It may be hard for some to see actor John Corbett - Carrie's sweet, suffering boyfriend Aidan on "Sex and The City" - as a grizzled country singer.

But by the time you're done listening to his self-titled debut album, you'll no longer be concentrating on his acting persona, but his country twang.

Corbett, a West Virginia native, is convincing and appealing on this solid collection of 12 songs. His vocals are surprisingly strong, and the album features catchy melodies written by the likes of top-notch songwriters like Nashville's Jon Randall and Elton John's songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin.

The troubles brought on by women are a universal theme of male country singers - actually, most singers of any genre - and Corbett's adds his voice to the pain here. "Bottle of Whiskey," one of the album's best tracks, explores how one lady's memory can only be discussed after a bottle of the hard stuff.

"Good to Go" has Corbett giving thanks for all he has to be grateful for in his life. He shows his soft side in "Wichita," a sentimental ballad about a woman he once met there. And "Cash" is a curious song about listening to Johnny Cash after being laid off from a factory job.

It's another example of how Corbett works hard to come across as a good ole boy on his album, and like the good actor that he is, he succeeds.

Moore and Kutcher to Adopt?

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have slammed rumors they are expecting their first child together, but admit they may consider adoption. The pair, who wed in September last year, have been plagued by reports they are trying for a child, but Kutcher insists they are not true. He says, "She's not pregnant. Hilton Blasts Richie Again

Socialite Paris Hilton has launched a scathing attack on Nicole Richie, branding her former friend jealous and fame-hungry. The hotel heiress and her Simple Life co-star mysteriously fell out in January 2005 and have refused to divulge the reason behind the rift. Hilton and Richie will soon be reunited on screen for a fourth series of their reality TV show, "The Simple Life 4: Till Death Do Us Part," but will not have to film any scenes together. Hilton says, "She cannot stand being around me because I get all the attention and people really don't care about her. "It breaks my heart. She was my sister. She was the funniest, best person to be around and then she let fame go to her head. "She's not the same person any more. I never want to speak to her again - ever." The 25-year-old socialite is also determined to break the rules of her TV contract and escape working with Richie again in a possible fifth series. She adds, "We're under contract, but I don't want to do it. They want to do it with just me, but we're both under contract together. "She has nothing else so she really wants to do it, but I don't. It's really pathetic that she needs to use my name to sell something because she's obviously not enough. "I've been best friends with her since I was two, but when I brought her onto my show, she got very jealous and turned on me for no reason." O'Donnell Challenges Campbell to Fight

Comedian Rosie O'Donnell has challenged supermodel Naomi Campbell to fight, insisting the British beauty needs someone to "kick her a*s." O'Donnell was horrified when the catwalk queen was charged with assault in New York City last month after she allegedly beat her assistant with a mobile telephone. And she plans to exert her own brand of justice on the fiery model. O'Donnell explains, "I just picture this cute little Mexican woman working saying, Excuse me Miss Campbell can I possibly get you... ' and Naomi going, 'Get away from me, bam bam bam!' "To make matters worse she had that jewel-encrusted cell phone. That's got to score with the diamonds. Travoltas Support Holmes and Cruise Over Silent Birth Plans

Hollywood couple John Travolta and Kelly Preston have raced to fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise's support as he and fiancee Katie Holmes plan a controversial silent birth in the coming days. The heavily pregnant actress plans to adhere to strict Scientology rules and give birth without screaming obscenities or making loud noises. But the Travoltas insist the birthing procedure, which has been mocked in the press over the past few months, isn't like people think. The Pulp Fiction star says, "There are unwanted emotions and pain that goes along with any birth." Preston insists the Scientology-friendly labor doesn't forbid the mum-to-be from yelling out in pain: "Screaming is fine... It's the words. If you can avoid saying certain phrases and words... Sharon Stone is the best mom ever

While flying from New York to Los Angeles last Friday, Sharon Stone stayed in first-class while her 9-month-old son, Laird, sat in coach with the nanny. During the flight, Sharon made her way back to coach to tell the nanny to keep Laird in his seat even if he started crying. A spokeswoman explains:

"First class was sold out. She tried to get them seats in first class but couldn't, and she didn't want them on a separate plane."

Sure, she could have just sucked it up and sat in coach with her baby, but the key to good parenting is hiring a nanny to take care of all that stuff for you so you can nap in peace. It's like the first thing they teach you in parenting school. That and shaking the baby really hard when they misbehave.

I think it’s a good idea to keep the knives away from this chick. Naomi Campbell was supposed to be a part of Diddy’s realtiy TV cooking show, Celebrity Cooking Showdown, but had to pull out due to her recent arrest. Here’s more:

The British stunner told the rap mogul she’d be unavailable for his upcoming show after hearing her maid ANA SCOLAVINO planned to charge her with assault last week after she allegedly hit her with a jewel-encrusted cell phone. Diddy confirms, “Naomi’s not in it. She’s been out for like two weeks.” And show host ALAN THICKE jokes, “Naomi was booked and then got booked again, apparently at some precinct in New York.” Campbell was set to show off her culinary skills opposite soul diva PATTI LABELLE in the inaugural show, which airs in the US on 17 April (06).

Jessica Alba Drops Claims Against Playboy
Hef apologizes for using her photo on cover

(April 5, 12:45PM ET) -- Super hot Jessica Alba has dropped her beef with Playboy magazine after an apology from the silk-pajamed one himself, Hugh Hefner.

The battle began when Alba says Playboy used a publicity photo from Alba's film, 'Into the Blue,' on the cover of their March 25 Sexiest Celebrities issue without her expressed consent. Alba has never posed for Playboy, and has repeatedly said she will not be photographed nude. By putting her on the cover, Alba felt Playboy tarnished her image by intimating there were nude photos inside.

"This was never about money," Alba said in a written statement. "It was about setting the record straight about something that was done without my knowledge or consent."

In addition to the apology, Playboy also made donations on behalf of Alba to Keep A Child Alive and the Until There's A Cure Foundation.

Cameron Dias Wins Suit Over Topless Photos

Cameron Diaz, 33, has won damages in a civil lawsuit against a photographer that took topless photos of the actress at age 19, and then tried to sell them back to her years later for $3.5 million before shopping them to others.

A Los Angeles judge awarded Diaz an undisclosed amount in statutory damages, and also dismissed a countersuit filed by the photographer accusing Diaz of fraud and breach of contract.

In 2003, Diaz sued photographer John Rutter on the grounds that the model release form was forged. Last year he was convicted of perjury, forgery, attempted grand larceny and sentenced to nearly four years in prison.

Whitney Houston’s woes continue.

Fans of the once clean-cut singer were shocked by recent photos of her that ran in tabs along with allegations of cocaine use. And now there are charges that some of her problems may have been complicated by her dealings with a group that has been labeled a cult.

“Houston and husband Bobby Brown first hooked up with the so-called ‘Black Hebrews’ in 2003 on a trip to Israel,” notes Rick Ross of Cultnews.com. Houston has reportedly sought help from her “spiritual advisor” with the group in recent months. “The strange group is led by Ben Carter, a former Chicago resident who now calls himself ‘Ben Ammi Ben Israel’,” according to Ross, who reports that the group has been plagued by controversy. One of Carter’s henchmen was convicted of “operating an international crime ring” in the 1980s, and recently, the group was linked to the death of a child — allegedly because of the diet the child was given.

“Does Whitney Houston really need this kind of help?” asks Ross. “Perhaps Houston’s friends should come up with something better than a choice between either crack or a ‘cult’ for the troubled singer.”

Paula Abdul Files Police Report Citing Harrassment

American Idol judge Paula Abdul visited a local police station after a recent evening out allegedly turned bad. LAPD Lieutenant Paul Vernon tells Us: “At 9 p.m. April 4, Paula Abdul came into the Hollywood Station to fill out a police report involving an incident at a party at 1 a.m on April 2.

She said a man at the party grabbed her by the arm and threw her against a wall. She claimed to have a concussion and spinal injuries. She told officers that she sought her own medical treatment and that she would agree to have her injuries photographed at a later date.” The LAPD are investigating her claims and will not release the name of the suspect pending investigation.

Us has learned that the night also ended with Abdul’s ex-boyfriend Dante Spencer in the hospital. According to a source, last Saturday night Abdul and friends headed to Xenii (a floating after-hours party held in a different location each week), where she ran into former CAA agent Jim Lefkowitz.

Lefkowitz took offense to Abdul’s “smirky attitude,” and after a heated discussion, the agent “accidentally-on-purpose bumped into her” so hard that Abdul ended up sprawled on the floor. Spencer then rushed to Abdul’s defense and punched Lefkowitz in the face, our witness says.

A shaken Abdul was taken home, complaining of pain in her lower back and a possible concussion. Spencer was driven to the hospital where he received stiches for a cut below his eyebrow.

The magazine makes the claim that Jessica got especially upset after she saw her photo right next to Kristin’s in a magazine, says the source. “She was furious. She thought it was insulting and embarrassing to be lumped together with Kristin," the insider dishes to the magazine.

Flockhart Admits Eating Disorder

Former "Ally McBeal" star Calista Flockhart has admitted she suffered from anorexia while filming the hit law firm TV comedy.

After years of claiming her skinny figure was due to being "small-boned" the actress has finally revealed grueling work schedules and the stress of finishing the show, which was axed in 2002, made her stop wanting to eat.

At one point her weight plummeted to under 99 pounds.

Flockhart says, "At the time of all that, I was seriously stressed. I was working 15 hour days on the set and then I was dealing with the end of the show, which was basically my life.

"I started under-eating, over-exercising, pushing myself too hard and brutalizing my immune system. I guess I just didn't find time to eat.

"I am much more healthy these days."

Also, the actress has denied rumors she and boyfriend Harrison Ford plan to marry, because they are perfectly happy as they are.

The 41-year-old star claims she is indifferent to marriage and is happy to continue living with the 63-year-old two-time divorcee and caring for her son, Liam, 5.

She says, "We really haven't discussed it. He's had two long marriages before.

"But we're just very happy and content with the way things are. To be honest I can go either way."

It's definitely true...they confirmed the birth to People. I am sure it was just a case of that website estimating her pregnancy based on when she announced she was pregnant and her size.

In the GQ story, written by Jeanne Marie Laskas, Douglas is quoted as saying: "I don't know about Brad Pitt, leaving that beautiful wife to go hold orphans for Angelina," he was quoted as saying.

"I mean, how long is that going to last?"

The Brangelina-bashing comments were picked up widely.

However, in an interview that was to air Monday, Douglas tells TV's "Extra" he denies having said it.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard are engaged and expecting a baby, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

No further details have been released about the couple, who have been together for more than four years.

They costarred in 2003's In God's Hands, a low-budget feature produced by Steven Soderbergh that was never released.

Gyllenhaal, 28, has appeared in more than 20 films, including Secretary, Mona Lisa Smile and Donnie Darko, which starred her brother, Jake Gyllenhaal.

Sarsgaard, 35, has also shared the screen with his fiancée's brother – in last year's war film Jarhead. Sarsgaard's résumé includes Boys Don't Cry, Kinsey and Shattered Glass, for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination in 2004.

This will be the first marriage and child for both actors.

Lopez Fights To Keep Ex-Husband Quiet

Jennifer Lopez has filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband Ojani Noa in a bid to show the former model she won't tolerate his plans to reveal all about her personal life in a new book. In court documents, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court yesterday and obtained by entertainment news website Tmz.com, Lopez claims Noa demanded $5 million from her to keep him from selling a tell-all book. The lawsuit states that Noa sent a letter to Lopez's attorney last year, in which the Cuban, a former manager of Lopez's Madre's restaurant in California, "declared his intention to continue to shop his proposed book and to obtain a publisher for the book." Lopez's attorneys received another letter from Noa earlier this year, claiming "he would not agree to refrain from marketing his book unless (Lopez) paid him a sum of $5 million." The lawsuit claims Noa made statements to the New York Post's Page Six column alleging Lopez had an affair with her current husband Marc Anthony while he was still married to Dayanara Torres.

For months, breakup rumors have dogged Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie.

And, now, Guy's father, John Ritchie, in a move sure to infuriate her Madgesty, has spoken on the record to the media about the "bumpy period" in his son's marriage to the pop superstar.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been going through a rough patch in their marriage, according to his father.

"It's the children that will keep them together," says Guy's dad. "The children are everything to them."

Currently in Los Angeles, where Madonna is rehearsing for her summer tour, Papa Ritchie believes, "LA seems to have helped them. It's easier out there because there is less pressure. They seem to have left the bumps they were having over here behind them. You can never know that things will work, but they do seem to be fitting into each other more. They have put everything behind them and have gone to LA to enjoy themselves. They're able to go home at night and be together. They both want to see the children. They are going to have a good time out there and be a family."

I watched some of it . . . and yeah, she was DEFINITELY being just plain ODD.

I couldn't really say it was straight drunk though . . . that's the odd part about it. Just with the slow . . . sort of right responses, but . . . I don't know. I don't watch AI, but I've caught her once or twice on one of those E! biography shows . . . and she's always seemed much faster . . .

But ultimately after a minute or two it made me sort of uncomfortable b/c she was being so bizarre . . and I switched it. I did catch the part about Ryan Seacrest and Teri Hatcher . . . I caught Paula Abdul on Jay Leno and spent the whole time trying to figure out why she seemed so strange. I don't think she was drunk at all, because when she was doing her tongue-in-cheek countdown about why drinking is good, she was standing up and turning around to gesture to Jay a lot and I kept waiting for her to look off-balance or even just look unsteady on her feet when she stood up or sat down or turned towards Jay but she didn't. She didn't slur words at all either (I don't think).

If I'm not mistaken, it's been reported that she's (legally) taken painkillers for a chronic medical condition in the past, and I know that there was a report that she was assaulted recently and that she saw a physician afterwards, so it is possible she was given medication related to that. Or she could be taking prescribed medication for a different health reason.

I am totally not an anti-medication person, but I do know that even medication that's taken exactly as prescribed can alter a person's personality, sometimes drastically. When I was in high school I had all of my wisdom teeth taken out and the oral surgeon prescribed demerol. As far as I could remember afterwards, I stayed in bed for the next 5 days without ever eating, talking, or even getting up to pee. It was as if 5 days of my life had never happened, lol! :D

In reality, I must have been getting up to pee since there would have been some evidence otherwise, and I apparently did talk, at least long enough to express my undying love and affection for everyone who walked by the sofabed I was sleeping on...Good times, apparently. ;)

Bow Wow and Ciara Split

Bow Wow and Ciara have split, a spokeswoman for Ciara has confirmed. The young celebrity couple had dated for nearly a year.

"I cannot comment on the reason, but can confirm that Ciara and Bow Wow have split," said Tracy Nguyen in a statement Monday. The spokeswoman also took the unusual step of stating that the breakup wasn't amicable.

Yes, I did read after posting that, I think on a link from pinkisthenewblog, that people were assuming she was drugged (although their assumption was not the prescription meds!). Your point about the pain meds is valid though - on the same E! profile I referenced before, I remember her talking about . . . was it a back injury or something?

So it is likely it was a completely reasonable drugged state . . and my main experience has been with hydrocodone (lovely stuff, btw), but for being on painkillers, she did pretty well! I just don't know that, if I were her publicist, I would have wanted her turning into the next Farrah Fawcett during that body-painting period . . . :)

Ally McBeal star Calista Flockhart has admitted she suffered from anorexia while filming the hit law firm TV comedy.

After years of claiming her skinny figure was due to being "small-boned", the actress has finally revealed gruelling work schedules and the stress of finishing the show, which was axed in 2002, made her stop wanting to eat.

At one point her weight plummeted to under seven stone.

Flockhart says: "At the time of all that, I was seriously stressed. I was working 15-hour days on the set and then I was dealing with the end of the show, which was basically my life.

George Michael has blasted Elton John for stirring up rumours his life is in free-fall. Airport police arrested the woman when the flight landed. She continued her unruly behavior with officers, police said.

Andersen was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital to check for signs of alcohol or drug abuse, then booked into Miami-Dade County Jail.

I'm not positive, but to write a report like this don't you have to provide alot of evidence of the accusations? I say this b/c I have a cousin going through a pretty messy divorce and she had to provide only factual information that she had proof to support the accusations being made. There may not have been. Have you ever known a man like this? I have and they are first class charmers when they want to be. Not to mention that he's an ACTOR. He showed her the side of himself that he needed to, to convince her that he was over his addictions.

They were photographed together in public, but we don't know what was behind those photos- it might not have been all hunky-dory. Also, IIRC, it was obvious they were fighting in the vacation photos before they split up again. To me, everything she said jived with what we've seen in the media the past couple of years as far as the timeline. I'm inclined to believe her- things would have to be pretty bad to leave your husband when you're 7 months PG. Also, it would be pretty easy to find proof of his online porn habit- credit card reciepts. She can also get the security guards, nannies, etc. as witnesses. She also said she has the threatening messages taped.

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Embattled pop star Michael Jackson is eyeing a collaboration with rapper 50 Cent.

The first fruit of a potential pairing would likely appear on a mixtape spearheaded by DJ Whoo Kid, a member of 50 Cent's crew, who told Billboard.com he is heading to Bahrain in two weeks to take possession of tracks Jackson has been working on in his home studio.

50 Cent's spokesperson said the rapper has made no commitment to appear on the mixtape -- a DJ-produced compilation popular in the hip-hop world -- or on Jackson's next studio album, which will be released on his new Two Seas label.

Sources say the first single from that as-yet-untitled project, "Now That I Found Love," will be released November 21. The track is being produced by Jackson and longtime collaborator Bruce Swedien, who engineered the classic track "Thriller" and co-produced the album "Dangerous."

Two Seas Records is a joint venture between Jackson and Abdulla Hamad Al-Khalifa. U.K. record executive Guy Holmes has been tapped as CEO of the label and will also be tasked with managing Jackson's other business interests.

Costner exposed as actor behind sex act claim


Kevin Costner has been revealed as the celebrity accused of performing a sex act while having a massage at a prestigious hotel in Scotland, after a tribunal ruled there was not a strong enough reason to keep his name suppressed.

The Hollywood star was accused of taking off his towel during the massage at The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, Fife, in October 2004, exposing himself and then performing a sex act.

An earlier legal ruling had prevented his identity being revealed, but the tribunal chairman Nicol Hosie ruled that following widespread newspaper and magazine reports outside Britain, as well as internet blogs, which alleged that Costner was the culprit, his name had already fully entered the public domain.

A lawyer acting for the Daily Mail newspaper had argued that Costner’s had been published in papers including the Sunday Times in Perth, Australia, The National Enquirer and the Himalaya Times in Nepal.

The 51-year-old actor had been on honeymoon with his new wife in St Andrews when he went for the massage.

The 34-year-old spa worker giving the massage claimed she had been unfairly dismissed after she made a complaint to management about Costner’s behaviour.

But just before her tribunal hearing was due to start today the woman, who cannot be named, settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.

Last month, the Scottish masseuse told the tribunal in Dundee that she was "mortified" when Costner removed his massage towel before engaging in a sex act.

"It was disgusting and, even though he was a Hollywood superstar, I couldn’t believe he thought he could get away with something like that," she said.

"Kevin Costner abused me and I considered that a criminal act.

"When I was giving his wife a massage afterwards, I wanted to tell her everything."

The management of the hotel had not taken her seriously enough when she complained, she said, and she had not been provided with adequate counselling. The woman said that she was sacked last August.

Costner, whose best-known films include Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and The Bodyguard, is understood to be a good friend of the hotel’s owners. He has previously denied the claims through his publicist Paul Bloch.

Speaking from Los Angeles tonight, Mr Bloch said: "This is a dispute between an ex-employee and a hotel; this was never about Kevin Costner."

He added: "I have not even reached Mr Costner. He’s on location shooting so he knows nothing more about this."

An advocate representing The Daily Mail, Laurence Kennedy told the tribunal: "It is not the role of the tribunal to police the question of reputation," he said.

"The newspaper wishes to be free to report the allegations as allegations, not as a matter of fact."

After deliberating for an hour, Mr Hosie said it was unlikely that Costner was unaware of the allegations against him, given the coverage the story has had in the American press and on the internet.

"It is very significant that his name is widely reported in the world’s press," he said. "It is already a matter which is in the public domain."

He added he was not convinced there was a pressing social need convincing enough to allow restrictions to be put in place which would prevent Costner being identified.

Britain's Prince William is planning a Caribbean holiday with sweetheart Kate Middleton - and is bringing along his ex-girlfriend.

Baldwin brother arrested with coke


TMZ has learned that Daniel Baldwin has been arrested on charges of possession of cocaine. Police sources tell TMZ that Daniel, brother to Alec, Stephen and Billy, was arrested on April 22nd, after cops received a call that a woman had been threatened at the Ocean Park Motel in Santa Monica, California.

We're told that the police responded to a motel room where Baldwin and man named Buddy Winston were front and center. Cops said they found cocaine and arrested both men. Baldwin's bail was set a $10,000.

Brother to several well-known actors, Daniel Baldwin is an actor in his own right. His credits include Homicide: Life On The Street,' 'NYPD Blue' and a number of movies.

TMZ has been told that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has declined to prosecute the case and referred it to the Santa Monica City Attorney. That means, at worst, Baldwin could be prosecuted for misdemeanor drug possession.

Hollywood star Nicole Kidman is reportedly planning to marry boyfriend Keith Urban in a winter ceremony in her home city Sydney, Australia. According to gossip in Australia, the pair will tie the knot in a Catholic church in the city on June 25. Kidman's publicist has refused to comment on "speculation on wedding dates" but rumors have circulated since the couple were first linked last year. They only confirmed their relationship in February, by arriving at the Grammy Awards holding hands. Kidman has fuelled rumors by showing off a diamond ring on her engagement finger.


Union Gives Up on Saving Marriage

Conflicting Reports Over Richards Accident


Rolling Stones star Keith Richards is recovering in hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, but press reports disagree over how the guitarist was injured. Initial reports said the 62-year-old rocker fell out of a palm tree while on holiday in Fiji on Thursday and suffered a mild concussion. A local newspaper then alleged Richards got on a jet ski after the fall and hurt himself again in another accident. Band spokeswoman Fran Curtis only comments that Richards was injured earlier this week and flew to New Zealand with wife Patti for observation. Her statement did not mention the severity of Richards' condition or how he was hurt. New Zealand's Sunday Star-Times quoted Doctor Uzzel Kanti Dhar as saying Richards was admitted to a private hospital in Fiji on Thursday and then airlifted to Auckland later that day. Fans gathered outside an Auckland hospital yesterday, and New Zealand's TV3 reported that Richard's wife arrived carrying clothes, while a security guard carried in three guitar cases.

WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court ruled Monday that one-time stripper and Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith could pursue part of her late husband's oil fortune.

Justices gave new legal impetus to Smith's bid to collect millions of dollars from the estate of J. Howard Marshall II. Her late husband's estate has been estimated at as much as $1.6 billion.

Smith has been embroiled in a long running cross-country court fight with Marshall's youngest son, E. Pierce Marshall. The court's decision, which was unanimous, means that it will not end anytime soon.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, writing for the court, said Smith should have a fresh chance to pursue claims in federal court.

Smith's case had brought unusual drama to the normally sedate high court.

Dressed in all black, she wept in the courtroom in late February as justices discussed Marshall and whether he had intended to provide for his young wife in death. When Smith arrived at the court, several photographers were knocked to the ground in a scuffle to photograph her.

She was a 26-year-old topless dancer when she married Marshall, then 89, in 1994. He died the following year, setting off an intense family fight.

At issue in the legal battle was competing court jurisdiction. A Texas court held a five-month trial before deciding that Smith was entitled to nothing from Marshall's estate. Smith brought a separate claim in federal court in California.

Justices said Monday that the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals was wrong in ruling that federal courts could not handle Smith's case.

Smith, the spokeswoman for a diet products company, had been awarded $474 million by a federal bankruptcy judge. That was later reduced by a federal district judge and then thrown out altogether by the San Francisco-based 9th Circuit. The case now goes back to California.

"I will continue to fight to uphold my father's estate plan and clear my name," Pierce Marshall said Monday.

Ginsburg noted that there are several pending issues that could still keep Smith from collecting any money.

So far, Smith has received nothing from Marshall's estate, although before his death Marshall showered Smith with $6.6 million in gifts that included two homes, expensive jewelry and clothes. She contends that he also promised her half his estate.

Ginsburg's opinion included only a hint of the nastiness of the family feud. She said there were accusations that Pierce Marshall "engaged in forgery, fraud, and overreaching to gain control of his father's assets" and, on the other side, that Smith had defamed her former stepson.

Pierce Marshall said in a statement that he would "continue to fight to clear my name in California federal court. That is a promise that (Smith) and her lawyers can take to the bank."

The case is Marshall v. Marshall, 04-1544.

I'm not very fond of Rosie, and I have no desire to ever watch the view, but in reading the link posted above, I thought it was that part of the reasoning in this being a good job for her was that the scheduling would still allow her to pick up her kids from school everyday. Former 98 Degrees star arrested in Florida

(May 2, 2:50PM ET) -- Former 98 Degrees band member Jeff Timmons was busted April 23 for alleged drunk driving and driving without a valid license.

Timmons, who sang alongside Nick and Drew Lachey in the popular 90s boy band, was pulled over by deputies from the Brevard County, Fla. sheriff's office for going 60 mph in a 45 mph zone, after he left a celebrity softball game.

According to the police report, Timmons was driving with two "very intoxicated" passengers, one of whom Timmons identified as Mitch English, host of the syndicated tv show "The Daily Buzz." The police report indicates that English said he was "unable to drive because he had way too much to drink."

When the police asked Timmons if he had had anything to drink that night, Timmons first replied "a lot" and then said he "only had two beers." When the officer checked Timmons' record, it indicated that his driver's license had expired in 2005 and was suspended.

The arrest report indicates Timmons has a tattoo of 98 Degrees on his right arm.

When reached, Timmons had no comment. Calls to representatives for The Daily Buzz were not returned....

HOLLYWOOD - Socialite-turned-actress Nicole Richie has faced up to her weight loss after insisting she's just naturally thin.

The Simple Life star has opened up to style magazine Vanity Fair, admitting she shudders at the thought of young women trying to obtain her skinny look.

Richie accepts her slim-line look can be a concern and admits she has a weight problem in the publication. She says, "I know I'm too thin right now, so I wouldn't want any young girl looking at me and saying, 'That's what I want to look like.'"

But she insists her weight problems are not connected to an alleged eating disorder, and she's doing whatever she can to take control of her health.

She adds, "I started seeing a nutritionist and a doctor... I do recognize that I have a problem, and I want to be responsible and fix it, and I'm on that path right now."

But even her doctors aren't convinced the star isn't anorexic. In the upcoming Vanity Fair article, one of her medics, Jeffrey Wilkins says, "If it's not anorexia, she should be able to gain the weight. If it ends up being anorexia we can help her with that."

Nick Lachey has lashed out at teen star Lindsay Lohan for expressing a romantic interest in him, insisting he isn't remotely attracted to her. The actress has always had a crush on Jessica Simpson's estranged husband, and now he's single she can't wait to meet again.

Nicole Richie: 'I'm Too Thin'



Nicole Richie, whose rail-thin frame has been a source of much discussion in the media, is now joining the chorus of voices saying that she is too skinny.

"I know I'm too thin right now, so I wouldn't want any young girl looking at me and saying, 'That's what I want to look like,' " Richie tells Vanity Fair in its June issue. "I do know that they will, which is another reason I really do need to do something about it. I'm not happy with the way I look right now."

Richie blames her severe weight loss on, in part, her December breakup with then-fiancé Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein. "I get really stressed out, and I do lose my appetite," she says. (She and AM have been spotted together again recently.)

In an effort to put on a few pounds, Richie says she forced herself to eat – particularly high-calorie foods like burritos – but eventually sought professional help. "I started seeing a nutritionist and a doctor. I was scared that it could be something more serious."

She is also working with a psychiatrist and a personal trainer. Her medical team characterizes Richie's weight as "in the realm of anorexia," the magazine reports. However, Dr. Jeffery Wilkins, vice-chair of the department of psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, points out, "Our evaluation could change at any time."

Wilkins adds, "We're all concerned, and she's concerned, but it's either going to improve or it won't. If it's not anorexia, she should be able to gain the weight. If it ends up being anorexia, we'll help her with that. I think she's willing to look this in the eye."

Still, Richie says she doesn't even know how much she weighs. "I get weighed once a week with my nutritionist, but I don’t ask. Numbers aren't going to mean anything to me."

Ultimately, Richie says her restless childhood, the divorce of her adoptive parents, Lionel and Brenda Richie, plus an adolescence spent partying and fighting drug addiction all contributed to her trouble with her weight.

"I want to be able to take whatever comes to me and not physically break down every time hard things come my way, because hard things are always going to come my way," she says. "I'm really trying to make it so I have the proper tools to deal with life."

Richie, who is working on her first album and a follow-up to her novel The Truth About Diamonds, also sheds some light on the dissolution of her friendship with her Simple Life costar Paris Hilton: "We never had a fight. I just decided I didn’t want to be her friend anymore."

Although she's considered a style icon and media darling, Richie says she's still trying to figure things out for herself. "Part of the reason I don't really talk about being sober is that I don't want to feel the pressure of being a role model," she says. "I am learning so much about myself that for me to tell other people what to do in their lives is something I'm not really fit to do. I'm a work in progress. I'm not 'there' yet. I don't know if I'll ever be 'there.' "

"James Gandolfini is fine, and his scooter is in the repair shop," HBO spokeswoman Angela Tarantino said Thursday.

Gandolfini, who plays mob boss Tony Soprano on the hit HBO series, was motoring along a street in lower Manhattan Wednesday when the accident happened.

Gandolfini left the scene in another taxi and arranged for his crippled Italian scooter to be picked up to be fixed.

Tori Spelling, freshly divorced from Peabody homey Charlie Shanian, has jetted off to Fiji with her new fiance, Dean McDermott, and the two have taken out a marriage license.

The National Enquirer reports that the “NoTORIous” star and her beau arrived on the South Seas island yesterday afternoon and immediately went to the local registrar’s office to apply to wed.

The former “Beverly Hills 90210” virgin was granted a divorce April 20 from Shanian, according to papers on file in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Her first wedding will be a tough one to top, even on a tropical island. Spelling wed Shanian in a lavish million-dollar ceremony in July 2004 at the Hollywood estate belonging to her father TV director Aaron Spelling.

The blonde bombshell told press at the time that the design for her luxuriant wedding dress “came to me one night in a dream, and I sketched it myself the next day.”

The actress, who will be 33 on May 16, met McDermott while filming the TV movie “Mind Over Murder” in Canada last year. Both were married at the time. They reportedly moved in together shortly after meeting and became engaged Christmas Eve.

TMZ reports, Stavros Niarchos was seen screaming, crying, and begging to be let in Paris Hilton’s house at 1am on Monday. Paris didn’t let him in until 2am, but the yelling did not stop. Supposedly, Matt Leinhart’s name was dropped several times. Stavros was also heard saying,

Tori and Dean tied the knot


Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott were married Sunday on a private tropical island in Fiji, PEOPLE has confirmed exclusively. The non-denominational ceremony was attended only by the bride and groom, both barefoot and wearing white.

"We didn't want to wait another day to get married," Spelling tells PEOPLE.

Adds her new husband, "I've never had as much of a desire to get married and make a woman my wife as I've had with her. The feeling is overwhelming. We're soul mates."

Spelling, 32, and McDermott, 39, met last summer in Ottowa while filming the TV movie Mind Over Murder. At the time, she was wed to actor-writer Charlie Shanian, and McDermott was married to his wife of 12 years, Mary Jo Eustace.

"It just happened," a Spelling friend told PEOPLE about their romance. "No one meant any harm to anyone. You can't help who you fall in love with and who you're right with."

In September, Spelling announced her split from Shanian, and McDermott filed for divorce from Eustace. Spelling's divorce became final last month.

McDermott proposed to the So NoTORIous star on Christmas Eve in Toronto, Canada. His sister put out lights leading to a table for two surrounded by decorated Christmas trees. The couple rode up in a horse-drawn carriage, and McDermott presented Spelling with a diamond and sapphire ring.

"It was so magical. All the stars aligned. I have never been happier in my life," McDermott told PEOPLE at the time.

McDermott has since shown his love for Spelling with tattoos, including one on his wrist that reads "Truly, Madly, Deeply, Tori" and another on his shoulder: a portrait of her. [source: People]

But in one of the latest links, I saw a picture of him where he looked vaguely familiar. I searched his filmography on IMDB and then I found out that ... Toronto TV personality Mary Jo Eustace feels a great deal of empathy these days for Jennifer Aniston. Like the jilted actress, left by Brad Pitt for his pillow-lipped co-star Angelina Jolie, Eustace's husband of 12 years, Dean McDermott, dumped her for his bleached-blond co-star Tori Spelling. On Sunday, Spelling, 32, and McDermott, 39, tied the knot on a beach in Fiji.

McDermott, a North Toronto native who has flaunted his romantic entanglement since the couple's engagement over the Christmas holidays, was quoted on the weekend as saying: "I've never had as much of a desire to get married and make a woman my wife as I've had with her. The feeling is overwhelming. We're soulmates."

Yesterday, Eustace, 44, summed that comment up as "the final nail. What is that? Let's completely negate 13 years," said the now single mom, who has a 7½-year-old son and 10-month-old adopted daughter (the little girl arrived three weeks before McDermott met Spelling on the Ottawa set for the TV movie Mind Over Murder.)

"It all could have been done so different," sighs Eustace, a former co-host of Canada AM and the Life Network's long-running What's for Dinner? "Right from the beginning, it was all about them. I confronted him once and said, 'Do you know how [all this publicity] makes me and my family feel? Do not do this.' He was like, 'I did not even look at it that way.'"

Unlike McDermott's breakup with Eustace, however, his tropical wedding came as no surprise to his wife. "Logistically, because I had to take care of my son, I asked him point-blank. I didn't want any more surprises. I was given a two-week window," says Eustace, speaking on the telephone from her temporary home in Los Angeles. She plans to move back to Toronto with her family on June 4.

Last week, the New York Post's Page Six reported that Eustace was shopping a tell-all book to publishers about her last 12 months called My Husband Left Me for Tori Spelling. To date, Eustace has written the first few chapters, which chronicle the lows of going through a very public divorce, with a heavy dose of humour thrown in.

"The past year was a nightmare, but it was also funny. I have to have a lot of humour about it. I have to embrace that side of it or I'd dis-empower myself. So I will talk about meeting George Clooney at a party and possibly giving him lice, and about the meltdown I had at the driver's licence bureau because I'd missed my appointment. I started to cry and told the guy my husband had left me for Tori Spelling. He let me take my test," she adds, refusing to divulge more details. "So, see, it has an upside too."

Eustace is also currently in discussions with S&S Productions (The Red Green Show, Balance) and CTV to launch another daily lifestyle show.

"It has been a horrendous situation, but the upside is the huge support I've received from people who are important in my life. I had to change. I had to re-evaluate everything and come up with a plan for my new life. I'm trying to only look forward and I try hard not to dwell in the negativity of this. Look, I was flipped into single motherhood, and I admit, the cavalier attitude with which they flaunt their relationship is hard to take. But I'm getting through."

After he proposed to Spelling in Toronto last Christmas, McDermott was quoted gushing in People Magazine, "It was so magical. All the stars aligned. I have never been happier in my life." He also is reported to have the words, "Truly, Madly, Deeply Tori" tattooed on his wrist and a headshot of his new bride tattooed on his arm.

Spelling — the daughter of heavyweight TV producer Aaron Spelling (Dynasty, Melrose Place) — is best known for her role in her dad's drama, Beverly Hills: 90210. She also currently has her own VH1 celebrity sitcom called So noTORIous.

When McDermott left last summer for the nearly month-long Mind Over Murder shoot on which he was to meet Spelling, McDermott and Eustace's newly adopted daughter was three weeks old. (He is no longer legally her adoptive father.) Spelling was also married when they hooked up, and filed for divorce from actor-writer Charlie Shanian 15 months after a lavish, $1-million (U.S.) wedding at the Spellings' Hollywood Hills home.

Eustace — who is very close to her parents and three siblings — agreed to move to Los Angeles last spring to further McDermott's career. After the TV movie wrapped in Ottawa, McDermott flew back to California where he met his family for a holiday in Palm Springs. Coming in after a round of golf about two days into their vacation, Eustace said she asked her husband what was wrong because he'd been acting strange.

"I funnily enough said, 'Have you met someone?' He said, 'Yes.' I said, 'Is it Tori Spelling?' He said, 'Yes.' I said, 'Have you slept with her?' He said, 'Yes, we're soulmates. She loves me unconditionally." I laughed at first. I really thought it was a joke. It was a complete and utter shock."

On Sept. 12, 2005, McDermott served Eustace divorce papers. The divorce became final March 13. "I got the divorce papers when I was doing homework with my son," she adds. Due to U.S. residency laws, Eustace could not leave the country once McDermott served her divorce papers. She had to fight to be able to move with his children back to Canada, while her marital woes were splashed through the tabloids.

"I was in the trenches. I was fighting to get back home. To get things settled. I was completely in survival mode," says Eustace. "After the divorce, that's when things started hitting me. I had to fight legally to be able to leave, which was very difficult. We'd been here such a short period of time." McDermott and Eustace sold their renovated home in Toronto's tony Yorkville and moved to Hollywood in December, 2004.

She met McDermott 14 years ago at a Fashion Cares benefit ball. He was working with some buddies on security. "Dean came up to me and said, 'I know you. I've been in love with you for three years. We talked that night and the next day at work, he sent me flowers," she remembers.

"I have a great deal of empathy for Jennifer Aniston," adds Eustace. "She said something I found very interesting, profound and accurate. She said I'm not going to be defined by this situation and this relationship. If you allow yourself to reside in that place, you won't be able to function. Psychologically, you feel like a prisoner. But you have to find ways to empower yourself. To kick yourself and rise above it."

The pair are so serious that Bleiler, 25, is moving from her current residence in Snowmass Village, Colorado to Los Angeles to be with Gyllenhaal.

The couple shares a love of the outdoors in common. Gyllenhaal is often seen skate-boarding, biking, and surfing. I think Marc Anthony has a tighter reign on J Lo. Notice how he's always around her. I think since she's hooked up w/ him, her movies haven't done well. I read on US Mag that he's always hanging around the sets and second guessing the director.

His ex, Dayanara, has spoken out to US that he's a traditionalist. He likes his women to stay at home and take care of the kids. That could be why J Lo is now under radar. Heaven forbid if she's more popular than him!:p

Thieves Steal Hilton's Mother's Day Gifts

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Paris Hilton's mother can only imagine what her celebrity daughter got her for Mother's Day. That's because thieves stole the gifts before Kathy Hilton received them.

A gift bag containing nearly $10,000 worth of Christian Dior shoes, sunglasses, handbags and perfume was taken from outside the Hilton home, spokesman Elliot Mintz said Monday.

The younger Hilton ``spent three or four hours shopping to put together this wonderful collection of things for her mom,'' Mintz said.

A delivery person set the package down outside the home's gate to ring the intercom when a passenger in a passing car snatched the gifts.

``A fellow just whizzed by and grabbed the package,'' Mintz said.

The Hilton family celebrated Mother's Day by going out to dinner, he said.

The Office star Steve Carell is suffering a badly sprained ankle after falling out of a Hummer on the set of his new film. The US funnyman was shooting the sequel to the Jim Carrey-Morgan Freeman-starring 2003 hit Bruce Almighty in Richmond, Virginia when he took a tumble. Filming is not expected to be delayed on Evan Almighty, which sees The 40 Year Old Virgin star Carell divinely inspired to build an ark. Universal Pictures spokesperson Carol McConnaughey insists the actor "is doing fine." PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Richard Hatch, who won $1 million in the debut season of "Survivor," was sentenced Tuesday to 51 months in prison for failing to pay income taxes on his reality TV prize and other earnings.

Hatch, 45, was convicted in January. The charges carried a maximum of 13 years in prison.

U.S. District Judge Ernest Torres said he issued a harsher than expected sentence because Hatch had committed perjury repeatedly during his trial.

"It seems unfortunately very clear to me that Mr. Hatch lied," Torres said. When Hatch was convicted, Torres said he expected to sentence him to 33 to 41 months.

"I believe I've been completely truthful and completely forthcoming throughout the entire process," Hatch told the judge before he was sentenced.

Hatch claimed he thought the show's producers would pay his taxes and pleaded ignorance about money matters, saying he forgot to tell his accountants about some income.

"Survivor" earned CBS a ratings hit. Hatch became known as "the fat naked guy" — a term coined by David Letterman — for refusing to wear clothes for much of the show.

Hatch sowed seeds of conflict among his competitors, and an estimated 51 million viewers were watching when he received his winning check.

At times, he seemed to handle his criminal case like an extended reality TV competition. He abruptly walked away from a plea deal with prosecutors and pleaded his innocence to Katie Couric on the "Today" show.

Rocker Sheryl Crow has reportedly found love with Jake in Progress star John Stamos. The singer, who has recovered from breast cancer surgery, broke off her engagement to biker Lance Armstrong earlier this year. A source tells US publication Life & Style a mutual friend set up the celebrity pair. The couple had their first date a few weeks ago in Malibu, California, where they walked around the Malibu Country Mart shopping centre and stopped for a coffee. The source says, "They've been talking a lot and plan to have dinner together soon. They're really into each other, so it could blossom into something more."

NEW YORK - It was a one-two encounter between Axl Rose and Tommy Hilfiger.

The rocker and designer capped a Thursday evening out at a new club called The Plumm in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood with midnight fisticuffs.

"There was an issue between the two of them," Plumm owner Noel Ashman told The Associated Press.

The scuffle reportedly started after the Guns N' Roses front man moved the drink of Hilfiger's girlfriend, Dee Ocleppo.

"I moved his girlfriend's drink so it wouldn't spill," Rose told the Los Angeles radio station KROQ on Friday. "It was the most surreal thing, I think, that's ever happened to me in my life."

According to the 44-year-old singer, Hilfiger, 55, smacked him in the arm and told him to put the drink back.

"He just kept smacking me," Rose said.

Attempts to reach Hilfiger or a representative were not immediately successful.

Rose was there to play a surprise set for "Rent" actress Rosario Dawson for her 27th birthday party.

At the time of the dustup, The Plumm was packed with a celebrity crowd including Lenny Kravitz, Mickey Rourke, Kid Rock, Peter Beard, Molly Simms, Wentworth Miller, Ann Dexter Jones, Lydia Hearst and Damon Dash.

Rose did perform, and dedicated the song "You're Crazy" to "my good friend Tommy Hilfiger."

LOS ANGELES -- As Paris Hilton adds Lindsay Lohan to the growing list of her former gal pals, wealthy friend Brandon Davis weighs in on the "Just My Luck" star's lack of sex appeal.

In a three and a half minute video on TMZ.com, Davis is seen club hopping on Tuesday night (May 16) and goes on a tirade about Lohan's anatomy, using a word that won't be found in Webster's: "firecrotch."

He talks at length about her genitalia, fixating on her freckles and red hair down there, but denies ever having seen her naked because he doesn't find her attractive. He also refers to Lohan's ex-boyfriend, "That '70s Show" star Wilmer Valderrama, saying, "Who would want to f*** her? Who? Wilmer? Is Wilmer like in a mariachi band?" and then brings in Lohan's dad, who he deems "hotter than [Lindsay]."
Davis heaps on the insults, finally commenting on her financial worth.

"I think she's worth about $7 million, which means she's really poor," says the billionaire's grandson. "It's disgusting. She lives in a motel in New York."
All the while, Paris is seen walking next to Brandon, laughing at his comments and holding a cell phone up to her ear. At one point she looks like she's whispering something (possibly encouraging) to Brandon.

In a statement to TMZ, Hilton's publicist states: "The only thing I want to underscore is the person making the statements was not Paris Hilton. It is unfair to characterize Brandon's statements as being reflective of Paris' feelings about Lindsay. We're dealing with two different people. It was Brandon who was speaking, of course there are moments when Paris was laughing, but she never said anything. Brandon was speaking for himself not for her. Personally, I found the incident unnecessary."

Mintz also comments on Hilton cell phone use during the incident.

"Paris uses her cell phone as a defensive tool. Many times when you see her photographed in a crowd situation, she puts it up to her ear so she doesn't have to speak," says Mintz. "In the cacophony and din of screaming, nobody could have had a telephone conversation. Reporters were asking her questions about Lindsay that she did not want to answer, so she put her cell phone up to her ear. Brandon was not speaking for Paris. Period."

Davis is the grandson of late oil billionaire and film mogul Marvin Davis. Davis, the foul-mouthed younger one, once dated Drew Barrymore after she split with husband Tom Green and most recently went out with "The O.C.'s" Mischa Barton. The two were introduced at a charity event in February 2004, dated for about a year, and then broke up in July 2005.

Hilton has a history of "breaking up" with her party girl friends. She and her ex-BFF Nicole Richie still aren't talking despite co-starring in the upcoming of "The Simple Life" together. Hilton also fell out with Mary-Kate Olsen when she stole the twin's boyfriend, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos. They recently broke up amidst rumors that Lohan was seen canoodling with him.
