I guess I need a large placemat type thing for eating out with DS (8 mo). I'm not sure what products are available and what other people do.
We bought a high chair cover (Eddie Bauer) at BRU that is a vinyl type material. It sucks. It slips off the chair.
What other products are out there and what are you using?
thanks.

We use the tabletoppers - www.tabletopper.com

they stick to the table and the baby eats right off it.
I wanted to get something for the highchair too and was wondering what people were using....
ETA sometimes I use the Fisher Price booster chair but I don't always want to lug it with me. When I don't I use these.

BTW I got a big box of the table toppers at BJs wholesale club for $12.99. I love that they are disposable since the whole point of eating out is to avoid washing dishes. :)
I saw this at onestepahead, anyone using this?

I like the table toppers but we also had the one by kidopotumus (sp) that rolled up. I liked the pocket that hung off the edge of the table for food to fall into. Very handy when DS just started eatting.

I LOVE Table Toppers! Disposable, don't mark up the tables (so no waitress will say No to them), lightweight, and big enough to cover a reasonable area in front of DS.

we tried a couple different mats, but my dd would tear away anything in front of her. with those wooden highchairs we used this

but really most of the time we brought the fp booster, it contains her better, she tries to escape those wooden highchairs.

DD has this one (we got it at BRU) and it's pretty cool because it sticks well and catches all the crumbs, but kind of a pain to drag back and forth....

We also use the Sesame Street disposable ones too, but she likes to just pull them off after a while.

Count me in as a Table Topper fan! I keep them stocked in the diaper bag and car. I figure if we don't eat straight off of the table, DS shouldn't either!

as far as tearing them off, I found if I adhere the bottom part under the table a bit (w/ the mat covering the edge/side or the table) she has a more difficult time pulling it off the table.

Booey posted the one I was describing in my early post, but mine is yellow.

Alien: That's what we do as well. DS thinks it is a challenge to tear them off but I think we are exiting that phase...he's more interested in flirting with the waitresses now
