Bolton Hints at Sheridan Marriage

Singer Michael Bolton has fueled rumors of an impending engagement to Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan, by confessing he is "very committed" to the blonde actress. The couple reunited in the wake of Sheridan's split from fiance Niklas Soderblom last year. They had previously dated 14 years ago. And Bolton insists this time things will be very different, after taking time out from his busy touring schedule to "work on my private life." I think she's v.down to earth. Grocery shops for herself at the local Ingles, lives in a fairly normal house (for Biltmore Forest, that is, which is a v.money area), is apparently v.good to her household help - Oprah did a segment where she awarded her housekeeper with a complete makeover a while back, does charity for the hospital, etc . . .

But good grief, I bought my car from that place and . . .ugh . . . we don't have to be THAT down to earth! Maybe that whole Britney Spears "downgrade" marriage thing is catching on . . .horrors!

Friends’ Returns to TV
HOLLYWOOD - Seminal sitcom Friends is returning to television after each of its six stars agreed multi-million dollar deals to star in four one-hour specials.
In a secret meeting before Christmas, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry reportedly agreed a $5 million apiece deal with NBC bosses in Los Angeles.

Scriptwriters have already started penning lines for the four double episodes, which are due to air next year.

Aniston, who has filmed a string of movies since the final Friends episode, was the last to agree to the new deal.

An NBC insider says, "She's the one who had been holding out. But she's now agreed to reprise Rachel (Green).

"Bringing them back is a dream come true. Ratings will go through the roof."

Network bosses have also hinted at a second spin-off of the hit comedy, following the disappointing performance of Matt LeBlanc's show Joey. The new program will see the three male stars--Perry, Schwimmer and LeBlanc--pilot a series called It's A Guy Thing.

An NBC spokesperson confirms, "Negotiations on future projects are going on all the time."

Nicole to head down the aisle

Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman is set to tie the knot with rock star Keith Urban.

The 37-year-old Australian is said to have set a date with the Kiwi singer and the couple certainly aren't waiting around, they are planning to get wed in March.

Nic has been spotted sporting a huge diamond ring which Keith apparently presented to her on Christmas Day.

Friends say Nicole is the happiest she has ever been and has met Keith's parents and introduced her adopted children to the whole family.

However much the superstar Nicole is, she is adamant to steer clear of a media frenzy on her big day and is keeping the ceremony low key with only close family and friends invited - they may even tie the knot in Nicole's homeland of Australia.

Keith was introduced to the Moulin Rouge star in January last year and the couple dated in secret for many months with Nicole's ex Tom Cruise stealing most of the spotlight due to his whirlwind romance with Dawson's Creek actress Katie Holmes.

Reports say Nicole was desperate to beat Tom down the aisle but friends say that is nonsense and that Nicole is in love and looking forward to making it permanent with Keith.

Tom was expected to rush down the aisle with Katie after the announcement of her pregnancy, but he now denies this and says they will wait until their child has been born.

Keith Urban is a huge name in both the US and Australia and unlike his fiancee, has not been married before.

I was talking to another girl about the Friends come back at lunch. How the heck they would do an all guy's show? They left it with Ross and Rachel getting together and Monica and Chandelor with babies.

I just don't get how they would do this and keep continuity. I wonder if the four episodes are going to link what happened in Friends along with Joey to the new show. I mean do Rachel and Monica turn into lesbians and leave the guys or do they die in some freak accident? I just don't get how they'll do this.

Are everyone's favorite "Friends" ready to return to TV?

Rumors were swirling over the weekend about a "Friends" revival on NBC.

According to published reports, each of the show's six stars had agreed to a multimillion-dollar deal to star in four one-hour episodes.

Some articles even went as far as to say that scripts were already being written.


However, "Access Hollywood" has learned that those reports are completely false.

"Not one ounce of truth," Jeff Zucker, CEO of NBC Universal Television Group, told "Access" of the rumors.

There were also rumblings of an all-male spin-off show starring David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc. But yet again, nothing more than false reports.

"Friends" ended its 10-year run back in May 2004. More than 52 million fans tuned in to the series finale.

I watched the show if there wasn't anything else to watch. However it ticked me off that some people lived viacraiously though those characters (namely the female audience) and set standards and "trends" based on that show. It was kind of pathetic...

MAN!!! I am bummed....i loved friends....i know of many shows where tends are taken from...ever heard of SATC...i dont think i revolved my life around Friends...but i did love the show and would have loved to see a reunion. ;)

I agree, I adored Friends. "Pathetic" as it may be, TV shows and the like are the start of many trends for as long as TV has been around! I don't feel as if I ever lived vicariously through through any characters, but I sure do miss that show (as I have a hard time finding things I actually like on TV anymore). I would have liked a reunion for the simple fact that I think we were gypped out of a Ross/Rachel wedding! Ah,well. It was fun while it lasted!

TMZ has learned, the driver who escorted Jennifer Aniston and Joan Cusack around Sundance has been talking, and his stories are, to say the least, revealing.

Aniston and Cusack, along with Catherine Keener, were at Sundance for the premiere of their new film, 'Friends With Money."

Here's what the driver is saying:

- Aniston was so wound up over paparazzi following her, she told the driver: "You need to take me where nobody is." He accommodated her by driving for 25 minutes, ending up in a church parking lot. Aniston got out of the car and immediately began chain smoking cigarettes. The driver says this happened several times during her stay.

- Cusack was "sick" of all the hoopla surrounding Aniston's personal life. Cusack told the driver that even though she's a celebrity she's a private person and able to live a "nice normal life." The driver says Cusack put it this way: "It's a choice an actor makes." The comment wasn't specifically directed at Aniston, but the implication is certainly there.

The driver also talked about other celebs at Sundance. He says two "well-known actors" (he did not specify whom) tipped another driver with the joint they had been smoking in the car.

And, the driver says, as a pregnant Katie Holmes was busy with the debut of her movie 'Thank You For Smoking,' Tom Cruise was having a blast on the snow-covered mountains.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The cause of actor Chris Penn's death remained undetermined after an autopsy, and the coroner's office has ordered blood toxicology tests.

Penn, the brother of Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn and musician Michael, was found dead Tuesday in his Santa Monica condominium.

The toxicology test is "just normal procedure for someone who's 40 and has not seen their doctor," coroner's spokeswoman Brenda Shafer said Wednesday.

Penn's latest film, "The Darwin Awards," in which he appears with Winona Ryder and Joseph Fiennes, premiered later in the day at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

"He gave an incredible performance in the film," writer-director Finn Taylor said before the screening. "I think he is going to be remembered for years to come and we will miss him."

Chris Penn appeared in numerous films, including "Reservoir Dogs," "Starsky & Hutch," "Rush Hour" and "Corky Romano."

"Corky" star Chris Kattan described Penn's death as "a huge shock."

"He was an amazing actor and a great comedian," Kattan said. "He was such a sweet soul and so funny. He had a really great innocence in his eyes. Of course he'll be terribly missed."

Sean Penn's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, issued a statement Tuesday saying the Penn family "would appreciate the media's respect of their privacy during this difficult time." She released no further comment.

Penn's agent, Cary Berman of the William Morris Agency, referred calls to Buxbaum. Penn's manager, Jonathan Brandstein, did not return a call for comment.

Although he was not as well known as his brother Sean, 45, critics said he often was underrated.

"Just as talented as Sean -- just a lot less cocky," Slate magazine critic Cintra Wilson wrote of him last year. He "makes you seamlessly believe in characters so much you barely even notice them."

NEW YORK (AP) -- Brooke Shields, who is pregnant with her second child, says of her baby due in May: "It's a girl!"

"I wasn't sure I was going to make this public," Shields told People magazine in a report Tuesday. "I'm thrilled for my daughter to have a little friend. Two Tauruses, it's a huge trick being played on me."

Shields' daughter, Rowan, who is 2, was born in May.

The 40-year-old actress has been married to TV writer-producer Chris Henchy since 2001.

Shields chronicled her post-pregnancy experiences in a memoir, "Down Came the Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression." Her outspoken support of antidepressants prompted the criticism of Tom Cruise, a Scientologist who opposes psychiatry and prescription medication to battle depression.

The actress, who began modeling as a toddler, has appeared in films including "Pretty Baby," "The Blue Lagoon" and "Endless Love." Her TV sitcom, "Suddenly Susan," ran from 1996-2000.

Megan Mullally will draw on the talk show hosts she watched as a youngster when the "Will & Grace" star launches her own contender in the fall.

"I want it to be a 'best of talk shows' talk show," she said. "I've always been a big fan of talk shows, ever since I was a kid -- (Johnny) Carson, Merv (Griffin) and Mike (Douglas). I think it's cool to pull elements from all the best shows."

"The Megan Mullally Show" will include comedic and musical elements, skits, field segments and a band, Mullally said. But one thing it won't have in common with many talk shows of its ilk is that she won't be seated behind a desk. Although the actual set is still being worked out, Mullally said she's aiming for something that's "fresh and different."

Mullally -- who has been at the NATPE TV sales convention this week in Las Vegas helping to promote the show -- also wants to feature a mix of celebrity guests and "real people" in the hour-long daytime show, saying she doesn't "want to discriminate between" the two groups.

"I genuinely care about people and life in general," she said. "I want to touch on a lot of different areas of life in a fun way. Sometimes it will be full-on, knock-down, drag-out comedy. . . . No matter what's going on, it's not going to be so crazily scripted -- it's just going to have an element of real spontaneity."

Although she'll be switching from a role she's playing in a sitcom to a role in which she's essentially playing herself, Mullally said she isn't nervous about taking on the new challenge. She'll be drawing on her own experiences as a guest on various talk shows as well as her own guest-hosting duties on shows like CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman."

"I'm really excited because I have so many great ideas, and it's going to be really fun to do," she said. "The talk show is different (from 'Will & Grace') because I'm so completely at the center of it; I'm actively involved in it. It just engages your creativity."

Executive producer Corin Nelson, former showrunner on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," said the show will rely heavily on Mullally's "quick wit and ability to react in the moment." She also said that "Megan Mullally" will be all about making both viewers and guests feel comfortable.

"We want to create an environment where celebrities feel completely at home . . . and where viewers feel like they're hanging out with a friend in the middle of the day," she said.

Mostly, Mullally wants the show to be "participatory" for the audience and ultimately just wants them to have fun. And stations are biting. Distributor NBC Universal Domestic TV said Wednesday that it has cleared the show on stations covering more than 70% of U.S. households.

Two Melrose Place alums are experiencing some modern day drama of their own.
Josie Bissett and Rob Estes have announced plans to divorce, ending their marriage of more than 13 years.

Estes, 42, said that he moved out of the couple's Seattle home, where they have lived since the late '90s, nearly seven months ago at her behest.

The actor also said that it was his wife, 35, who requested the divorce and that he didn't want it. The divorce is not yet final. Estes made his remarks during an appearance at the Television Critics Association meeting earlier this week.

There was no immediate comment from Bissett's rep.

Bissett and Estes met in 1991 during a casting call for a TV movie and married May 1, 1992. The same year, Bissett joined the original cast of Melrose Place, a spinoff of Beverly Hills, 90210 featuring the trials and tribulations of bed-hopping twentysomethings in a Hollywood apartment complex. Bissett starred as Jane Andrews Mancini, long suffering wife to Dr. Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro).

In 1996, Estes also joined the ensemble; when Bissett became pregnant later that year, she temporarily left the show. She returned in 1998 after suffering a miscarriage and remained with Melrose Place through its series finale in 1999.

Estes and Bissett welcomed their first child, son Mason True, on July 21, 1999. Their second child, daughter Maya Rose, was born Apr. 14, 2002.

After Fox shuttered Melrose Place, Bissett and Estes kept a relatively low profile, relocating to Bissett's hometown of Seattle. But they recently costarred in the ABC Family original movie I Do, They Don't, which aired on the family-friendly cable net last March.

'IDOL' AIKEN IN GAY SEX CLAIM

"CLAYMANIACS" are out for blood now that a former Green Beret has gone public with his claim that he had a gay sex romp with "American Idol" superstar Clay Aiken.

Alleged Aiken love toy John Paulus has been deluged with death threats from the singer's fervent fans ever since his name was leaked onto the Internet as the man who was blabbing to the National Enquirer that he had sex with their beloved "Idol," who's repeatedly denied being gay. The story is in the Enquirer issue out today nationwide.

"He is getting death threats from Clay's fans," a friend of Paulus tells PAGE SIX. "After his name was leaked on a couple of gossip Web sites, he's been getting threats. But he's also gotten calls from gay porn directors who want to cast him in a movie, kind of what happened after John Wayne Bobbitt got famous."

Paulus, 38, passed a polygraph test administered by the Enquirer in an attempt to corroborate his bombshell claim that he had sex with Aiken at a Quality Inn in Garner, N.C., on Jan. 2. In the new Enquirer, Paulus claims he and Aiken had 90 minutes of man-on-man passion at the hotel, which is near Aiken's hometown of Raleigh, N.C.

The muscle-bound ex-soldier says Aiken contacted him after seeing his picture on the Internet : "I have several personal ads on gay men Web sites," he told the Enquirer. "Clay later told me he saw my pictures on a couple and decided to e-mail me. On Dec. 16, using the screen name of 'valleyprettyboy,' Clay sent me his first message.

"He wrote, 'Hey man, [I] see you're online. I'm 26 years old from Raleigh and would love to talk. I have pics but I have a very recognizable face and I can't post the pics. I would be happy to send them to you if you can promise absolute discretion."

Paulus added that in later e-mails, Aiken "told me that he had just come out of the closet to his mother and a few close friends last year. He told me that he was single again, having broken up with his boyfriend about five months ago."

Aiken has always maintained that he is straight, but in 2003 he told Diane Sawyer on ABC's "Primetime Live," "I have some very effeminate qualities." His spokesman, Roger Widynowkski, declined to comment on the Enquirer story yesterday.

Lindsay Lohan Goes to Hospital Again

Teen star Lindsay Lohan, 19, was admitted to a London hospital Friday afternoon and received ten stitches in her shin, after she slipped on a set of stairs at singer/photographer Bryan Adams' $5 million mansion, Lindsay's mom Dina exclusively tells Star, the first media outlet in the world to report the mishap. Lindsay was released later that day.

"She and her friends were preparing breakfast, with eggs and everything, and Lindsay was going up the stairs, carrying a ceramic teacup," Dina explains to Star.

"She had just come out of the shower so she was still wet and had some lotion on, and she completely flipped on the stairs since it was slippery. The teacup went flying, it was shattered, and one of the pieces cut Lindsay in her shin. It was an accident."

After Lindsay bandaged up the cut, she called Dina — while en route to the city in a London taxi cab with two of her friends and a personal assistant — to do some shopping.

"She called me from the cab, I was in New York at the time, and she told me what happened. I panicked because I'm a mother, but she said 'Mommy, I'm fine.' She said it was bleeding through the bandage a bit, so she asked, 'Mommy, should I go to the hospital?' I told her to go."

Dina tells Star, "She's totally fine." She adds, laughing, "She's doing jumping jacks now!"

Adams, a Lohan family friend, was out of town at the time, Dina tells Star, but he let Lindsay and her entourage stay there while they were in London. The pair met about 18 months ago when Adams photographed Lindsay, as well as several other stars, for pictures that later appeared in the 2005 book American Women.

Tom Cruise may have survived a Martian attack in last year's remake of "War of the Worlds," but he has failed to elude Hollywood's movie police.

The actor was among the contenders announced on Monday for the annual Razzie Awards, which "honor" the worst achievements in film.

Cruise will compete for the year's worst actor award with
Will Ferrell ("Bewitched," "Kicking & Screaming"),
Jamie Kennedy ("Son of the Mask"), Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson ("Doom") and
Rob Schneider ("Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo").

The nominees were announced by The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, a tongue-in-cheek organization that claims more than 700 voting members.

Foundation head John Wilson said in an interview he did not think Cruise's portrayal of a working-class man in "War of the Worlds" was particularly credible.

While there were arguably worse performances, Cruise's off-screen antics, either in support of Scientology, or in the throes of passion with new girlfriend

Daughter Grace is 9 months, and according to Jessica, Elisabeth had commented a while back that she would like to conceive again when Grace was around 6 months, so that her children would be close in age - making her about 3 months along now. Laura says that next Thursday would be a prime time to announce the pregnancy, as the View is hitting it's 2000th show milestone.

Jessica and Laura each commented that Elisabeth seems to be hiding a small bump by wearing loose, flowing tops as of late - and her comment on Friday that jeans are now so stretchy that "they can be worn at any time" may be telling. However, CBB reader Sonja says no way, emailing that Elisabeth has mentioned on the show a few times in the last month or so that she is trying to stay away from her husband Tim to avoid getting pregnant again! She joked that she brushes her teeth for a very long time in hopes that he will be asleep by the time she gets to bed!

A judge has issued an arrest warrant for American Pie star Natasha Lyonne after she failed to appear in court on Friday. The troubled 26-year-old actress is facing a number of charges, including criminal mischief, harassment and trespassing. "'Full House' Sweetheart Talks About Meth Addiction"


Feb. 1, 2006 — As Stephanie Tanner on the 1990s hit sitcom "Full House," child actress Jodie Sweetin portrayed a young, innocent girl who lived in a happy, healthy supportive home.

"Growing up when I was on the series, I never really watched, even from this day, it's surreal to watch myself on television," said Sweetin. "Growing up in the business you have to grow up very fast — you do have a different type of childhood, that has its benefits and it has its drawbacks."

When the show ended in 1995, she said she wanted to be a normal kid. She went to high school and college and by age 20 was married to a Los Angeles police officer — TV older sister Candice Cameron was in the wedding party.

But two years ago, she found herself dangerously addicted to one of the most debilitating drugs, methamphetamine. She said she was unemployed and bored and began simply by experimenting. Soon, she was using meth everyday.

The tabloid press reported a three-day bender as well as an intervention staged by her "Full House" castmates — including the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, John Stamos and Bob Saget.

Sweetin, 24, never went as far as to blame her life as a child star for her addiction, but said that it was difficult to discover who she truly was after the show ended.

"There is a certain sense of loss when a series ends," she said. "It is kind of hard to figure out who you are when you've lost your job at age 13, when that was basically how you identified yourself."

Sweetin said she checked herself in to the Promises drug rehab facility where she went underwent six weeks of intense treatment. She realized that she "was living a total double life," she said. "I was married to a police officer — we are going through a divorce right now — he had no idea."

Sweetin has been clean and sober since March of last year and now wants to get back into acting.

"I want to make movies, TV series, wherever the career takes me," she said. "I really hope this isn't the last people hear of me. In fact, I would like to make this a footnote in my career, not the end."Source: ABC News

According to a someone who claims to know the Hiro bartender who stole the pages, Lindsay was quite prolific. I'm the same age as Mandy Moore (well, 2 months older actually :p) and I would date a 30 year old. My husband is 28, and I once dated a guy older than that. Guys at the age have about the same maturity level as a 21 year old woman, so it's a good match.

After 11 years of marriage, actress Heather Locklear has filed for divorce from rocker Richie Sambora, her publicist said Thursday.

“This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time,” CeCe Yorke said in a statement.

Locklear, 44, first gained fame in 1981 as sexy Sammy Jo Dean Carrington on the TV series “Dynasty.”

In the 1990s, she took on the role of cold-hearted Amanda Woodward on TV’s “Melrose Place” and played mayoral love interest Caitlin Moore on “Spin City.”

Sambora, 45, is a founding member and lead guitarist for the rock band Bon Jovi. He has also released two solo albums.

It was returned to her, but several pages were missing from it. Her rep told Widdicombe, "We appreciate the diary being returned, but unfortunately we are saddened by the fact that pages were stolen." Lohan’s people then threatened many major gossip outlets - including the Smoking Gun - with copyright infringement and violation of privacy should the diary’s contents be published.

The threat wasn’t enough to stop one fearless blogger, Velvet Rope Whore, from going ahead and releasing details about the missing entries, however. According to VRW, a friend of hers who works at Hiro was the culprit who snatched the pages and sent them to Widdicombe. The Hiro employee read her the entry, which she summarized.

NEW YORK - A star-studded music video shoot was interrupted by gunfire that killed a bodyguard for rapper Busta Rhymes, police said.

Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes and G-Unit members including Lloyd Banks were scheduled to be filming on a ninth-floor soundstage when violence erupted outside the Brooklyn building early Sunday, said police Sgt. Kevin Farrell.

Israel Ramirez, 29, was killed with a single shot to the chest, Farrell said.

Some 500 people were gathered for the Busta Rhymes video, and it was unclear how many had been outside when shots were fired.

Investigators took possession of a nearby parked car that was hit by the gunfire. They were still trying to determine early Monday what led to the violence, Farrell said.

This is so sad because I was listening to him just last week on an Los Angeles radio station talk about how much AGAINST violence he is and how happy and proud he is of making this video because of how torn apart the hip hop industry is and how he wanted to bring everyone together for an allstar video. Busta Rhymes is one of the more positive, respectful rapper in the game and it is sad that something like this has to happen to someone in his camp.

Photographer Fracas at Penn Funeral

Sean Penn and his All The King's Men co-star Mark Ruffalo were reportedly involved in a fracas with a photographer at the funeral of the Oscar-winner's brother Chris Penn on Saturday. Sean, 45, and Ruffalo, 38, were amongst family and friends paying tribute to the 40-year-old Reservoir Dogs star, who was found dead in his Santa Monica, California, apartment on January 24, at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California. The New York Daily News reported Sean was furious to see a paparazzo interrupting his family's grieving and his anger propelled Ruffalo to snatch the memory card from the snapper's digital camera. News site Tmz.com reports an unnamed photographer lodged a criminal complaint against Ruffalo at Culver City Police Department on Saturday afternoon. A spokeswoman for Sean said she wasn't aware of any altercation, saying, "The Penn family, with the loving support of family and longtime friends, buried their youngest son and brother, Chris, today at a private service. I have no knowledge of an incident and have no intention of disturbing the family at this time." During the funeral, Sean read a eulogy to his late brother, saying, "I had a little brother. And for any brother who goes over to the other side with our father, into the cosmos, I will follow if they let me." Troubled actress Natasha Lyonne's father has rubbished reports his daughter is "homeless" - insisting she is wealthy and living very comfortably. Aaron Braunstein has spoken out on behalf of the troubled American Pie star, who is currently facing a string of police charges, including criminal mischief, harassment and trespassing. He tells the New York Post, "Everyone keeps saying 'Poor Natasha, she's homeless,' but she's very wealthy. Kate Moss Friday failed in her courtroom bid to prevent footage of her snorting cocaine last year being used in her upcoming libel case. British TV network Five broadcast claims the supermodel took so much cocaine at a 2001 charity fashion show in Barcelona, Spain, she fell unconscious. The show The Truth About Kate Moss which was broadcast on January 27, 2005. Mr Justice Eady today told Five's legal representatives they would be able to use photographs published by British tabloid the Daily Mirror in September, which explicitly show Moss snorting lines of cocaine. On September 22, Moss issued a public apology and later underwent intensive treatment at an Arizona rehab clinic in a bid to overcome her "personal issues." Five's legal counsel Matthew Nicklin told the court, "The present application arises because the claimant (Moss) wishes to prevent the defendant, as part of its defense of any defamatory sting conveyed by the program, from proving the full truth of her cocaine abuse." Moss' lawyer David Sherborne told the court that the allegation that she had taken a "vast" quantity of cocaine and had to be revived from a coma was "wholly untrue and seriously defamatory." LOS ANGELES - Guitarist Rafael Moreira, who has worked with Pink, Christina Aguilera and others, has been arrested for allegedly beating a man at the music school where he teaches, police said.

Moreira was booked Monday for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon following an altercation at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, police Lt. Russ Wong said.

Wong said he didn't have details of the events that led to Moreira's arrest or the object used in the attack, but a witness said he saw the victim bleeding from the face.

"I just heard a commotion and came outside to see what was going on," said Kevin Campos, a student at the institute.

"I saw a guy with a bloody face. He went into the library to wipe his face, then he came back out and confronted Rafael. That's when I went to get security," Campos said.

A telephone message left after business hours with the school, and an e-mail sent to an address listed on Moreira's Web site, were not immediately returned late Monday.

Moreira, who graduated from the institute in 1998, is listed on its Web site as one of its "success stories." His profile notes he has toured with Pink as well as performed with Aguilera, Marc Anthony, Sisqo and Mya.

Moreira, who was born in the southern Brazil town of Cambara, also fronts his own rock band, Magnetico, and appeared on the CBS reality show "Rock Star: INXS."

Looks like Paris Hilton will have to start showing some restraint.

A Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner issued a restraining order against the hotel heiress Tuesday, commanding her to stay away from party planner Brian Quintana.

Hilton was not present for the hearing on the matter, at which Quintana testified that the Simple Life star had shoved him on three occasions, disturbed his relationship with clients and threatened his life.

The promoter, who counts Hilton beau Stavros Niarchos among his friends, has claimed that Hilton accused him of encouraging Niarchos to dump her and get back together with ex-girlfriend Mary-Kate Olsen.

In court documents, Quintana alleged that Hilton "has a drug and alcohol problem, some rather shady associates, and is known for erratic behavior." He claimed he felt he was in "imminent danger" from the celebutante's wrath.

Last month, Hilton's rep, Elliot Mintz, denied the validity of Quintana's accusations.

"I can assure you that when all of the facts are revealed in this matter, they will show that the victim is, in fact, Paris Hilton," he told the Associated Press.

As it turns out, the legal system took a different view on the situation, siding with Quintana against his nemesis.

Quintana's attorney, Richard Sherman, told reporters that the details of the restraining order were still being finalized.

Also Tuesday, in another case involving Hilton, accused extortionist Darnell Riley pleaded guilty to robbing and attempting to blackmail Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis, who was once romantically linked to the saucy socialite.

In December, Francis testified that Hilton told him that she, too, was being blackmailed by Riley for $20,000 a month. He said that she was concerned about a videotape Riley claimed to have acquired following a break-in at Hilton's home.

Hilton was subpoenaed in the case in November, but contradicted Francis' testimony, telling police that she was never his girlfriend and had never been the victim of extortion.

Even without Hilton's support, Francis won his case against the man whom he accused of committing "absolutely horrible" crimes against him.

After Riley entered his guilty plea, he was sentenced to 10 years and eight months in prison.

Still ahead on Hilton's court docket is the $10 million slander suit filed against her by diamond heiress Zeta Graff, who alleges Hilton planted "vicious lies" about her in the press.

In a November deposition, Hilton admitted to fabricating details about Graff, but denied that she was responsible for those items ending up in print.

Meanwhile, Hilton may be considering shelling out a sizable chunk of cash to reacquire a slew of her possessions, including journals, photos and videotapes, which fell into the hands of Phoenix-based porn broker David Hans Schmidt after the bill on her Los Angeles storage unit went unpaid.

Schmidt has said he plans to auction off the items for $20 million, but would consider offering Hilton a "small discount" if she felt inclined to bid on her belongings.

Hilton's rep said last week that she hadn't ruled out buying back the items, but that the $20 million pricetag was "irrational."

Witherspoon Paparazzo Mystery Continues

The body of a paparazzo charged with battery over his aggressive efforts to photograph Reese Witherspoon and her children might not be positively identified until Friday. The Los Angeles County coroner's office is examining a body found inside a Brentwood, California home on Sunday, believed to be photographer Todd Wallace. Authorities have been searching for the photographer for nearly two months after he skipped bail upon being charged in the Witherspoon incident. The photographer is known for using multiple aliases and traveling extensively, and officials feared he may have fled the US to Central America. Patrick Ahle, a prosecutor handling the Witherspoon case, said, given Wallace's past history of aliases, he would wait until the photographer's death is confirmed before assuming the deceased man is him. Actress Denise Richards reportedly rushed to a medical clinic for testing after finding out husband Charlie Sheen cheated on her during their marriage.

A representative for the actress has confirmed to Us Weekly magazine that the actress was tested for sexually transmitted diseases at a Thousand Oaks, Calif., clinic on January 27.

Richards was tested for HIV, and a string of other blood tests were conducted to detect "every disease known to man," according to a source.

The 35-year-old actress had been trying to reconcile with her estranged husband for the last 10 months.

According to Us Weekly, she finally decided to end the relationship for good after the couple took a holiday in Barbados in December, and Sheen was caught kissing another woman on the beach.

Both parties filed a request on January 4 to have a private judge appointed to their divorce case.

Sheen is seeking joint custody of their two children, Sam, 23 months, and Lola, 8 months, while Richards is asking for sole custody.

TMZ Exclusive: Scott Stapp -- Arrested

TMZ has learned, Creed lead singer Scott Stapp was arrested Saturday at LAX on charges that he was drunk in a public place (Penal Code, Section 647).

Police sources tell TMZ that Stapp tried to board a plane yesterday but was allegedly so drunk that airline personnel would not let him on. Sources say Stapp was "antagonistic, boisterous and pissed off."

We're told Stapp was taken to LAPD's Van Nuys division and demanded a blood-alcohol test. He blew a .18, more than twice the legal limit.

Stapp's arrest in LA came just one day after his marriage in Miami. His bride is Jaclyn Nesheiwat. Unclear if she was at the airport during the arrest.

Stapp must appear on March 8 for arraignment.

Forget Kryptonite, 3 Doors Down need to worry more about wet roads.

Frontman Brad Arnold is recovering at home in Biloxi, Mississippi, after suffering major injuries resulting from a car wreck earlier this month, per a posting on the band's Website.

Arnold, 27, was riding shotgun and his wife, Terika, was driving on a rural Mississippi highway during a driving rain storm on Feb. 1, when she lost control and skidded off the road.

"They were coming back from a casino, hit some kind of water on the road," bandmate Todd Harrell told the Associated Press. "The car hydroplaned, went down a high embankment, and they hit a tree. I guess if Brad hadn't been wearing his seat belt, he'd probably be dead now."

According to the band's site, Arnold sustained several severe lacerations and bruises but is expected to make a full recovery.

Harnell said that Arnold received "35 or 40 stitches in the side of his face," but that his wife somehow managed to escape injury in the crash. No other cars were involved in the incident.

"He had a plastic surgeon come in and work on him--sewed his ear back on," Harell said. "He's going to be all right. He was hit hard, though."

The band, which has sold more than 12 million records during its career, had been on the road in support of its chart-topping 2005 release, Seventeen Days. Due to the accident, several shows have been either scrapped or postponed indefinitely.

With Arnold waylaid, the band isn't ready to announce makeup dates or whether it will proceed with a European tour scheduled for next month.

LOS ANGELES - Actor Chris Penn died accidentally from an enlarged heart and the effects of a mix of multiple medications, the county coroner's office said Monday.

"There is absolutely no indication that this is anything but an accident," chief coroner investigator Craig Harvey said.

Penn, 40, the younger brother of Sean Penn, was found dead in his Santa Monica condominium on Jan. 24, but the results of his autopsy and toxicology tests were not released until Monday.

The primary cause of death was "nonspecific cardiomyopathy," an oversized heart, with the "effects of multiple medication intake," according to a statement issued by the coroner's office.

"We know he had several prescriptions, including promethazine with codeine, which featured predominantly in his death," Harvey said.

Promethazine with codeine is known as a highly addictive prescription medication. Promethazine is an antihistamine that prevents vomiting, while codeine suppresses coughing and relieves pain, Harvey said.

"We don't know how much he ingested or when," Harvey said. "There are a lot of 'what ifs' to be factored in."

Not true. That was Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' response Tuesday to a Valentine's Day report by Life & Style magazine claiming that the Hollywood superstar and his pregnant paramour have split up.

"It should be known that the story is 100 percent false," Arnold Robinson, a publicist for the couple, said in a statement. "Mr. Cruise and Ms. Holmes are still engaged and are moving forward with their wedding plans, as well as planning for the arrival of their child."

The Feb. 27 issue of the magazine, which will be on news stands Friday, says in a cover story that the public pair "plan to keep up the charade of their romance until after their baby's birth this spring."

Holmes, 27, and Cruise, 43, have been engaged since June. They announced her pregnancy in October.

"Despite the malicious fallacies put forth by Life & Style magazine, the couple is looking forward to a long and happy life together as a family," Robinson said.

A representative for the magazine said, "We stand 100 percent behind our story."

Shannen Doherty in car crash

SANTA MONICA, California (AP) -- Actress Shannen Doherty complained of pain after a car crash that sent another driver to the hospital, Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies said.

The former "Charmed" and "Beverly Hills 90210" star was driving a Range Rover, trying to make a left turn onto Pacific Coast Highway at 10:17 a.m. Monday when she collided with a Ford Mustang driven by James Warren Paul, Lt. Steve Wilson said Tuesday.

Paul was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, Wilson said. The hospital did not have a record of Paul and Wilson said he didn't know the extent of Paul's injuries.

Doherty, 34, complained of pain after the crash, but declined treatment, he said.

Investigators listed Doherty as "the party most at fault," he added.

Doherty was arrested for drunken driving in 2001 and ordered to serve five days on a work-release program after pleading no contest to the misdemeanor charge.

LOS ANGELES - Michael Jackson's ex-wife once made it clear she wanted him to have sole custody of their two children, but an appellate court has ruled that her parental rights were not properly relinquished under the law.

The decision Wednesday was a victory for Deborah Rowe in her battle over the children, setting the stage the stage for further litigation.

"A court cannot enter a judgment terminating parental rights based solely upon the parties' stipulation that the child's mother or father relinquishes those rights," the appeals court said.

The pop star, who has been living out of the country since his acquittal on molestation charges last June, could appeal the ruling. He is reportedly traveling with his children in Italy.

Lawyers for Jackson and Rowe did not immediately return calls for comment Wednesday.

Jackson and Rowe married in November 1996 and filed for divorce in October 1999 after the births of son Prince Michael and a daughter, Paris. Jackson also has another son, Prince Michael II, whose mother hasn't been identified.

Rowe gave up custody in an October 2001 court proceeding in which she said she was willing to do so "because Michael is a wonderful man ... a brilliant father."

A judge voided the order at her request in 2004 after her attorneys argued that proper court procedures weren't followed, according to court records.

"Because she is Jewish, Deborah feared the children might be mistreated if Michael continued his association with the Nation of Islam," the ruling noted.

Loyola Law School professor Laurie Levenson said in an interview that Wednesday's ruling puts Rowe back in the position she was in before she relinquished her parental rights. If the case returns to court, she said, state agencies would probably be asked to evaluate the situation.

"No court has ever really figured out what would be best for these kids," she said.

According to photographer Andrew Sweeney and reporter Lisa LadaBouche, Simpson and Levine got together after they both performed at a concert in Boston, Massachusetts, for radio station Kiss 108 FM in May 2004. Simpson was attending the concert without her husband, who was on holiday in Fiji with his brother, Drew.

Sweeney and LadaBouche, who were covering the concert for local paper, The Raw Story, tell American publication Us Weekly they witnessed the two singers kissing in a VIP area backstage.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Madonna may have gyrated like a 20-year-old at the Grammy Awards, but her body felt the brunt of it later. Following last week's high-octane performance, Madonna had hernia surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

The 47-year-old singer appeared "pale and had no appetite" after the surgery. At the Los Angeles Kabbalah Center on Feb. 10, she did not eat or lead the after-dinner prayer as she usually does when there. Husband Guy Ritchie was absent, the Post reported.

"Whatever was commented on in the New York Post is what we're confirming," Briele Douglass said Thursday. She is an assistant to Madonna's publicist.

Last summer, a horse accident in London left Madonna with a broken collarbone and three cracked ribs.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock 'n' roll king Elvis Presley, has married guitarist and music producer Michael Lockwood in a ceremony in Kyoto, Japan, her publicist said Thursday. Presley, 38, and Lockwood exchanged vows in a traditional Japanese ceremony on Jan. 22, spokesman Paul Bloch said.

It was Presley's fourth marriage. She was previously married to Nicolas Cage, Michael Jackson and Danny Keough, who is the father of her two children.

The bride's mother, actress Priscilla Presley, walked her daughter down the aisle and gave her away, Bloch said.

Daughter Riley Keough was maid of honor and son Benjamin Keough was a groomsman.

The best man was Presley's first husband Danny Keough.

Also attending the wedding were Lockwood's parents, Vivian and William Lockwood.

Lockwood was Presley's musical director and is listed as executive producer on her 2005 album "Now What."

Presley lives in the Los Angeles area but Bloch said he didn't know where the couple planned to live.

LONDON (Reuters) - Superstar Madonna has been treated for a hernia but is now "absolutely fine," her spokeswoman said on Thursday.

The singer, who performed at the Grammy awards in Los Angeles last week, re-appeared in public on Thursday night when she accepted a Brit record industry statuette in London as Best International Female Artist of the year.

The report also found traces of promethazine (an antihistamine) in his system.

Chris, the younger brother of Oscar-winner Sean Penn, was found dead on January 24 at his condominium near the beach in Santa Monica, California.

The 40-year-old actor's body was discovered after police were called to the condominium complex by Penn's housekeeper.

The official cause of death is still an enlarged heart, but the coroner's office claims the drugs in his system added to the problems associated with his already enlarged heart.

Chris Penn's film credits included "Starsky & Hutch," "Mulholland Falls," "Rumble Fish," "All the Right Moves," "Footloose" and "Rush Hour." He also played Nice Guy Eddie Cabot in the 1992 Quentin Tarantino crime drama "Reservoir Dogs."

His late father, Leo Penn, directed television shows. His mother, Eileen Ryan, is an actress whose credits include "I Am Sam," "Magnolia" and "Parenthood." Another brother is musician Michael Penn.

Kid Rock Wins Temporary Ban on Sex Tape

Rap-rocker Kid Rock has won a temporary ban on the distribution of an explicit sex tape, which features the star and fellow singer Scott Stapp romping with four women. Although Ritchie's lawsuit seeks a permanent court order halting the sale or distribution of the tape, Judge John Feikens signed a temporary order yesterday, which bans Red Light District from posting a preview clip on their websites. The rocker's lawyer William Horton tells local newspaper Detroit Free Press, "We don't deny the authenticity of the tape. But they're using this without his permission to drive the sales of their other products." Red Light District president David Joseph claims he obtained the video from a third-party, although Ritchie claims he understood the video was Stapp's private property after filming it.

The fight over the fortune of oil entrepreneur J. Howard Marshall II between the one-time Playboy Playmate of the Year and Marshall's youngest son, 67-year-old E. Pierce Marshall, goes before the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday.

The case is remarkable in part because of the number of zeros involved — the estate has been estimated at as much as $1.6 billion in 2000. But Smith has added colorful and sometimes raw speech and some unusual fashion statements for a grieving widow, including a T-shirt with "Spoiled" spelled out in rhinestones across her ample chest.

"I have to smile with fondness for our system, that says that our highest court will look at legal issues no matter who the sponsor is," said Rusty Hardin, one of Pierce Marshall's attorneys.

LONDON, England (Reuters) -- British singer George Michael was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of possessing drugs after he was found slumped in a car in central London, a police source said.

Michael, 42, who has sold more than 80 million records worldwide during a 25-year career, was arrested in the Hyde Park area of the capital early on Sunday, the source said.

A London police spokesman issued a statement saying a 42-year-old man had been held on suspicion of possessing Class C drugs, a group in British law that includes cannabis, tranquillisers and some painkillers.

"We were called by a member of the public to a man seen slumped over the steering wheel of a car," the statement said. "He was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances."

He was bailed to return to a police station in late March pending a police investigation.

Michael's manager and publicist could not be reached for comment.

Under British law, anyone convicted of having Class C drugs can be jailed for up to two years and face an unlimited fine, according to the Home Office (interior ministry) Web site.

In a front page report, the Sun newspaper said the singer was found in a dark-coloured Range Rover parked on Hyde Park Corner, one of central London's busiest intersections.

The unsourced report said he was taken into police custody and was examined by a doctor. He had his photograph and fingerprints taken and was released after more than seven hours, the report said.

It is not the star's first brush with the law.

Michael was arrested in April, 1998, for engaging in a "lewd act" in a public toilet in Los Angeles, after which he ended years of speculation by announcing that he was gay.

He told Reuters in an interview last year that he was giving up the world of pop, saying he found the media attention and celebrity "unbearable."

The singer had a string of hits in the 1980s with the band Wham! before forging a successful solo career with albums such as "Faith," "Listen Without Prejudice, Vol. 1" and "Patience."

His Brazilian boyfriend Anselmo Feleppa died of an AIDS-related condition in 1993, and Michael fought a legal battle with his record label Sony in the early 1990s before being bought out in a deal reported to be worth $40 million.

After a triumphant musical comeback, Mariah Carey has once again set her sights on the big screen and is set to appear in independent drama Tennessee. The Don't Forget About Us singer starred in the widely panned 2001 movie Glitter, and appeared with actress Mira Sorvino in WiseGirls in 2002.

In Tennessee, Carey will play a waitress who sets off with two brothers to find their estranged father in order to save their younger brother, who has leukaemia. Sophia Bush wants marriage to Chad Michael Murray annuled


Sophia Bush wants to erase the one short marriage she shared with One Tree Hill costar Chad Michael Murray.

The 23-year-old actress is seeking to annul her five-month marriage to Murray, 24, according to papers filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Bush cited "fraud" as the reason for wanting to clear the relationship from the books.

Although magazine reports claimed Murray cheated on Bush, those who followed Renée Zellweger's split from country rocker Kenny Chesney have learned that "fraud" does not necessarily connote heinous deception. Zellweger cited it as the reason for her split and wound up having to issue a statement clarifying that "fraud" was simply a legal term and did not mean he had actually cheated or misled her. Coincidentally, Zellweger and Chesney were also married for five months, which is practically Guinness record time compared to Britney Spears, who annulled her first marriage, to childhood chum Jason Alexander, after a whopping 48 hours.

Annulments are rare in California, and Bush will have to prove her case to the court. State law reads that a fraudulent marriage means that "the consent of either party was obtained by fraud."

Well, the rumor is that Chad slept with Paris Hilton just before his wedding to Sophia, right? So, if he lied to her about that and she went ahead and married him, I guess that could be considered fraud. I know nothing about law, I'm just guessing.
