I realized today that I am powerless when it comes to certain types of items. I assume others have soft spots as well. Let's all confess! I'll start:
1. Children’s books. Love ‘em. Guilty pleasure? Perhaps, but at least I can rationalize that it is for Naomi’s intellectual stimulation. Unlike my other Achille’s heel….
Sigh…
(hanging my head in shame) 2. For no good reason that I can figure out, I am drawn like a moth to the flame to baby girl clothes that are covered in pictures of fruit! :o Why?!?!?? I swear, I see a little dress or shirt with cherries or strawberries or apples all over it and I can't stop myself. It’s a problem! For instance, if the following came in infant size my kid would so be working this dress for her first birthday:

Your turn. What can't you resist? And post pictures!:p

For DS:
Hawaiian shirts
little dump trucks etc that I find while I am shopping - he must have 100
For DD:
Hats
Bibs that match outfits that she has
For both:
Books
Clothes that are way on sale - especially brands I would never buy full price like Gymbo, Polo, Nautica and Patagonia
Something that could be a problem in a year or so:
Girls shoes

DS isn't even here yet and I have developen an obsession for all things Robeez. I can't stop... I own 4 pairs and have started to give them away as gifts, now.

Gymboree, hands down. In fact, Gymboree is a crack house and the coordinated clothing lines are crack -- it's addictive, it's expensive and it makes absolutely no sense to people who aren't hooked on Gymboree.
And, as if Gymboree isn't bad enough, you can buy pieces from the older lines on eBay. I'm rather ashamed to admit that I'm a bit obsessed with the Jungle Parade, Petting Zoo, European Holiday, and Aloha Wahine lines from last year, so for the past two months I've been eBaying rompers, shirts, pants, bibs, blankets and plush toys. Somebody stop me!
clothes--i love buying clothes for ds. i can't even imagine how i'll be when i have a daughter.

Gymboree - serioulsy - I've started burning the boxes and receipts so DH doesn't see them..and I have to buy the ENTIRE outfit - I have about 20 hats that she hates...but they are so cute. And my addiction was fueled when I went to a huge second hand sale in my area and saw the resale value on this stuff...totally unreal.
Books - she has about 100 books already. I love to read and this is one thing that I want to pass on to her.

Definitely Gymboree, hands down. I am a member of 2 other gymboree-related sites, just so I can see the lines before they come out. I spend 3 days figuring out my order before Gymbucks redemption and go the night before to put everything on hold. I stay up until 11pm the night before new lines come out so I can see them online that night. I spent months on ebay buying outfits from the lines that I liked last summer when I was pregnant but didn't find out if DD was a boy or girl (Aloha Wahine, Sweet Cherries, European Holiday, Petting Zoo). I buy DD the matching hats, bibs, socks, bows, you name it. She gets at least 1 entire matching outfit from each line, but usually more. My mom is just as bad buying it for her (and she'll pay full price, I wait until sales). I go to each of the 3 gymboree's near me about once a week. It's sick. But DD always looks so cute and gets so many compliments!;) I figure my clothing allowance just went to her.
My other addiction is pictures. I take about 20 a day (we have almost 2000 on our website of her, and she's not even 8 months old). I also take her to get professional pictures done every 2 months (if not more). For her 1 year pictures, I told DH we should budget $1500 just to see if he'd flinch and he was ok with it, he knows my addiction! And gymboree and picture addictions feed eachother...have to have cute clothes for the pics!

Clothes, in general, absolutely. I can't go to BRU for formula without coming back with at least one outfit! I remember when she was a couple of months old and one day I said to DH, "Dear lord, we'll have to be changing her clothes five times a day if she's ever going to wear all the outfits she has." (She got a ridiculous amount of clothing as gifts.) What did I do the next day? Buy her three "oh they're so cute I just had to get them!" outfits from the baby store here in town.
And talk about a crack house--Baby Boom in Montclair, NJ, is a total baby clothing crack house. A lot of their stuff is just way too expensive unless they're having a sale, but there are some things that I can talk myself into. The most adorable baby outfits ever. Although I've probably spent more at BRU, saying "Oh, it's so cute, and it's really inexpensive..." :o

I'm another Gymbo addict :) I confess to spending a good chunk of time after dd was born searching ebay for the older lines (they were cheaper...a little!) that I missed before I discovered the joy of entire matching outfits. In fact, dd is currently wearing a Jardin Francais outfit that I bought on ebay!
I'm also really bad about baby books. I LOVE childrens literature and had a pretty big collection before dd was even conceived. She's got tons of books!

Andrea, the fruit thing is hilarious!! So random....:p
But alas, I have my own issues:
1. Stuff that reminds me of being a kid, like...
I got almost all the "Mister Men" book collection on eBay. I had the Little Miss & Mr collections as a kid, and Mr. Tickle was my favorite!
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0843174226.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
Sesame Street plush toys - I loved these! My brother & I used to fight over who Big Bird liked better.
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000BGT6CG.01-A2F41ION7MHB6O._SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg
2. Anything to do with him eating. Spoons, plates, travel containers, special bibs, Table Toppers, Snack Traps, sippy cups, Take & Toss everything...my kitchen is a kaleidascope of plastics! And don't get me started on the amount of Earth's Best jarred foods in my pantry. It's obscene!
3. Clothes he does not need (like yet another t-shirt, funny swimsuit or running shoes - he can't even walk!) versus clothes he does need (khakis, socks, or basic every day shoes).
I sent DH to The Dreaded Money Vortex of Gymboree last week for *one* pair of pajamas with the 30% coupons, and he bought over $300 worth of clothes (before the sale pricing...and no, he never got the pjs). That place is so dangerous...
My favorite? He's wearing it today :D

Mine is toys - Thomas, Little People, and anything about animals - I have a serious problem. I love to play with them with him and since I stay home sometimes I get bored with what we have and want something new! He (and I) are into puzzles lately and we are thinking about a kitchen set....I do usually wait till I have coupons or find a great deal at certain stores.

I must admit its shoes and clothes...I am on a serious hunt for the pefect outfits for my DD's birthday. Yes I said outfits I am already planning to have a casual and dressy depending on my and her mood :p
Clothes. Though I'm a bargain shopper so will only do Gymbo's sale rack (super sale, at that), but mostly I just keep my eyes on Marshall's or TJ Maxx. But DD gets probably a new outfit a week, at least that's what it feels like.

Clothes, which I have to agree with Koala Gurl.. They are a necessity ;)
However one piece of clothes that I can not resist purchasing is holiday type clothes. 4th of July, St. Pats Day, Valentines, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Spring, Thanksgiving, etc. etc. It doesnt matter Dresses, shorts, t-shirts, onesises. Anything I will buy it. Knowing that it is only for a short time and then it wont fit her next year. My DH thinks it is some holiday sickness. They are so easy to buy because they are in all the stores BRu, Target, Old Navy, etc. The just suck me in. Then I justify it. The shirt was only 4.99. But add that up with all the holidays!
I just bought a shirt from Target yesterday. It says American Cutie on it with a flag. This is one of now 4, Patrotic shirts she has.
That is my weakness.

I'm a clothes addict, too. We saw a little girl wearing an Elmo outfit the other day and I jokingly said to DD, "If mommy really loved you she'd buy you elmo clothes instead of gymboree." DH said, "Yeah, only clothes with fruit or vegetables on them for you." (Although I don't know where the veggies came from, she doesn't have any of those).

I think I'm addicted to buying DD clothing. Gap, Old Navy, Gymbo, you name it. I do try to just buy sale stuff though. I also love the holiday t-shirts and onesies. If I get the onesies, I still use them after the holiday under PJs or t-shirts. I'm also addicted to pink clothing, which is funny b/c before DD came along I really didn't like pink.
Lately it's been sippy cups, why one child needs 15-20 sippy cups is beyond me. I have tons, handled ones, take and toss (they do come 6 to a pack), straw cups it's getting silly.

We just bought that second dresser and put it together last night (which is why I have pics). Her drawers were overflowing and crazy. Now they are perfect!
BUT, keep in mind that of course *I* didn't buy all of this stuff, TONS were gifts (I have friends who "have" to buy her something every time they come and visit, so it's pretty crazy), but yeah, cute clothes and shoes are my weakness with her. Matching clothes for my DDs. Both of my girls have MORE than enough clothes on their own. My weakness is buying them outfits that match because I like to match them on weekends, at B-day parties, etc. I figure they are 2 1/2 and 5 months and I'd better get away with it now while they don't protest. ;) The problem is that it costs double because I have to buy 2 of everything.
I got very lucky a few months ago and bought a bunch of stuff at a BOGO sale at Macy's. A few of the outfits I bought 24 months for DD1 and 6 months for DD2. My problem now is that I bought several outfits and DD1 is almost out of 24 month clothes and DD2 isn't in 6 month clothes yet. So I am not sure if they'll really get to wear the outfits together. It's so hard to plan ahead how big they will be at the same time.

AndreaMMS - We must have similar taste.... we have the same P3 as yours :) Most of her clothes are from Old Navy, Target, H&M, Naartije and Baby Gap. Some others are from Gymboree and Janie & Jack (but not too many since they are both overpriced - a.k.a the only items from there were bought when they were on sale for A LOT cheaper) ;)
charmcitygirl - Hehehe....that's not even all of them. There are at least another 10 pairs around the house (in our room, in her diaper bags, in the car, drying in the laundry room after being washed, etc).
But really, like I mentioned before, I pretty much buy EVERYTHING on sale. What i've spent on her clothes is probably only about half of what some Gymbo addicts spend on 1/2 the amount of her clothes ;) I'm pretty good at finding good deals. Oh and I sell most of her clothes once she's outgrown them, so I ended up making back some of what i've spent :D It all works out great. Daddy is in NY right now and is buying her more clothes at H&M LOL. It's not just me that has been sucked into the baby clothes buying trap ;)

AndreaMMS - We must have similar taste.... we have the same P3 as yours. Most of her clothes are from Old Navy, Target, H&M, Naartije and Baby Gap. Some others are from Gymboree and Janie & Jack (but not too many since they are both overpriced - a.k.a the only items from there were bought when they were on sale for A LOT cheaper)

Well, I am quite pleased that you think we have similar taste, as I think yours is great! And I agree with you.:p
I troll sales at Gymbo, J&J and ON...never heard of Naartije! Off to check it out!:D

Thank you :D
Naartije has SOME really cute clothes, but they also have a lot of not so cute clothes LOL. You just have to keep your eyes peeled.
You can get an idea on their website....

Paige is wearing one of her really cute Naartije dresses today, so i'll try and snap a pic since we're going to Legoland after she wakes up from her nap.
I think Target has impressed me the most lately believe it or not....and they are really cheap! She has some of the cutest dresses from Target and I don't think i've ever paid more than $12.99 on any one item there (and $12.99 is still "high" for me. I usually aim for the $7.99 and under stuff hehe). Old Navy has really cute stuff right now too.
This whole outfit (top, skirt and sandals) was from Old Navy....

Booey~ I agree with you on Target...I have bought Noelle a lot of clothes at target, I love the genuine kids line:) They also have some pretty cute sandals. I also loove childrens place...I bought her 2 skirts a dress and 5 shirts and it was around $45 the skirts (1 jean 1 cotton tiered) were $7.99 and I had a 15% off coupon

i find that the circo line at target runs REALLY small
i bout DD a bunch of t-shirts in 18-24mo size that were TIGHT on her..
she wears 12-18 at gymboree or childrens place.
the genuine kids line is really cute though!

I can't resist buying fabric to make baby bibs for my daughter. I just bought fortune cookie fabric for when we go out for chinese food, dim sum fabric and hamburger print fabric for when we go to burger joints. Not to mention all the cool Michael Miller fabric. I even bought some race for the cure pink ribbon fabric so she would have a bib to wear when we participate in the race this weekend. :)
And I'm also addicted to buying hats for her.
