shot and got to see the labia and said she's 100% girl so YAY for her pink room!! :D

I asked about the 3D/4D thing and told her we were interested. She said she'd check to see if we'd be a good canidate today because of the way she was turned and up against the placenta. She said not to waste our money! :( We wouldn't get a good face shot and possibly a decent profile. She did let us see what we could get, though. We decided to come back in a couple of weeks to check again.

We got a bunch of pictures on the CD this time but only a handful of decent ones. I was a little disappointed. Here's the good ones:

Her hand was up at her face. This is a face shot (alien) and you can see her nose and eyes. Her mouth kept opening and closing and it looks like she''s blowing you kisses:

The best 3D shot we got. I still think she has Steffie's nose:

Ok, now that I have everyone's info for the virtual shower, I am going to send out, by PM, the name of the person for whom you are buying a gift. The PM will include full name, mailing address, gender (although if you guess girl, you're probably right! LOL!) and registry info (if any).

Remember, don't spill the beans about who you are matched with...it should be a surprise when you open your gift!

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding a deadline? Should everyone aim to have their gift in the mail by a certain date? Has anyone done this before and remembers how it should go?

Camdynlyn Cute u/s pics!

jarocha Glad your appointment went well!

K&H's mommy Cute u/s pic AND belly!

jesseybell I totally agree about the kitties. Cat hair is just going to be a given around here. No way to keep baby away from it!

anyinlosangeles Glad your shower went well!

GTT I have my 1 hr. on Friday.

Childbirth Classes We have our last Bradley class on Thursday. I am going to miss them! DH and I have both really enjoyed going the last 10 weeks. We met 2 other couples and have learned so much. I still have to sign up for infant CPR, and I also want to make it to at least one LLL meeting before she is here.

Sleep Sleep has not been my friend for many weeks now. I can't get comfortable and my legs hurt from the cramps and RLS. I usually wake up multiple times a night just because my body aches all over. Ugh.

Nursery Progress We got so much done this weekend! DH moved the desk downstairs and cleaned out the office. Then he moved the guest room furnature into the office. Now the nursery is free! I took down the wallpaper border, and it is all ready to paint this coming weekend. :)

Rings I had to take my wedding bands off yesterday. I am wearing my tanzanite ring on the finger now. It is a little loose, but it will work.

Sorry I have been MIA. End of school year was hectic and then I had to go out of town for a wedding. I think am finally caught up on everything I missed. Thanks for starting up the new thread. Can't believe we are already in the 3rd trimester!

Childbirth classes~ We are also doing the weekend class. It is easier on DH's schedule. We are scheduled for July 8th and 9th.

Nursery progresss~ We moved a couple of bookcases and the computer desk and hutch into the guest bedroom on Saturday. Really DH moved the furniture - I transfered books and stuff and told him where to put everything. ;) We have picked up some paint samples but haven't decided on the color yet. Our crib should be in any day now, so we need to make a decision and start painting!

Sleep~ Sometimes ok, sometimes not. As long as I am in a good position and have cool air blowing on me, I am ok. Finding that good position is not always an easy task. Rolling over sucks sometimes!

Rings~ I had to put mine away a couple of weeks ago. I bought a band of small CZ "diamonds" in one size larger than my real rings. It is a little big, but I am so scared of getting my other rings stuck, that I don't mind this one being big. Funny thing is that a couple of friends thought it was real and wanted to know when I got a new wedding band!

Babylove ~ Maybe we all send out the gifts within a certain timeframe. Then we all can get them around the same time. Not sure if that will work. Any other ideas?

Childbirth classes~ Not doing them this time since we a ROs. DS is going to take a welcome baby class.

Nursery progress~ We moved the computer to the new basement office, but still have all the guest furniture to move out. Hopefully, tonight I can start packing stuff up and sending stuff to Goodwill.

Sleep~ What's that? Between getting up to pee, leg cramps and the whole process of turning over haven't had much sleep.

Rings~ Haven't worn for weeks!

GAP.com is having anewborn sale on on-line purchases only. There are some good deals!

We haven't been very chatty lately, have we? I have been around, but just lacking the energy to post.

jarocha-I remember feeling a bit overwhelmed with the registry too. There are just so many decisions!

E&O-Sending you "pass" vibes!!

Summer-I am so glad your placenta has moved (even if it is in teh baby's face!) I hope mine decides to travel upwards too! We will find out in a couple weeks!

Tracee-If I remember my last virtual shower, we had a deadline for stuff to be in the mail and then we all waited and opened up our gifts on the same day. It was lots of fun that way!

UTChick-Yay for summer!!

Childbirth classes-We won't do another one. It hasn't been too awful long since that last one. I am toying with the idea of taking the sibling class.

Nursery Progress-No such thing. :)

Sleep-Oddly enough, I am sleeping rather well. It helps that DD has been STTN great (knock on wood)

Rings-I have been wearing my $10 CZ Ebay ring for a couple of weeks! DH laughs at me because I love it so much!

Contractions anyone? I have been having a terrible time. I am sure they are just BH, but they are annoying! I didn't have any with DD. Is it more common to have them with your 2nd, 3rd, 4th pgncy?

Dropping off a picture. It has been hot here for June. :( I shouldn't complain. We don' t get the heat near as badly as some of you. This is how I plan to spend my summer!

Hi everyone!!!! :D

Life in my world is going great! Can't believe I'm about to hit the 30's!! It was a HUGE milestone for me to hit 30 weeks in my mind. Yes, i know I'm not out of the woods yet, but just seeing that beautiful 3 is wonderful, in my opinion!! The next big milestone will be 34, then 37. After that......well - come out whenever ya wanna! ;)

I found out through the grapevine accidently that there's a secret surprise shower planned for me in the next few weeks. That's all I know, just that it's in the next 4 weeks, and that it's a surprise. We'll see! I do know one thing - I DON'T NEED CLOTHES!! Check out lil'man's stash of 0-3 month clothes
http://images1.snapfish.com/346%3C8463%3A%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3254%3E962%3E847%3EWS NRCG%3D32337%3B5793%3A%3B%3Cnu0mrj
http://images1.snapfish.com/346%3C8463%3A%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3254%3E962%3E847%3E WSNRCG%3D32337%3B57855%3B3nu0mrj

Everything is washed, so far - he has 72 pairs of socks, 20 bibs, 9 pairs of mittens, 31 onesies, 11 shirts, 5 sleepsacks, 26 pairs of pants, 20 sleepers, 8 onesie shirts, 2 sweaters, 8 pairs of shoes, a bathrobe, and 4 cutesy outfits. Sheesh!!!! These were all hand-me-downs from my friends, I think I bought maybe 3 things. My mom bought 7 of the bibs, 1 sleepsack and 6 of the onesies, otherwise it's all free stuff! I had almost double that, but I went through and threw out the old and stained stuff, and the things I just didn't like as much. WOW! That's not including any of the 3-6 month stuff, at all!

I pre-registered with my Pediatrician of choice this morning. You have to fill out the forms online, and then they call you back within 3 days. You HAVE to pre-register with this dr. or he won't come to the hospital, and the pediatrician you're hoping to use has to check out the baby before they'll let you go. So that's another thing checked off the list!

We start childbirth classes in 4 weeks - we're doing the all day Saturday class for two weeks. The last class includes the hospital tour, where I hope to pre-register there as well, since I'll be ending the class at 35 weeks.

So here's a question - I didn't realize how much junk I had clothes-wise already, so I did put a few things on the registry - like one or two packages of onesies and socks. If you were me, would you delete that stuff off the registry, or just take things back if you get them? I did tell the one who slipped (my sil) about the surprise shower that I didn't need clothes, and that to PLEASE stress giving BRU gift-receipts was a necessity, since I heard they changed their return policy. I'll have to go back and look at the ole registry and see just how much I put on there after all!

Everyone looks incredible - I can't believe how far we've all come! All the u/s's look great, and I hope all who are taking/just taken the GTT pass with flying colors! Sorry i can't do replies - I'm behind drastically b/c I've just honestly not been in a chatty mood.

Threadmistress - Can you use this as my belly shot now? Thanks!
http://images1.snapfish.com/346%3C84565%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3254%3E962%3E847%3EWS NRCG%3D32337%3A%3A3%3B2689nu0mrj

I'm in nesting mode again, I guess - I've been tearing things apart - like last night in the picture above, I dumped out all my drawers and went through all my clothes/panties/pj's and threw out what was old, etc. and packed away all my "skinny" clothes, since I was about 30 lbs. above my ideal weight when I got pregnant, I figure I won't use them for a while. My drawers are all organized now. I told DH I wanted it to be where if someone came to help out in the first few weeks, whether doing laundry or whatever, I wouldn't be embarrassed to ask anyone to go to the "fourth drawer on the left side" etc. Maybe I'm insane.

Need to eat lunch - this tapeworm I call lil'man is crying to munch away on something!

We finalized our day care this morning. Thank god! I feel this huge weight off my shoulders. It was cute that on the forms we had to fill out they put "Baby G."- even though we know the name and sex, we didn't want to put it on the forms (they can be modified once she's born) - call us superstitious.

mrstim - I know how you feel about clothes. We have had 2 friends give us clothes and another co-worker (not even someone DH and I are close to) is insisting on giving us her girl clothes. I've already donated a lot of the used clothes we've gotten. On-line at BRU there is a place where you can write a note to people looking at your registry - I simply said that it was a girl and that besides the things we registered for (we mainly registered for larger items - we have a small family and a small network of friends so we didn't feel like we needed to put a ton on it) toys, blankets (I may take that off ) and gift cards are welcome, because you know, what I really want are a bunch of gift cards that we can use at our leisure.

Sleep - I am a horrible sleeper anyways, so it hasn't been good. And now when I do sleep I am having incredibly vivid dreams so I wake up exhausted.

Rings- My e-bay rings came the other day - the center stone is much bigger than I thought. They are gaudy. I haven't needed them yet, but I am thinking any day now.

Quick Update:

Had our 1 day Saturday childbirth class last weekend. We really enjoyed it. We got to take a tour of the maternity ward at the end of the class. The birthing suites are really big and nice. I can't wait until I go there for real!!!

My shower will be July 1. I need a lot of everything, so hopefully a lot of people can come and all of our friends/family won't be away for the holiday weekend.

The baby's room is in need of attention. After we put the chair rail up it will be a lot close to being complete.

Everything else is good. My next appointment is on Wednesday. I don't think it will be an exciting appointment though. They will probably just check the heartbeat.

Okay ladies, now that we are all in the 3rd...let's get down to some questions...
#1-Who already has stretch marks?
#2-How much weight have you gained?
#3-What are you most nervous about?
#4-What are you most excited about?
#5-Are you still giving your DH some "intimate" time?

Here are my answers...
#1-It is hard for me to tell if I have new stretch marks or if the old ones are just stretching out again. I think I have some new ones on my side.
#2-A few weeks ago I had already gained 15 or so. I am sure it is upwards of 20 now.
#3-I am nervous about a lot. The most immdediate worry is pre-term labor. I am such a worry wart.
#4-Seeing what our guy looks like and holding him!
#5-Nope. With my low lying placenta and contractions, I am way to scared! DH is anxiously awaiting getting a clear from the doc!

Anyone else want to play?

Going back as far as I can see on the reply page for SOs...

E&O ~ Sorry you had such a boring 3 hrs with the GTT...I actually went and ran an errand with a friend during part of it!

Summer ~ I've already replied to this post but Beanette is adorable!!!

Cherish ~ Glad you are making progress on the nursery!

UTChick ~ I'm on the market for a CZ band...where did you find yours?

Jennifer ~ Thanks for the suggestion on the virtual shower!

Ashley ~ Love the picture! Thanks for the virtual shower info...I think that's what I'm going to do!

Amy ~ Holy cow! That is one huge wardrobe! I doubt he will even get to wear a lot of that stuff if it's all 0-3 mo. 72 pairs of socks!

Jessie ~ Congrats on getting day care in order! We are hiring a nanny if I go back to work and can't do that until after he is born, and that is such a major stressor for me!

Wendy ~ Yay for your upcoming shower!!

***

Childbirth classes ~ We start next week. It's three Tuesday nights for 2 hrs each. I'm excited!

Nursery progress ~ Carpet is in. Chair rail and crown mouldings are up and painted. First steo of paint job is done. The muralist is coming over tomorrow night to tell us the price of the stripes and ceiling mural. I'm dropping of the fabric for the valance next week. The furniture still isn't in yet but that doesn't bother me.

Sleep ~ Huh?

Rings ~ Some days my rings fit and some days they don't. Usually they don't. My wedding band is a tad bigger and if I wear anything it's usually that one. But I have a plain white gold band that fits. I'm on the market for a CZ eternity band--anyone know where I can find one?

***

So, anyone else registry stalk? I'm not having a shower (that I know of) so I don't even know why I bother looking, but today I saw that something was purchased! Our Fisher Price Aquarium swing! I couldn't imagine who would have bought it, but then it occurred to me that I have dinner plans on Thurs night w/ my friends from my previous job (we have a monthly dinner)...so it could be from them! :)

You snuck in there Ashley!!

I'll play!

#1- I have stretch marks on my tush...both cheeks :o But no where else yet.
#2-About 20 lbs
#3-Is there anything I'm not nervous about?
#4-Seeing what he looks like and seeing DH interact with him?
#5-Heehee...nope. He's not complaining either...I think he's scared of me!

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the belly & the ultrasound pic! Although, my MIL couldn't figure out the picture. ?? Oh well!

childbirth classes - None here. I actually have taught a few so I think I'm good there, LOL!

Nursery - HA! What nursery? We sold our house and will be moving into an apartment for the next 1-2 months. Our house should be done mid August, I hope before this little girl makes an appearance! We have bought the bedding and we have the crib. Still need to buy a new bedroom set for DS.

Rings - still fit

Sleep - It's hard for me to fall asleep and I wake up so darn early. Sometimes my hip falls asleep from always laying on my side too. I remember the last few weeks with DS's pregnancy was horrible. I used to get up and play on the internet at 4am because I couldn't sleep and was SO uncomfortable.

new QOTD
1. Nope. I only got a couple on my bbs after BFing DS, but no where else.
2. 15lbs as of my 24 week appointment, but I have another appointment next week. They accidentally made it for 29 weeks. I'm scared to get on the scale!
3. How I'm going to handle 3 kids. DD is older so she's easy, but DS is crazy right now, he's all over the place. How I'm going to handle simple things like grocery store outings and BFing the new baby without DS destroying the house - that sort of thing.
4. Having our family be complete.
5. Ha - he gets it, but not like before! Although he doesn't really complain. In a few weeks he probably won't come near me because he gets nervous, ha.

mrstim

hm.....
#1- All on my belly! I have lots and lots now around my belly button, they're nasty firey red. :(
#2- 5.5 lbs.
#3- EVERYTHING!
#4- Definitely getting to see him and hold him close. Smelling his baby smell.
#5- We're still like bunnies around here!! :o :o :o

Sleep - am I the only one getting decent sleep?? Granted, I get up to pee 3-5 times a night, but in between times I sleep well! I sleep with this pillow on one side, and DH's pillow on the other. It's a 3' body pillow that I found at Ross for $8
http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/0/1/5/3/4/4/webimg/11703363_tp.jpg

Now watch, I'll sleep terrible tonight!

Nursery - almost done! I have to put his name letters above the crib, and I'm painting a sign for above the window. Other than that, we're done!

#1- None from pregnancy but a couple on the underneath of my boobs from aumentation
#2- 11 pounds as of yesterday (27 weeks)
#3- Nervous about going into labor early and not being at school the first day and progressing too quickly (ha!) and not being able to get an epidural! :o
#4- Ready to see who she looks like!
#5- Ehh.. off and on. We did this week and Hubby was surprised. He said he thought we were done. It's getting more tricky now, though.

Hello everyone - sorry for being MIA for a few days. I had a busy few days.

Saturday DH's family threw me a surprise shower. it was so nice. We got quite a bit of "loot" for this baby girl. We got our car seat so she's now allowed to be born ;) DH and I organized all of the outfits and put everything away that day.

Monday I had my dr. appt. The doctor talked to us about the potential of inducing and well as a c-section. We're not deciding right now, but we'll see how big she gets first. She's consistently measuring big - this week was 35 week. Well, and as the doctor said - neither DH nor I are ballerinas (we're not petite people) so she wasn't super surprised she's big, but we're still keeping an eye on it.

today we met with the second pediatrician. She's nice too - such a hard decision!! But, they all help cover so I'm sure we'll be seeing both of them over time.

QOTD:
#1-I've got some on my belly. Soooooo lovely.
#2-With the 8 pounds this week  I'm up a total of 14
#3-I'm nervous about hurting her when she arrives. Like if I try to get a shirt on over her head and hurt her.
#4-Meeting her
#5-Yes, but very rarely. And it's not intercourse.

Hey everyone....I was going to attempt SO's but didn't realize I am so far behind.

But here are a few:

Chimichanga....oh my goodness, I didn't realize you were measuring so far ahead. That is kind of crazy! So, you could potentially have a mid july baby? So, how did they determine you were so far ahead (U/S or just at your normal check-ups?). So far ALL of my check-ups have been so uneventful (not even a belly measurement)...just curious as to how they can tell. ALso...that is cool about the baby shower....nothing like getting tons of cute stuff and things you need:)

Mrstim - That is an amazing amount of clothes....that is donwright crazy!!! I don't think you will have to do a load of laundry for quite some time with all those clothes at your fingertips!

Ajlanden - Cute pic:). ABout the contractions....this is my first pregnancy, but I can tell you that I get them at least 6-10 times aday. The weird thing is, when I get them I usually feel as though I can't get a breath. I am just using them as practice for labor...:p

#1-I actually don't have any. I am awaiting their arrival though....
#2-20 pounds as of May 23rd (odd, but I don't own a scale at home)
#3-What am I not nervous about! How my life will change, how I will handle all the baby basics (bottles, diapers, sleeping). I was reading the thread "hardest part of being a parent"....and someone posted that the first 3 weeks they desperately longed for their pre-child days and then felt guilty for feeling that way...that terrifies me.
#4-Actually seeing her and having her here and having a whole new family dynamic
#5-Um....poor guy, but no. The last time we actually did it was about 3 weeks ago. THen I had that hospital visit and the nurse said no sex until my dr examined down there. Well, I had an appt that same week but the NP blew off the whole L&D visit and did't even give me an exam (a whole nother topic). So, I have been pleasing him in other ways (which I never really did before) so I think he is very appreciative that I am trying new things and to be honest I would rather do that then the other...especially now that I have a huge belly

Ok...I have to tack on a few questions (or maybe just a vent):

Birthing classes: After talking to a bunch of people I got the feeling that birthing classes are good, but some didn't find them essential. So, I have to admit that we have decided not to do them....but now seeing all of you taking them....am I totally stupid for not taking them? I do plan on getting few books about baby basics (for after the baby is here) so I am hoping that will be enough. But I have also been informed by my NP that even if I wanted a class it is too late now....

Second...I had no idea that all of you are already searching out pediatricians. Is that something that has to be done before they are born?

K&H's mommy
06-06-2006, 07:56 PM
birthing classes - Just wanted to add my opinion here. While I think they CAN be helpful, most of the moms I have ever dealt with have forgotten everything the second that baby is born, LOL! Since I work in the NICU and have also had to float to postpartum, most "new moms" need help with everything in the beginning. Diaper changes take 10 minutes each, putting a shirt on the baby scares them to death, everything... Ask your nurse to show you how it's done and have her watch you do it to give you tips - that's what they are there for!!! I remember this one mom would put her light on everytime she wanted to pick up the baby because she "didn't know how"!!! So if you don't get around to taking a class, don't panic you'll be fine :-)

mrstim
06-06-2006, 08:46 PM
PLNU - As for the pediatrician question, my particular practice does require it. They require online registration, which is basiclly filling out a form, then they call you back within 5 days to tell you if the doctors you've chosen are accepting patients, and they talk to you more and I'm assuming go from there. You have to be an "accepted" patient before you go into labor, so that after the baby is born, they call the ped and he has to come "check" the baby out before he/she can leave. I've heard of that, and also heard of others who just reuqire a phone call from the hospital. I'd check with the ped you're considering to see what their policy is.

#1-Who already has stretch marks?
#2-How much weight have you gained?
#3-What are you most nervous about?
#4-What are you most excited about?
#5-Are you still giving your DH some "intimate" time?

1. I have not gotten any new ones, these are all from Andrew. But, I have a LOT of them. ;)

2. Honestly, not sure. My home scale has me at about 10 pounds. But, the OBs office can't tell me for sure, since I started in one office and then moved to another. They can guestimate based on what the other office started me at and what I am now, but it's just a guestimate. So, they said 18 pounds, which sounds way to high for me. I actually had an old friend ask me today if I had lost weight because she said I'm clearly pregnant but look smaller elsewhere. Can you imagine how much I liked her at that point? ;) Even at 18 pounds my OB said it was fantastic and not to worry about it. I like her a lot too. :)

3. A repeat of last time.

4. Holding another of our babies. The feeling is just priceless.

5. Not that often, but still. It takes more coordination and work on both our parts.

Hello everybody!

Childbirth classes Nope, I am just too busy. Plus I think I remember enough from last time.

Nursery Nothing. This baby will cosleep with us and then share DD's room. We still need a crib, because we had to return DD's, hope to find one soon. But I did get all the baby clothes organized in a closet.

Rings Still fit.

Sleep It's hard for me to fall asleep and DD wakes us up quite early. Having to get up to pee 100 times a night doesn't help either.

new QOTD
1. None. I got some on my thighs with DD, maybe they will come back.
2. No idea, but probably about 10 kilos (= more than 20 pounds).
3. How to handle it with 2 kids, making sure everybody gets the attention and time they need (including me).
4. Holding baby and having it look up at me.
5. Rarely. We are super busy with work and visitors, so at night we just fall into bed and crash.

QOTD

1. None on my belly only my inner thighs. Which I thing is weird.

2. Not sure. I never want to know at the doctor's office and do not go near the scale at home. All I know is I weigh less than I did last time I was pregnant at this time and Doc says my weight is great.

3. How two kids will be different than one and how to make sure DS still feels he is getting enough time with me and DH.

4. Seeing my new DS for the first time and his first smile.

5. Not that often. I usually got to bed before DH so I am sound asleep when he comes to bed.

QsOTD

1. No new ones. Just the same ole ones I inherited from my mother long before I got pregnant .
2. 18 lbs at 32 weeks.
3. The actual birth.
4. Seeing my little boy for the first time, and seeing my DH hold him for the first time.
5. "Intimate time", what's that :p? Seriously, DH is getting totally shafted with regards to this.

Childbirth Classes: We're going to the all day class on Saturday. It should be a fun - albeit long - day. We had an infant care class last week, that taught how to bathe and diaper. Next Wednesday, we have our breastfeeding class.

Rings: Mine still fit. But, if they do get too small, I'll just wear them on my necklace.

Nursery: We have the walls painted, and a crib. We'll probably go get the changing table/dresser within the next couple of weeks. My shower is a week from Saturday, so it all depends on what we get for it.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry, I have been MIA once again...we are moving and I am getting sooo tired!!!!
I hope everyone is doing well. The last time that I was here I was nervous about my sugar test because I failed the 1 hour and had to go for the 3 hour but thank GOD that came back good......
QOTD:
#1-Who already has stretch marks?
#2-How much weight have you gained?
#3-What are you most nervous about?
#4-What are you most excited about?
#5-Are you still giving your DH some "intimate" time?

#1-None at all....I didn't get any with my DS and i gained 72 pounds with him and lost it all and had no stretch marks to show for it!! I guess I am very lucky!!

#2-I gained 45 pounds so far!!!!!!!!! I knew that this was going the same way as my DS....

#3- I am nervous about being a good mommy to both kids! I hope I could handle it and I hope I can give both of them attention!

#4- I can't wait to meet him! I can't wait to see My DS's reaction to him!

#5- NOT AT ALL- The thought of it makes me sick right now! I feel very bad for DH but what can I do??

I can't believe we are all almost there!! VERY EXCITING!!!

Well it's been a bit since I have posted. I've been sooo tired lately. Not much has been going on, well that was until yesterday. I check my bp fairly regularly since I had pregnancy induced hypertension last time. Well, the last few days it had been up some 130-140/80-90 so I called my doc and went in yesterday for an appt. Well it was 150/80, and they aren't very happy about it. I came thisclose to having to go to the hospital to be monitored. So I had some lab work done and have to do a 24 hr urine. I go back on Thursday then again next Monday and Thursday. I will go weekly after that and also have a weekly u/s. Right now we just wait and see what happens. They went ahead and scheduled all the appts and the doctor told the nurse when she asked about something that she was pretty sure my bp will keep getting worse so that makes me kinda upset. I am to take it easy for the next couple days, but no bedrest yet. I just hope that I can keep this baby in for quite a bit longer and they dont have to take it early.

Last time my bp really started going up around 35 weeks, and I made it till almost till 38. I'm just now 31, ughh so frustrating  .

Well now for more fun stuff.........

Rings- I can still wear them, but I don't because my fingers sometimes swell up and I'm afraid they will and wont go back down.

Nursery- Lol- nothing, I don't have a nursery. However, by the end of the year I should  .

Childbirth classes- Skipping them. I am a c/s and I've also seen my fair share of births in person so a video wouldn't be all that helpful.

QsOTD:
1. No new ones, just the ones from pueberty and from getting fatter in college. I didn't get any from Isaac either. There all on my thighs, hips, breasts, and bottom. None on my belly. I'm not holding my breath that there won't be more.

2. No clue. I don't put much stock in trying to gain a certian amount. Unless I am eating awful, I will gain what I will gain. Also I know my doc checks weight more to make sure your not gaining really rapidly (ie retaining lots of fluid) or if there has been some other problem.

3. Most worried about the baby having to come early right now.

4. Getting to see my new little man and introduce him to his big brother.

5. Still pretty often, I'd have it more :p but my dh has been pretty worn out from work lately. I figure now it will only be a matter of time before its off limits, might as well get it while I still can.

#1-None from pg. I only got some teeny tiny clear ones way down in the front of my belly just above my hairline when I was expecting DD (and not until about 39 weeks).
#2-14 lbs as of 30 weeks.
#3-Handling 2 kids while DH is at work all day long.
#4-Meeting G2 and finding out if s/he is a he or a she.
#5-Ha! Har de har har har... I'm still taking Zofran and I have zero drive. None. Zippo. Zilch. Nada. But I did tell him once we get to 37w, he could have at it.

I had my doctor's appointment today. Everything is looking good. She thinks the baby is head down, but she couldn't exactly tell. This was the last time I will see my normal doctor - she's moving away at the end of the month. My next appointment is June 22
The only freaky part of the visit was when she said that after my next visit (ie 34 weeks) they don't try to stop labor! It's very weird knowing that she could be here any day (though there are no signs to suggest that) or not for 10 weeks or any amount in between.
The house is pretty much ready (except things need to be washed). There are a few things I NEED to get done at work before I would feel comfortable leaving, so I pretty much told my manager yesterday to please not give me anything new until I can get these things done in the next 2 weeks. Then he can pile the work on me if he wants - I'll want to keep busy!

#1-Who already has stretch marks? I have them on my hips and I think a couple of popped up on my butt.
#2-How much weight have you gained? 20 lbs as of my dr's appt today - she wasn't thrilled (she only wanted me to gain 20-25 lbs max and I've got 8 weeks to go) but not incredibly concerned. She just told me to back off the white sugar and flour.
#3-What are you most nervous about? How I will deal with so little sleep - I am horrible wench without enough sleep, so we'll see how it goes!
#4-What are you most excited about? I honestly never thought I would actually bear my own children, so actually bringing my own flesh and blood home from the hospital will be an absolute dream come true. Everyday I have to pinch myself that this is actually happening.
#5-Are you still giving your DH some "intimate" time? Our self-imposed pelvic rest continues, but it really doesn't need to at this point - I think we've gotten to the point that it's been so long that we've (sadly) kind of forgotten about it (or don't talk about it).I think it is about time!

Childbirth Classes: We are set for two full days next month.

Nursery: DH is going to start moving everything out of the spare room and setting up for painting. We will hopefully have everything set to paint by Sunday.

Rings: I have not been wearing my rings for a long time. I think its been 3 months now.

QOTD:
#1 - I just noticed some on my breast.
#2 - 33 lbs
#3 - Not nervous about the labor bur nervous about tearing down there. I heard some bad stories.
#4 - Having my baby in my arms.
#5 - DH is having a really hard time with intimacy. Especially since we found out its a girl. Since he read that the baby can hear us, he is paranoid. He said that he doesn't want his child listening to us.

Chimichanga

PLNU - we found out the baby was big during a regular appointment. She measured my belly and we were about 3-4 weeks big. The US confirmed that it's all baby; not fluid or anything. Yeah - I could go mid-July, but I have heard from other mommas who measured big that it doesn't always happen like that.

Childbirth Classes: We aren't taking classes. I'm a RO and think we remember
enough.

Nursery: We haven't started yet. I'm sure we'll get to her room in a few weeks.

Rings: I'm still wearing my rings

QOTD:
#1 - Nope - I didn't get any with DD1 either
#2 - 17 lbs
#3 - Taking care of 2 children and making sure DD1 doesn't feel neglected
#4 - Having my baby in my arms and introducing her to her big sister
#5 - Not that often. Maybe once a week

1- No stretch marks
2- 24 lbs
3- Recovery, belive it or not. I'm more concerned with the pain of recovery than the pain of delivery. And of course, sleep deprivation and breaking down crying all day long because its so hard.
4- Is it a boy or a girl?????
5- About once per week.

#2-How much weight have you gained? 21 pounds, I think
#3-What are you most nervous about? Money.
#4-What are you most excited about? Finally getting to hold this little girl and being a mom.
#5-Are you still giving your DH some "intimate" time? Um, no.

jesseybell Glad your appointment went well!

isaacsmommy Sorry to hear that your bp is going up already. Hopefully you can keep it under control and keep tht little baby in there awhile longer.

mloveya Yay for passing your 3 hr. GTT! I hope that moving goes quickly and smoothly for you.

I feel like I have been gone for awhile. My mom has been in the hospital for the last few days, and I am completely exhausted from running between there and work and home. I kept falling asleep in the most uncomfortable (and only) chair in her room, so she sent me home earlier this afternoon and told me not to come back today.

#2 30 lbs. *sigh*
#3 Tearing during delivery. Just freaks me out. And going back to work. Yes, I am already worried about having to go back to work. :o
#4 Finally seeing this little guy and being 100% sure he is healthy.
#5 Ha. No. It doesn't even cross my mind. How sad is that? Zero drive.

Sabriel - I hope your mom is doing better.

I got the results yesterday that I failed my GTT. I had a 147 and the cutoff was 140. The nurse was confident that I'd pass my 3 hour. I need to get my diet information for the 3 days prior, then I'll schedule it. Thankfully my lab has testing hours on Saturday so I don't need to take major time off from work.

Oh, and I'm also slightly anemic. I'm not really surprised by that. Every time I try to donate blood I'm 1-2 points below where they want me to be. So, now I have iron pills and the pharmacist wasn't sure if I should take them in ADDITION to or INSTEAD of my prenatals. I have a call into the nurses to check.

Yesterday she was kicking around from about 3 p.m. until bedtime. Just super active - and I have no clue as to why. i didn't eat anything different.

Chimi-I am so sorry you failed your GTT. I hope you pass your 3 hour with flying colors!

Chimichanga~ Sorry about the 1 hr. results. But like many others have said, it seems common to fail the 1hr and pass the 3 hr. Best of luck!

babylove~ I have been really thirsty, too. I told the nurse about it when she jokingly accused me of filling the cup with tap water instead of urine at my last appt. :p She said sometimes it is due to sugar in your system, or something like that, but my GTT number was really low -- 87 I think. They tested my urine and said there was no sugar in it, so I guess I am just really thirsty. Maybe the heat is part of it?

So glad to know I'm not the only one who is really thirsty lately...I googled extreme thirst and pregnancy and all this stuff about GD came up which freaked me out b/c I know you can develop it at anytime...I'll ask my dr about it next week.

OK, VIRTUAL SHOWER INFO has been sent out via PM. The PM I sent to all participants will have the name of the person for whom you are buying a gift, address, registry info and gender of baby. Remember, who you are matched with should remain a secret until the gifts are opened! Please mail your gift by June 22nd, which gives you 2 weeks from today. We will open the gifts on July 1st just to make sure that everyone has received her gift. If everyone has received her gift before July 1st we can change the "shower" date. The maximum expenditure is $15-20. Have fun!

jen, sorry about the GCT. It does seem a like a LOT of women are failing this season, for some reason. A friend IRL was noting that a few days ago.

Well I went back to the dr yesterday. My bp was 168/80, so now I am on bedrest, yipee  . They are allowing me to take my little man to daycare and pick him up though. I felt so bad last night when my ds wanted me to get up and do stuff and I couldn't :( . Good news is that my labwork has been great and no other signs of pre-e. Oh and this little man doesn't seem to be being effected too much by all of this. They worry about growth when there is maternal hypertension, but I am measuring 36 weeks:eek: and the dr said it seems like its all baby not extra fluid. I will have an u/s next thursday though, then every tuesday after that.

Cherish- Hope your mom is doing better.

Babylove- Thanks for all your work on the virtual shower! I think I am going to have to do my gift shopping online though:( . That or make dh pick up something I pick out.

JenniferH- I saw that sale at gymbo too. Too bad I have been forbidden from buying any more clothes for the baby since my dh now thinks the baby might be the size of a infant instead of a newborn!lol.

I think all the thirstyness going around is contagious, probably due to the heat.

isaacsmommy - I am sorry that you have to be on bedrest :(

We had our Infant CPR class last night. There were 2 couples, both of us at 32 weeks, 2 nannies, and a mom who had delivered at 32 weeks- her son is doing terrific. He was only in the NICU for 3 weeks. It just got me thinking more and more about how I have no idea how much longer I will be pregnant. Knowing me it will be 10 weeks, but as I speak I am putting together a little document for work "just in case" of passwords and such that they would need to let through a couple of weeks of not hearing from me at all. I think my urgency stems from the fact that I think I am starting to have BH contractions, which feel really weird.

Tomorrow we pick up the ottoman for the glider and our bassinet (our house is pretty much ready except for washing things...except she doesn't have a place to sleep (well there is a crib, but no where for her to sleep in our room)) Then we are heading to BJs to buy enough TP and other supplies to last for months!

Tonight is BFing class - I am really looking forward to this class. Then classes are done!

isaacsmommy, I'm sorry about the bedrest too! Take it easy and don't worry!

I did a huge post in my LJ last night about this, but just the cliff's notes version here. I wound up in L&D yesterday afternoon for rhythmic back pains and contractions (so ha ha on me for thinking I wasn't having any - you'd hope to know what they feel like when you're a RO  ). They were tiny but fairly regular so I had to stay for several hours and drink like 100 ounces of water before they'd let me go. The nurse did an internal and I'm roughly a fingertip dilated, but my cervix is posterior, high and long so no impending troubles. G2 was insanely active with a baseline HR of 135-140, though it ranged from 115 to 160. So anyway, I'll be taking it easier now. As much as that's possible with DD around.

Abby'sMom ~ How scary! I'm glad everything is ok...and didn't you *just* post that you are destined to be overdue w/ this kiddo? Famous last words, eh?? Will you friend me on LJ? I'm macee over there. What's your username?

Well, I'm off to the beach in a few hours until Monday night. I could not be more excited about our little get-away. Yippee!!

I just had to call my OB--again. I'm feeling so much pelvic pressure that I wasn't sure if I had (another) UTI. He said no, it's just normal 3rd tri fun. He also said the extreme thirst is normal too...just keep drinking. Shouldn't be a problem!!

Truman is movin' and grovin' today...I really notice that when I eat healthier (low carbs, high protein, less junk), he is way more active. You would think that would be an incentive for me to stay away from junk food.

Does anyone else just feel really huge and uncomfortable? I don't mean to be a whiner, but I didn't expect to feel this cumbersome until much closer to full-term.

bluhimmy
06-09-2006, 12:41 PM
Yes, I think I'm the only one here with gestational diabetes. I've been watching my carb intake and monitoring my blood sugar level for over a week now; and honestly, it hasn't been too bad. Just a lot more meal planning and balancing my protein and carb intake. Unfortunately no more junk food for me. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but when I'm told I can't have something, I just start craving it more and more!

I'm seeing the OB appt every 2 weeks, so I had an appointment the other day. Everything is looking good. Baby girl is really active and has a strong heartbeat. Looks like I'm gaining a pound a week now; so far, I'm up to 30 total. I have an ultrasound in a few weeks, and will start getting NSTs soon.

Does anyone else just feel really huge and uncomfortable? I don't mean to be a whiner, but I didn't expect to feel this cumbersome until much closer to full-term.

Yup, I feel HUGE. But that's probably because I really am. DH even commented on how I look bigger now than I was with DS. :o

babylove - Have fun at the beach. I'm really jealous.

isaacsmoomy - Sorry to hear about the bedrest. I was in the same situation as you with my last pregnancy. I was borderline pre-e and being told to be in bedrest almost drove me crazy. I hate not being able to do anything. But in the end, it was for the best. I ended up being enduced 10 days before EDD since my bp just refused to go down no matter what. Get as much rest you can.

Abby'sMom - Yikes! That must have been scary. Glad things are okay. I know it's going to be hard trying to rest while having a toddler to take care of, but try to take it easy. :) Oh, as a RO, I still have no clue what back labor/contractions feels like; and it's freaking me out a bit.

isaacsmommy - sorry to hear about the bedrest! I'm sure that's hard with your son right there... I had PIH with DS and ended up on meds during labor but not bedrest.

sherry - Ack, how scary. I'm glad you recognized it and went in. Since I was induced with both kiddos I wonder if I would even KNOW if I was in labor, true or false. I guess it's the rhythm about it though?

babylove - I have that pressure sometimes too, drives me crazy. Sometimes I think she's about to push herself right out of there! Have fun at the beach!

You know some people at my work didn't know I was pregnant until last night. Are you KIDDING me??? One said "oh you just must have small babies." I guess if you consider 8-3 & 8-11 small babies, sure. Also some babies that were due in October were born at work recently. Crazy. We sold our house (yipee) and close on the 30th. So now I have to start packing and move into an apartment for a month or two before the house is done. I am PRAYING that it's done early!!!! Have a good weekend everyone!

isaacsmommy Sorry about the bedrest. Hopefully, you will be able to keep you bp under control.

GTT - I took my 1 hr. on Friday. That orange drink was so nasty! I hope I passed!

feeling huge - Yep. I feel very awkward and huge most of the time.

Thanks for all of your thoughts for my mom. She went home from the hospital on Thursday and is feeling so much better now. :) She has Crohn's disease, so unfortunately it just a part of life. She hadn't been in the hospital for a whole year before this, which is good!

Mom and I went garage saling yesterday morning. Mom bought a kitchen set, blocks and some other toys for when she is a little older. We also found a bunch of clothes. Some of them were even NWT! It was a lot of fun!

I think DH is nesting, LOL. Yesterday, he sanded and painted the baby's dresser. He only has one coat left. It looks great! We also started a new huge project (that we weren't planning on) and are going lay ceramic tile in the entryway and front room. He moved all of the furnature and ripped up all of the carpet yesterday too. Today, my dad is coming over and they are going to start laying the tile.

MIL called yesterday and invited us to go to French Lick with her and FIL for a weekend in July. It should be pretty relaxing. Unfortuately, the pool is closed because they are remodeling the hotel. Boo!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

I haven't posted in awhile. Thought I would try and catch up a little before I start working on a work project.

old QOTD
1. no stretch marks yet...crossing fingers!
2. too embarrassed to say- probably more than anyone here!
3. worried how DH is going to handle the birth process....he'd probably wait in the waiting room if I'd let him. : (
4. can't wait to finally hold my little girl
5. what's that? that probably won't be happening until sept. or oct. poor guy. no desire whatsoever.

Childbirth classes - We had our 1st of 2 classes yesterday. It went much better than expected. DH was really dreading going and actually didn't mind it as much as he thought. The only time he got really light-headed and started sweating was when he was looking at some diagrams of the baby inside and the teacher was demonstrating the doll baby pushing through the skeleton pelvis.... so weird because the videos of the actual births didn't bother him much at all.....well maybe the placenta being delivered...that was really gross! DH has a thing about the whole birth process because his mom got sick right after having him and passed away when he was 1. I'm proud of him for being there for me and for Ava!

The class was completely packed - I was really surprised. It still amazes me at how differently women who are all due around the same time carry their babies so differently. I definitely looked like one of the most pregnant women there.

Sleep - what's that? I am miserable! I actually haven't slept throughout this pregnancy. Usually 4-5 hours is a really good night for me. I've been taking 1-2 Unisoms every night and still have problems going to sleep. I guess I'll be a real pro at not sleeping when she's finally here.

Rings - I usually take them off at the end of the night. My fingers swell up like little sausages. Along w/my oh so cute toes and cankles!

I'll attempt to do some SO's - sorry if I miss anyone

Sabriel - So glad your mom is doing better! I wish my DH would get into nesting mode...although I should say the same thing for myself. I'm hoping it hits soon!

Chimichanga - Sorry about the GTT - Good luck w/the 3 hr. Crossing my fingers for you!

Babylove - Super thirsty..which doesn't help my twice an hour bathroom breaks throughout the night. And yes I feel REALLY HUGE! Because I am! No one can believe I have 2 more months to go. I can't imagine how scary I'm going to look. Not much room to go on my 5'3" fame. Yikes!
Thanks for doing the virtual shower. It's going to be fun. : )

Isaacsmommy - I'm sorry about the bedrest...I hope it isn't too difficult for you. I have a feeling I'm measuring way ahead too.

Jesseybell - Good idea to make that "just in case" document. Better safe than sorry!

Abby's mom - How scary - I hope baby stays put a little longer.

Bluhimmy - Glad the GD diet isn't too bad for you. I am such a junk food junkie - I'm not sure how I'd handle it!

K&H's Mommy - Congrats on selling your house - that's so exciting! How scary to think that October babies are already being born? How are they doing?

We went and saw The Break-up last night. It was actually really funny. I wasn't sure what to expect since it got some mixed reviews. I'm still not sure if I'm having BH contractions. Sometimes my stomach tightens up but it doesn't take my breath away like some of my friends have described it.

Hope everyone is having a good wknd... I have to work for a little bit which I'm not looking forward to.

Oh, I was going to post some pix from my baby shower but don't want to clog up the board - I'll post a link to my blog in case anyone wants to see! (scroll down to June 4)

Well, I've not heard back from my GTT test so I'm assuming I passed. I took it last Monday and was told I'd hear back in 2-3 days if I failed and at my next appointment if I passed. I called Wednesday afternoon and my results were not back but I asked for a note to be put on my file to call no matter what (since I've had issues with racing pulse). I may be jumping the gun but I'm assuming I passed! :) I've got a memo here for me to call tomorrow to ask for sure.

I ate a ridiculous amount tonight. I'm paying for it now by feeling BLAH! I think the baby turned over this morning. She moved for about an hour straight and I was feeling kicks on the opposite side than I was. Strange.

QOTD: Are you doing anything special to your tummy?

My Answer: I consider myself well read and pretty Type A when it comes to most things. My mom thought I'd be nuts with this pregnancy and would play music to my belly starting Day 1 and would do all kinds of odd things. Truth be told, it's the last thing I think about. I do, though, use my Baby Plus thing when I remember, which is about 3 times a week. I should do it 2 times a day but I don't. My mom keeps hounding me to put music to my belly and I told her I didn't have headphones (which I don't). I know they are about $3 but I keep forgetting.

Isaacsmommy—Sorry to hear about bedrest! Be sure to follow the doctor’s orders.
Plnubride—Yes, the books all tell you to pick a ped before baby arrives…but we didn’t. We had such an early birth that we kind of missed out on making those plans. We ended up just becoming patients of the on-call doctor, and he’s great! I’m going to use the same dr. for this baby.
K&H’s mommy—Congrats on selling your house!!

Childbirth Classes: not signed up for any.
Nursery: We now have the dresser and some clothes! Will pick up a crib when ILs stay with us in a couple weeks.
Rings: Still wearing them. : )
Extremely thirsty: Not really. I think I’m drinking a good amount for keeping hydrated and with the hot weather.
#1-Who already has stretch marks? I have them on my (ahem) butt and thighs. Otherwise I have lots of tiny, purple broken vessels right between my breasts and belly where the skin is being stretched in both directions.
#2-How much weight have you gained? About 21 lbs. I was doing well packing on the pounds for a while but seem to be slowing down.
#3-What are you most nervous about? Honestly, I’m still very, very worried about going into pre-term labor again and having an early, tiny baby.
#4-What are you most excited about? Ditto the others’ responses.
#5-Are you still giving your DH some "intimate" time? Yes. In fact, our anniversary was yesterday and we managed to “celebrate.” I plan on DTD until we absolutely can’t.

I have been quite sluggish since crossing over into 3rd tri. Seriously. I know I’m doing a lot less than I used to, but I just can’t keep up. DH is totally supportive. I think we both feel that just so long as I don’t have to go on bedrest, we can deal with my immense need for breaks.
So we had our 7-year anniversary: Yay us! Unfortunately we weren’t able to plan any special celebration. Our Bible study group met that night and threw us a surprise baby shower. It was soooo nice. Just a bunch of girlie clothes, which is what we need!

Umm....guys - the first July baby has been born. REALITY CHECK! Yeouch!

I'm doing great! Last week it suddenly became harder to function - what used to not bother me is now really hard, like bending over (I cannot tie my shoes, which is why I bought my first pair of flip-flops) and I get out of breath very easily. I'm starting to grow out of my maternity clothes - some of my tops are way too tight! That's ok though - not much longer now!

I'm not doing anything special with my tummy, other than I sing to it when I'm in the shower - does that count? DH is tired of hearing the itsy bitsy spider and row row row your boat. I'm insane!

I did have a good weekend - did a LOT of shopping! I picked up 4 new pairs of shoes, another skirt, and I bought the baby's name letters and a wood pattern of a lamb to go in the nursery. I'm hoping to get those done this week. Anyone else have a "to-do" list? I've got one - its in my journal, and I'm slowly working my way through it. I've got lots of projects to finish, now where's the energy fairy when I need her!

Up until last week I had all kinds of motivation and energy - I was nesting some, I got rid of a lot of clutter, etc. Now, I just can hardly move. I even slept through Dh walking through the house this morning, which I used to hear him when he opened the garage. I feel like a zombie no matter how much sleep I get! Must get house done - I mUST!

I have a shower within the next few weeks - nobody knows when it is except the planners, and I'm not even supposed to know it's in the works. My aunt did tell me yesterday that she's going to give me one in late July if no-one else does. Good thing, cause this kid is totally set with clothes, but I have nothing else. Well, one pack of wipes and dipes, but that's it.

The baby is so much more active now - this morning my whole belly was grooving and moving! DH even came flying across the room to sit and stare for a while - you could totally tell the way the baby was laying in my belly! He would scrunch all up on one side, then you could actually tell when he'd stretch his legs/arms, then back to the other side, etc. DH said he didn't know that was even possible for him to move that much - he figured it'd only be a few small kicks. Guess what, honey - it'll be worse before it gets better!!

It's miserably hot here, though - yesterday was 96 with 98% humidity. That's almost inhuman! Thank God I can be inside most of the time! I find that I have to drink almost insane amounts of water or I get really bad leg cramps and get really dizzy/lightheaded. I've been averaging 1-1.5 gallons a day!

I go back to the doctor on June 23rd for my 32 week appt. After that, I'm every other week until 36 weeks, then every week. \

I'm going to attempt to do replies - if I leave you out, I'm sorry!

Summer- Hope you did indeed pass! It took a lot longer than they said for my results to come back as well! Hope you get a call soon!

Amy - What a fun looking shower! You do NOT look that huge! You're cute! I showed DH and he said you were smaller than me, so see! ;) Sorry you haven't been able to sleep well!

Cherish- pass over those nesting vibes to DH, please! I don't think it's sunk in yet that the baby could be here sooner than later! Sorry about your mom's hospital stay - I have had colitis, which I thikn is similar, so I can sympathize! Bless her heart!

K&H - They didn't know?? Seriuosly, some people are dense! I had someone look at me yesterday in the store hatefully because I tried to get around them and had to say excuse me cause my belly wouldn't fit. When I walked past, then she said "Oh, she's pregnant, ok!" I'm like duh - doesn't the basketball attached to my hips tell you anything?? Glad you sold your house! Good luck with the move!

Bluhimmy - Glad it hasn't been too tough with GD! Just think, junk food heaven in a few weeks!!

Tracee - I did want to say thanks for all the work you put into the virtual shower! I promise to get my gift out asap - I'm planning on working on it today! Hope your beach trip was fantabulous! Yes, I feel very huge and uncomfy, but I'm finally happy for once in my life with my body. Now if I could be happy with my pregnancy acne'd face, we'd be rockin. ;)

Jen - Sorry you have to go for the 3 hour! Yuck! Take a book or something! Also, I wanted to mention that all that iron in addition to the iron in your prenatals could cause some serious plumbing issues, so if you haven't thought about it - take some colace or something to keep from being in pain! I didn't and oh, my!!

Abby's Mom- Oh no! Be careful! It sounds like you might be one of our first mommies to deliver! Hope you don't have any other problems!

Jessie - I didn't even think about taking cpr classes! I'm already certified (well, it lapsed last year) but I did hang the procedures and such on the back of the door. BH's are weird, no? You seem so totally prepared! When I get something accomplished for the ahead of time, I feel so much more relaxed, maybe I should tackle my to do list now!

Jenn - So sorry about the bedrest! I'm sure it's tough! Good luck! Yay for all those ultrasounds! I don't know when I'll get one.

Kathy - Our GTT numbers were identical! Mine was 87 too.

Mloveya- Good luck on the move! Congrats on passing the 3 hour.

Jennifer - thanks for the heads up on Gymboree! I loved the fire-truck line! Although lilman has so many clothes I'm forbidden from buying right now!

TuesdaysChild - Happy 7 years!! I too have been very sluggish, although mine just started last week. Up until then I was go, go go - now I'm just like "lemme sleep!" I can't get enough rest, but I still force myself to at least do the basics!

Hope I caught everyone! Off to eat my "second breakfast." :o

The nesting thing is so much fun - a lot of what we are organizing has nothing to do with the baby. DH was replacing doorknobs that I've had in the basement for 5 years (it was fun because we were deciding which doors should get ones with locks and ones without - the nursery won't have a lock on it until she is 18! (not that we plan on being there in 18 years) and our 2 bedroom doors definitely are getting locks - I have too many friends who don't DTD enough because they are afraid of kids walking in - I may have been okay with not doing it the last 7 months, but when I can, I don't want 3 year olds coming in!)

I am definitely getting increasingly uncomfortable and frustrated by my limitations. DH is going to have to start feeding our cats because leaning over to put food and water on the floor is just very uncomfortable. And there are some nights I just want to cry in bed because turning over is such a production (and # of times I need to get up to pee are increasing as well).

I need to go check out about the July Mommy birth - I've been waiting for that to happen and told myself that's when I would really freak out :)

But all-in-all, while our house is ready for her, I am not. I want a least a couple of weeks of not nesting and not running around to enjoy DH and our last times together, just he and I.

My "shower" is Tuesday the 20th. My client is here Monday-Wednesday of next week. I wonder if my work shower (if they throw us one) will be then or not or if the client will just bring my gift (I already know they are getting me a gift).

I just got back from yet another dr appt, lol. It went alright I guess, I am now up to twice weekly appts instead of one  . My doc said that are goal is now to get me to 37 weeks, but she wouldn't be suprised if we had to deliver before that. She said "It's pretty much coming" refering to full blown pre-eclampsia. I also got the "we will admit you to the hospital" threat again.

I am definatley in nesting mode now, but of course I can't do anything about it. My poor dh has been great, but I feel so bad for him having to do pretty much everything now and work full time on top of it.

Well I am feeling kinda crappy so I'll come back later and do some majorly overdue SO's.

Although let me go ahead and say thank you to everyone for the support you've shown me and for listening to my whining.

Summer - another 87!!! That makes three of us with the exact same number! Glad you passed!

Jessie - Leaning over is tough!! I understand wishing for some down time - I unfortunatly just updated our calender and EVERY weekend between now and baby is covered over!! Well, now and due date, he could come before that!

Jenn - So sorry you're dealing with all this! PLEASE take care of yourself and believe me, I know I don't mind you "whining" althogh you have every right! I've whined enough too - and I don't have to deal with what you're dealing with! Before long I'm sure the baby will be here and you'll be back at top-notch speed, so take some time to try to regroup and enjoy the time off! {hugs}

Summer - re: putting headphones to your belly. I heard that can actually cause hearing damage for the baby. The amneotic fluid acts as a conductor and she can hear just fine now. But, if you put such loud music to your belly, it could harm her ear drums.

I scheduled my 3 hour for Friday, 6/16. It kind of ticks me off. I had hoped to get in on Saturday but they don't do testing then :( So I have to take a half day off of work. Just stinks. I wish it could be in the afternoon, but I'd have to fast until the test and there's NO way I could make it.

I'm feeling pretty big. My mom commented that it looked like I grew a lot in a week. Great!

mrstim and Tuesdayschild~ I have gotten a lot more sluggish lately, too. I will be doing fine and then all of a sudden I have to lie down and take a nap. I pretty much take a nap every afternoon and then sleep a good 8-9 hours at night. :o I was feeling a little guilty about it, but hey, I am running out of time to get all this sleep in. I am taking advantage of it now!

isaacsmommy~ Take it easy. I know it is hard, but let your DH do what needs to be done around the house. I am sure he doesn't mind especially considering the circumstances. And we are here for you to vent to. That is the whole purpose of this group!!

Camdynlyn~ Congrats on your GTT results! So weird how 3 of us had the exact same number!

We went to the doctor this morning. No wonder I have been having back pain and belly button pain. He has totally moved around in there. He is now on my right side and face up. His feet are right above my belly button and his back is against my back. Dr. G says that is why I have been experiencing low back pain lately. So, we need him to roll over, but there is plenty of time for that. He also said that I am on track to gain around 40 lbs total, so he wanted to warn me of that so that I would go ahead and accept it now. He knows me pretty well. ;) I can't believe I only have 11 more weeks! This is going by so fast and I have so much to get done!!

Just went to the bathroom and found some blood. Imediately I called my doctor. I have an appointment right now at 1pm. Hope everything is ok.
Has anyone experienced any bleeding in the 3rd trimester? The nurse assured me that its common but its scary to see blood. I do feel the baby moving and yesterday I felt tightness like mild craps. Figured they were BH since this is my first baby I am not even sure how BH feels.

Please forgive the absence of SOs; I'm just not in the mindframe to do them at the moment. X-post from LJ:

I'm freaking out. Really, really freaking out. Like it's possible that I've never been this freaked out in my ENTIRE LIFE.

I had my OB check. I think I was up 5 lbs (over 2 weeks) to 162 and my BP was 124/80 but I don't even care about that stuff.

He did an internal (since I went to the ER last week), and I'm dilated to 2 CM. AND 50% effaced. WTF?! I was dilated a half a fingertip and not at all effaced as of FOUR DAYS AGO. I asked how that could have happened, and he said it's likely that I'm just doing too much on a daily basis and not relaxing enough. He pretty much told me that I'm not going to go full term and that his goal is for me to go another 3 weeks, to 35 weeks, so we can avoid the really serious NICU time. I was so stunned. I can't even describe it. He said that 32 weeks is 'ok' in terms of delivery - that it's borderline for babies born to not have any serious long-term problems, but that 34 or 35 weeks would be much better. I was reasonably calm in the office; my next appt is Friday at 12:45 to check to make sure that I'm not progressing anymore. He said to do as little as is physically possible and to drink gallons of water. And he also said that if I have more than 5 moderate to serious contractions within an hour, I should go straight to the hospital. I just got in the car and completely fell apart, which sucked because I know that emotional upset can encourage labor. UGH! So for now I just pray like crazy that this little G2 of ours stays put for another 3 weeks.

Yep, last pregnancy - turned out I had a fibroid (I think that's what it was) on my cervix.

Hope everything is okay for you!

OB appt for me tomorrow - I'm on the two week schedule now. I have an appt with a ped (who I think I'll choose - I have lots of recs and there aren't many around here) on July 6th. She doesn't normally even do appts like these, unless there are special circumstances. When I mentioned a previous infant loss, the receptionist was more than accomodating. Hopefully the ped will be willing to prescribe the monitors we want the baby on and hopefully she can code it so that the insurance will pick up the cost! Otherwise, it'll be like $400 per month.

I'm feeling really huge lately. See what I mean:

sherry - Ack, I'm sorry this is happening, I'm sure you're super freaked out right now. I did have a friend that started to dilate a little early and then never went into labor & had to be induced at 42 weeks. So you could really go full term with G2. Also, 32 weeks (for a NICU nurse is nothing). I don't even blink when I go to those deliveries. Usually the baby is about 4-5 pounds and is probably in the NICU for a couple weeks. They just need to learn how to eat since most 32 weekers will suck and suck but then forget to breathe...that's their thing. Try and take it easy, if you have any questions just ask.

jarocha - I hope everything is OK with you. I had a little spotting with DS but (like Abby'smom said) it was after DTD. Let us know how your appointment goes.

Isaacsmommy - sorry about the issues you're dealing with too. I had it with DS, had IV meds for it during labor, the works. It's definitely not fun but a healthy baby is the only thing that counts. I hope the BP stabilizes and you're not admitted.

mrstim - ya for some shopping! I noticed I'm having trouble picking stuff up at work too. A few times I've just kicked stuff over to the garbage can and figured someone else can pick it up, LOL!

Sabriel - so glad to hear your Mom is doing better. I have a friend that has Crohn's disease. I've also taken care of a NICU baby with it. I was told it's pretty rare for a baby to show symptoms so early, normally it shows up later in life.

amyinla - hopefully your DH won't be one of those that passes out during delivery ;-) My DH is pretty squeamish with all of that stuff and was fine during labor and all that. Just make sure he stands near your head instead of at your feet! Yep October babies already. They are doing as well as to be expected for being born so early! They have a long road ahead of them. The baby shower looked really nice. Was that at someone's house?

camdynlyn - congrats for passing your test! I have to take mine on Wednesday.

****

Nothing interesting going on here. I take my GTT test on Wednesday and then have an appointment. I am petrified to step on the scale I know I've gained a lot. I keep eating this sundae bars that are soooo good. It has been so hot here that I just can't resist them. I think we found a bedroom set for DS, it's really gorgeous and should last until he goes to college. It took us forever to find one, hard/solid wood is hard to find. Hope everyone else is doing well!

Time to catch up with the August mommies now that I'm back from the beach!

bluhimmy ~ I'm glad the GD isn't as bad as you thought it would be. I'm the same way about craving things I know I can't or shouldn't eat.

UTChick ~ :) I am glad we had a chance to get away before August...too bad the weather didn't cooperate as much as I would have liked.

K&H'smommy ~ Congrats on selling your house! I'm sure that's a huge weight lifted off your shoulders! In defense of those people who didn't realize you were pg...I've seen your belly shots and you do look fabulous!!

Cosmic ~ I'm terrified to think of how uncomfy I will feel by the time this guy arrives!

Sabriel ~ I'm glad your mom is feeling better! Yay for nursery progress!

amyinLA ~ I'm so scared of DH's reaction to the childbirth classes...we start tomorrow night! He's really a wus around blood, etc. Glad I'm not the only one who is super thirsty and getting up to pee constantly at night. Oh and my BH contrax don't take my breath away either, they're just annoying.

camdynlyn ~ Isn't it crazy that we now sort of can tell what position the baby is in? I love that! Congrats on passing your 1hr!
Tuesdayschild ~ Happy Anniversary!! How great about the surprise baby shower!

mrstim ~ I can't believe there is a July baby!! Thanks for the "thanks" re: the virtual shower :)

jesseybell ~ Too funny about the door locks! Right now our bedroom door won't even close properly (mental note: get that fixed before Truman hits toddlerhood!)

isaacsmommy ~ I'm so sorry to hear about the potential for pre-e again...at least you've been through it once before and know what to expect (not that that makes it any easier!). {{{HUGS}}}

jarocha ~ I hope everything is ok! Please come back and let us know!

Abby'sMom ~ Oh dear...I'm so sorry...I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through. Please try to relax as much as possible. {{{{HUGS}}}}

jennylou ~ Glad you found a ped you like and hopefully you'll get the monitors too!

QOTD: Re: my belly....we read to it (him?) sometimes....I talk to my belly a lot...oh and I slather cocoa butter on every single day (as if that will help with anything

Back from the beach...we had a nice time even though the weather was so-so. It was warm but very windy so I spent most of Saturday and Sunday bundled up with towels and a sweatshirt. Oh well...at least I relaxed and did nothing, which is a rare occurrence at home. I slept GREAT too...I think it's that ocean air. :) Oh and DH won Truman his first stuffed animal on the boardwalk...a horse!

Now it's back to the real world!

ETA: I'm really annoyed w/ my BRU registry...almost half of the items on the list are "not currently available". WTF?

Sara, thank you. I was hoping you'd say something like that. It just wasn't what I was expecting AT ALL. I figured I'd still be a fingertip (or maybe less than that) and that everything would go on as it's been going. I wasn't expecting progression, especially since I haven't felt much of anything to speak of.

I just looked at my paper I had written my GTT number on and I wrote 85 when she told me so I actually had LOWER than I thought! :)

Jarocha: I hope all is well. Please come back to let us know!

Abby'smom: I know that must be scary. Please take it easy and relax!

Since there is already a July baby and we have one already dialated some, do you think we should go ahead and do Due Date Buddies? Had my sister take me to the doctor and they did a internal exam (which was very painful). Also, had both external/internal u/s done. The baby is ok, we got to see her heartbeat. The doctor said I had minor placenta separation. This weekend I did stuff I should of been doing, such as bending a lot. I also took out the garbage yesterday. Since DH was doing the floors of the baby room, I felt bad asking him to set up the computer in the new office. I know I should of not done it. I have to be on bed rest for the next two days and no DTD for a while, which is no problem since we have not for a few months now.

Abby'sMom: Really sorry you had to go through that. I can just imagine how you feel. Take care and relax.

I have a drs appt tonight at 5:45....dying to see how far ahead I am measuring this time (last appt it was just over 2 weeks!) and if the dr can estimate the baby's size. Afterwards we have our first childbirth class--this is for real...a baby is going to have to come out of me!!

Just popping in to check on everyone!

jarocha-I am so glad that you found the problem. How scary for you! Please take it easy! :)

Summer-I think "buddies" are you a great idea!! Are you volunteering to pair us up? :D

Tracee-I am so glad you got some good relaxation time on the beach. Sorry the weather wasn't ideal!

K&H's mommy-I hear you on the fear of getting on the scale. I have no will power either. If I want it, I WANT it!!!! I hope you are plesantly surprised at your weight!

Jenny-I think you look absolutely beautiful! Personally, I think you are the definition of "glowing"!! You both look so happy!

Abby'sMom-You are in my thought right now! I can't imagine how scary that news must have been. Just know that your docs know what they are doing and things will be fine!! Sending that little baby "stay-put" vibes!

UTChick-Isn't it nice to know the reason why you are experiencing all this discomfort? I right with you on the weight gain! AHHHHH!

Chimichanga-I've really popped a lot the past couple weeks too. Aren't the comments great?

isaacsmommy-I am so hoping the pre-ecampsia stays away!! I am thinking about you. Bed rest, schmed rest... I hope you have some good books.

Amy-Flip flops rule!! I hope you are surviving the heat!

Tuesdayschild-7 years!! That deserves a big congratulations! :D

QOTD-I talk to my belly a lot. I read and sing to DD often too. It makes me laugh because whenever I am reading to DD, he bounces and jumps around. It is like he is saying..."hey, don't forget that I am listening too!"

Had an appointment yesterday. My total weight gain is 29lbs. H/b was great!!! I have another u/s on the 27th to check placenta position. I continue to visualize that placenta moving up! Come on PLACENTA!!!

I am going on a business trip to Dallas on Friday. I am so scared. The doc says, that everything will be fine. I can't wait until I am home safe and sound!

Take care all you August mommies!
All of you who are experiencing health problems are in my thoughts and prayers!

ajlanden Glad your appointment went well! Too cute that baby likes to be read to too!

babylove Have fun at your appointment and class tonight! Glad your trip went well! My BRU registry is doing the same thing.

jarocha How scarey! Take it easy from now on.

jennylou You look great! Hope this ped works out for you!

Abby'sMom I would be so scared too. Relax as much as you can. We will be thinking about you and hoping that G2 stays in there as long as possible! (((hugs)))

Due Date Buddies I'll probably just update when we get home. We only stay at the birth center for 4 hours after the birth. I also have a RL friend that can post updates for me if needed.

Not much new going on here. I feel like time is going so fast now. I can't believe I am already 30 weeks! My next appointment is on Thursday, then I think I am every 2 weeks after that!

OK....Time to catch up on my SOs. Sorry if I miss anyone, I am really behind.

Abbysmom ~ Try to get plenty of rest and not stress out too much (easier said than done I'm sure). Everything will be OK.

Ajlanden ~ I haven't tried reading to the baby yet, but DS and I talk to the baby everynight about what his big brother did that day. DS likes to show the baby his toys and kisses him goodnight. Makes me want to cry. Glad your appointment went well!

AmyinLA ~ You look great in your baby shower pics! Believe me you are not huge! Your DH will be fine. I was worried about my DH when I delivered first DS, but he was great. He won't talk about it now though. He says it brings back bad images. Now I am worried how he will do this time around b/c I am having a C/S.

Babylove ~ I have been very thristy for milk and water. I love making a pitcher of water with lemon, lime, and orange slices. YUMMY! I am addicted. Glad you had fun at the beach even with the not-so-nice weather. Have fun tonight!

Bluhimmy ~ Glad the GD diet is going well.

Camdynlyn ~ Congrats on passing the GT! I had mine the Tuesday after Memorial Day and haven't heard anything back. I am guessing that means I passed. I have an appointment tomorrow, so I will know for sure. Due Date Buddies is a great idea!

Chimi ~ Good luck with your 3 hour GTT.

Isaacsmommy ~ Hang in there and try to take it easy. I know it's hard with an active two year old running around.

Jarocha ~ No more taking out trash, etc. Glad everyone is healthy. Take it easy!

Jennylou ~ You and your husband look so at peace. Very clam, relaxed, and happy!

Jesseybell ~ Leaning over is so hard. I only wear slip on shoes now. Usually flip flops. It is also hard to get up off the floor.

KHMommy ~ I hate it when people tell you they didn't know you were pregnant. Last time, a coworker told me they thought I was just getting fat! Congrats on selling the house!:D

MrsTim ~ I have two lists a "To Do" list for me and "Honey Do" list for DH. Never is going very well. Only one thing is crossed off each of our lists.

Sabriel ~ Glad your mom is doing better.

Tuesdayschild ~ I too am very tired since starting the thrid trimester.

UTChick~ Sometimes I wish the doctor wouldn't tell you that the baby is causing your pain and discomfort. Mine is breech so him kicks my bladder all the time!

Can't believe how fast time is going. My SIL works at a hospital doing speach therapy. She just called to tell me a 22 weeker was born today. She isn't even the size of my SIL hand!

I can’t believe I’m 33 weeks!

I just got back from my doctor’s appointment. Everything is looking good. She said I’m measuring a little small, so I’ll probably be having a small baby. Also, she said she’s not one of those doctors who wait until the mother is dilated a certain amount, before she gives the epidural. She said, as soon as I say I want it, she’ll make sure I get it. How wonderful is that!?!? I have another appointment in two weeks (June 28th), then I start going every week.

______________________________________________

Amy – Yay, for shopping! I really need to do some as well.

Camdynlyn - Whoo hoo, for passing your GTT.

Jessie – I’m getting more and more uncomfortable and frustrated by my limitations, as well.

jarocha - I'm glad everything is okay. Please take care of yourself!

Abby'sMom - Wow, already dilated. I'm crossing all my crossables that your little one stays in for another few weeks!

Jennylou – you are not huge! That is such a great pic of the two of you. You look fabulous!

Babylove – I am so jealous that you’ve been at the beach. I could really use some fun in the sun right now.

Ashley – Sending moving placenta vibes your way.

Just a quick vent.... Can every person I come across please stop telling me how big I am and that they (gasp!) can't believe I've got 2 more months? It's starting to get old. The friggin' old Don Knotts look-a-like security guard at 7-11 whose dentures come loose when he talks is about to get a swift kick in the ass if he doesn't stop laughing at me everytime I come in and say, you know I think you got twins in there.... And every female stranger I see in the grocery store or wherever always says "I bet you're having a girl"...ummm.... let me guess, because I'm so wide across? This is not helping my major lack of self esteem these days. And it doesn't help that when I gain weight the first place it goes is my face, so I really don't look like the same person from 8 months ago, it's crazy. Even when DH sees me walk in the room if he hasn't seen me all day he always looks surprised.

Ok, enough complaining. 2 more months, 2 more months...that's all I can say to make me feel a tiny bit better.

Wish I was posting something a little more positive!

Ashley ~ Move placenta move!! :)

Cherish ~ An October mommy was lurking in our thread and PM'd me to say that the "unavailable" items on our registry really just apply to online registries and that the store should be well-stocked. Good to know!

Jennifer ~ Look at you w/ the alphabetical SOs! :p Water w/ lime, orange and lemon slices sounds soooo good!!

Bree ~ Yay for getting an epi the MOMENT you feel pain :D Could I have one right this instant? LOL!

Amy ~ Oh dear...I'm so sorry you keep coming into contact w/ insensitive slobs. The janitor in my building asks me every single day "how are the twins"...I want to knock out her remaining 4 teeth everytime I hear it! I really think that people don't consider how sensitive pg women are to their size...I saw those shower pics and you look absolutely PRECIOUS!

***

Tonight's appt went well...here are the highlights:
Weight: up 3 lbs for a total of 22 lbs
Fundal Height: measuring 9 days ahead at 32w
BP: 110/70
Baby's HB: 125 when resting, 138 after some movement
Baby's position: Head down, body on my right side, legs on my left side

I think that's the good stuff. My next appt is on July 3rd. After my appt, DH and I went to grab some dinner and then to our childbirth class...which was CANCELED! Thanks for the advance notice. It was really looking forward to it.

I am sick of the comments too....yes, I have 6 1/2 weeks to go, yes there is only 1 baby in there, and I am going to get a whole lot bigger before I get smaller.....and a small vent about DH: Why he chose to wait until I was 6 months pregnant to start exercising and he steps on the scale every day and makes comments about his weight (going down) and he wonders why I am not supportive of his weight loss. Ummm...I don't remember him being supportive when I lost weight for the wedding. Not exactly in the mood to be supportive when I can no longer see my toes.

Everything went well at the doctor's today. GTT came back good with a 98. No more blood work!!!!:D Heart beat was good, weight good, bp good. Couldn't get any specific details because the Doc and DH were talking World Cup the entire time. C/S is schedule at 730 on August 28. I am measuring 2 weeks ahead, but doc says it is because DS is still breech. Next appt is on June 29.

Hi ladies! Well I'm still here hanging out on bedrest. I have read along the last couple days just haven't felt up to posting (darn headache  ) I go back to the dr tomarrow and I get an ultrasound and BPP which I am excited about (love seeing my baby, and want to make sure he is still a he). It kinda funny I am starting to look forward to going to the dr even if it means more blood work and such since the appts are my only outings, lol.

JenniferH-Congrats on the GTT! Yeah I am measuring about 4-5 weeks ahead, but the dr laughed and said its all baby too.

Jesseybell- I hear you on the comments from people about the size of your belly, only thing is I really am that big! Oh and my DH has been working out too, but I am glad he needs something to relieve all the stress around here, otherwise I think he'll be crazy by the time this baby gets here.

Wendybeth- I love your nursery!

Jennylou- Ditto to what everyone else said- you look great!

Babylove- Glad your appt went well, sorry about the childbirth class though.

Amyinlosangeles- I'll hold the old bat and you kick him! hehe. I get the comments to even from women who should know better! One guy I work with insists they missed the second baby on the ultrasound  .

cocoa_femme I'm glad you dr is so willing to get you the epi when you want it. I think I'd have said how about right now? :D :p !

Sabriel Only 4 hrs after birth!!! Wow, I had to fight my way out last time. The nurse kept saying you can stay another day if you want.

Ajlanden- Sending move placenta vibes you way! ;)

Jarocha- Glad everything turned out okay!

Abby'smom Hope baby stays put a while longer. If it makes you feel any better a friend due June 17 went into preterm labor at 32 weeks and they had to put her on mag to stop the contractions and even that wasn't completely successfull at first. The drs thought the baby would be here pretty soon even with drugs to stop labor, well lets just say shes still pregnant and due tomarrow!

I know I missed some, but I am thinking of everyone!

No real time for SOs, but I promise to do so later.

Yes, I'm sick of the "you've got that much time left?!?!?" comments too. I suppose I could go ape on them and blame it on the hormones though :P

Just found out last night that OSIL is having a miscarriage. She was 11 weeks along and now there's no HB. I didn't know they were even trying; I really don't know what to say to her. She didn't tell anyone in the family they were trying/PG, so it was a total shock. i guess if I had the baby (and not still pg) it might be *easier* somehow, but I feel a bit awkward since I'm still pg.

QOTD: Has anyone packed their hospital bag yet?

Camdynlyn
06-14-2006, 12:08 PM
I have a question, when people ask me how far along I am, I usually tell them in weeks (such as, I'm 28 weeks). What exactly is that in months because most usually ask? I know it's equal to 10 months but what is it based on 9 months?

mrstim
06-14-2006, 12:38 PM
Summer - I have struggled with this one too. Since doc's calculate Lunar Months but the average person wants to know actual calendar months, I tend to answer the average person with whatever weeks I am divided by a typical 4 weeks. This is a cool chart though:

http://images1.snapfish.com/3473545%3A%3B%7Ffp344%3Enu%3D3254%3E962%3E847%3EWS NRCG%3D323383846759%3Bnu0mrj

HTH!

QOTD Nope - planning on doing that within the next couple of weeks and keeping it by the back door. I would keep it in the car, but DH drives it at night, and I use it during the day, so if I ever had to have it at night, I'd be sunk.

Chimichanga - maybe just send a card telling her how sorry you were to hear the news. I'm sure she'd appreciate that someone thought enough.

hospital bag - hahaha. Ya'll are funny. :p I packed the diaper bag last time before hand - and packed my bag the MORNING my water broke. Yep, that morning. I also ate. :p Seriously, I didn't want to pack anything before then because I couldn't decide what to put in it. I was due in May (which here can mean warm or cold) so I didn't know what to put in it to wear home. So, I just waited. Plus, I wore maternity (not full belly, but still maternity) clothes home, so I didn't want to shorten my wardrobe any by packing it in a bag.

mrstim - oh my gosh, you mean I'm 8 months! I've just been telling people how long I have left - ie, less than two months now. Or, if they push and ask for months (since I'm not sure), I'll always say "well, my Dr considers pregnancies to last ten months, and I'm X months along".

8 months?! - I tell people 7, though usually I tell them weeks....now is mostly how many weeks left.

QOTD - I put our 2 bags in our bedroom closet(down from the attic) and stuck a copy of our "what to pack" list in each, just in case. I have a couple things in there, like I bought disposable cameras in case our digital conks out, but I don't plan on really packing for a while.

Speaking of cameras, we got our video camera we asked FIL for yesterday. No, we don't plan on video taping the birth, but since my ILs don't live close, we want to be able to send them stuff. Thankfully they sent it early so we can figure out how to use it.

Yeah I know! :) I stole that from the Sept. Thread when it first started! Amazing! I'll be "8 months" Saturday. I'm feeling every day of it. ;) Nowadays I just say how many weeks left. That normally gets the same reaction - you know the mouth open, eyes bug out, they look at my belly and slowly start to back away....... ;) ;) Yes, that's happened!

So is anyone else nesting?? I'm sitting here surrounded by all the papers from our filing cabinet and weeding out what I want to burn. I'm seriously crazy.

Insane nesting going on in our house. It is a lot of fun actually. We have a dumpster in the parking lot at work which we don't know when they are going to take it away, so we keep filling up the car with junk we want to throw away or cardboard we don't want to break down - otherwise we have to pay for our trash or breakdown the cardboard into small pieces.

06-14-2006, 04:15 PM
Nesting? ehh... not so much right now. I'm still *insanely* busy at work so I get up early and leave late. Except when I have a doctor's appointment or something. So, nesting has had to go by the wayside for now. But, things appear to be looking up at work. I finally have someone identified to take over my two biggest accounts. It looks like she's going to start working with me NOW so that might mean I can start to totally take steps back. Whew!

today I was on a call and I could totally feel her head on my left side. So odd!! :D

Thank you all for the placenta move vibes!! I will slurp them in! :) I have been doing some reading on c/s and the biggest thing I would be concerned about is not being able to lift DD for weeks afterwards. I don't know how that would work.

Bree-You get the epi the minute you get to the hospital! :) I am jealous!

amyinlosangeles-You are not only with the comments. UGGHHH!

jenny-Yay for uneventful appointment! Those are the best kind!

wendybeth-So cute! It is only missing one thing...a baby! :)

jesseybell-Darn your DH for choosing now to lose weight. He is supposed to gain it with you!

JenniferH-Congrats on passing the GTT!!

isaacsmommy-I am glad you get to get out, even if it is just to the doctors. Hope you are getting some good rest anyway...

Chimichanga-I think Jenny is right, a card just to let her know you are thinking of her would be a very nice thing to do.

Hospital Bag-Nope. I really haven't thought about it. I have to get my rear in gear when I get back from Dallas. I have nothing ready for this baby! I am kinda excited to pack because I feel like I actually know what I will need and what I won't! :)

Nesting: HA! I sat around waiting to "nest" last time and I never got hit with it. Doesn't really surprise me. I am not a nesting type of person. Mabye I'll get some this time! My house could use it!

28 minutes left of the workday...

QOTD: Hospital bag - Nope. I'm kind of still in denial that (a) I have to be hospitalized at least over night and (b) that I have to squeeze a human being out of my body...so...no, packing my hospital bag is not high on my agenda :p But I feel like I should at least have a list of what to pack...anyone have one of those?

QOTD: Nesting - I'm not sure if it's nesting or just being sick of looking at unpacked boxes...but I've been going a little crazy trying to get more organized around the house. Could also be b/c we just moved...

JenniferH

Hospital Bag ~ Not yet. Doesn't seem to be time with all the nesting I am doing.

Nesting ~ Totally freaked out at DH this AM because he isn't getting his stuff done fast enough (finish shed, put DS bed up, clean out office). I feel like I am running out of time and the nursery will never be ready for the baby.

We had our newborn care class last night - ehh. Mostly common sense stuff but I am glad we took it. I thought it would be more interactive, but we just watched a video. we did practice bathing, diapering and swaddling the doll, so that was somewhat helpful.

Next week is our birthing class - that one should be good! ;) After that I'm officially allowed to have the baby (my rules).

Tomorrow is my 3 hour test - joyful. I'm trying to get as much done today as possible so my Friday will be easier when I get back to work.

Hello everyone-

Well I passed my 1 hour GTT test. There were 5 other women in the lab all doing the 3 hour test while I was there. One was there with a 9 month old. Having a 9 month old and 28/29 weeks pregnant while sitting in the lab for 3 hours? I'm tired just thinking about it! I've been taking iron supplements since the beginning of pregnancy so she was very happy about my other labs. She was not happy about my weight. I gained 9 pounds in 5 weeks. Whoops. But that means I'm up 24 pounds at almost 30 weeks, that's not THAT bad. Blood pressure was good, which makes me happy. It was right about now that it started going up with DS so hopefully it stays down. I do not start 2 week appointments until 36 weeks. Weird I know. My next appointment will be July 5th.

We found an apartment to live in until the new house is ready. PLEASE have the new house be ready before this baby comes!!!! My timing is really crappy right now, LOL! Found a big boy bedroom set for DS so the new baby will have his nursery furniture. I also found the cutest bedding for him. I just sold his old Pottery Barn bedding on Ebay - woo hoo!

nesting -well it's hard to say since I'm packing to move!! I'm so sick of keeping this house model clean (while people were viewing it) that I probably won't nest at all!

hospital bag - haven't given it a second thought. I'm way behind most of you though!! I do know that I overpacked with DD, underpacked for DS (wasn't planning on being there 5 nights!)

******************************************

chimichanga - good luck with your 3hr test tomorrow!

ajlanden - I hope that old placenta moves too. You still have time, it really could possibly move. At least if you have a c section you'll know when you're going to have him :)

Isaacsmommy - good luck at your appointment and have fun seeing your baby on screen.

wendy - the nursery looks fabulous!

amy - People are so annoying. What is it about pregnancy that makes them think they have to comment on our weight or our big boobs or whatever else they can see. I remember I was 31 weeks with DS and I told someone I had 2 months left and I swear he almost passed out and said "you still have 2 months to go???" Thanks, I have no self esteem right now and THAT really helped! :p

Jennifer so sad about the 22 weeker. We don't even resuscitate those because they are so early. I feel for those parents!! Glad we are all in the home stretch!

Ok....DS is trying to destroy the house, better get back to him. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Saturday I'm going to a first birthday party of my primary baby from work. She was born at 23 weeks at just barely a pound. I'm so excited to see her!!!

My good friend at work told me that my manager asked him to plan our work shower, so I guess it isn't next week after all! I am so glad my manager isn't planning it (I thought another co-worker might, but she just gave her notice). He asked if it should be the first or second week of July...I told him the week before the 4th would be best. A lot of people are away the week of the 4th...and I don't want to wait until mid-July - I plan on going shopping after the shower to get odds and ends and I don't want to wait until the last minute. I told him he better involve DH and his co-workers - the wedding shower they threw was just for me (even though it was co-ed) and I really wish DH had been there (we work at the same company).

I had my appt today, and it proved to be eventful as usual! I had my us first which was great (the tech snuck and did 3d/4d for me), but while I was in the waiting room I became really dizzy. So they checked my bp and gave me something to eat. The bp actually was fairly good, still elevated but not crazy. Eating didn't seem to be helping so I had to go to l+d to be monitored.

Went to the hospital got all hooked up asked a million questions. Nurse asked me if I had been having any contractions, nope. Then asked a million more questions. When she was done she goes "You know you are contracting every 4 mins." I was like   . I thought my poor dh was going to fall out of his chair, lol. All my labs came back good, bp was actually great while I was there (my dh said he didn't believe the machine :p ), baby looked good and contractions stopped shortly after. So I got to come home.

Later I'll try to scan in some of the 3d pics! Oh and if the estimate was close my baby definatley is gonna be a big boy, 4lbs 13oz!

Chimichanga Sending good passing vibes for your 3 hour GTT tomorrow!

ajlanden I'm sending you placenta moving vibes also!

I had my 30 week appointment today. All is well:

My bp was 104/60.
Baby's heartrate was 150.
I am measuring 31 weeks (up from 25 weeks just 4 weeks ago!)
I gained 11 pounds in 4 weeks. (Total weight gain 26 pounds.)
I passed my GTT last week with an 88. Yay!
All of my other bloodwork was also normal.

I go back in 3 weeks, then again in 3 weeks, and then go every week after that!

Here is my 30 week belly shot:

Jen—Glad to hear they have your replacement figured out!
K&H’s mommy—Sounds like a good appointment on the whole. Maybe the weight thing was just a fluke. GOOD LUCK having your new house in time. Yikes
Isaacmommy—Wow, that was a scary visit to the office! I’m glad they let you go home again.
Sabriel—Yes, you seem to have popped out a bit more, but now’s the time to do it. You look really, really good.
Mrstim—Thanks for that chart! I usually answered based on the calendar month I’m in, ‘cause ppl won’t double-check it.
Abby’sMom—Big (((hugs)) for your scare. I know my DH said he kept thinking of the due date as a “guaranteed deadline” and it IS hard to accept that you may not have all the time you wanted!
Amy—You sure have a lot of vocal people bugging you! I would just give them a LOOK but that probably wouldn’t matter, huh.
Wendybeth—YAY for having your nursery done! I think you “win.” LOL
Jennifer—Wow, you already have your c/s scheduled. Sometimes I think I would like to know the date just to have a “plan.”
Has anyone heard from MaryTX?
QOTD: Hospital bag—Not packed yet. Don’t want to jinx myself, and I am at the tail end of this group at only 29 weeks.
QOTD: Nesting—Yup. Mostly it’s the way I’ve started thinking…I want to do this, we need to find that…but I have the urge to dust too. I never dust if I can help it!

Had my dr’s appt today too. I gained 3 lbs, baby’s hb was 148 (I think she was asleep), and they told me I passed my GTT. My iron was borderline, which is unusual for me, so I had a big steak for supper tonight. YUM. Next appt is slightly less than 2 weeks away, with another u/s to check fluid & cervix length.

I just happened to look at my ticker - 45 days!!! Wow!!!

It is supposed to be over 90 here on Sunday - I can't wait to break out the maternity tankini again and relax in the pool.

Jenn - LOOK AT THOSE CHEEKS!!! How adorable - they made me cry. Since I'm not having a 3D U/S I guess it didn't hit me till just now how real babylike our little people look in there!!!! K - off to find a tissue now........

Threadmistress - totally not a problem, glad I could contribute! :D

I'm 30w5d today, not much going on - my pelvis feels like it's jammed into my hips. It's time for a massage, that's for sure! :D For those of you who've had one - do you have to get naked and how much do they cost? I found ONE place around here that does them and it's $30 for 30 minutes, which sounds totally reasonable.

I'm completely obsessed right now with choosing announcements, so both my LJ and my CC journal have examples posted, if anyone is bored. :D

isaacsmommy your baby is precious!!!! what a cutie.

just stopping by to say I HATE BABIES R' US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just checked my stupid registry and 14 of the 25 items are NOT AVAILABLE. What a joke! I should have registered at Target. My baby shower is next weekend - this really bites.

amy - I was just going to post something about this. 50% of the stuff on my registry isn't available either, I don't know WHAT is going on. For my DS maybe one thing wasn't available? I wonder if they are doing something with the website???

I just found out that our new house won't be finished until SEPTEMBER!!! :( That means it will be me, DH, DD (who is 10), DS (who is 20 months) and a newborn in a 2 bedroom apartment, less than 1000 square feet. No nursery to decorate, booooooo!! I am soooo upset. They did knock $20k off the price but STILL. I was hoping for the end of JUly and be all ready and unpacked before the baby comes. AUGH!!

I am having the same problem with my BRU registry, but from what I have heard, "not currently available" only applies to shopping online. It is no indication of what is stocked in the stores, if that makes sense. So hopefully people will actually go into the stores and print out the registries instead of relying on the online info.

BBL w/ SOs but jut wanted to say that my registry at BRU is the same way...actually, I posted about this last week. An October mommy-to-be PM'd me and said just what Kathy said, that it just means those items are out of stock online but not in the store. It sucks though!

Oh Sara, I'm so sorry about your house! That's SO typical.

Registry drama - I didn't register this time, but I remember that would occasionally happen with BRU - things would be available and then unavailable from one day to the next, sort of randomly.

Thanks for all of your comments regarding my situation. I had another OB check today and fortunately, I'm still at 2 cm and 50% effaced. Of course, I did nothing at all this week, so that probably helped some. :) (My ILs took my DD for the week so I could chill.) DD will be back with me next week though so I'm hopeful that she'll be amenable to me needing to keep off my feet! Anyway, I'm basically high-risk now (yay) so I have to go in weekly from now on. They're crossing their fingers that we'll get to 36 weeks.

mrstim
06-16-2006, 06:54 PM
Yup - my registry is the exact same way! I have 88 items, only 30 are supposed to be available online. Out of those 30, 22 are not available. I did register at Target as well, though - for that reason. I shouldn't have more than probably 5-10 gifts coming from online people, so I'm not worried about that too much. Course, not a thing is bought off any of my registries, and my "surprise" shower is within the next week or so I think. I really don't know WHEN it is, I just know it's happening w/i the next 2 weeks, and I found that out totally by accident. Oh well.

I just went on a nice little walk - I bought new tennis shoes last week and OH my. They're like heaven to my sore feet. :D I'm loving it! I may just wear them out between now and baby, I think I've found the shoes of my dreams right now (well, that and my Keds Flip Flops).

Dh had to work all night for overtime, so I'm alone at home now. :( BOO!

jesseybell
06-17-2006, 07:17 AM
BRU - I just checked mine too. Something has to be up. 90% of the other items say they are not available, when they have been available before.

I was pretty excited to come home to an Amazon box (advantages of not checking my registry). It was a BRU gift from a friend who will be at my shower on Tuesday, but she is so busy and not close to a BRU that I know it was easier for her to order on-line and have it sent to the house: it was our "breastfeeding essentials" kit- bottles, manual pump, breast pads, sterilizer - just a nice starter kit to have in the house, and if BFing doesn't work, we don't need to rush out and buy bottles right away.

mrstim
06-17-2006, 07:54 AM
Oh, I forgot to tell ya'll that according to the BRU manager at my store (I was checking their return policy) he said that the BRU Website is about to change. They're breaking away from Amazon.com because they said they had had so much trouble with them. Maybe that's why it's all screwed up! Perfect timing for all of us, right??

31 weeks today, and I woke up feeling like I've been kicked in the crotch. Literally - I have pains all in my crotch right now. That whole area down there just aches, and if I sneeze or cough - oh, I feel like I'm falling apart down there. What on earth?!?!?!? . I guess nothing is TMI or sacred round these parts, though - we ARE about to have to talk about dilation and all that fun stuff.

I've lurked in the other pregnancy threads that were before us - starting with the January thread, since I found out I was pregnant in December. I watched all those ladies have their babies. Then the Feb, March, April, etc. and NOW?? They're popping babies out in the July thread. Um, guys - that's like the month before August. Which means that very, very shortly this thread is going to explode with all kinds of activity. Just as long as it doesn't happen TOO early. I was telling DH last night that as much as I am ready for this pregnancy to be over, and to have lil'man here, I'm NOT ready right now. He needs to incubate several more weeks, for my sake, yes, but mostly for his sake. I know that a delivery now would result in a few weeks in the NICU (Right K&H'smommy?) and I so don't want that for him. So here's STAY PUT VIBES for all us August mommies for at least a few more weeks!!!!!

REMEMBER TO DO YOUR KEGALS TODAY!!! ;)
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

We went to a buffet last night and I ate too much. :( I got SO nauseated while sitting there, it was miserable! Thankfully, we were with family, so they all sat around and yakked for a good hour after we ate, so I was able to let things settle before walking out into the heat. Reminder to self: eating too much does result in disastrous results. :D

Oh well, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend - enjoy one of the last several weekends without our babies here! EVERY Saturday between now and the baby is covered over with plans except this one, so I'm hoping to enjoy it as much as I can!

Just because I can - here's my 31 week shot!

Another question about BRU registry:

How quickly does it update? Instantaneously or does it update overnight? I am wondering because I just went online to change the color of PNP sheets because I had to choose a different PNP pattern and I noticed a couple of big items were purchased. Yesterday when we were having our BRU conversation in here, I went online and those things were not purchased. I called my mom this morning and she and my dad were out shopping. If they bought us those things, I am going to be so mad. I told them to stop buying us things!!! Anyway, just curious. I guess you can't hold back soon-to-be grandparents.

babylove and isaacsmommy What cute babies you have there! :)

mrstim Thanks for the registry info. Great timing for us.

jesseybell An early shower gift! How fun!

I did a load of baby laundry yesterday. I washed all of her 0-3 month unisex onsies, sleepers, bibs and hats. For some reason I am really reluctant to wash the girly clothes. I am afraid that I will take the tags off and wash all of these brand new clothes and then Emily will end up being a boy! I don't know why I am thinking this. The ultrasound really looked like a little girl. My mom thinks I am crazy.

Anyhow, DH finished painting the dresser. I bought self paper to line the drawers with, and I bought some cute knobs and handles for it on ebay. I put the little clothes that I washed in there. So cute! I was hoping DH could get the nursery painted today, but it doesn't look like it is going to happen. Oh well, maybe next weekend!

K&H's mommy - So sorry about the house situation. That truly sucks. It is nice they took some $$ off, it's the least they can do. When we did some remodeling and also when we did our huge landscaping project, I added 3 months on to when they said it would be done just to keep myself sane. They both still took even longer...

Abby's mom - Crossing my fingers that baby stays put!

mrstim - Thanks for the registry info - great timing! I saw your announcements and new shoes in your LJ - very cute! Hope stuff starts getting bought off your registry.

jesseybell - How fun to come home to a present. Always exciting!

camdynlyn - cute belly! right there w/ya on no sleep - I'm getting maybe 4 hrs a night in between bathroom breaks. So over it!

babylove - such a cute baby! it makes it all so real, doesn't it?

sabriel - good for you for getting nursery stuff done - i am still soooooo behind it's not even funny. and you're not crazy for thinking emily might turn out to be a boy...i felt the same way up until the 3d ultrasound where it was very clear she was a girl.

Well, I hope everyone has had a great weekend. Anyone do anything special for Father's Day? We didn't do much today but had a pretty eventful Friday night. We went to the Key Art Awards (basically DH's industry's version of the oscars) which honors the best movie posters and trailers and he won for the Lord of War poster and also won some awards for Saw 2. It was awesome. I wrote more about it in my blog in case anyone is interested. http://hedlab.typepad.com/the_baby_dillon_project_e/

Oh yah, I went to dinner for my friend's birthday at this restaurant in Hollywood on Sat. nite...we sat across from Nicki Hilton and her boyfriend who's on Entourage on HBO....wow - she was looking a little funky (i'm being nice!)... and her boyfriend looks like he's 12 years only..no joke.

jesseybell You look great! I love the nursery. It is adorable! I can't believe how much you have done!

amyinlosangeles Yay for your DH winning those awards! That is awesome.

(I am going to vent, so feel free to skip this!) I had the worst day today. Well, it actually started Saturday night I opened the mail, and we got a letter from DH's car insurance saying that they are going to cancel his insurance because we haven't payed. WTF?! I pay it myself every month! Of course, we cannot talk to anyone about it until tomorrow. I am sure it is a mistake, but it is very upsetting. Then this morning I was doing laundry and accidentally washed DH's cell phone and a check that someone had given him. Grr. Then while I was drying the first load of laundry our dryer broke! I had wet clothes in the washer and in the dryer and a whole bunch of clothes that still needed washed. So, I headed to my mom's house to do the laundry there. On the way there, I was in an accident! Baby and I are fine. The guy that hit me wasn't going very fast at all, but now our car definitely needs repaired. Luckily, it is still drivable. I just don't need all of this stress right now. Now we need to have the dryer fixed (or more likey get a new one, this one is 17 years old), get our car fixed, buy more ceramic tile for the flooring DH has already started putting in, pay the midwife our portion of the prenatal care/delivery and get DH a new cell phone all at once! I am trying to stay calm, but 1) it is just upsetting that all of this stuff happened and 2) I am freaking out a little about having to pay for all of this in the next couple of weeks. :( (Okay, vent over!)

Jessie: The color in the nursery is gorgeous!

Sabriel: I'm so sorry you are having a day! I know it's horrible but it can't get much worse, right? I've had a week like that before where it feels 3890 things need paying and we are stretched for money, job is in limbo and such and such needs repairing. It sucks but I'm glad you and Baby Emily are okay!

Me, on the other hand, I'm having HORRIBLE pain. I had a couple BHs this morning which caused me to get sick. My mid back is hurting constantly and nothing seems to help. I took 1/2 a Tylenol PM last night to help me sleep and will probably take the rest tonight.

I'm not sure if Bean is turned a weird way or what but she needs to move. Is it possible for her to drop this early???? She's lower, for sure, and I feel like I need to hold my belly up constantly. I'm going to wear my bellaband tomorrow hoping to help it some. Any suggestions?

It may be the position she is in. My little guy is face up, so all his weight is lying back against my back. I am having a lot of lower back pain. In fact, that is why I am up right now. I can't find a good position lying down and can't sleep. When you go in to see the dr. next, ask him how the baby is positioned and tell him what you have been experiencing. Maybe he can shed some light. Hope you feel better.

I'm totally dreading today. I have to let our cleaning lady go who's been with us for 7 years. I adore her and I'm so sad and don't even know how to tell her. We decided that since we'll probably need help when I'm working and we financially support my mom we're going to have her be our nanny and she'll also keep our place nice and clean. This is going to be a tough day. : (

Count me in as another miserable one - but mine was due to leg cramps! :( My legs swelled up yesterday - my feet were swollen a little, but my knees to my ankles were almost double their size! :( My last cramp was right at around 7, so I went ahead and got up for the day. Ugh. My calves are SO sore today!

I'm also having weird cramps - last night I had what I best describe as a menstrual cramp really low in my belly - it lasted about 30 seconds, then went away. I had another one about 11 last night, and then so far only 1 today. Could this be actual contractions??? I'm a tad worried. If it keeps going on I'll call my OB, I do have an appt Friday, so I'll definitely bring this up, for sure. I read where contrax actually should stretch around to the lower back, but my back is constantly sore, so I can't use that as a guide.

My tummy has been SO messed up the last few days, too - ugh. Last night I ate nothing for supper but a KK doughnut - simply because the sight of food made me sick.

Oh well - not much longer, right? It'll all be over for ALL of us faster than we can blink.

Oh, and someone IS buying off my registry. I'm pretty positive my "surprise" shower is this coming Sunday - we'll see if I'm right or not. Anyway, someone bought some stuff, but I think it was my mom. I told her that I'd peeked at my registry, and she grinned and said she knew I would. Plus, I know she's doing me a gift "basket" with things she's collected throughout the pregnancy, and the things that were bought were smaller stuff - like pacifiers, shampoo, powder, that sorta thing. Hey - I'm just so happy to get anything, I don't care.

I don't remmeber if I mentioned it or not, but I did go out Saturday and bought all the stuff I needed for my hospital bag AND for Lil'man's first diaper bag (the one that goes to the hospital) so I'm planning on packing it this week. More off the list! ;)

Hope everyones doing great - I need a water/pee break about now!

First of all, I can't believe I only have 6 weeks to go! OMG, I'm getting so close :).

Secondly, my shower was this past Saturday. We had so much fun and got so much stuff (and money). But, amazingly enough…we got no bottles. Weird, huh? I’m sure someone took pictures. I hope so, because I totally forgot.

The shower was supposed to be from 2 – 5 p.m. But, of course it lasted all night, just like every other party my parents have in their backyard. DH and I left at 10:30 p.m. because I was pooped. There were still about 10 – 15 people still there! When we got home, we unpacked all the loot from the car, and looked everything over. Then, I had another piece of our marvelous shower cake and we went to bed.

Then Sunday, I was on a “getting ready for baby” kick. My mom, sister and I took DH and my dad out to bunch for Father’s Day (which was very nice BTW). Then, since we just happened to be by the new IKEA, we decided to stop there on our way home. That place is freaking nuts! It’s so huge, and was so busy. I’m surprised that I even made it through the whole experience without yelling at someone. As crazy as the store was, we did manage to find some furniture pieces for Dylan’s room (4 pieces for only $180  ). IKEA was actually the perfect place for us to go, since we were looking for simple pieces with straight lines. After IKEA, we went to Michaels to look for the wall letters. We scored some nice ones for only 2.99/each. Then, we stopped at Target to get some bottles, since no one got any for us. We also picked a few other items we needed. After that, it was a trip to Meijer for some long overdue grocery shopping. Needless to say, I was extremely tired by the time we got home.

There are still a few things we need to get to finish everything off, but I feel so much better about where we are. For a while, I was freaking out about how little we had done.

We still need to get:
Glider & ottoman - I’ll be ordering on Friday.
Crib bedding - I know, I’m so behind on this, but we registered for some of it, and no one bought it for us. We’ll get this before the week is up.
Baskets for organization
Various other decorative items

I’m hoping we can get most of this accomplished this week/weekend. Once we have the room together, I’ll be sure to take pics.

Sabriel: So sorry for your bad weekend. Hopefully the insurance things gets straighten out. Glad that you and the baby are ok.

How is everyone sleeping? I have so many leg cramps on my calves. My hands also swell up. I can't seem to get comfortable even with my pregnancy pillow. It takes me about 2-hours to go to bed at night because I can't get comfortable. The heat has my feet very swollen. Only shoes that fit are my flip flops.

Nursery Update: DH finished painting the nursery this weekend. I bought the curtains and the rug at PBK this weekend. Hopefully he assembles the crib and changing table this weekend. So many details that go into the nursery, that I did not think about. Like the curtain rods. I totally forgot about them and when we got home with the new curtains, I couldn't put them up.

sabriel - I'm glad to hear everything is okay after the accident!

Sleeping - I've never had much of a problem getting up in the middle of the night. I might go to the bathroom once or twice at the very most. However, sometimes I am finding it hard to fall asleep in the evening. DH and DS are snoozing away and I find myself reading, watching tv, on the computer, doing laundry because I'm not yet tired. Not a good sign as I need all the sleep I can get.

Everyone has so much going on; it's hard to keep up with individual news:)

Not much going on here. I'm making the transition to my new OB in the next two weeks as my previous one is ceasing the OB portion of his OB/GYN practice. I'm being told that I will probably go early with this baby as I did with DS (2 weeks early), glucose was fine, and low iron so I need to take Ferrosequels. My SIL's mother told me I was "huge" yesterday:mad: Thank goodness she is a tough old broad who I could answer back in a joking way, "Just the kind of thing a woman always wants to hear!"

Since I'm a RO, we basically have everything we need for this baby; however, my parents want to get us some stuff, so I'm taking them up on their offer for another stroller. Have we discussed strollers here?

What stroller did everyone register for/have? - I have a Peg Perego Pliko, but I think I'm going to get a MacLaren as well.

QUESTION...When are you ladies getting your nursing bras (for those of you breastfeeding)?

LTJC
06-19-2006, 01:28 PM
I ended up bottle feeding, but beforehand, I did purchase some nursing bras from Target. I think I waited until I was around 36 weeks and made sure to go up a size. Although I ended up using only one bra, the extra size definitely gave me some much need breathing room, ESPECIALLY on the day my milk came in - yikes!!
